Chapter 10: Marco Mario and The Origami Empress
(Temple in an unknown area)
The Shooting Star arrived at this scary looking temple as Dimentio, Poke'mon Hunter J, and Vaati exited the Shooting Star. Dimentio was holding a small cage with Olly and Olivia locked inside of it and Olivia was wearing a shock collar to go with the one on Olly. But with Dimentio's other hand, he was making a larger cage with Charmy, Adeleine, and Ribbon float and follow behind him.
Dimentio- I must say, the Shooting Star is one sweat ride!
Vaati- Yeah! Speed that can rival even Sonic and we weren't uncomfortable traveling at that speed the whole way. Think Master Tabuu will let us keep it now that we've stolen it from the Super Mario Brothers' Team?
Poke'mon Hunter J- I doubt it. Since it used to belong to Marco Mario, it will remind Tabuu of Marco. And you know how much Tabuu hates to be reminded of Marco.
Dimentio- Awwww…shit! And I was looking forward to having more joyrides with this airship! But I suppose you're right. Let's just get inside and revive this Empress.
Charmy- You losers won't get away with this! Just you wait until Vector and Espio get me out of here and when the Super Mario Brothers' Team arrives!
Then Dimentio moved his face over to the edge of the cage.
Dimentio- I wouldn't bet on them coming to your rescue any time soon. They don't even know where we've taken you or even that this temple exists. Bold to assume that we won't have the last laugh. HAHAHAHAHAHA…
While Dimentio was gloating, Charmy managed to squeeze his stinger through the bars of the cage and sting Dimentio directly in his left eye. Once Charmy removed his stinger, Dimentio's eye inflated like a balloon and Vaati and Poke'mon Hunter J couldn't help but laugh.
Dimentio- Grrrr…come here, you little…
Then Dimentio reached in between the bars and pulled Charmy to his face while holding the collar of his shirt.
Dimentio- You'll die first once we're done here, you puny bug!
Then Dimentio let go of Charmy and began rubbing some ointment on his eye and they began moving towards the entrance of the temple.
Adeleine- Charmy…was it really smart to antagonize them like that?
Charmy- I'd rather show them I can fight back than let them push me around.
Ribbon- But we're still their prisoners. And we have to figure out how to get out of here and save Olivia and Olly.
Once they got inside there appeared to be a closed door along with two levers sticking out of the wall.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Pull the lever, Vaati!
Vaati pulled the lever on the left, but instead of opening the door, it opened a trapdoor that Poke'mon Hunter J was standing directly over and she suddenly fell right into it.
Poke'mon Hunter J- WRONG LEVERRRRRRR! (Splash)
Dimentio and Vaati (at the same time)- Uhhh…
A few seconds later, Poke'mon Hunter J re-entered the temple only she was soaking wet from head to toe and had a Feraligatr biting her on the butt.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Why was that lever even there?!
Then Poke'mon Hunter J slapped the Feraligatr in the face and made it let go of her. After the Feraligatr ran off, Poke'mon Hunter j walked up to the set of levers.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Get out of my way!
Poke'mon Hunter J pulled the lever on the right and the door opened up. However, as Poke'mon Hunter J proceeded with entering the temple, a large boot connected to a pully system smacked her right in the face and knocked her against the wall.
Vaati- Uh…J…I think you forgotten that Master Tabuu warned us that when Jayx build this temple to contain the soul of the Origami Empress, he also planted boobytraps along the way. Try to proceed with more cautions and…
Then a panel in the wall opened up and a firework attached to a stick appeared before exploding in Vaati's face.
Dimentio- That's right, you're supposed to skip this step and…
Then flames shot up from the floor and charred Dimentio. Dimentio shook off the soot and turned to look at Olly, Olivia, Charmy, Adeleine, and Ribbon who were still in their cages.
Dimentio- It's under control…
Then a boxing glove attached to a pully system bopped Dimentio in the face and knocked him to the floor. Olly, Olivia, Charmy, Adeleine, and Ribbon just stood there from the confinement of their cages as boobytrap after boobytrap was sprung.
Olly- Tell me…why would an all might god, like Tabuu relay on such incompetent buffoons to do his dirty work.
Adeleine- Your guess is as good as ours, King Olly.
Vaati- What the?!
Poke'mon Hunter J- How did an Suicune get in here?!
Dimentio- That's not a Suicune! That's a Paradox Poke'mon called Walking Wake!
Then water filled part of the room as the sound of someone being punched over and over could be heard. Then the sound of a bowling ball rolling down a slope and landing on someone's head was heard before Poke'mon Hunter J's googles as well as a bowling ball bounced over to where the two cages were and one of the lenses on the goggles was looking cracked.
