Chapter Five: The Missing Data Disc
After their encounter with the mysterious figure in the abandoned factory, Harry and Kaia were left with more questions than answers. They had a feeling that the person they had met was somehow involved in the missing data disc, but they had no proof.
They decided to focus their efforts on finding the data disc, hoping that it would lead them to the truth behind the strange occurrences in the city. They spent hours searching through archives and databases, but they found nothing.
Kaia was growing frustrated. She had always been able to solve any mystery that came her way, but this one seemed impossible. Harry, on the other hand, was starting to feel that they were getting closer to the truth. He had a hunch that the disc was located somewhere in the abandoned industrial district.
As they were driving through the district, Harry spotted a rundown warehouse that seemed out of place. It looked like it had been abandoned for years, but he noticed that the door was slightly ajar. He pointed it out to Kaia, and they decided to investigate.
They cautiously made their way into the warehouse, which was filled with rows of crates and boxes. As they searched through the clutter, Kaia stumbled upon a hidden compartment in the wall. Inside was a small metal case, which she eagerly opened.
To their disappointment, the case was empty. However, Harry noticed that there was a small engraving on the bottom of the case that read "Gryffindor." He recognized it as the symbol of his former house at Hogwarts.
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the warehouse, and they realized that they weren't alone. They heard footsteps approaching from the other side of the room. They quickly hid behind some crates, waiting to see who or what was coming.
As the footsteps grew closer, Harry and Kaia peered out from their hiding spot and saw the mysterious figure from the factory enter the warehouse. He was holding something in his hand, and they could see that it was a data disc.
Without a second thought, Harry leapt from his hiding spot and tackled the man. They wrestled for control of the data disc, but Harry emerged victorious. Kaia held the man at bay as Harry examined the disc, hoping to find some answers.
As he inserted the disc into his computer, the screen flickered to life, and they saw a message from a familiar face. It was the missing researcher from the laboratory, and he had left a detailed account of his findings regarding the mysterious illness that had plagued the city.
Harry and Kaia were shocked by the information they had uncovered. They realized that the mysterious figure they had encountered was likely involved in a larger conspiracy to cover up the truth about the illness.
They knew that they had to act fast if they wanted to bring the truth to light. But as they left the warehouse and headed back to their car, they were ambushed by a group of men in black suits. The last thing Harry remembered was the sound of a taser before everything went black.
