Part One - Empathy - Chapter 6

As they approached the Latona fountain, Mon-El and Kara were greeted by the sight of the sparkling water falling into the basin, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful architecture. Kara's eyes lit up with excitement, and Mon-El couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm.

"Okay, let's get started," Mon-El said, pulling out his camera. "First up, let's do some silly faces."

Kara giggled and made a funny face, sticking her tongue out and crossing her eyes. Mon-El snapped the picture, laughing along with her.

As they continued with the photoshoot, Kara's happiness radiated from her, and Mon-El couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. Her blonde hair was tousled by the breeze, and her blue eyes shone with joy. Mon-El felt himself getting lost in her smile and her sparkling eyes.

At one point, Kara's attention was drawn away by something happening in the distance. Mon-El noticed her distraction and placed a gentle hand on hers, bringing her attention back to him.

As she turned to face him, their eyes locked, and Kara felt a sudden rush of butterflies in her stomach.

For Mon-El, it was a moment of realization. As he looked at Kara, he knew that he was still in love with her.

He had tried to move on, to forget his feelings, but being with her in this moment made him realize that his love for her was still as strong as ever. This made him incredibly nervous he let feelings get in the way of saving her.

Kara noticed a shift in Mon-El's expression, and she wondered if he was feeling the same thing she was. Their eyes locked again, and this time, there was an unspoken understanding between them.

As they continued with the photoshoot, the energy between them shifted, becoming charged with unspoken feelings. They continued to joke and laugh, but now there was an underlying tension that neither of them could ignore.

What have you found?" J'onn asked, his deep voice booming over the phone.

"Winn was able to isolated a source of the disturbance," Alex replied, her eyes flickering across the screens. "It might be a metahuman, but we can't get a clear visual on them. They move pretty fast fast."

J'onn frowned. "A speedster, perhaps?"

"It's possible," Alex said, nodding.

J'onn considered this for a moment, then reached for his communicator. "I'll contact Team Flash they have more experience with speedsters than we do."

He pressed a few buttons and waited for the connection to establish. After a few seconds, Barry's face appeared on the screen.

"J'onn! What's up?" Barry said, grinning.

"We have a situation," J'onn said, his expression serious. "We believe we may be dealing with a speedster who has it out for Kara, and we need your help."

Barry's grin faded. "Uh oh. Okay, what do you need?"

J'onn quickly explained the situation, while Winn sent up the relevant data to Team Flash. Barry listened carefully, nodding as he absorbed the information.

"I see," he said finally. "I don't think that's a speedster, we've already defeated Godspeed. Have you considered a metahuman with teleportation powers?" Barry asked.

"Th-there was Shawna Baez from my Earth," Barry continued, "While she doesn't seem to be evil anymore, maybe there is a doppelganger of hers who thinks Kara has wronged her somehow?" Barry sighed, realizing how weak his suggestion was.

"I'm sorry guys, I'm drawing up a blank here...the only other teleporter I dealt with like that is dead and it would have been very obvious if she had teleported there."

"Maybe it's an alien?" Kelly suggested.

Alex sighed, "We can ask around Al's." She was frustrated at how slow things were going. She thought they would have figure it out by now!

Mon-El and Kara spent the whole day taking pictures and exploring Paris, from L'Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel to the Louvre Museum.

Kara was having the time of her life, her happiness emanating from her and making Mon-El forget about the mission for a while.

As they walked down the street towards their next location, Mon-El couldn't help but admire her beauty. She looked so alive and carefree. "You're beautiful," Which was what Mon-El meant to say in his head but accidentally said aloud.

Kara giggled, "Oh stop it, Dick. I look like a tourist."

"You look like a movie star," Mon-El replied, winking at her and playing along again.

Kara blushed, and Mon-El couldn't resist leaning in to kiss her cheek. Ideally he would have kissed her but anything more right now would feel like taking advantage.

"Oh! I found another place we can go," Kara said, taking Mon-El's hand and leading him down the street to a taxicab.

Mon-El was happy to follow her lead. For once, he wasn't thinking about the mission, he was just enjoying the moment with Kara. They ended up at the beautiful Forest of Fontainebleau.

As Mon-El and Kara laid on the grass under the stars, Mon-El told her stories about the constellations changing in the future and their names evolving.

Kara listened intently, mesmerized by Mon-El's words and the beauty of the night sky. They both shared a moment of peace and happiness, away from the chaos and danger of the real world.

The conversation ventured towards their dreams for the future.

"I've always wanted to explore the galaxy," Kara said, her eyes lighting up as she spoke. "To visit different planets and see all the wonders of the universe, duty aside." She continued, her real-life persona slipping through.

Mon-El nodded in agreement, "I can see you doing that, Kara. You're destined for great things."

Kara smiled at the compliment, "What about you? What are your dreams for the future?"

Mon-El took a deep breath, "I want to become a better leader. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past, and I want to make amends for them. I want to be someone who people can look up to and trust."

Kara reached out and placed a hand on Mon-El's arm, "I believe in you. You're already on the right path, you're an amazing leader."

Mon-El looked at Kara and realized how much he's missed her. He reached over and took her hand, and Kara smiled at him. In that moment, everything else faded away and it was just the two of them under the starry sky.

As they gazed up at the twinkling stars, Kara felt a sense of peace and comfort that she hasn't felt in a long time.

"Today, I saw a happy child running through the Latona Fountain while we were shooting the photoshoot." Kara stared at a smudge in the sky, surmising it was Andromeda.

"He climbed into the fountain and force his guardians to follow him." She smiled and Mon-El reveled in her peaceful expression, "Instead of being angry they just jumped in, playfully splashing him."

"They were giggling so much it warmed my heart." She sighed, dreamily.

"Mon-El?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever thought about having children?"

Mon-El was taken aback by Kara's question. He hadn't really thought about it before, but he realized that he wouldn't mind having kids with Kara someday. He immediately shook his head, nipping that thought straight in the bud.

"I-I'm open to the idea and but I wasn't sure much before wh-when my dad was a nightmare. But after seeing how he could change, I did think about it."

"What's your father's name?" Kara asked.

Mon-El sighed, their situation coming back to bite him in the ass. "His name was Lar."

"Lar…Lar-Lara." Kara smiled, "That was my aunt's name. If I had a daughter, I think I'd name her that."

But Mon-El has stopped listening when he heard "He Loves and She Loves" play in the distance. Although he saw Kara slipped through at times, this was taking too long. He needed to wake up her up, gently and fast. They were reaching the end of the movie.

A/N: Reminder this would take after season 7 of flash/i.e. after season 6 of Supergirl.
