Prologue: Blissful Sanctuary

Koyumi Araragi stood on his balcony, overlooking the vast grounds of the mansion he now called home. His life had taken a turn he could never have expected. Thoughts of the events he had lived through, from the time he had wandered into the alleyway while heading home and gotten bitten by Kiss-Shot after hearing her cry and coming to investigate, to the final battle against the cheerfully psychotic Kumagawa Misogi and Kumagawa's eccentric mistress, the goddess Anshin'in aka Najimi Ajimu filled his mind. [1]

In a twisted turn of fate, he had ended up married to the main girls from both his normal life as a normal high school student and his secret life as a powerful dhampir, and in the warmth of their shared love, they had started a new life together.

As Koyumi contemplated everything that had happened, the sounds of life emanated from the mansion. His younger half-sister, Sengoku Nadeko[2], dashed past his room, her maternal instincts taking over as she rushed to soothe her crying baby.

The fraternal twins Karen and Tsukihi, Koyumi's full little sisters, conversed softly about their growing families. Karen cradled her twin babies gently, teasing Tsukihi about getting pregnant later than her.

"Ha, take that Tsu-chan! Since I'm the older one and the first to confess her love towards our beloved onii-chan, I'm the first to get pregnant and have his babies!"

Tsukihi, in turn, tenderly rubbed her swollen belly, whispering loving words to her unborn child.

Outside on the porch, Koyumi's other wife Senjougahara, and the famous female college basketball player Kanbaru, discussed their lives after becoming Koyumi's wives.

"Ever the pragmatist, huh Hitagi-kun? Even after reclaiming your inheritance from that cult that stole all your family's money and finally hooking up with the man of your dreams, you still can't help but be the cold and calculating Yakuza heiress. Well, I guess it's in your blood after all. And a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do," [3] Kanbaru stated in a rather blunt but also somewhat teasing tone, gently holding her own baby as it slept in her arms.

"Whatever, Suruga-san. Even though I am now one of Araragi-kun's wives and the head of the Yamashina organization, the family won't run itself you know. If what our agents in high places in the New World have been telling my subordinates is true, then we need to be prepared to make sure that the existence of Abnormals, as well as the Flask Plan and the other covert dealings of the Kurokami family never become public knowledge or even reach the ears of the Yanks and their rivals in the Kremlin. [4]

MK-ULTRA and the Kulagina [5] project were bad enough, but if the Company and the Directorate were to be ever able to discover that Abnormals exist, much less artificially create or train one, the world is done," Although the purple-haired woman's tone was her usual blunt, emotionless drone as she spoke, if one listened carefully one could hear the fear and worry in Senjouhara's voice at the possibility to the intelligence agencies discovering the existence of Pluses and Minuses and using them to fulfill their goal of creating psychic supersoldiers and undetectable covert operatives.

Alongside them, Mogana, the brunette, money-loving former high school swimming champion, held her own baby. As they spoke, they formed a plan to deal with the increasing threat of the Cosa Nostra [6] elements that had started to infiltrate their city.

Later that day, in the mansion's kitchen, former Student Council President Medaka Kurokami endeavored to prepare a meal for her family. Her baby cooed happily in a high chair nearby. At her side, Shinobu Oshino, the legendary vampire better known as Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, observed the scene in her adult form. She used her vampiric blood magic to indulge in various forms of amusement as she watched, her own child peacefully sleeping in her arms.

Witnessing the scene with a blend of shock and awe, Hanekawa Tsubasa, the bespectacled, black-haired former class president, breastfed her baby. Youka Naze, once known as Medaka's older sister Kujira Kurokami, shook her head at the bizarre spectacle, cradling her own baby in her arms.

"Medaka-chan always did love to go the extra mile after all," Youka/Kujira muttered under her breath as she gently rocked her sleeping child, thinking back to her days as a part of the Flask Plan before Koyumi and Medaka found out about the whole thing and burst in with their friends to try and stop it. Needless to say, Medaka had been very, very surprised when the only boy in the Araragi family had used his vampiric abilities to blitz through the other Flask Plan members and unknowingly had Kumagawa running for his life as soon as he sensed Koyumi's yoki [monster power].

