And that would officially end the special.
I hope you enjoyed it and that you also read my other stories.
Until then
You could feel the warmth coming from Inkwell Hell from afar. The cave that was outside the city led into it. A dangerous place. Many toons avoid this place and only a few go there. For good reason. Besides the entrance to Hell, the Devil's Casino was also located there. This was still open and had daily visitors. And this despite the fact that the two brothers had defeated the devil with the help of Dorothy.
But that's not why they were here. No, they were here because the devil had kidnapped something or someone that meant a lot to Dorothy. She was determined to face the devil again. Although she had said that she would never enter this place again. But unfortunately the devil had kidnapped her daughter. Alicia meant a lot to her. She liked her as much as John. Just like a mother did. Therefore, she decided to gather her courage and face the devil and his right hand man again to save her daughter. Dolly took a deep breath as she stood with the two brothers in front of the cave on the red carpet with a golden border at the end of which were the words "TRY YOUR LUCK".
Dolly already knew or suspected where the devil was holding her daughter. In his tower next to the casino. That's where she would be. But the three would not get there so easily. The devil was clever. He would not let them walk into his tower just like that. No, it would not work without a fight. Surely King Dice has the key to the gate that leads to the tower. The gate was closed, as Dolly and the two brothers suspected. "Well great and what now?" asked Cuphead as he stood with his brother and Dolly in front of the gate that smiled mischievously at them. Literally. "Well, I guess we'll have to pay a visit to a colleague with a Dice for a head," suggested Dolly, who showed as much enthusiasm as the two brothers.
Well Dolly was more worried about her daughter and angry at the same time. Therefore, it was no wonder that she first went to the entrance of the casino and opened the door. Both brothers followed her into the casino, which was crowded. In the main hall where Dolly and the two brothers were, there were several gaming tables. From blackjack to roulette, there was everything there was in a casino. Some doors led to other gaming tables or even to other games of chance and betting, such as horse racing. There was a lot of smoke and fumes coming from one lounge as a toon left it. Both brothers coughed as they briefly inhaled the smoke. Dolly, however, did not. She waved the smoke away and looked toward a spiral staircase behind a craps table where two bears were playing with one of the casino employees. It was Chips Bettigan.
She knew that this would lead her to the second floor. There she would find the office of the manager. And she would like to talk to him. "Come on you two, we need to have a word with the manager" she said and walked with a light stomp towards the spiral staircase, not knowing that Chips was watching her and the two brothers while he was busy with the two bears that had just lost. "Ah damn I thought I had more luck this time!" said one of the two bears who had just lost while the other one was happy as a lark.
Climbing the spiral staircase, the white office door smiled cheerfully at the three they approached. With each step she took towards the door, Dolly became more and more angry. The doorknob was within her reach and she reached for it while Cuphead and Mugman cracked their hands and heads. Well, it was more like they turned their heads 360 degrees before they went through the door with Dolly. "Where is she!" asked Dolly as she walked into the office with the two brothers. The door closed behind them. The manager heard it but still showed his back to the three while sitting in his office chair and lighting a cigar before slowly turning around to face the three. "Who do you mean Dolly?" he asked her with a mischievous smile.
"You know exactly who we mean Dice!" "Yeah, where's our friend Alicia!" both brothers said annoyed as they slapped their hands on his office desk while he just took a puff from the cigar and blew the cloud of smoke on the two brothers. Both coughed even more than before and waved the smoke away to be able to breathe at all. "She's not here, or do you see a young six-year-old girl running around here somewhere?" he lifted his feet and rested them on the table while leaning in his chair and taking another puff from his cigar. "If you're looking for her you'll just have to go to the boss".
All three knew that this was not so easy. They needed the key that was in King Dice's jacket pocket, glaring at them. "We would, but unfortunately the gate is closed and we need the key that's in your jacket pocket!" said Cuphead pointing to it. The manager also looked at it before putting the half-smoked cigar into an ashtray that was already full of ash.
"And you think I'm just going to hand this one over to you?" he asked the three with a mischievous grin. None of them gave him an answer. They all just looked annoyed. Dolly even more than annoyed. She was furious. "Well, think again my good ones!" he closed his jacket and the green glow in his eyes returned. "Without a fight you won't get the key and you won't get to the boss and your friend!" as he said this the room changed. The office table became a game table similar to the one when they fought him back then. Both brothers knew what he was up to and got ready while Dolly just watched.
