Happy Thursday my darlings,

I am so, so sorry. The haze sort of won, but just for a little bit, I was just really struggling for a little there, and then the writing just wasn't coming through which kept getting me frustrated and just making it all just-?

But between sentences here and there I tried to string something together while telling myself I was not dropping this story. I finally managed to edit that into something I love and feel happy with, I know you've been waiting for a while so thank you for hanging in there.

Falling Hard

Chapter 10: Your Alpha

"You missed the part where the party was at a fraternity house" The blonde had sort of sworn he'd never step into a fraternity house after some alpha asshole had all but groped him and tried commanding him into a bedroom during his freshmen year.

"Oh, oh shit " the tall blonde turned over to him biting her bottom lip, she'd completely forgotten, she'd been a little too busy thinking about getting Naru within the raven's vicinity so their relationship could hopefully move along. Those two were running circles around each other and she wanted to scream every time she saw her best friends worrying over the raven. Those two just needed to get their head out of the gutter "I'll take you home" she said, even if she wanted to push them along, it hadn't been her intention to bring the blonde into a palace where he might not feel safe.

Naruto reached for her hand so he could stop her from walking away, he'd come with some omegas he'd met in class that he didn't know that well, they'd all hooked up with other alphas and ditched him. Ino wasn't like that, she'd never let him leave or be with someone before checking with him first "I'm sure it will be ok, I know you'll keep an eye on me"

"I have a feeling once Sasuke realizes you're in there so will he," she said winking at him.

He wanted to believe that was true, that the raven's eyes would lock on him and him alone. But he now sort of wished he hadn't skipped the blockers, it made him feel…defenseless.

But in they went, the house was two stories, the first floor was packed, and held most of the party. He looked down at his phone, should he have messaged Sasuke he was coming? Should he ask him where he was at? Or just wait to run into him?

Ino looked at her friend already getting lost in thought "Ok shots first, c'mon, T told me they were by the living area or something, look for a beer pong table" They waded through the house, music blasting, lights flashing, stopped by the kitchen to down two shots and finally found the beer pong table in what looked to be the biggest room of the house occupying almost half the first floor.

Naruto spotted T and Lee "How is it always Ino that manages to convince you to do things? No fair of you to have a favorite" Ten Ten said as he leaned over to kiss his cheek, smirking as her eyes fell on his neck "You planning on telling me about that any time soon? " she asked holding in a giggle.

Lee threw his arms over their necks, putting his weight on them and giving them a lazy smile "About what?"

"No-Nothing" The blonde muttered as he blushed, when he lifted his eyes from the floor his gaze fell on the raven all the way across the room sitting on one of the couches. He spotted Juugo and Suiegetsu along with other guys and girls he'd never met before.

He kind of got that feeling he used to get when he'd look at the 'cool kids' table back in High School. His eyes then fell on the redhead making her way to the sitting area, in cut-out levy shorts and a black crop top. There was no way to miss her curves or the way various sets of eyes around the room locked on her.

He felt the air trap on his throat when she walked over to where Sasuke was sitting dropping herself on his lap without any warning. He gripped the solo cup as the image of pushing the girl off the raven's lap played out in his head. But then something unexpected happened, Sasuke easily moved her off, looking unimpressed he just…lifted her and set her next to him. He felt liquid warmth run through him at the sight. The raven didn't even know he was there , he'd been getting ready to feel disappointment, and he'd been bracing himself to see the raven kiss the redhead.

It made him want to walk up to the raven and kiss him and at the same time he wanted to hang back and just see him. Now that he thought about it running into the raven at a party felt so different now, before he'd always seen the raven with a pretty girl or boy by his side and instantly averted his eyes, the thought of ever being the person next to him fluttering to his mind briefly before he squashed it. His hand came up to his neck his fingers tracing the place where he knew Sasuke had marked the night before.

"So are you going to go up there and do something, or are you just going to stand here waiting for other omegas to try and fall on his lap?" Ino half hollered at him as she tipped the vodka bottle into his already pretty strong cranberry vodka, he bit his lower lip tipping the cup up.

"You're a bully"

"You know they say alphas are the territorial ones but omegas get just as territorial when threatened"

He grabbed the vodka from her and tipped the bottle on her cup "Drink" She laughed pulling him over for a hug "Stay back then, let's see how long your self-control lasts"

"I need a break" Juugo muttered, he felt like hurling.

"You have no resistance whatsoever" Suigetsu snickered.

"Well if any of you pussies picked the dare instead of the shot you wouldn't be so wasted already" Hidan snapped from where he was sitting.

Pein leaned back on his seat, his eyes traveling through the room "Anyone seen him before?"

Sasuke had been tipping the beer bottle up and easily turned to see who Pein was talking about, and his eyes widened.