After the bandages that had once covered Youka's cute face had been removed and Medaka slowly adjusted to the fact that her supposedly deceased older sister had been alive and well all this time under an alias, as part of a secret human experimentation program created by her own family, Koyumi was forced to tell the dark bluenette student council president everything about his previously secret life as a powerful dhampir who helped deal with oddities and had made the master vampire who sired him into his own familiar.

To say that both the normally calm and collected Medaka and the dead-to-the-world, uncaring about anything Youka/Kujira were surprised at the revelations would be a massive understatement. But in true Kurokami fashion, the two girls quickly got over it and Medaka even forgave Koyumi from keeping this secret from her, on the condition that he inform the other girls of the harem that he had unconsciously gathered around him that she and Youka/Kuijira were the first and second wives of the harem, and as a result, would be the first ones to be getting pregnant when the time came for such matters.

The other girls of Koyumi's harem were quite enraged when he told them of this individually, which lead to Hitagi, Tsubasa and Suruga tracking him down to the mansion where his family lived sometime after this and forcing him to marry them using Senjouhara's familial ties to the Japanese aristocracy as a means to ease the process along, Nadeko stumbling on to the three older girls about to consummate the marriage while searching for her beloved older brother and decided she wanted to get married to Koyumi as well.

It didn't really help that Kiss-Shot Under-Blade, in her child form as Shinobu Oshino, had decided to emerge from Koyumi's shadow at the exact moment Nadeko latched on to him, going unnoticed by both her master and the four other females after his heart until she choose to reveal herself as his loving maid.

That particular statement had been embarrassing, especially when Shinobu had used her powers as a true vampire/fair folk to remove everyone's clothes without any of the others realizing what was going on, and also unlocking the door of Koyumi's room and swinging it wide open to reveal a blushing Suruga Kanbaru and the other girls from Hakoniwa Academy, inclusive of the Kurokami sisters, who were later revealed to have followed Senjouhara, Hanekawa and Kanbaru when the three of them decided to stalk Koyumi home and had been trying to get into Koyumi's room to get in on the 'action'. [6]

Needless to say, Koyumi didn't get out of his room until early the next morning and all of the girls, including his younger half-sister Nadeko and his full little sisters Karen and Tsukihi, were left limping for weeks on end after the impromptu 'honeymoon' he'd had with the harem after taking the other girls as his wives.

Currently, Youka/Kujira's face turned red as she watched her beloved little sister try her hand at cooking and recalled those moments, remembering how shocked and then elated she'd been to see that single band on that pregnancy test she'd purchased a few months after that day, due a sudden onset of vomiting and moodiness.

As everyone in the room marveled at Medaka's culinary efforts and Shinobu's magical tricks, the silent brunette and ex-Public Morals Committee Chairwoman Myouga Unzen, and the ex-JSDF member turned former Public Security operative, Asako Kusakabe entered with their own babies. Their surprise was short-lived when Asako remembered how Koyumi had saved her life, going back in time to prevent a truck accident that would have left her as a ghost. Considering her current situation, being one of Koyumi's loving wives did not seem like the worst possible outcome. [8]

"Plus it was all thanks to him that Public Security was even able to catch and kill Heath Oslo before he could cause even more damage and stop the Flask Plan before the fucking Americans and vodka drinkers found out about it, though unfortunately, that bastard Kumagawa got away before we could lock down the country," Asako muttered to herself, her mind coming back to the time when she was just Mayori Hachijikuri, an ordinary fifth-grade student who had been saved by a mysterious sempai in high school from certain death, only to learn many years later that her then unknown savior was in fact the cute boy she'd been having eyes on ever since her department was given the investigation into Hakoniwa Academy's mysterious chairman and principal, the mysterious elderly man Hakama Shiranui and the school's alleged ties to human experimentation projects funded by the prestigious Kurokami family.