She could do nothing but watch the manager fight the two brothers. Fortunately, she didn't have to write anything down because the story is already completely written down in the book. Watching and hoping that the two brothers would win was the only thing she could do now. Of course she was worried about her daughter. After all, she did not know what the devil was up to with her. Alicia. My little Wolf. We will come and free you from the clutches of the devil. Dolly let a tear fall and hoped her daughter was okay and that she would free her soon. She knew that John her son was safe with Bon Bon for the moment.
"Show me what you got, you two mugs!" said King Dice to the two brothers who were now as small as a mouse standing on the table. They both pulled out their finger guns and were surrounded by his poker cards which slowly approached the two brothers. Both brothers were back to back looking at the poker cards grimly and smugly grinning. "Ready Mug?" Cuphead asked his brother "Ready Cup" at the tip of his finger appeared an orange as well as a purple glow. The cards rushed at them while both brothers fired their finger guns at them.
While a fight was going on in the manager's office, Alicia slowly woke up. She was still not thinking clearly when she opened her eyes and looked at the surroundings. She saw nothing but darkness and the very bed she was lying in. It was a queen size bed with red bedding, comforter and pillows that had a gold border. The bedposts on the head side were white and resembled marble. Next to the bed one both sides were nightstands, but they were covered behind by a dark red curtain that went all the way around the bed. Alicia looked over herself but realized that there was no ceiling where the curtains were attached. She was staring into the darkness and it worried her a lot. But the blanket and the pillow were very cozy.
She had never sleep in such a cozy bedspread before. Not even her grandmother's was so cozy like this one. She would have liked to stay here, but then she saw the ring on her finger. Alicia knew that she was not safe. No, she had been kidnapped by the devil who wanted to make her his queen. "Stupid ring, get off my finger!" she said as she tried to get it off. But it stayed on no matter how hard she pulled on it.
It stuck around her finger as if the ring had been attached to her finger with glue. And that frustrated her very much. She sighed. Actually, she didn't want that. She just wanted to return to her brother, her Family, her Friends and her aunt. But she could forget that. Only now did Alicia realize that this place seemed familiar to her. The bed and the darkness were just like those in her recurring nightmare. Only she was not a young adult. She was still six years old.
It went cold down her spine when she realized that. No, that couldn't be true, could it? Well, in her nightmare she always looked above her and saw two yellow shining points that slowly became eyes that resembled the devil. Alicia did just that and became more and more frightened. Unfortunately, she was right. Above her were two yellow glowing eyes looking down on her like street lamps. She flinched when she saw them and immediately looked away and was about to close her eyes when she saw the two giant furry arms and legs lying around the bed. Her heart raced as the left claw slowly approached her while she closed her eyes. Normally now she would wake up sweating with fear and screaming for her mother. But instead she felt that the giant hand had grabbed her.
"Open your eyes Alicia my little princess" said the voice next to her that was very close. She didn't want to open her eyes but unfortunately curiosity won. Slowly she opened them and was startled to see that she was in the huge hand or claw of the devil who was grinning at her with a mischievous seductive grin. "Sleep well my dearest?" his claw moved slowly and tenderly over her head down to her cheek and up to her chin which he lifted slightly so that she looked into his eyes.
She said nothing as she tried not to scream in fear. No, she didn't want to be the scaredy-cat anymore. But despite her efforts, fear was stronger and won. That's why she tried to free herself from his hand but she was too weak. "Let me go, I want to go back to my mom, my family, friends and my brother!" she said while trying to free herself but the devil still held her tightly in his hand. "Why should I do that?" he asked her, lifting her chin again.
"Because I don't want to be a princess and I'm afraid of you!" she screamed while tears slowly came out of her eyes which the devil wiped away while he continued to grin at her. "Why not? You would be a beautiful princess and queen for me" yes he didn't want to let her go that was clear. "But I'm only six years old and much too young to get married or even to become a queen!" Alicia didn't want either one or the other, "I just want to go back home to my family and friends!".
The devil, however, just grinned when Alicia said that while she lowered her head and stood up with her in his hand. She thought he would really let her go but unfortunately she was wrong. "I'm sorry I have to say this, but I'm afraid this will not happen, my little princess," he said and walked with her through a door he was heading for and found himself with her in the throne room. Alicia saw the hellish landscape in the distance.
All the volcanoes from which lava flowed, the lava lakes and generally the red mist that surrounded everything. The throne with a red seat cushion and golden border looked even more threatening than usual. Alicia wanted to get out of here, but the devil was still holding her. Only this time not in his hand but in his arms. Her face touched his soft black fur.