Olivia- …owch…
(On Bowser's Doomship)
The Doomship was flying over the wood in the Mushroom Kingdom. Not as fast as the Shooting Star can, but fast as it can go. Mario and Bowser were standing at the bow of the Doomship and Bowser was looking into the distance with an eager look on his face.
Mario- Thanks again for letting us use your Doomship, Bowser.
Bowser- I'm not doing this for you, Mario! Nor am I doing this because I hate Tabuu! I'm only agreeing to work with you on this because I owe it to myself to save the origami girl before she gets sacrificed in this ritual Tabuu is attempting to perform!
King DeDeDe- And you were mocking me about having a soft spot for Adeleine. But it appears that the all mighty Koopa King has just as much of a soft spot for Olivia.
Then Bowser lifted his left foot in the air before stomping it down on the floor of the Doomship. This caused one of the wooden planks to rise up from the floor and hit DeDeDe in his lower area.
Bowser- Anything else you want to say, DeDeDe?
King DeDeDe- No…(moaning with tears in eyes)…I'm good…
Bowser- Good to heard it. Hey Eggman, what's the status on their location?
Then Bowser turns his head to face Ty and Eggman who were looking at this radar.
Eggman- Well, according to the tracker Ty placed on Olivia, they've appeared to stop moving. My guess is they've arrived at that temple Dimentio spoke of earlier.
Ty- And thankfully, they haven't noticed the tracker yet. Just a moment…and…got it! We've got the coordinates to the temple, mates! Keep on this course and we'll get there in about twenty minutes at most.
Sonic- Twenty minutes?! I'll bet I could get there in twenty seconds if I ran there!
Luigi- Not without us, Sonic!
Pit- This could be too dangerous for just one of us to try on our own, so we should all stick together like we do against Tabuu!
Sonic- I know. I know.
Marx- Sonic's probably just eager to get this done like the rest of us are.
Kirby- You know, you didn't have to come along with us, Marx.
Marx- Oh yes I do, Kirby! I still have a score to settle with Tabuu and his goons. Plus, I want to show them that they could be free from Tabuu like I am.
Tails- Marx, I don't think all of Tabuu's followers want to be free. And if I remember correctly, when Mario stabbed Tabuu's mark on your body with Marco's Sword…you went through an unbearable agony.
Ganondorf- I'm wondering why we allowed them to come along with us?
Ganondorf points behind him with his thumb and everyone sees Goh, Bandana Dee, Vector, and Espio.
Bandana Dee- Hey, we failed to protect Adeleine, Ribbon, and Olivia when they were entrusted to us.
Goh- And we refuse to let them down again!
Vector- And they snatched Charmy as well.
Espio- And as members of Team Chaotix, we can't just abandon Charmy when he needs us.
Ash- That's actually very touching. I'm sure Charmy's happy knowing you've got his back.
Palutena (telepathically to Ash)- Speaking of someone who's got your back, we called in for a little extra help. And it looks like he's finally caught up to you.
Then everyone noticed a looming shadow flying above the Doomship. When they looked up, they saw Ho-Oh flying directly above them.
Ho-Oh- Hello there, Master Ash.
Ash- Ho-Oh…
Pikachu- Pika…
Viridi (telepathically to Ash)- You can thank us later for informing Ho-Oh about the situation.
Luigi- Well, with so many of us gathered like this, stopping them should be a cakewalk. Even if they do summon this Origami Empress.
Kyrin- I wouldn't get overconfident, Luigi.
Then Luigi got startled about Kyrin popping up out of nowhere behind him again and ended up clinging to Risky Boots.
Luigi- Damn it, Kyrin! Do you always have to sneak up on me like that?! Oh…
Risky Boots- Get off of me, you green idiot!
Luigi- Sorry!
Luigi let go of Risky Boots, but she was still glaring at him.
Kyrin- Well, it never got old with Loewy. So I guess it's never gonna get old with you, Luigi.
Shantae- But I think we should get to the point why you're here, Kyrin.
Mario- She's right. Normally when you pop up like that, it's because you have something important to tell us.
Kyrin- And I do. You see, the reason why Tabuu is interested in reviving the Origami Empress…is because the Origami Empress is immune to the effects of Marco's Sword.
Mario- Wait…What now?!
Kyrin- Perhaps I should start by telling the story of what happened 1,000 years ago when the Origami Empress was first folded.
(The Mushroom Kingdom 1,000 years ago)
A lonely Toad who was gifted in origami was sitting alone in his workshop and seemed forlorn.
Kyrin (narrating)- 1,000 years ago, there once lived a Toad who was extremely gifted with origami. His talent as on origami craftsman allowed him to fold a paper into just about anything he could imagine. Just give him a piece of paper and he'd fold it into whatever you asked him. But regardless of his talents, he wanted more. He wanted to do something that would truly earn him a place in the history book by doing something no origami craftsman could possibly do. He dreamed of bringing his origami creations to life…literally. But sadly, this origami craftsman was obsessed with making that dream a reality…
Origami Craftsman of the past- Come on!