She hadn't even meant to intentionally find out that rather strange fact, but she'd been doing some recon on the rather vast premises of the Academy and had noted some rather strange facts about the school, such as the so-called "Public Morals Committee" actually being a paramilitary organization akin to the Hitlerjugend [Hitler Youth], the Israeli Gadna and the Komsomol [All Union Young Communist League] of the now defunct Soviet Union, [10] the near constant repairs due to 'lab accidents' and 'gang activity' and the near-universal appeal the student council president Kurokami Medaka had over the rest of the student population, much like a certain mustached Austrian painter turned dictator of Germany had over the German people in past centuries.

While she'd been sneaking up to the Student Council office, noting that the office seemed to be open even at those late hours, Asako had heard a voice she later learned was Shinobu Oshino/Kiss-Shot-Under-Blade's chastising an apologetic Koyumi for carelessly using his powers to try and change fate, to which Koyumi replied by stating he had no idea Aijmu/Anshin'in would be so powerful, or that he would be teleported back in time to the exact moment of Mayori Hajikiuji's death by an incoming truck, barely having time to push her out of the way and save her life before being sent back to his time by the unstable nature of the portal.

This strange discussion, as well as the casual way in which they discussed such a monumental and strange topic such as time travel being possible due to the existence of divine beings, drew Asako's attention and she found herself inching towards the building, curious to know more. Her main reason for this: Mayuri Hachijikuji was an existence not even Asako's bosses at Public Security knew about and she'd made all efforts to bury her past, so how did these seemingly mundane high school students even know about such a monumental event in her life, much less talk about it as if they were there and had heard and seen what had actually happened on that day?

In her curiosity to find out more, Asako had tripped on a rock and slipped, alerting Koyumi, Medaka and Mogana Kikijima, to her presence. Medaka had been quite displeased to learn that the actions of her father and her body double Hansode's grandfather had drawn the attention of the higher-ups in the Japanese power structure, to the point where they'd been forced to deploy a smoking hot MLIF of a Public Security agent to the school to investigate the misdeeds of the older generation of the Shiranui and Kurokami clans. [9] And to make matters worse, the red look that would appear on Asako's face whenever she got a look at Koyumi's muscular frame and his toned face showed the lovely dark blue-haired girl that she wasn't the only one after Koyumi's heart.

In fact, Asako had been the one to help the girls from Hakoniwa Academy locate Hitagi, Kanbaru and Tsubasa when the three girls had followed Koyumi home, and had been among the first to jump him after Shinobu/Kiss-Shot closed the door after he'd finished marrying all the girls in his harem. She'd been lonely for far too long, and he was just too good-looking, kind and selfless for her to pass up. Plus he was a rather good lover, and an excellent father if what she'd seen so far was anything to go by.

With that in mind, the woman once known as Mayori Hachijikuji decided to remain mostly silent as she and the other women watched Medaka try and cook.

Just behind Youka, the lovably eccentric light-blue-haired loli Shiranui Hansode let out a soft sigh as she watched her baby sleep gently in her small arms, its small tuft of dark blue hair indicating that the Araragi bloodline had prevailed in at least one aspect of its short life so far. "Well, at least you won't be growing up as a lonely child, won't you?" Hansode whispered to her newborn child, which caused Medaka to sigh out loud, Youka/Kujira to shake her head in confusion and Asako to deadpan.

Mukae Emukae stepped into the room, reflecting on how her love for Koyumi had freed her from her once despair-inducing personality. Her hand protectively cradled her swollen belly as she whispered lovingly to her unborn baby.

Beside the awe-struck Tsubawa, the former captain of the Third Squad of Hakoniwa's Public Morals Committee, the short and petite pinkette Harigane Onigase, covered her cute mouth to suppress her yawns before looking down lovingly at her baby, whose reddish-brown hair showed a combination of her and Koyumi's genes.

Ougi Oshino was the last to join, entering with her triplets nestled in a specially crafted basket. The other women all remarked on the strangeness of this situation, but laughter and good-natured teasing soon echoed around the room.