It was pleasant, but she did not feel very comfortable. No, she didn't want to stay here any longer and tried to jump out of his arms, but unfortunately he held her too tightly as she could and had to watch him sitting on his throne and playing with her brown hair. "Hmm black would suit you better as a hair color" said the devil as he stroked her cheek. Alicia said nothing. She didn't know what to say either. Black hair. Well, she always wanted to have some like her cousin. But she was born with brown hair. Neither she nor the devil could change that. "May be Hmpf!" She pouted and didn't look him in the eye. "I have to admit it's kind of cute when you're angry" the devil said and continued to caress her while Alicia, still in his arms, tried to free herself.
She made it and landed on his lap and wanted to jump down from them but the devil stopped her. "No we won't run away my dearest!" he said with a grin while Alicia was only more annoyed than before and now sat on his lap. "I'm not your dearest!" she said annoyed. "Please let me go I want to see my mom again" she begged him. But the devil was against it. He pulled her closer to him so that her face was again in his fur and the devil purred lightly. He liked it. Alicia, however, did not. "Why should I let such a beautiful creature like you go?" he asked her. "Because I am much too young to be your queen!" Yes, the devil knew that she was six years old and not yet old enough to marry at all. "Oh I know that" he said and lifted her chin so that she looked into his eyes.
Alicia didn't know why, but she already suspected that what he would say next would not bode well. "I know you're not old enough to be my queen yet," she swallowed nervously as she stared into his eyes, which were slowly turning a reddish hue. "But that won't stop me from keeping you here until you are old enough to be my queen". Alicia already knew it and yet she was trembling even more than before. She felt like a pig being fattened up only to be slaughtered when the time came. Only she was not a pig and the devil did not want to slaughter her. No, she should stay here with him until she was grown up to become his wife and queen.
And she didn't want that at all. Therefore, she took the opportunity while the devil looked at his claw and jumped down from his lap and the throne. He saw it and got up while Alicia ran away. She ran as fast as she could, hoping very much not to get caught in the devil's clutches again. The gate leading out of the throne room was right in front of her. She only had to open one side of the gate and she had escaped from the throne room.
But the devil did not let Alicia escape so easily. She barely managed to open the gate before he grabbed her. "Let me go!" she said as he lifted her up by her collar and walked with her back to the throne. She struggled and fought back with light punches, but the devil didn't mind. He just grinned and sat down on his throne and put her in his cross-legged seat while he prevented her from escaping with his arms. "You thought I would let you escape so easily, didn't you?" he grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. Tears slowly flowed down her eyes. She desperately wanted to be reunited with her mother, her family and her friends and acquaintances and not stay here in Inkwell Hell forever and ever with the devil. "Don't cry, my love," but she cried. She could do nothing but cry.
She lowered her head and curled up while the devil caressed her cheek. "You'll get used to this place quickly" he said and continued to caress her. But Alicia did not really calm down. She was crying. Yes, she regretted following the Bracelet. She regretted it very much. "Don't worry, you'll soon forget about the others and be happy with me" he continued to caress her while Alicia continued to cry and didn't want to believe it. It certainly felt that way. "Maybe something to drink will cheer you up my dearest" before Alicia could say anything a black cup with a handle appeared in her hand. The end of the handle ended with a devil's tail. She looked into the cup which was warm. It was a brown liquid. Alicia smelled the steam coming out of the cup.
It was hot chocolate. She took a sip of it and cried no more. The hot chocolate the devil had conjured up for her was one of her favorites. Little marshmallows were floating in it. She took another sip and her upper lip had a chocolate beard. The devil smirked when he saw that. Alicia was no longer crying but was very engrossed in her hot chocolate. So much so that she didn't even notice that he pulled her closer and almost hugged her.
While the devil continued to watch Alicia drink her hot chocolate with pleasure, the fight was over in the manager's office. The manager had been defeated. Again and handed the key to Dolly and the two cups. With it in hand, the three made their way to the exit of the casino. "But don't think that the boss will let the girl go just like that!" the three heard even before the door closed. Dolly feared that the devil would not hand over her daughter so quickly. No, he will keep her with all his means. Without a fight this will not be. "Don't worry, we'll get Alicia out of his clutches," Cuphead tried to cheer Dolly up. She knew that he meant well for her. She didn't blame him for being afraid for her daughter.
