Please try to stick with me as I try to write out a way to fix season 6's ending lol.

So part one is around season 6/or season 7 of the flash, part two is around season 8 of the flash and part three right before-beginning season 9 i.e., My attempt of explaining what Barry meant by "Off World".

Please enjoy my first ever Karamel story (technically, I've written other things including Melissa and Chris but they weren't Kara and Mon-El...more like adult Marley and Jake Riley w/ original characters. Let me know if you're interested. A warning for that story is that they're not exactly the main characters, they share "the stage").

SUMMARY: Something isn't right.

Wedding Reception - Prologue

The music was blaring from the speakers, its beat reverberating through the walls, and the dance floor is packed with people moving to the rhythm. The air was thick with the energy of the crowd as bodies swayed and bounced, lost in the infectious melodies and pulsing bass lines.

Amidst the pulsating beats and the sea of bodies on the dance floor, Winslow Schott could be seen pushing his way through the crowd, his brown eyes searching for a familiar face.

As he reached the edge of the dance floor, he caught a glimpse of Kara chatting with James by the bar. Kara was holding a glass of Alderbaranian rum, which she had been drinking heavily all night. She's even started to slur her words and sway slightly.

Winn sighed and made his way over, weaving in and out of the throngs of people, until he finally reached his friend's side.

"Kara!" He shouted over the music, trying to make himself heard. "Let's go somewhere quieter?" he asked.

"Hey Winn!" Kara nodded. "Sure," she said, patting James' arm and leading the way through the crowd towards a quieter corner of the venue where they could talk.

Winn looked at the drink in her hand and raised an eyebrow. "Kara, what are you doing?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. "You never drink."

Kara shrugged, taking a sip of her drink. "I know," she said. "But I just wanted to let loose and have some fun. It's a big night for Alex, and I don't want to be a stick in the mud."

"Are you sure that's all it is?" he asked skeptically. "I mean, you're not exactly the partying type." Winn looked at her with concern. "Is this about William? I didn't get to ask at the funeral, but how are you feeling?" he asked.

Kara took a deep breath and looked down at her feet. "I'm sad about it, of course," she said. "But it didn't work out between us…so it's not like we were in dating or whatever."

Winn nodded understandingly. He remembered Kara mentioning that she was thinking about dating William, but he also knows of Kara's complicated history when it comes to love.

"So, how are you feeling in general?" he asked.

Kara sighed and took another sip of her drink. "I don't know, Winn," she said. "I don't think I'm meant to be in love. It's not in the cards for me."

Winn frowned. "What are you talking about? You had Mon-El. And even though that didn't work out, you did loved him. And, you have liked plenty of people before. That's nonsense."

Kara's eyes flickered with pain at the mention of Mon-El's name, recalling a similar conversation with Barry a few years ago. "Yeah, I did," she said quietly. "But it was never going to work out between any of them, superheroing always comes in the way." She struggled to swallow.

"Besides!" She said a little too loudly, "Mon-El is never coming back...and-and it's not just him! Like-like you said, I've tried so many times, with so many people, and it never works out."

Winn shook his head. "That's not true, Kara. Maybe you just haven't found the right person yet."

Kara looked at him, her eyes glassy with tears. "But what if there is no right person for me?" she asked. "What if I'm just meant to be alone?"

Winn took a step closer to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "That's not true either," he said firmly.

"You have so many people who love you, Kara. Here in this century, Alex, J'onn, Kelly, James, Esme, Nia, Sam, Lena, even Brainy. And literally everyone in the future, especially the legionnaires." He chuckled as she cracked a smile. "We all care about you so much."

Kara looked at him, her eyes filling with gratitude. "I know that," she said. "But sometimes, even with everyone around me, I still feel alone."

Winn nodded in understanding. "I get that," he said. "But you can't give up on love, Kara. You never know when it might surprise you."

Kara smiled weakly. "Thanks, Winn," she said. "You always know just what to say."

Winn grinned. "That's what Super friends are for," he said. "Now, let's get you another drink. But maybe something a little less potent this time," He took the glass from her hands, "like human rum?"

Kara laughed and leaned into him as they made their way back to the bar. She may have been feeling hopeless about love, but she was grateful for her friends who were always there for her, no matter what.