"Holy shit, Sasuke it looks like your puppy's out," Suigetsu said between choked laughs at Sasuke's expression. As soon as the words left his mouth the raven's foot was kicking him where he was sitting on the floor "Do not call him that"

"Well shit, that's library boy? No fucking wonder you wouldn't let up" Hidan said with a snicker, his eyes hungrily traveling over the blonde, Sasuke sat up straighter, a growl trapped halfway through his throat.

"Ugh– please if anything he's basic" Karin muttered from next to him.

"I think you're projecting," Konan said snickering from next to Pein, and through it all, he was still staring . He'd asked him to come with…multiple times, and he showed up with Ino looking like that.

He was up and walking before he even knew it "Sasuke where—" the redhead didn't even bother finishing the sentence, her words dying on her lips, letting annoyance settle over her as the raven walked through the crowd making his way to the blonde.

Ino bumped her shoulder against his, a small smirk on her lips, she leaned down by his ear "Looks like tall and handsome finally realized you're here"

He instantly turned back to where he'd seen the raven sitting earlier, the alcohol Ino had managed to get him to knock back in the last forty minutes was absolutely ridiculous and he sort of couldn't care less what anybody had to say about how fast he looked for Sasuke's dark eyes among the crowd. Finding him didn't take too long and gosh that man knocked the air out of him.

Ino cut in right before he could fully reach the blonde "Hi– hello, Ino, best friend, you know you're on thin ice already since you haven't even bothered to introduce yourself to me"

Sasuke stopped for a second, anger bubbling in his chest slightly at being kept away from the blonde, but he pushed it down, Ino was Naru's best friend, it wasn't her fault he'd been put in a mood by Peins ogling or Hidan's eyes traveling over the blonde probably trying to imagine all sorts of stupid filthy things.

He reached out, grabbing the hand she'd offered, and was slightly surprised by the contrast between the tight grip and the easygoing smile on her face "Sasuke, and just for the record I haven't been opposed to meeting you"

She let go of his hand turning towards Naru letting out an outraged gasp "Is he implying you haven't wanted to introduce me?"

The blonde rolled his eyes "and you wonder why? " He bumped his shoulder against her nudging her to stop harassing the raven "She can actually be really nice"

Naruto got shoved by a brunette her hair up in two buns "I ask again, is Ino the only friend you have or what?" Naruto chuckled "Sasuke these are TenTen and Lee"

"You can just call me T," The brunette said with a smile and Lee tipped his chin up acknowledging him and taking a sip of his drink.

Ino finally relented and winked at the blonde moving over to talk to Lee and Ten leaving the raven to finally fully walk over to him.

"Hey, I didn't know if I should messag—" Sasuke didn't let him finish as he leaned over and kissed him softly. He could see the alphas lurking around the blonde's crowd, they were looking at Naru and waiting for the right chance to approach the blonde.

He would not give them the satisfaction of getting anywhere near the blonde that night—or ever.

Naru pulled back with a slight blush on his face, butterflies dancing in his belly "People are staring" he said so low he didn't think the raven could actually hear through the music.

"Let them" Sasuke replied, probably reading his lips. He couldn't help but laugh leaning over to return the kiss "You wear this on purpose?" the raven asked as his hands fell on his hips, his thumbs running circles on the white fabric of his shirt.

"That would have been Ino" he replied

"You're so obedient when it comes to Ino" The raven rolled his eyes and Naruto snickered "What you don't like it?"

"Oh I like it" Sasuke's fingers slithered through the belt loops in his pants pulling him flush against him before he slid his arms around him in a tight hug "but for myself"

The blonde laughed "You're one to talk, plenty of eyes here are on you"

"But my eyes are on you," Sasuke said smoothly, Naruto felt the blood rise to his face, he leaned up on his tiptoes and the raven held him in place "Sorry, for turning you down, it's not that I didn't want to go out with you—it's just"

Sasuke pulled him close again, nosing along his neck "It's ok baby boy, I get it" Naruto hugged the raven and shivered as he teethed along his neck "but tell me princess are you trying to punish me right now?" He pulled back his eyes dilated.

The blonde gave him a coy smile "Think you can hold out until we get back to the apartment?" he stepped back and pulled on the raven's hand, leading him back to where his friends were dancing.

"Is this you officially asking me to go back with you?" The raven asked as he followed.

"If you behave tonight" Naruto replied, Sasuke chuckled and shook his head amused.

Naruto was a little taken aback when he fully turned to his friends and Hinata's lilac eyes met his for a second before she looked away. She must have gotten there when they were talking, he felt a little self-conscious but still couldn't get himself to let go of the raven's hand.