The devil could have done whatever to her. She didn't want to make it up to herself what a fear she probably had. Alicia my little wolf mommy will be right with you! Dolly and the two brothers walked up to the gate and opened it with the key. Now nothing stood in their way to climb up the tower to the throne room. There Alicia would surely be held captive. So they went on their way. Dolly ran up the stairs while both brothers ran after her. She saw the gate from afar and pressed her hand against it to open the gate. Both brothers helped her and pushed with their elbows against the gate, which slowly opened with a loud creak.
When it was open enough to pass through, the three went through and ran to the end. It was getting harder and harder to breathe for Dolly and the two boys. But no one wanted to give up, so they kept going and there was the throne on which the devil sat with Alicia on his lap. "Alicia!" cried Dolly when she saw her daughter. "Mom?" Alicia looked around as she heard someone calling her name until she saw her mother approaching her. "Mom!" Alicia was more than happy to see her mother again. She ignored the devil who was more than angry. Actually, the three of them were not supposed to know where the key was. He told King Dice to hide it well. But apparently that was not enough. Alicia jumped down from his lap and ran to her mother who embraced her with open arms. "Mom I missed you very very very much!" she said while tears ran from her eyes. Dolly also had to drop a tear as she held her daughter in her arms again "I missed you very much too my little wolf" she slowly stroked her cheek and squeezed her tightly.
"Please don't let me stay here anymore mom I want to get out of this place I want to go back home" Alicia pleaded her mother as she clung to her. Dolly knew that Alicia was afraid. She couldn't blame her. She also felt uncomfortable here. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you never return to this place ever again!" with these words Dolly ran off with her daughter in her arms while the two brothers backed her up and fought against the now raging devil.
"Dolly you and Alicia run on out of the cave we'll hold the devil back as best we can!" Dolly nodded and ran on. The gate was still half open through which she came with the two brothers. Only a few more meters and the two would be free. But suddenly the ring that was around Alicia's ring finger began to glow red. Both saw it and were more than confused when suddenly a long chain appeared on which was now tied around the waist of Alicia that led to the throne. Dolly followed it with her eyes and to her shock she already guessed which other end it was attached to.
A nasty laugh was heard as the devil approached the two. "Did you really think you could escape from my kingdom with your daughter just like that?" Alicia shivered even more and buried her face in her mother's T-shirt while tears slowly fell from her eyes. She didn't want to go back to the devil. The latter approached Dolly while taking the chain from the ground in his hands. Dolly held Alicia tightly in her arms and stared angrily at him while he stretched out his hand. She guessed what he wanted from her "Your daughter. Give her to me and no one will get hurt" Alicia was trembling even more than before when she saw that the devil was now very close to her and her mother. No, she did not want to stay with him. No way. Dolly didn't want to leave her here either. "Only over my dead body you will get my daughter!" she said while the devil became more and more angry.
"Oh yeah?" the devil pulled the chain connecting him to Alicia and pull her to him. Dolly held her daughter tightly in her arms but the devil was stronger and she threatened to fall out of her arms. "No! I don't want to be separated from my mother!" Alicia screamed as she held onto her mother's Arms while the devil continued to pull her towards him. Dolly tried to hold her tightly in her arms. But unfortunately she could not hold her daughter in her arms any longer. No, please don't! She didn't want that to happen, that she would lose her daughter. She loved her daughter more than anything. More precisely, she loved her two children. The thought of not being woken up in the morning by her giggles or her clinging to Dolly's leg and telling her how much she loved her Mom made Dolly more than sad.
No she did not want to leave her daughter to the devil. But unfortunately he was stronger. Dolly felt her daughter's hand slowly pull out of hers. She could no longer hold on to her mother and was drawn to the devil who grinned mischievously and held Alicia in his arms. "At last you are with me again my dearest" Dolly who landed on the floor by the devil's pull and supported herself with her hands saw how he had her daughter in his hands.
Alicia was even more afraid than before when she looked into the eyes of the devil who grinned seductively at her while slowly stroking her cheek with his hand. "You will stay here with me until you are old enough. Then you will become my wife and my queen!" he said and wanted to go back to the throne with her, but both brothers stood in his way. "Let our friend go!" "Yes, she is Dolly's daughter and not your future wife and queen!" but the devil did not even think of letting her go.
