Following a conversation involving Music Meister, J'onn, Alex, Mon-El, and Winn, and during which Music Meister repeatedly interrupted and insisted on being called by his real name, Darius, Alex and J'onn agreed to let Mon-El take charge.
Mon-El looked around the room, making sure he had everyone's attention. "We don't have much time," he said, his voice firm. "But we have a plan. J'onn was able to gather Superman and the Legends, so with the help of everyone, we can save Kara."
Mon-El took a deep breath and continued, "Music Meis—uh Darius, can you give us any more details on how you plan to put me in Kara's dream state?"
Music Meister nodded eagerly, "Of course, my dear Valor." He smirked at Mon-El's annoyed expression at Darius' new nickname for him.
"I have a unique ability to control people's minds and put them in a trance-like state. As long as Kara is in a dream state, I can use my powers to put you there and you'll be able to communicate with her. But since I didn't create this dream world, I don't know all of the rules, only that: 1. you won't have your powers and 2. you will need to convince Kara to wake up before the end of the dream."
Kelly nodded, "Okay, and what about the secret admirer? Any ideas on how to track them down?"
Alex spoke up, "We will be split up into three offense teams. J'onn will lead a team of a few DEO agents to find Maxwell Lord and possibly gather more information about the green and silver Kryptonite, the Legends and Superman will travel on the wave raider to check for other possible anomalies connected to this, while I will lead the rest of us to investigate who the secret admirer is."
Winn piped up, "I'll work with Alex's team to create a program to analyze the data and create a profile of the suspect. And maybe we can use facial recognition software to track them down."
Mon-El nodded in agreement, "With J'onn providing feedback, Brainy and Lena will work on a way to counteract the effects of the Kryptonite, so they can cure Kara as soon as she wakes up." He looked around the room at everyone's determined faces.
Mon-El continued, "Lastly, when Eliza arrives she will be in charge of monitoring Kara and Nia, while Nia will act as a liaison between Kara's dream state and the real world. She'll be able to tell you all what's happening to Kara and guide me through the dream."
The room fell silent for a moment as everyone took a deep breath, preparing for what's to come. When J'onn spoke up. "Let's get to work," he said.
With that, the team began to disperse, each taking on their respective roles. Mon-El could feel the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders, but he knew that together, they would do whatever it took to bring her back.
Before Alex left with her team, she assisted Brainy and Lena with the logistics of placing Mon-El into Kara's dream state. She placed a couple of wires and electrodes on his face and chest to monitor his well being.
When finished, Alex asked Brainy, Nia, Darius and Lena for a minute alone with Mon-El. She took a deep breath and turned to Mon-El, who was lying on a gurney next to Kara' cryo-chamber.
"Promise me you'll get her back," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Mon-El looked up at her, determination etched on his face. "I promise you, Alex. With everything that's in me, I won't let her die."
Alex nodded, grateful for his words (and presence). She didn't want to admit this out loud to him but having him here, gave her a sense of relief. Satisfied with his answer, she waved Music Meister, Nia, Lena, and Brainy back into the room and stepped aside as Nia took her place on her gurney.
Lena and Brainy gave the go-ahead, and Music Meister began to work his magic.
Mon-El closed his eyes as he felt Music Meister's power take over his mind. He saw flashes of Kara's memories before everything faded to black. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes to find himself in a strange place. He looked around and saw he's standing in the middle of National City, with buildings and people around him.
He realized he was in Kara's dream state.
Nia's voice suddenly echoed in his mind, pulling him back to reality. "Mon-El, can you see me?" she asked.
As Mon-El turned around toward her voice, the surroundings around him began to swirl and distort, like a distorted mirage. The colors and shapes blurred together, and he could feel a strange sensation in his stomach as he was transported through some kind of spatial anomaly.
But then, as quickly as it had started, the swirling vortex came to a sudden stop, and Mon-El found himself standing in a completely different location. Kara's apartment. The walls, the furniture, the decorations - everything was exactly as he remembered it.
Mon-El looked around in wonder, trying to comprehend what had just happened. As he did so, his eyes finally landed on Nia. "Yes, Nia. I see you now, it seems we're now in Kara's apartment."
"Good," she said. Nia directed him to a memory of Kara's apartment. Mon-El now found himself on the balcony and could picture the scene unfold in front of him as Nia described what she remembered.
"We need to go further back— " he said to Nia. "Wait, wait...Kara isn't here."
Without a word, Nia disappeared for a moment and returned to tell Mon-El that Kara was at CatCo, ducking at magazines being thrown in her direction.
"Magazines?" Mon-El was confused about why that would be happening. He was about to ask Nia a follow up question when he noticed she was unsteady on her feet.
"Nia, are you okay?" he asked, placing a hand on her shoulder to steady her.
Nia shook her head. "I don't know, I just feel dizzy," she said, fully leaning on Mon-El for support.
Mon-El realized she needs a break, still weak from the bomb. "Go update the others, tell them what's going on," he said to Nia. "I'll go figure out what's going on with Kara."
Nia nodded and stumbled out of the apartment, disappearing out of sight.
Given the lack of powers, Mon-El to travel by foot. And so he made his way to CatCo in a excruciatingly slow taxi.
After what felt like a decade passed, Mon-El had arrived to see Kara standing in the middle of Cat Grant's old office, surrounded by piles of magazines and papers.
"Kara, what's going-?" Mon-El started to ask but was unable to finish as music started to blare out of nowhere, similar to when Music Mei-Darius appeared.
"Banish the black! Burn the blue! And bury the beige!" Suddenly Mon-El noticed Cat Grant just in time to duck at the white glove in she threw in his direction.
A sudden realization hits Mon-El. He remembered a conversation he had with Kara in the past, about how Music Meister had forced her and Barry into a musical. Could this be connected to their current predicament?
"Kara, snap out of it," Mon-El called out, trying to get her attention. But Kara seemed lost in the moment, twirling around with Cat as they continue to sing.
Mon-El started to panic, unsure of how to break Kara out of the dream state. He looked around the room, searching for something to help him. That's when he spotted Kara's notepad and pen lying on the table.
He grabbed the notepad and pen and started scribbling down a message. "Kara, this isn't real. You're trapped in a dream state. We need to get you out of here."
He held up the notepad, hoping Kara will see it. But she was too caught up in the musical to notice. Mon-El looked back at normal-looking-Nia, who had returned to the dream state, and gestured for her to come over.
"We need to get her out of here," Mon-El said urgently. "We have to find a way to break the spell."
Nia nodded in agreement and started brainstorming ideas with Mon-El. They considered using her dream powers to try to shock Kara but Mon-El talked her out of it, worried it could cause an unwanted side effect.
Mon-El watched in confusion as the dancers continue their routine. He wondered how this was connected to Kara's secret admirer, but he couldn't seem to find any answers in this bizarre dream world. Suddenly, they heard a loud crash from outside.
Nia rushed to the window and saw chaos erupting on the streets below. She saw a taxi stop abruptly in front of CatCo, hitting a car park in front of it. "There's an old fashioned taxi waiting downstairs?" She looked at him confused.
With this new piece of information and the song coming to a close, Mon-El finally realized what is going on. His head snapped in her direction.
"The song Nia!"
"What?" Nia looked at him absolutely confused.
"The song!" Mon-El exclaimed, almost excited. "They're singing Think Pink!"