He held an origami figure in his hands and held it up to his face after he finished folding it.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Live! Please! Come to life!
The origami figure just remained motionless in his hand and the Toad just threw it to the ground in frustration.
(Toad Town 1,000 years ago)
Kyrin (narrating)- Around the same time, a few days before the Origami Festival, I informed Marco that the Demon King, Demise had in his possession a very dangerous voodoo spell book that should not be in the hands of mere mortals and sent him to retrieve it from Demise. And Marco took along Wolf, Kimberly, and Icarus with him to deal with Demise.
Marco, Wolf, Kimberly, and Icarus had arrived in Toad Town and Wolf was holding a large black book in his left armpit.
Kyrin (narrating)- But after they returned with the book, they got the attention of someone that shouldn't have messed with something too dangerous for them to comprehend.
The Origami Craftsman of the past was purchasing some paper for his origami when he spotted Marco and his friends arriving into town.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Hey…that's Marco Mario! The knight who defended the Mushroom Kingdom from the Koopa King, Slicor! And saved the world from the wicked god, Tabuu! But wait…one of his friends is carrying a strange book…
The Origami Craftsman moved in to listen in on their conversation better, but was still making sure they didn't notice him.
Marco- Kyrin will be happy to know we got that voodoo spell book back from Demise.
Wolf- Well, Demise sure put up more of a fight than usual just to try and prevent us from taking this book back. What ever is in this spell book must've been really worth it.
Kimberly- But what is this…uh…vu do…anyway?
Icarus- Seriously, Kim?!
Marco- Well try to remember, Kimberly is not from Earth.
Palutena (telepathically to Kimberly)- It's a religious culture that was originated in West Africa that practices in the worship of supernatural. However, it is also considered to be one of the most dangerous forms of magic. In short, it's the closest form of human magic to dark magic. Or the closest form of magic that can make even the gods scared that mortals have created.
Kimberly- Yikes! Sounds scary! POYA!
Marco- That's why Kyrin sent us to get this book from Demise.
Wolf- But I shutter to think what Demise was gonna do with this! I fear Hyrule could've been wiped off the map!
Marco- Come on, guys. Let's just get this thing to Kyrin back at that castle so we can prepare for the Origami festival.
As Marco, Wolf, Kimberly, and Icarus were walking towards Princess Amethyst's castle, the Origami Craftsman had an idea.
Origami Craftsman of the past- A voodoo spell book…I wonder…could it also…do what I think it can do…
(Later at Princess Amethyst's castle)
Princess Amethyst was in the library of her castle as she was trying to fold an origami bunny. However, it kept coming out all wrong.
Princess Amethyst- Oh poo! I'll never get this bunny folded right in time for the festival! What am I doing wrong?
Then Princess Amethyst looks at this book of origami folding techniques she had placed on the table next to her. But while she was looking at the instructions again, Marco, Wolf, Kimberly, and Icarus entered the library.
Marco- Princess! Sorry to bother you, but we…
Princess Amethyst- Oh, Marco! You're not bothering me! In fact, I was trying to fold an origami bunny, but I can't seem to fold it right. Think you can help me, Marco?
Marco- Princess, we're here because Kyrin is still under your care after Tabuu almost killed him. We retrieved the voodoo spell book he told us to take back from Demise and need to speak to him.
Princess Amethyst- But I need to get this origami bunny folded before the festival begins! It's customary for the Mushroom Kingdom Princess to present an origami sculpture of their favorite animal that they folded themselves with all the other origami everyone else will be presenting!
Marco- Princess, the festival is a week from now. You got plenty of time.
Princess Amethyst- I know…but I don't understand what I'm doing wrong…I just need a little help…
Marco- Sorry Princess Amethyst, but I know nothing about origami. What about you?
Kimberly- Not a custom on planet Popstar.
Wolf- Don't look at me. I was raised by wolves. Never held a piece of paper without attempting to chew it to bits like a wild animal.
Icarus- I never got to learning how to fold origami either. I know about it from Lady Palutena, but I never attempted it.
Princess Amethyst- Please Marco, I just need some help understanding these instructions.
Marco- Alright, but we gotta make this quick.
Then Wolf placed the black voodoo spell book on a nearby table as Marco, Wolf, Kimberly, and Icarus attempted to help Princess Amethyst understand the directions on how to fold an origami bunny in that book she was reading. However, a silhouette of a Toad was briefly seen looming over the black spell book.
Marco- Ok…it now says to fold point F over to point G…then hold halfway to point A…
Princess Amethyst- Ok…I think I got it!