Sasuke fit in seamlessly, he was social by nature and could spark conversation or banter easily with Ten and Lee, even with Ino. Shots were passed around, they hyped each other to dance, and suddenly the group was bigger, as Juugo was pulling the raven away from Naruto and into a bear hug "You look like you're having fun after ditching us"

"So we came to join you" Suigetsu added, and the blonde blushed as he realized Sasuke's crowd had moved into their space. Varsity players and dolled-up girls weaved through settling around them.

A tall hunk with hair so silver it almost looked white walked right up to him and outstretched his "Hidan, feel free to slide into my DM's whenever you're done with his ass won't you?"

He was ready to tell Hidan it was rather unlikely he'd 'slide into his DM's' when Sasuke hand slapped the big hand away, it took him a second to realize that the raven was growling "Back the fuck off Hidan"

Juugo stepped between both alphas his big palm steadying Sasuke "Ok…Sasuke that was a bad joke, you know Hidan has no fucking filter"

The growling subsided but Hidan had to open his mouth again "Jesus fucking christ Sasuke, you're trying a little too hard this time around aren't you?"

Juugo's hand gripped the raven's chest tighter and Naruto squeezed Sasuke's hand signaling him to calm down, as another tall guy's face full of piercings walked over looping his arm around Hidan "Your drunk ass is about to get jumped, let's go for a walk man"

Juugo looked over at him apologetically, and after giving Sasuke a look that assured the raven he had no ill intentions, he dropped his hand and dared to walk closer to the blonde "I'm sure you've got a terrible impression of all of us by this point" Naruto bit the inside of his cheek. All he could think about when he thought about Sasuke's friends was that damn poll, and people talking about him like he was an object.

Not to mention it was still a little hard to see Karin around Sasuke knowing she'd been the one to keep any semblance of a romantic relationship with the raven for the longest. Every time he'd imagine those two together he felt like he was being gnawed at from the inside out.

"We're just a bunch of college jocks too easily influenced, we don't think before speaking sometimes" Juugo added.

"Well I tell them they're idiots all the fucking time, so feel free to do the same" a pretty girl with deep blue hair said as she stepped up to them as well "c'mon let's dance it out" Sasuke's grip on his hand tightened and Konan rolled her eyes "He's fine Sasuke" The raven took a breath and allowed Konan to ease Naruto back into the dancing crowd following closely behind.

When Pein and Hidan came back it looked like most of Sasuke's friends made sure to keep an eye on his obnoxious ass.

"I guess they're really not that bad," he said as he leaned up, more than a little tipsy at this point. They didn't owe him any loyalty but they did come together once they saw Sasuke had gotten upset to avoid any further conflict and that earned them some points.

"They can be hotheaded, but ultimately they're mostly harmless"

"Oh is that why you were about to jump Hidan?" Sasuke's hands gripped his hips "you know why he was about to get a beating"

"Would I be awful for saying I don't really mind seeing this side of yours?

"What side?"

"The possessive alpha side…you know…usually alphas only get riled up like that if…" if it was their partner, their mate being disrespected.

Sasuke's eyes felt like swirling liquid on his as Naruto felt love and affection flowing from the raven.

"Baby boy I…"

"Yeah?" He said softly his heart threatening to beat out of his chest.

"Hey, guys " and Naruto had to bite the growl that wanted to come out of his throat at the interruption as he turned towards Hinata. It had felt like Sasuke was about to…to say…he closed his eyes, it felt like Deja Vu, like when he'd asked to talk to Sasuke back when both of them had walked into the library and he'd gotten upset.

Now here he was, he could barely keep his hands off the raven and felt apprehensive at Hinata's presence. She talked to Ino, but she'd been avoiding him ever since they'd come back from break. He could understand the awkwardness, he also could understand that maybe he should have told her how he felt about the raven. He should have checked in with her and made sure things would be okay between them if he decided to get involved with Sasuke. But what good would it do? If she told him to stay away…he wouldn't have been able to…he'd been a bad friend. He knew that.

"Hey 'Nata" the blonde said uncomfortably.

"I was hoping to get a word with Sasuke" the blonde shifted in place his eyes falling on Sasuke and then back to Hinata. She probably just wanted closure…right?

"Yeah, sure" Sasuke's hand reached out for his and held him in place before he could step away, feeling panic as soon as he realized the blonde intended to leave. He didn't want to let him out of his sight "You don't have to leave"

"It's ok, I've had too many liquids, need to hunt down a restroom" He didn't actually want to leave, preferably he'd like the raven to help him find a restroom…see if they could find another use for the room. But he also knew Hinata probably wouldn't be able to say what she wanted to say with him standing right there.