Meanwhile, in the crime-ridden, drug lord-run metropolises of North and Latin America, Kumagawa Misogi found himself in the role of a cartel boss, using his Abnormal powers to forge a new life after fleeing from a dragnet set up by Public Security, SAT and the National Police specifically to capture him for his role in aiding international terrorist Heath Oslo at Hakoniwa Academy. [11]

Due to his reclusive nature, strange appearance and the covert usage of his powers, he quickly rose through the ranks of the North American criminal underworld, his organization becoming one of the most feared among all the cartels. Life seemed to be good, and he couldn't be happier.

However, his past pursuits led to relentless pursuit by the FBI, CIA, and KGB, who all recognized the potential value of Abnormals to their organizations. [12]

Kumagawa soon found himself constantly hiding from the long arm of the law, using his powers to stay one step ahead of the boys in blue while also keeping his true nature secret from those around him.

As they all continued their lives in this bizarre yet loving reality, Koyumi and his wives formed the bonds of family, facing challenges together while protecting their beloved children. And so, in their sanctuary of love, the story of an unusual family continued to unfold, a tale of heartwarming triumph over the darkness of the world outside.

[1] Koyumi Araragi replaces Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, the protagonist of Nisho Issin's previous anime and manga series Medaka Box and as a result also takes over the various roles and positions Zenkichi has in canon Medaka Box, in addition to his canon role within the Bakemonogatari storyline.

[2] Why has no one ever thought of this before? Nadeko calls Koyumi onii-chan, and is quite familiar with Karen and Tsukihi despite the Araragi siblings being just her 'childhood friends', which seems to be quite the common cop-out these days in ecchi and harem manga.

[3] It is mentioned that the Senjouharas were quite wealthy and influential before Hitagi's mother got involved with the cult which led to Hitagi herself falling victim to the crab god and losing her weight as a result of not wanting to deal with her family's problems. She seems to be still quite well off even though the Bakemonogatari series and the Sengokus and Araragis seem to be pretty loaded as well, so getting back her family's rightful wealth shouldn't be a problem.

[4] American intelligence [CIA, DIA and NSA] and their Russian counterparts [FSB/KGB, GRU, and SMERSH] might be arrogant, self-righteous and delusional, but they are not stupid. Having even a single Abnormal much less the ability to create an army of said Abnormals to utilize in intelligence gathering and/or open and covert warfare would be a game-changing weapon for a Yuri Andropov or even a Woodrow Wilson, but an unmitigated disaster for the rest of the world.

[5] A series of experiments were conducted by the CIA and KGB during the Cold War to create psychic assassins.

[6] Yes, Koyumi did the dirty with all the girls in his harem after he married them. Why? Because of Shinobu/Kiss-Shot subtly influencing his mind and spreading pheromones in the air to get the other girls horny so that they'd be more willing to ride Koyumi's hobby horse, but also due to the fact that he's not an ignorant, dense p...y like some other anime and manga protagonists I have seen so far.

[7] Italian for Our Family. The real name of the organization more popularly known as the Sicilian Mafia.

[8] Guess which character from a now obscure VN, anime and manga series I made Mayori's adult self into and which VN, anime and manga franchise I took said character from...

[9] Considering how much resources Hansode's grandfather and Medaka and Youka's dad were using to help create and continue the Flask Plan and how much damage was done to the school due to the Student Council having to clean up after their elder's mistakes, I find it highly unlikely that the actions of the older Hansodes and Kurokamis would have gone unnoticed by the Japanese government.

[10] The Public Morals Committee acts a lot like a youth wing of the ruling party of a totalitarian state [Wilson's America'/'New Freedom', the Greater Germanic Empire/'Nazi Germany', the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics/Soviet Union, the Republic of China [ROC] regime which ruled China from 1912 to 1949 and Taiwan from 1949 to 1988], than an ordinary disciplinary club of an average private Japanese high school for the children of the wealthy and powerful.

[11] Considering Kumagawa's personality and the fact that All Fiction essentially makes him a god in human form I can see him doing this.

[12] As I said before, American and Soviet/Russian intelligence are selfish and greedy, but they are where they are for a reason