Her origami bunny still looked sloppy, but it did look more like a bunny than her other attempts.
Icarus- Still needs some work. Maybe Lady Palutena could fold you one instead?
Kimberly- But how about we get back to handing that voodoo spell book to Kyrin?
Princess Amethyst- Alright. I'll go and let you into Kyrin's room.
Marco- Wolf, go get the spell book.
Wolf reached over to the table where you placed the book and placed the book he grabbed back under his left armpit again.
Icarus- Uh…Wolf…hate to break it to yah, but that's not the voodoo spell book.
Wolf- I placed the book on this table and that's the book that was there.
Kimberly- Yes…but that voodoo spell book had a black hardcover. The one you're holding has a green one.
Then Wolf took a closer look at the book he was holding and realized Kimberly and Icarus were right.
Wolf- Then…that means swapped out the spell book from under our nose…
Marco- What?! Oh dear…this is bad! Palutena, contact Chaos and the others! I have a feeling we might need the entire team for this!
(Back at the Origami Craftsman's workshop)
The Origami Craftsman had rushed into his workshop as fast as he could. He stopped to catch his breath once he got inside and closed the door. And in his hands was the black voodoo spell book.
Origami Craftsman of the past- At long last! With this book…I'll finally bring my origami creations…TO LIFE!
Kyrin (narrating)- But unfortunately for him, he was about to learn the hard way about being careful what you wish for…because it was about to come true in the worst way possible.
(Dark and stormy night at the Origami Craftsman's workshop)
The Origami Craftsman had grabbed a large while piece of paper and had placed it at the table. The paper was very large and was as white as snow. But the Origami Craftsman seemed so excited about what he was about to fold this paper into.
Kyrin- narrating)- And so, with the dark magic found in that evil spell book full of forbidden dark magic, that little Toad developed a new folding technique called…the Fold of Life. I'm sure Mario and Luigi remember this, since this is what brought Olly and Olivia to life.
Then the Origami Craftsman began folding the large white paper. When he was finished, there stood an origami figure. She looked similar to how Olivia and Olly do, even the same height. Her hair was similar to Olivia and Olly's and her face seemed similar to Olly's, but her hair was pure white as well as her body instead of yellow or purple.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Now…rise…rise…my Origami Empress!
After a bolt of lightning flashed over the workshop, the origami figure slowly began to move her body. First, her arm was twitching, and then her legs began to move a bit. Eventually, her eyes opened up and she was looking directly at the Origami Craftsman.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Yes! I've done it! I've finally brought my origami to life!
(Later at the Origami Craftsman's workshop)
Kyrin (narrating)- At first, things were going well. The craftsman was raising the Origami Empress like a daughter. She began to want to know more…
The Origami Empress looked out the window and saw what little of Toad Town she could.
Origami Empress- What is that?
Origami Craftsman of the past- That is Toad Town.
Origami Empress- Toad Town…is that what you call outside your workshop?
Origami Craftsman- No, that's just the village I live in. Toad Town is just one part of the Mushroom Kingdom. And that's just one part of the huge world out there.
Origami Empress- Huge world…I want to see!
Origami Craftsman of the past- Well…sorry, but you're still a little young for that. You were just recently born. And although the world we live in is very beautiful, that are also dangers as well. For instance, there is this mean brute named Slicor Koopa, the king of Dark Land and a nasty villain who's been trying to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom for several years now. Or worse, two years ago…a horrible god named Tabuu attacked and…I probably shouldn't tell you about that. It would give you nightmares.
Origami Empress- But if there are dangers out there, how are there still people in the outside still safe and sound?
Origami Craftsman of the past- Well, that's because there are heroes out there, like the Super Mario Brothers.
Origami Empress- Heroes?
Origami Craftsman- Yes. Marco and Loewy Mario are the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. They're the reason why Slicor Koopa and his army of Koopa's keep failing to enslave the Mushroom Kingdom every time. And there are several other heroes out there from different parts of the world. And they were the ones who saved us from Tabuu by uniting together against that monster. But don't you worry, because you'll get your chance to see the outside world in time. I promise.
(Later)
Kyrin (narrating)- As the time went on, she began to learn about her abilities. The Origami Empress could make any origami creating she wanted with just a mere thought and no effort.
The Origami Empress took a piece of red paper and turned it into an origami crane just by touching it. But then the Origami Empress approached a large wooden chair and looked at it.
Kyrin (narrating)- But she soon discovered that she could also take objects that weren't made of paper and fold them into origami as if they were made of paper. Just like Olly and Olivia can.
The Origami Empress touched the chair and folded it into an origami flower. The Origami Craftsman was very surprised when he saw this.
