The Danny Phantom stories my and friends write take place in the present time, so we've tweaked the timeline a bit. Since it is hard to remember what it was like even if you lived through the early 2000s!
When the Ancients had formed the platonic soulmate bond between Ceci Masters/Ceci Spirit and Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom, they didn't realize their work wasn't yet done. While they'd established a method for the siblings to visit each other, they still needed to figure out a credible cover story for them thoroughly.
Danny and Ceci had come up with a partial cover story. Danny had devised that their alias should be their first and middle names. Or at least that is what worked for him. Since Danny's full name was Daniel Jackson Fenton, when he visited Ceci's world, he was known as Danny Jackson, son of Robert Jackson and Kathleen Wells. Robert was Jack Fenton's middle name, Kathleen was Maddie's middle name, and her maiden name was Wells.
Ceci did the same thing. Saying her mother was also Kathleen Wells. Except she utilized her father Vlad's middle name Alexei as a cover for her. However, they quickly discovered they required more to maintain their cover in both worlds. Therefore, they'd come to the Ancients for assistance. After assembling in their Nexus, the Ancients began to figure out how to guarantee the children's cover story held up. So they set in motion the creation of Kathleen Wells.
"We all realize this will take our united capabilities to pull off, don't you agree?" Clockwork questioned his fellow Ancients.
"We do concur with you, Clockwork. All of us must play a part to guarantee the heroes can visit each other without raising suspicion. We know how they cherish their time as ordinary teenagers outside their hero commitments." Cronos replied in his deadpan voice.
"However, we must also agree that creating a life needs to stay within our ethical boundaries. I know it will take myself, Dynama, and even Enchantra to help to create a living being to play the role of Kathleen Wells," Vida pointed out.
"I know. This leaves me, Dimensie, and Cognite to arrange the living situation. Plus Discord and Harmony to ensure we don't tip the scales in the balance of chaos and order," Clockwork reminded them.
"I feel I could help with setting up a suitable residence. To ensure that it can stand up to both earthly and supernatural forces. But, of course, l need help from all of you as well," Tempest stated.
"I'll also be helping the creation of our unique entity. It's not easy to create a life without ensuring they've got a heart and soul," Cronos pointed out.
"True. So shall we begin? We still have to further test and train the heroes to take over for us one day. So the least we can do is ensure they can see each other without disrupting the delicate balance of the multiverse," Dimensie pointed out.
"Then let's begin. First is setting up an appropriate residence with a gateway portal so Kathleen can traverse between the worlds whenever the siblings visit. I believe if we made a doorway identical to the one in "Howl's Moving Castle," it would help," Cognite replied.
"You mean a doorway with a magical dial that the color determines where the door unlocks? I acknowledge that is a much safer option then if we had an unprotected ghost portal. Also, it would hopefully prevent others from accidentally ending up where they don't belong. So I applaud you for your original idea, Cognite," Dimensie praised them.
"We can work out the otherworldly entrance later. But first, we must discover the ideal location for the dwellings to connect. Then we also need to deal with the paperwork to guarantee Kathleen's existence is backed up in case someone might dig deeper," Enchantra pointed out.
"You leave that to me to devise the required paperwork. Then, l get straight on it," Cognite bid everyone goodbye.
"I believe the girls and I should start on our job with creating the individual who will become Kathleen Wells. Come, we've much to do!" Vida called her friends over.
"I'll locate the ideal site for the house before ensuring both the inside and outside are shielded from hazards of the elements, again both paranormal and worldly," Tempest reiterated.
"We shall accompany you, Tempest. After all, we must ensure a balance between chaos and order before we set up the portal," Harmony insisted. With that, the Ancients ensured the heroes' cover story held up. Cognite, the Ancient of Wisdom, had an effortless time conjuring the paperwork required to prove an individual legally existed in the human world.
They had researched sufficiently human laws and government to ensure this happened. While they could conjure it up, they needed to visit these establishments in person to ensure they were in the correct locations. They needed help entering government documents in two realities without blowing their cover. They were almost discovered when they inserted the data into the Amity Park system. Luckily they escaped detection.
According to the paperwork they'd inserted, Kathleen Allegra Wells had been born on May 6th, 1983. Her parents were Kylie and Benjamin Wells. Which were Maddie's parents' middle names. Like Maddie herself, it stated Kathleen had been born and raised in Arkansas, except in a different town then where Maddie's sister Alicia currently resided.
It also stated she'd been an honor student in high school and attended university in Champagne, Illinois. Cognite felt keeping it as close to Maddie's actual life story did help. They'd only altered a few minor details here and there. Regardless, the information had been appropriately inserted into the correct databases. So now Kathleen Wells legally existed in both realities.
Meanwhile, Vida, Dynama, and Enchantra worked their magic together to give life to a living entity. Vida successfully collected Maddie's DNA and imbued it with ghostly energy and a few lost souls. Enchantra also employed her magic to grant her sentience and free will. Plus, also give her a personality all her own. She did a few other things as well. For example, to help them monitor her emotional stability, her fingernails would change colors to match her mood. This would also help them ensure her life force energy remained stable.
The girls had done an excellent job when Kathleen was born. She had curly shoulder-length auburn locks and enormous violet eyes. However, they still had to make a few modifications to make her not a clone of Maddie. This resulted in Kathleen being slim, petite, and average-sized chest. Plus, they made her skin tone extremely pale ivory. Furthermore, she was left-handed and had a unique sense of style. Also, her voice was different from Maddie too.
While the creation of Kathleen was going on, Tempest, Discord, and Harmony had located the perfect location for Kathleen to live in. After traveling between Peace Valley and Amity Park, they uncovered two forsaken houses at the end of a dead-end street two blocks from a local park. The trio went about fixing both residences up. Tempest again guaranteed both locations could withstand any storm from either world. He and Discord also had fun setting up the front and backyard.
Discord may represent Chaos. However, thanks to his wife, he did have a knack for landscaping. His wife appreciated having a gorgeous yard. Eris said she needed something to ground herself so she didn't tip the scales of chaos. Therefore, Discord did an unbelievable job setting up the yard. Enchantra had lent them a few bewitched lawn ornaments and other decorations. Plus, with the help of Vida, given life to magical roses for the front and the vegetable garden in the back.
Dynama had instilled a generator for houses to ensure they utilized a combo of solar mixed with ectoplasmic energy. That way, no utilities had to be paid. Next, Harmony used her own knack for interior decorating to set up the inside of the dwellings. Finally, it came time for Dimensie and Clockwork to step in. While Dimensie helped construct the magical doorway, Clockwork manipulated memories within the time stream so Kathleen would be remembered within each reality.
Finally, everything was set up. They'd even helped Kathleen gain employment as an advice columnist so she could work from home. They'd wanted her to have something to do whenever she was alone. Hell, they even gave her a ghost kitten to keep her company! Then, when the Ancients completed all this, they'd called Ceci and Danny back to them. They showed them everything and had them spend a weekend with Kathleen so they'd get to know each other. Thus, now the heroes could ensure their cover story held up, making visiting each other much more manageable. A job well done, indeed!