He reassured the raven he'd be ok again and turned around instantly looking for Ino, before his resolve to let Hinata have a moment shattered. When he didn't spot her he walked over to Ten Ten "Ino?" the brunette who was dancing it up with one of Sasuke's friends turned over to him and shrugged "What's up?" She asked, her eyes lifting to Hinata and Sasuke talking, she was about to step away from the guy who was now glaring at him for interrupting them "Everything ok with 'Nata?"

"Yeah it's ok, I'll guess I'll do a lap and see if I can find Ino"

"Sure?" He nodded at her, he didn't necessarily need an entourage to find the restroom. So he looked around, trying to keep his eyes off Hinata as she talked to Sasuke. He wandered through and someone finally pointed him to the restroom.

"You need help getting there hon?" He grimaced, "No thanks"

"Would be happy to show you the rooms upstairs" the guy hollered after him and he rolled his eyes turning away and towards the restroom.

The door opened and he almost ran into the person walking out "Shit–Oh hey" He laughed as he grabbed Ino's waist steadying her before she could fully crash into him.

"Got a little too happy with the vodka bottle" She groaned as her head fell on his shoulder, he laughed "Did it come up?"

"No but not more vodka for me tonight"

"I'll wait for you" she muttered as she leaned against the wall her eyes falling around the room and spotting the guy that had given Naruto instructions, he was still leering at the blonde.

"I'll be quick"

Sasuke looked down at the obviously unhappy omega.

"You've been ignoring my texts"

"Hinata" he took a breath, it was harder to deal with Hinata because he knew Naru was close to her "I'm not ignoring you, we've just already had this conversation already"

She huffed "You don't get to just say you're done just like that— just like" she stopped for a second "I don't understand we were seeing each other often before the break and you just up and disappeared and I come back and" she stopped, running her hand through her silky hair "I should tell him to get as far away from you as possible, you'll do the same thing to him"

"Watch it," he said as his eyes pinning her in place "Don't try to make it sound like you'd do it to look out for Naruto" he crossed his arms "This isn't about Naru at all, so you leave him out of this"

"So you won't just fuck with him till you get bored and move on to the next person?"

"No" whatever she was about to say died on her lips.

"Yeah right"

"Listen Hinata, I tried to be really clear about the type of relationship we would be having, and I didn't make you any promises either" He let out a sigh "But I know what I did was shitty, and I'm sorry I hurt you, but I can't keep seeing you just to make you feel better"

"Is it him, are you really not seeing anybody else because of him"

"Yeah" He could feel the bitterness Hinata was letting out at the statement her eyes moving off him as she probably held off tears. She spotted the blonde trying to walk around a frat guy that was trying to get his attention and she just—she was so angry.

"Well I do hope he dumps your ass, it's about time someone fucks with you " She wanted Sasuke to hurt, she wanted Naru to hurt too, it wasn't fair, why was he special. Why could he have what she wanted so badly when he'd fallen just like all the others, he'd still given in, and he'd still slept with the raven, he was no different. The result of the relationship between them should be no different either.

So with newfound resolve, she stepped up to the raven her hands pulling him down so she could kiss him.

They were wading through the crowd and had almost reached the spot where they'd been hanging out when someone called out to Ino, he stood in place as the tall blonde looked around and locked eyes with someone, smiling at them and stopping by to say hi.

He looked between Ino who was chatting away with whoever had called her and then over to where Sasuke was still talking to Hinata, he looked frustrated, and so did she. He fidgeted in place, should he just, walk over or wait for Ino?

"Hey, Hon" Naruto looked up to see the buff guy that had pointed him towards the restrooms, he felt frustration bubble up as he got right in front of him and cut his view of the raven "looks like your alpha got busy, need someone to keep you company?" The guy continued, his alcohol-addled brain had some trouble processing the words as he tried to move to the side so he could find Sasuke in the crowd again.

"My alpha?" The sentence rang through his head and he stopped looking up at icy blue eyes "Wha? Who?"

"The tall blonde"

Naruto rolled his eyes "Ino's not my alpha"

"Oh–then, can I ask who left this" Naruto took a step back before the guy's hand could touch his neck and hissed, surprising himself.

Apparently, he found it funny because he laughed "Skittish aren't you"

He moved to the side again his eyes finally falling not only on Sasuke but on Hinana leaning up to kiss the raven.

You know I knew this part/scene would get out of control when I was on page eight and I still had plans for it. Ok but really don't hate me?I tried not to leave you on a cliffhanger but I had to pause this humongous scene somewhere!

The good news is basically this is one huge chapter being split into two, and part two is sort of finished. I think-but it needs quite a bit of editing, so I'll try so very hard to get that editing done tomorrow so you all can have the continuation no longer than sometime this weekend to make up for disappearing on you for a bit.