Origami Craftsman of the past- How…how did you just do that…
Origami Empress- What? I just folded it like how you taught me to fold origami.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Yes…but that wasn't made of paper! In fact, that wooden chair wasn't something that can be folded like that!
(The day before the Origami Festival)
Kyrin (narrating)- But then the worst happened…the Origami Empress finally wanted to see the outside world for herself…and she wasn't taking no for an answer…
Origami Empress- Please! I'm almost a week old and I think I can handle myself in the outside world now! I want to go outside and see what's outside your workshop and see this Origami Festival!
Origami Craftsman of the past- You're still very young. I don't know if you're ready yet.
Origami Empress- Then when?! You said there would come a time when I'd be ready to see the outside world! Well, when is it! I want do see this Origami Festival you and everyone else in Toad Town are excited about! And besides, you said those heroes called the Mario Brothers defend the Mushroom Kingdom! They'll be there at the festival too!
Origami Craftsman of the past- Well…you see…I kind of…took something…in order to fold you to life…and if Marco and Loewy see you…they'll know…
Origami Empress- Know what?! That you're a horrible father?!
Origami Craftsman of the past- I just…I just can't let them see you yet…
Just then, the Origami Craftsman accidently smacked of bottle of ink off the table and the ink spilled out of out as it flew across the air. To make things worse, the stream of ink suddenly splashed over the left side of the Origami Empress' face, completely covering the entire left half of her white face in black ink.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Oh no! Are you ok!
After a moment, the Origami Empress realized what had happened. Her entire left side of her face was now covered with an ink stain.
Origami Empress- Wha…What have you done?!
Origami Craftsman of the past- Uh…maybe I can get it off!
The Origami Craftsman made several attempts to remove the stain from trying to wipe it off with his hand to using a wet towel to try and clean it off. But sadly, the stain was still covering half of her face.
Origami Empress- YOU! You did this to me!
Origami Craftsman of the past- Please, calm down! I'm sure I can…
Before he could finish, he was suddenly whisked into the air and levitating above the ground.
Origami Craftsman of the past- Hey…what's going…
Then his body was suddenly being folded like origami paper.
Origami Empress- For scaring my face like this…I am banishing you to a realm between light and dark!
Then the Origami Craftsman was folded over and over until he vanished without a trace.
Origami Empress- That is the power of origami. And with my powers, I can fold anything I want…into whatever I want…
Then the Origami Empress looked at the outside world from the window again.
Origami Empress- Time to show this Mushroom Kingdom what origami can really do…
(The next morning)
Marco and Loewy had arrived in Toad Town on the day of the Origami Festival.
Loewy- I can't wait for the Origami Festival!
Marco- I don't know if this is a time for celebrating, Loewy. Remember, that spell book that Kyrin warned me about how dangerous it was is still missing.
Loewy- Is this spell book really that dangerous? I mean, there are so many spell books related to all kinds of magic in Castle Hyrule has so many spell books relating to several kinds of magic and the gods are ok with the Hylians keeping those.
Marco- Apparently it is. Even Kyrin was terrified of this thing. Saying that the magic spells in that voodoo spell book could be a threat to even S Ranked Gods.
Suddenly, Prince Calmly and Icarus rushed up to Marco and Loewy.
Marco- Calmly, Icarus, did you find the book?
Prince Calmly- No, Marco. But we believe something strange is going on?
Marco- What do you mean…
Icarus- Have you noticed that everyone in Toad Town seems to have disappeared without a trace? And on the day of the Origami Festival.
Then Marco and Loewy looked around and saw no one outside. Not one Toad anywhere. Then they saw some buildings and houses being lifted by King Kong.
King Kong- Dippy! Dippy, tell King Kong where Dippy is!
Loewy- King Kong, why are you lifting someone's house over your head?
King Kong- King Kong no find Dippy Kong. Dippy Kong vanish and King Kong worried.
Then Chaos rushed in between Loewy and King Kong.
Chaos- Not just that, but I can't seem to find Rainbow or Kyuubi either. Strange how someone like me who can search everywhere in less than ten seconds can't find his best friend or wife.
Then Ihsoy, Wolf, Kimberly, Simba, and Azra approached Marco.
Wolf- The entire population of Toad Town is missing.
Simba- Kind of reminds me of the time when the entire Mushroom Kingdom including you and Loewy vanished without a trace, mate. And only to suddenly reappear one week later.
Kimberly- I seem to have misplaced Jayx as well. I can't find him and he was right next to me while I was getting us breakfast this morning. Then he's gone the second I took my eyes off of him.
Azra- You don't think this is Tabuu's doing?
Loewy- Tabuu? We defeated him and locked him in Subspace over three years ago! He can't do anything while locked away and this his powers nearly drained after that battle at Shooting Star Summit.