In his free hand appeared his trident, which he used to push the two brothers away so that he could return to his throne with Alicia. But both brothers kept appearing in front of him, which was getting on his nerves. "Get out of my way you two mugs!" the end of his trident burned as he pointed it at the two brothers. Alicia's eyes widened as did those of the two brothers. "You stay away from my dearest Alicia or I will turn you two into shards!" both brothers swallowed nervously. They knew it would not end well for them. But they both wanted to save Alicia. That's why they were here. So both brothers summoned up all their courage and prepared their finger pistols, which lit up again. This time red and faced the devil.
This one was ready to wipe out both cups once and for all. But it did not come to that. The chain to which he was tied with Alicia suddenly lit up blue "What the-" the glow became more intense and brighter so that everyone closed their eyes not to be blinded by the bright light. They didn't see it, but they could hear the chain breaking. Alicia opened her eyes first and saw that she was no longer tied to the chain and immediately ran to her mother who was standing up. "Mom!" heard Dolly as she looked in front of her and held her arms open into which Alicia jumped. "Oh my dearest" she was very happy to finally have her daughter with her again. In her arms.
Not pleased was the devil who was now even angrier than before. Both brothers knew that it was not good to stay here longer. "I think we better get out of here before he explodes!" shouted Cuphead as he ran past Dolly and Alicia with his brother. They both heard it and saw the devil, who was now on fire, slowly growling as he approached them. Alicia got even more scared than before and really wanted to get away from the devil.
"Come back with my princess!" roared the devil as he ran after the four, looking even more menacing than before. The four approached the gate, which was fortunately still open. Out of it they ran down the stairs until the four came to the front door and out of it ran to the gate. The entrance to Inkwell Hell was already within reach. They only had to run a few more meters and they were out and outside the city.
But unfortunately, the devil did not let them go so easily. Suddenly the ground shook under their feet and a huge shadow appeared overshadowing the group. Everyone looked at it and was shocked to see that the devil was closer to them than they had hoped. Only now he was no longer small but huge. Or rather gigantic? Hard to say because the group saw only his upper body. The rest was covered by the casino and the tower.
"C-c-c-cuphead w-w-w-what should we d-d-d-d-do now?" asked Mugman with a trembling voice when he saw the devil. Cuphead, who had always been the braver of the two, was now trembling as well. "The only thing we can do now is run for it!" Dolly, still holding her daughter in her arms, followed the two as she saw the devil trying to grab her and her daughter with his massive hand. "You can't escape me!" he roared as he reached out and missed her. He saw Dolly running with the others towards the exit. "Aaahhh! You will not take my future queen away from me Dorothy!" furious he got up and followed Dolly who was trying to run to the exit with her daughter. But every time the devil's feet touched the ground, they both flew in the air for a moment and had to stand firmly before they could continue running. Alicia looked over her mother's shoulder and saw the gigantic claw reach for her and her mother until a white beam caught it and the hand retreated.
It was Cuphead who was able to prevent this by using his Super Arts I, giving Dolly the chance to escape from the cave while the devil healed his hand from pain and roared again. It was heard from outside. "You can't protect your daughter from me forever Dorothy Powell! Sooner or later she will come to my kingdom and be mine!" the four could hear before they reached the town and were back in the marketplace resting from all the running.
Cuphead and Mugman gasped while Dolly exhaled and hugged her daughter tightly. Alicia was still crying. She had not forgotten the words the devil had said. "Alicia are you all right my dearest?" asked Dolly looking at her. Alicia was still crying in her shoulder and said nothing. Dolly didn't blame her. "Don't worry the big bad kitty cat is gone and won't hurt you anymore" she tried to calm her daughter but it didn't work. She was still crying and still clutching her mother's T-shirt. Even when her brother and aunt Bon Bon appeared, she was still crying. "Alicia, what's wrong? You're safe from the devil!" Alicia sniffled and wiped away her tears before looking at her mother who was still worried about her. "Mom, I didn't mean for any of this to happen!" she said in a sad voice and buried her face in her T-shirt and continued to cry.
Dolly didn't know what she meant at first until it clicked in her head. Alicia didn't want to be kidnapped by the devil. She didn't want to put anyone in danger. No, she just wanted to make a great gift for her mother for Mother's Day. But instead she was kidnapped and her mother had to rescue her with the help of the two brothers. The others saw that she felt guilty. "Oh Alicia you don't have to feel bad about it" Bon Bon said in a soft voice as she walked over to Dolly and her and slowly stroked her brown hair with her hand. Alicia calmed down but she still didn't feel well. Even though she was free of the devil, she still hadn't found a present for her mother. "But we still haven't found a present for our mother!" she sobbed. "Oh my little wolf I don't need a present when I have you two" Dolly tried to cheer her up until Bon Bon thought of something and smiled.
