E. Gadd was scared, too scared to say anything. Spettro whined sadly.

Mario gasped, "So you put me into a nightmare world, knowing that Dreamy Luigi would come in and save me. With me getting to Luigi, you could swoop in and take him prisoner…"

Luigi groaned, "Oh man! I hate helping with his plans!" He activated his Thunderhand, shocking Dimentio as he did. Dimentio let go of him as Luigi activated his Thunderhand wings. He further added, "But you aren't completing this plan!"

Mario celebrated, "Totally agree, fratello!" He activated his Firebrand as he burned the bars, freeing himself. He taunted, "Forgot about our powers, didn't you?"

Dimentio smirked as he used his magic to take away their powers. Luigi fell to the earth.

Violet cried out, "Luigi!"

Mario ran over to the ghost hunter, about to catch Luigi. But the jester caught him first. Dimentio worked fast, taking the Chaos Heart. Mario, Violet, and Elvin all gasped in horror. Dimentio flung Luigi away, giving the brothers their powers back. Mario caught Luigi fast but the man in green looked like he was dying. For real this time.

Mario knew that he had to do something. And fast. Mario placed Luigi down carefully as he freed the others. He turned to Elvin.

He pleaded, "Watch over him?"

Elvin smiled weakly, "You can count on me and Spettro."

To that, he nodded. Violet ran off with Mario, both of them ready for anything. Dimentio was a bit further ahead, opening up multiple portholes, using the Chaos Heart. Mario activated his Firebrand, drawing the jester's attention.

Mario growled, "Give back the Chaos Heart!"

Dimentio told him, "Not happening. Plus didn't the nightmare realm teach you anything? Not to face things alone?"

"Who said he was alone?"

Dimentio turned and saw Violet taking the Chaos Heart from him. She froze his hand in the process.

Mario stated, "Now!"

As he said that, the two of them wailed on Dimentio until he escaped into one of the portholes.

Violet replied, "That can't be good."

Mario responded, "Let's get the Chaos Heart back to Luigi before we pursue Dimentio."

To that, the ice wielder nodded.

…

It was later in the day that the heroes returned to the portholes. Spettro stayed with Elvin. And since Luigi was feeling better, he went with them.

Luigi wrinkled his nose, "So why would Dimentio need these portholes…?" Before he could say anything else, one of the portholes drew him in. He cried out, "Malleo! Vi!"

"Weegie!" They both cried out.

Too late as the ghost hunter fell through the porthole and it closed…

…

"Give him some room, pups. He's starting to wake up."

Luigi groaned, seeing a young kid there. With him were six pups.

Luigi sat up and promised, "I'm fine, thanks." He asked, "Who are you?"

The boy was surprised as one of the pups talked.

The Chocolate Labrador asked, "You don't know of Ryder?"

Luigi did a double take, "Wait, you can talk?"

The German Shepard pointed out, "We can all talk."

Ryder introduced, "I'm Ryder and this is the Paw Patrol."

The Chocolate Labrador said, "I'm Zuma, let's dive in!"

The German Shepard stated, "Chase is on the case!"

The Cockapoo said, "I'm Skye! And this puppy gotta fly!"

The English Bulldog stated, "I'm Rubble, on the double."

The Mixed Breed said, "I'm Rocky! Green means go!"

The Dalmatian stated, "I'm Marshall! I'm all fired up!"

Luigi smiled, "It's nice to meet all of you, I'm Luigi Manfredi."

Chase asked, "Are you from the Mario world?"

Luigi perked up, "How'd you know?"

Skye replied, "We saw the movie!"

Luigi repeated, "Movie?"

Ryder explained, "There was a recent movie release featuring you and your brother. Fictional, I thought."

Luigi responded, "The movie probably exists in another galaxy."

Marshall questioned, "So wait, were you not a prisoner of Bowser...?"

Luigi shook his head, "Nope, not even once. You know, knock wood."

Rocky told Rubble, "I like him!"

Rubble giggled, "Me too!"

Chase pointed out, "But you said that your last name is Manfredi? You sound more Italian than the guy who voices you in the movie."

Luigi started to reply, "That's cause Malleo and I..." He looked around and asked, "Wait, where is mi fratello? And mi fidanzata?"

Ryder answered, "You were the only one we found."

Luigi frowned, "That's not good... Maybe they are still in the Mushroom Kingdom...?"

Ryder promised, "Well, no matter what, we can help you. If your brother and your girlfriend appeared here, we will know about it."

Luigi raised an eyebrow, "How so?"

Skye wagged her tail, "Maybe we can show him?"

Ryder smiled at the idea, "That's a great idea, Skye!" Before he could set up a practice run, his pud pad rang. He told the pups, "Hang on, this is perfect timing!" He answered it, seeing that it was Mayor Goodway. He greeted, "Hey, Mayor Goodway. What's the matter?"

She frantically told him, "Ryder! Something strange has happened downtown! Some of these strange creatures have appeared downtown! Chickaletta has ran off!"

Ryder replied, "We're on it, Mayor! No Chickaletta is too missing! No pup is too small!" He hung up on her, pulling out a clip in his pup pad. He pressed a button and addressed, "Paw Patrol! To the lookout!"

The pups cried out, "Ryder needs us!"

With that, they ran off to the Lookout. Luigi went with them. They were waiting for Marshall but he tripped over some toy bones, knocking himself into everyone else.

Marshall smiled, "Guess that one is on toy!"

Everyone laughed as his pun. The elevator brought them up to the Paw Patrol logo where they got on their gear. They all got out of the elevator.

Chase reported, "Paw Patrol reporting for duty, Ryder sir!"

Ryder pressed a button on his pup pad, bringing down a screen. He informed them, "Thanks for coming so quickly, pups. There are strange creatures downtown and Chickaletta has run off."

Everyone gasped as Luigi questioned, "Chickaletta?"

Rocky explained, "That's Mayor Goodway's pet chicken."

Luigi nodded, "You know, if these strange creatures are from the Mushroom Kingdom, you are going to need my help."

Ryder agreed, "Yes, I agree. While Chase, Luigi, and I investigate; Skye, you will look for Chickaletta."

Chase replied, as Skye smiled at him, "Chase is on the case!"

Skye barked happily as she did a flip, "Let's take to the sky!"

Ryder told the other pups, "Until we identify the strange creatures, you pups will wait here. Alright, Paw Patrol is on a roll!"

With that, Ryder jumped down a fire pole. The pups were barking happily. Chase went down the slide first and then Skye right after him. Chase got into his pup home, which turned into his vehicle. Chase drove off. Skye got into her pup home, which turned into her helicopter. She flew off. Ryder got on his ATV, with Luigi right behind him. The four of them headed out to downtown.