Azra- Well, who else do you think could pull something like this without even Palutena noticing or even swiping that dangerous voodoo spell book from under your noses?
Marco- Azra does have a point. Although Tabuu was defeated and severely wounded after that fight, I do know for a fact that Tabuu does occasionally spy on us from his prison in Subspace. However, I don't think Tabuu is behind this either. This doesn't seem like Tabuu's style at all. After all, Tabuu would've come for us since we were the ones who defeated him.
Ihsoy- That true.
Wolf- Ihsoy, you weren't fighting Tabuu on Shooting Star Summit with us that night!
Ihsoy- But Ihsoy, Slicor, and Kaster did hit Tabuu with behind attack so God Marco break Tabuu meanie Off-Wave.
Then Prince Calmly's Pikachu sniffed the air and thought he smelled something bad. Pikachu began to shake in fear, climbed up Calmly's leg, and tried to hide underneath Prince Calmly's shirt.
Prince Calmly- Hey! Pikachu, what's gotten into you?!
Pikachu- Pika…
Palutena (telepathically to everyone)- Hey…I'm picking up a lifeform…over by Amethyst's castle…but I can't tell who it is…
Marco- Then let's see who it is for ourselves.
(At Princess Amethyst's castle)
Slicor Koopa had arrived at the castle after landing his Doomship. As Slicor began to approach the castle, Kaster rushed up to him.
Kaster- Sire, don't you find this to be a bit odd?
Slicor Koopa- What's so odd about it, Kaster? We kidnap Princess Amethyst during this Origami Festival, we ambush Marco and his team when they show up, and then I finally conquer the Mushroom Kingdom.
Kaster- But King Slicor, haven't you noticed that Toad Town seems abandoned like a ghost town?
Then we see King K. Rush, Demise, King Big D, Wolfgang and his Persian, James Robotnik, Duke Cass, Medusa, and Greasy Boots walk off the Doomship.
King K. Rush- Kaster does have a point, Slicor. The entire village is suspiciously empty. Not even guards to try and stop us from even landing your Doomship in the princess' flower garden.
King Big D- Yeah! All this quietness is giving me the creeps! Like something bad is about to go down!
Slicor Koopa- Come on! What could possibly be a threat to the Mushroom Kingdom that is also worse than me?
Greasy Boots- What about Tabuu?
Slicor Koopa- Oh…Ok…there was him…but he's gone now! Imprisoned in Subspace for more than three years and is obviously not leaving any time soon!
Marco's voice- Slicor!
As soon as Slicor heard that voice, he turned around and saw Marco, Loewy, Ihsoy, King Kong, Wolf, Kimberly, Prince Calmly and his Pikachu, Chaos, Simba, Icarus, and Azra at the castle's front gate.
Slicor Koopa- Marco? You and your team are earlier than we were expecting…
Marco drew his sword and pointed it at Slicor and his team.
Marco- Enough games, Slicor! What have you done with everyone in Toad Town?!
Duke Cass- Huh…?
James Robotnik- What did he say?
Slicor Koopa- What are you talking about, Marco? I'll admit, me and my team are here to abduct Princess Amethyst, but we just got her and haven't done anything to the Mushroom Kingdom yet.
Marco- And why should we believe you…
Just then, the front doors to the castle opened. Marco and Slicor's team looked over and were confused at first as to why no one was there as the door opened. But after a few seconds, Princess Amethyst's silhouette could be seen, but it wasn't walking right. Once Princess Amethyst stepped into the light, she was looking like a life-sized origami figure of herself.
Slicor Koopa- What the hell…
Marco- Princess Amethyst…
Everyone just stared at Princess Amethyst's strange origami form for a few seconds and didn't say a word. But eventually, Princess Amethyst broke the silence.
Folded Amethyst- Hello…how good to see you…
Loewy- Uh…princess…?
Kaster- Sire…I don't like the look of this. Princess Amethyst's tone sounds completely off.
Slicor Koopa- I know…this is just…weird…
Marco- Uh…Princess Amethyst…are you ok…?
Then the folded version of Princess Amethyst slowly turned her head in a creepy manner to look at Marco.
Folded Amethyst- Why yes…I am…better than…OK-K-K-K…
Then the folded version of Princess Amethyst twitched and sputtered like a broken record for a bit.
Chaos- Ok…this is creeping me out…and I've seen a lot of crazy shit even before I relinquished my titles as God of Chaos…
Demise- Hang on a second…this feels just like the dark magic from the spell book you heroes took from me a week ago!
Icarus- Well…as embarrassing as it is…someone stole it from us right after we snatched if from you…
Wolf- Guess we can rule out Demise swiping it back from us…
Kimberly- But what's going on here with Princess Amethyst?