"Actually, your two children have prepared a gift for you Dolly" Alicia and Dolly looked confusedly at the Baroness "What do you mean Bon Bon?" asked Dolly to her. The Baroness grinned smugly at the two. Dolly knew the look she gave her and knew what it meant. She wouldn't tell her so easily. No. She would rather show her. That is why it was not difficult to guess that Dolly returned to the second island with her two children and the two brothers. It sounded like Bon Bon had something in her castle for Dolly that must be the Mother's Day gift she was talking about. Was she excited? Yes, a little. But she was more or less glad that her daughter was back with her and no longer in the clutches of the devil.
She didn't want to imagine what he would have done with her if she had stayed in his realm. She quickly shook the thought away before she went with the others to the cupcake house that belonged to Bon Bon. The Baroness went behind the counter and bent down to lift something. Well, she wanted to, but she looked at Dolly before she could do that. This confused Dolly a bit until she knew what Bon Bon meant. She should turn around so she doesn't see her gift.
This one was not ready yet. Something was missing. One could say it was the cherry on top of the cream, but in reality only the icing was missing, which both siblings added before showing the cake to their mother, who still kept her eyes closed. "Can I look now?" she asked curiously while both siblings giggled. Bon Bon also giggled when she saw Dolly trying to walk around the room with her eyes covered. "Yes you can open your eyes Dolly" both brothers giggled as well.
Dolly slowly took her hands away from her eyes as she looked at the sales counter and saw the beautifully decorated cake her two children had baked with the help of Bon Bon. Well, rather Bon Bon baked the cake while she was watching John so they could surprise their mother. Well Dolly was more than surprised about it and was very happy about the cake. So much so that she hugged her two children and thanked them with kisses on the cheek for the gift. Both siblings were pleased and happy that their mother liked their gift. Although Dolly could not take the cake with her, she ate a piece of it before she and her two children made their way back to the cottage to return to their world. James, her husband, must be worried about her and must have already prepared breakfast.
But even though she knew Alicia was safe, she couldn't get the sentence out of her head. It was like an earworm, only worse.
"You can't protect your daughter from me forever Dorothy Powell! Sooner or later she will come to my kingdom and be mine!"
She could not get this sentence out of her head. Why did he want to make her daughter his queen when he had more than enough female demons who could be his queen? Alicia was not even close to being ready to be a queen. Especially because she was still too young and afraid of him. But he wasn't here and that reassured Dolly who enjoyed the rest of the day with her family and completely forgot about the devil.
Yes the rest of the day she spent with her family in their world. They watched movies together, played board games, went for walks outside and enjoyed being together. In the evening she put Alicia to bed while James put her son to bed. "Mom..." said Alicia still a little worried. "Yes my little wolf?" Dolly looked at her with a smile to reassure her. She waited to hear what her daughter was going to say. "Can you sleep with me in my bed tonight?" Alicia asked her mother with the hope that she would say yes.
"Of course my little wolf" she said and nudged her nose making Alicia giggle. Dolly lifted the covers and lay down next to her daughter. This calmed Alicia down a lot and she immediately fell asleep as she snuggled up with her mother. Dolly, however, did not fall asleep immediately but looked at the bookshelf next to the bed. On it was the Cuphead book that Dolly wanted to take out of her daughter's room so that the devil couldn't kidnap her. But it was already late so she let it be and wanted to do it tomorrow. Now she wanted only one thing. Sleep like the others in the house. James lay in his and Dolly's bed while John lay in his bed sleeping. Alicia was also fast asleep like her mother and didn't notice the book opening and someone coming out of it.
A claw rose from the book. It was the devil who came out of the book and looked at the bed where Alicia and her mother were lying. Dolly held her daughter tightly in her arms. He wanted to take her into the book, but Dolly held her too tightly for him to take her. Her mother would notice and so would Alicia. So he let it be. But not before he gave Alicia a kiss on the cheek "Don't worry, you'll be mine soon enough" he said before he went back into the book and disappeared.
But Alicia felt the kiss and slowly opened her eyes to look around her room. However, she saw no one except herself and her mother. This confused her very much. But she didn't think about it anymore and slept on, not knowing that the devil still has an eye on her.
