Frostthorn sighed. Her head seemed to be full of clouds. Why? She couldn't even think clearly! She lifter herself up, and almost immediately, dropped back down on her nest. She started to breath heavily.
Suddenly, she heard commotion. "Moonpetal, would you like to share a mouse with me?"
Tears came to Frostthorn's eyes. How could Skywing share with another she-cat? She sighed. She knew it. He was just using her like Darkstorm! She didn't know what to do. If she went out, she would be humiliated in front of Skywing and his new mate, Moonpetal. Who was Moonpetal? She had to know.
Teeth clenching as she heaved herself up, she slowly walked outside, feeling the claw of pain hurt more with each step. Skywing seemed finished up, and trotting to his brother.
Moonpetal looked at Frostthorn. "Hi!" She called shyly. Frostthorn looked up at her, She realized that Moonpetal was quite pretty, with silverish-gray fur and soft blue eyes. It wasn't much of a surprise that Skywing would want to mate with her.
She felt guilty being exposed to such friendliness. "Hi…"
Frostthorn took another step, and suddemly, all her muscles felt sore. Her knees buckled underneath her, leaving her panting hard.
"Are you okay?" Moonpetal asked. Frostthorn gave a curt nod.
She saw Skywing pad towards then, and she felt a wave of satisfaction. He laid down next to her and began comforting her with licks. "Are you alright? You seem…hurt."
The white she-cat sighed—would he understand? "I feel like there's something like a claw holding me. It hurts so much!"
Skywing licked Frostthorn. "Come on, let's get you to the medicine den.
A quarter moon later…
Frostthorn yawned. Ouch! Her belly had kept on hurting, She didn't know what the cause was, because she had been avoiding the medicine den—as she'd stayed there for two moons—and that was why she turned down Skywing's offer. He obviously mistook her words for annoyance and anger, because when she looked at him, he would show pools of hurt in his moss-colored eyes.