Folded Amethyst- Answer me this…Shouldn't the Mushroom Kingdom…unfold? And be refolded unto glory?
Wolfgang- What is she talking about?
Simba- Not sure, mate.
Folded Amethyst- And what of those…Toads? Shouldn't they be silenced…for all eternity?
Ihsoy- Ihsoy creeped out!
Azra- I know…this is not like Princess Amethyst at all!
Greasy Boots- That or she finally jumped over the deep end.
Folded Amethyst- Last question…will you crease yourself and be reborn, like me?
Icarus- What the…
Medusa- I think it's clear that something isn't right with her!
Marco- Princess Amethyst, make sense! What is going on and why are you asking these bazar questions?!
Folded Amethyst- Wrong answer. Right answer. It matters not. Your replies are paper thin. But I guess it's time…to end this charade…
Then this origami version of Princess Amethyst unfolded herself and refolded herself into the Origami Empress while still having that ink stain covering the left half of her face.
King Kong- Wha…?
Slicor Koopa- Hey! You're not the princess! Where the **** is she?!
Origami Empress- Oh, the princess is right in front of you. Behold!
When everyone looked up at the stain glass mural of Princess Amethyst at the front of the castle, they realized that that stain glass image looked too realistic.
Loewy- Princess…Amethyst…
Slicor Koopa- I can't bang a…
Then Kaster quickly whispers into Slicor's ear and quickly left from Slicor's ear.
Slicor Koopa- Oh…this fanfiction does not have a high enough age rating to say it like that. Ok…how else can I say it? Hmm…how about…I can't kidnap a castle mural!
Marco- Who are you, anyway?!
Origami Empress- Oh…how rude of me! Allow me to introduce myself. I am…the Origami Empress. I have the power to take anything and literally reshape it into anything else I desire. After all, I did turn your princess into one of my…works of art! She is one with the castle now. Beautiful, precious, and silent. I'm sure she's happier this way.
Kimberly- This is insane! How can you fold someone into a castle like that?!
Origami Empress- And how could heroes like you foolishly let a random Toad swap out a dangerous spell book with another random book so easily? That's right. An origami craftsman Toad stole that spell book from you and used it to fold me to life. But that bastard disrespected the very paper I am made out of! He splashed ink all over my face! And since I'm origami, this will never come off! Now I bear the hideous scar of his negligence and disregard for origami…And for that, he had to pay!
Azra- But even if you're mad at him, why take it out on others?!
Origami Empress- If you've seen one Toad, you've seen them all! They're all the same to me! But why fight a battle you cannot win? I'll be more than happy to fold you heroes into origami too. I'm sure you'll all be happy. After all…just look at your friends…
Then several origami beings walked out of the castle. Most of them were of Toads, but several more of them seemed very familiar to them.
King Kong- Dippy?!
Kimberly- And Jayx too!
Chaos- It's bad enough you had to fold my wife, Rainbow, but Kyuubi is just a child! How can you do this?!
Origami Empress- I didn't hurt any of them. It was completely painless. And as I said, I'm sure they're happier this way.
Marco- I'd had enough of this!
Then Marco rushed up to the Origami Empress and swung his sword at her. However, the sword ended up bouncing right off of her like rubber. And the Origami Empress was unharmed.
Marco- What just happened?!
Origami Empress- Oh yes…that sword of yours…created by this god who holds the title of Lord of the Universe. It might look like it's made of steel, but it's actually made from the Lord of the Universe's own blood. Funny how his blood could take the shape of a broadsword and can cut right through the power of even the strongest of gods. But apparently…it won't work on me.
Demise- That does me sense. That spell book contained secrets on how to repel powers of the gods.
Wolf- Are you serious?!
Demise- Why do you think I went through great lengths to obtain it or why I put up so much of a fight to try and prevent you heroes from taking it away from me?
Origami Empress- Shame you won't except your fate willingly. So, my folded creations…help these heroes submit to the folding…
Then all of those that were folded by the Origami Empress began to move in on both the original Super Mario Brothers' Team and Slicor's Team and surround them.
King Kong- King Kong no fight nephew, Dippy Kong!
Chaos- I hear you, King Kong! I can't bring myself to hurt Kyuubi or my wife, Rainbow, even if they are possessed!
Just then, a white star powerup item was thrown from the top of the castle and landed right by Marco's feet. As Marco looked up, he saw the silhouette of someone he knew moving back behind the one of the towers of the castle. Marco made a faint half smile as he picked up the white star.
Marco- Thanks, my old friend. Let's hope this will be enough to stop this.
Then Marco ate the white star and transformed into God Marco and Kyrin's mark would be seen glowing on God Marco's right palm.
