Part One - Empathy - Chapter 7

At the same time Kara and Mon-El were stargazing, Brainy and Lena synthesized the antidote with the help of Eliza.

They were able to remove the traces of the Kryptonite in Kara's system, consequently allowing the sunlamps to work again!

Clark shared the progress on his end, when he filled in everyone about the time anomaly, Winn was able to formulate a plan on how to fix it. The only thing left was to discovering who the teleporter was.

And luckily for everyone, Alex and Kelly finally caught a break. They came back from the bar with a good lead.

"Kelly and I found someone who knows Lance at the bar. You know Kara's alien ex-"

"Yeah the one who look a-freakishly-lot like Mon-El?" Nia asked.

"Yes..." Alex stopped herself from chuckling, she had said the same thing to Kara but she simply refused to see it. "Well anyways, it turns out he was actually hospitalized right around the time he ghosted Kara."

"So whoever attacked him, was probably the one to send the bomb!" Nia jumped in again.

Alex pulled out a piece of paper, "And we know where to find him." She smiled and looked at Clark. "You up for some butt kicking?"

Mon-El met with Nia to come up with a new plan because playing along with the Dick's role isn't helping Kara "wake up" any faster, "What else can I do?" He sighed, extremely frustrated.

Nia smiled sympathetically, "Well, the team has made a lot of progress! So the only thing we need to worry about is waking up Kara." She reassured him.

"Yeah but since we skipped over Audrey Hepburn's dance at the bar, we veered so far off script that we're no longer going to the professor's house. We only have a few hours." Mon-El plopped on a seat frustrated. "If I mess this up, I will never forgive myself." Mon-El frowned.

"Hey, don't think that way! You've made progress! We just need to kick it up a notch." Nia exclaimed.

Nia thought back on her recent discussion with the team, and had a sudden realization. "I think I understand now." She whispered to herself.

"Mon-El, the reason why playing along with Kara's dream state isn't working is because in a sense, she's already living her dreams," Nia explained. "With your presence here...it's a dream come true for her," she added, trying hard not to smirk as Mon-El blushed. In that moment, Nia wished she had a camera to capture the moment.

"So what Kara needs is a cold plash of water. We need to remind Kara of her duties as Supergirl and the responsibilities that come with her powers." Nia suggested, "Kara has always been passionate about helping people and making a positive impact in the world. Soo…"

Standing up, Mon-El nodded in agreement. "You're absolutely right. Kara's strength and desire to protect others is the motivator." His face brightened as an idea struck him. "I've got it. A hospital."

"What?" Nia sighed, confused on his reasoning. "Mon-El, I can't dream walk in your mind too. This isn't inception."

"Right sorry, what I meant to say was, I could take her to the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital and remind her what it feels like to save lives. I could even say I had another inspiration for a photoshoot."

As Alex and Clark burst into Lance's apartment, they found him lying on the ground, motionless.

Alex quickly checked for a pulse, but she found none. "He's dead," she said, her voice tinged with disappointment. They had been hoping to get some information out of Lance.

But something seemed off. Lance's body was still warm, which meant that he couldn't have been dead for very long. "He must have been killed within the last few hours," Alex said, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of the killer.

"Someone's been spying on us," Clark muttered, looking around the room for any signs of a struggle.

Alex nodded, her mind racing. If the killer had been spying on them or overheard them at the bar, then they must have known that they were closing in on Lance. They needed to find out who had done this, and fast.

Clark flew Alex back to the DEO just as Winn analyzed the footage from the bar security cameras. And that's when he found her - an alien woman who had been staring at Alex and Kelly from the minute they walked into Al's.

She also disappeared as soon as they left the bar, as if she had never been there in the first place..

The woman seemed familiar to Alex, but she couldn't quite place her. "I've seen her before," Alex said, her brow furrowed in thought. "But I can't remember where."

Winn quickly ran a facial recognition scan on the woman, and it didn't take long for them to find a match. "Her name is Elena, she's was in the alien registry but it doesn't list where from."

"Oh! I know where I've seen her!" Alex said, "She was one of the Cult of Rao followers!"

"Right!" Winn yelled, "I remember that! She must have figured out Kara's identity like Coville did." With Brainy's help, Winn quickly traced Elena's location using CCTV cameras.

Alex gathered the Superfriends' attention in the DEO command center, her expression serious and stern. "We need to apprehend Elena," she began, her tone urgent.

"She's dangerous, and she won't hesitate to hurt anyone who gets in her way."

The Superfriends nodded in agreement, and Alex continued. "We need to contact Barry and ask him what they used to contain the teleporters he dealt with. Elena is powerful, and we need to make sure we have the right tools to stop her."

Winn quickly got to work, contacting Barry and asking for his help. As they waited for a response, Alex paced back and forth, her mind racing with thoughts of what she's going to do when she sees her.

Finally, Barry responded, providing them with the information they needed. With this new knowledge, the Superfriends quickly formulated a plan to take down Elena and put an end to her dangerous game once and for all.

At first Kara was hesitant, a hospital was a horrible place for a photoshoot, it felt exploitative. But Mon-El convinced her to come with him by revealing the concept is heroes.

As they entered the hospital, Kara saw the patients in the waiting room and the doctors and nurses rushing around to help them.

Mon-El explained to Kara that this is what being a hero is all about. He told her that there are people out there who need the help of a superhero with the power to make a difference in their lives.

Kara then watched as a team of doctors work to save the life of a young girl who was in a car accident.

Mon-El watched as Kara walked around the emergency room, watching how people are in pain. And how the empathy radiated from her.

A child cried after he was told both his parents were dead, making Kara clutch her chest. She watched a young blonde woman wraps her arms tightly around the little brown-haired boy as she reassured the doctor she was his cousin and would take care of him.

A tear dropped from Kara's face and Mon-El rushed over to her, feeling horrible and full of guilt for breaking her spirit.

No longer joyful, Kara looked at Mon-El and seemed to finally register him completely.

"Mon-El?" She asked confused as it all faded to black.
