There they were, just the two of them, tied up at Bueno Nacho headquarters, and Ron had just confessed his feelings for her. He said that there are guys out there better for her than Eric, to which she asked if he really thinks there's a guy out there for her. Not only did the blonde say, "Out there. In here," but the hesitation in his voice and lack of eye contact told Kim that he was talking about himself. Sure, he didn't say "I like you, Kim," but he might as well have.

A multitude of thoughts and feelings coursed through the red head as Rufus lasered the ropes. Her best friend of 12 Years liked her. How was she supposed to process that? It's not like she never thought about it, but thinking about it and acting on it were two completely different things. She never saw the awkward but adorably goofy boy as anything more than a friend growing up. She never even entertained the idea of the two of them being more than friends until they got to high school.

It's not like anything about Ron's personality or appearance changed, but his location did. 2 weeks before the start of ninth grade, he went on vacation, which his parents dubbed Tech free. Not being able to see or communicate with him caused Kim to really miss him. It reminded her of the time he went to summer camp. 1 week without the boy she had been in separable with since Pre-K wasn't easy. Yeah, the vacation was only one week longer than camp, but it was doubly worse for her.

Even after being untied, fighting the bad guys and saving the day, Kim couldn't stop thinking about Ron's Confession. Good thing she could multi task. Just like she couldn't ignore Shego's punches, she couldn't ignore her pounding heart. It had been doing that since her best friend confessed to her. Sure, the adrenaline from the fight probably made it worse, but that's not why it started. It was Ron who made her heartbeat quicken and butterflies flutter in her stomach.

She wanted to be with him. That's right. Kim possible wanted to date Ron Stoppable. But what if it didn't work out and they broke up? Could they still be friends? Was she willing to risk a 12 year friendship that could last forever?

"Deal with it, dude. It's over," the teenage boy said with a confident grin as he shut the doors of the police van.

Kim looked at that confident smile and was instantly filled with confidence in them. It was worth the risk, and besides, they were always going to be friends. She knew their friendship could survive anything.

"You know, Ron, we better hurry," Kim stated, hoping she sounded and looked like she was flirting.

Ron looked at Rufus and then back at his best friend, confused. "Hurry where?"

"You'll see," the redhead said as she grabbed his hand and led him to her house.

Back at Kim's house, she asked Ron to put his suit back on while she changed. While changing back into her blue prom dress, that was now singed at the bottom, she felt excited and nervous at the same time. After doing her hair and applying just a little bit of makeup, she left her room and stopped at the top of the stairs. She couldn't help but blush at seeing Ron wearing his suit that matched her dress. The young woman began walking down the stairs and felt her heart pick up speed when Ron's eyes popped out of his head and his jaw hit the floor.

"Hey," She said once she reached him.

He picked his jaw up off the floor and shook his head before responding. "H-hey."

She was Kim possible. She could do this. The nervous girl took a deep breath before saying, "I like you."

"I l-like you too," The blonde boy replied with eyes as wide as saucers, rubbing the back of his neck.

Kim giggled. "I know."

"How?"

"You practically said it at Bueno Nacho headquarters."

"Oh. Right." He paused, avoiding eye contact. Then, he looked at his best friend tenderly and asked, "Be my prom date, KP?"

She smiled. "Yes."

"Booyah!"