Kyrin (narrating)- So Slicor and his team did what they could to fight off ones folded by the Origami Empress while Marco and his team took on the Empress herself. She might've been immune to Marco's sword…however…
God Marco received energy from Loewy and the others create is large rainbow fireball before shooting it at the Origami Empress and knocking her to the ground.
Kyrin (narrating)- She was not immune to the rest of Marco's powers. But she was also no pushover either. In fact, she was even stronger and more dangerous than Olly was in Paper Mario: The Origami King. And I'm sure Mario and Luigi remember how strong Olly was. Anyway, it was a struggle, but the original Super Mario Brothers' Team managed to defeat her like how they defeated Tabuu.
Then we see the Origami Empress' paper body crumple apart. As soon as that happened, everyone and everything the Origami Empress folded was instantly changed back to normal. Unfortunately for Princess Amethyst, she suddenly fell from the stain glass mural and was caught by Slicor Koopa as she landed in his arms.
Slicor Koopa- Hey baby! Does me saving you from a nasty fall make me good enough to date you now?
Then Princess Amethyst grabs one of the horns on the sides of Slicor's head and yanked on it like an ear.
Slicor Koopa- OW! OW! STOP PULLING LIKE THAT!
Princess Amethyst- Put me down, Slicor!
Then Slicor placed Princess Amethyst back on the ground as King Big D walked up to him with a silly grin on his face.
King Big D- OOOOOO! Whipped!
Then Slicor punched Big D in the face and knocked him into the castle wall.
Slicor Koopa- Shut up, Big D!
Then the soul of the Origami Empress was leaving the crumpled paper that used to be her body. But then Palutena stunned the soul before it could get far with her powers.
Kyrin (narrating)- Then Palutena managed to capture the Origami Empress' soul before it could escape. It was agreed that she was too dangerous to be left unchecked. So, in order to ensure that she wouldn't be revived, her soul was placed in a special container that would only open under a special constellation that only occurs once every 100 years. A temple was constructed in the middle of nowhere t place this container with the Origami Empress' soul and as extra security, Kimberly got Jayx to install several boobytraps to prevent any intruder from getting to her soul. Although, one trap Jayx set up confused me a bit. He asked Prince Calmly to bring him back a Poke'mon called Waking Wake from the Paldea region. Not sure why he needed that.
(End of flashback and back to Bowser's Doomship)
Luigi- You got to be kidding me! That sword is strong enough to cut through Tabuu, but not some crazy origami witch?!
Kyrin- You know, Loewy said those exact words.
Mario- But that does make sense. The last time we fought Tabuu, this sword impaled his left hand and pierced his mark. Which crippled his powers and left his body in critical condition.
Marx- Now that you mention it, I do remember when I was still working for Tabuu, ever since that wound was inflicted over his mark on his left palm, just using any amount of his power caused him a lot of pain. Similar to what I went through after you used Marco's sword to sever Tabuu's mark from me.
Mario- Exactly. We might fear Tabuu's powers, but Tabuu fears what my ancestor's sword can do to him. So it would make sense that Tabuu would want to recruit someone who wouldn't be affected by this weapon.
Meowth- Like how ground type Poke'mon are immune to electric attacks?
Kyrin- I guess that's one way to put it.
Donkey Kong- You know, I can't help but feel a little sorry for her.
Luigi- But she sounds just a prideful as Olly. She wouldn't just submit herself to Tabuu.
Medusa- You do realize that power and abilities are two different things, Luigi. The Origami Empress might be immune to Marco's sword, but Tabuu is still stronger and more deadly than her. After all, she's not immune to Tabuu's powers even if Tabuu hasn't fully recovered from that wound inflicted upon him. And I'm sure he has numerous methods of persuading her. Whether that being peaceful…or forceful.
Boss Cass- Yeah, like Tabuu could just remove that ink stain that covered half of her face without damaging folded paper body and make it as if she never had that ink stain at all as a means of making her believe Tabuu is a friend.
Yoshi- All more reason to stop bad guys!
Mario- I just hope when we catch up to them, it won't be too late to save Olivia and King Olly.
(Back at the temple)
Olly and Olivia were still in their tiny little cage, while Charmy, Adeleine, and Ribbon were in their large cage as they watch the chaos resume on the outside. The sound of hot tar being pour could be heard and they heard Dimentio scream before a chicken could be heard in the background.
Olivia- Um…what's with those chicken feathers?
Ribbon- I believe it's called tar and feather…
Then the sound of something being electrocuted could be heard as flashes of electricity could be seen from their cages.
Charmy- Hey, maybe at this rate…
Then they heard the sound of something sucking on someone that also sounded very unpleasant. In fact, Adeleine and Olivia's faces turned green at the sight of it.
Charmy- …all of this crazy, yet brutally painful boobytraps will do them in before Mario and the others find us.
