David was smiling as he toured on a rare day off in one of his favorite comic stores on Free Comic Book Day, something he hasn't done in years and figured he would take the opportunity to do so.
No matter how old he gets, he will always feel like a little kid when he goes to a comic shop or a con, to seeing people in amazing costumes that he loved seeing (and the occasional celebrity he could get a glimpse at).
He was also happy that his 10-year-old son, Drew, was coming with him, which also gives Claudia time to herself.
"This is cool, Dad," Drew said as he looked in awe at the busy place with all the lines for autographs of some of the artists and whatever is new in the comic book world.
"Yes, it is." David agreed, smiling at his son's enthusiasm.
His joy grew when he heard a familiar voice from behind and saw that Colby was there with his daughter, Freyja.
"Hey, Granger, fancy seeing you here." David said
"Hey, Freyja has really taken to the comics in the last few months." Colby said with a smile, thinking about how happy Liz was for their daughter's new hobby.
"Hey, the more the merrier." David said as he watched Drew running excitedly ran with Freyja to a booth with their fathers not too far behind.
It was a great day indeed.
