Pokemon Adventures in Alola, a pokémon fanfic

Well, Hello there.

Here we are with a new fanfic.

This time is a Pokémon Fanfic.

This is going to be a bit long since I'm going to clarify a few things before I start, so hang on.

- As the name indicates, this fanfic will be based on the Sun and Moon games.

- The battles will be like in the Anime, this to give more dynamism to the combats.

- The Pokémon league more of the same. I'll be based on the anime tournament format; I feel it's more exciting that way.

- The story will be based on that of the games of the same name; however, I will add quite a few extra things so that it doesn't feel so simple.

- The main characters will be older than in the canon.

- As you know, English is not my first language so please forgive me for any grammar mistake.

Lastly but not less important enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters. Pokémon belongs to Game Freak and The Pokémon Company.

Chapter 1.

A new life in Alola.

Ring…

The computer makes a noise. Apparently, someone is trying to connect via video call. The screen says: "You have a message from Alola region's Professor Kukui."

Accept Call…

- *Hang on, now. Gimme just a second… *- Kukui said while adjusting the camera. Professor Kukui is a young man with a muscular physique, who has dark eyes, black hair, a black man bun and a goatee. He wears a white hat with a rainbow decoration in the front. Professor Kukui also wears glasses with a teal frame, a white lab coat with rolled-up sleeves, gray baggy pants with a teal stripe and white drawstrings and some teal shoes with a white outline. Professor Kukui has a silver ring on his ring finger.

- *Hey there. Good afternoon. So, the day has finally come that you're moving to Alola * - Suddenly Kukui shows a map of the Alola region. - *Alola is a region made of several islands. Maybe that's why there are a lot of rare Pokémon here. * - In that, Kukui keeps the map and with his right hand takes out a Pokeball. - *Pokémon, such mysterious creatures* - Said the professor while from the Pokeball came out a canine-looking Pokémon, Rockruff. - *You can find the everywhere. Here in Alola we love our Pokémon, and we depend on them heaps, too. Some of us even battle with them, we call ourselves Pokémon trainers. *- At that, Kukui returns Rockruff to his Pokéball. – *All Right. Now, tell me about yourself. * -

- "Yes. My name is Elio."- This is our protagonist, Elio, a 16-year-old boy. Elio is a short, slim boy, with black hair and light gray eyes. He is wearing a black baseball cap with a white Poké Ball like symbol planted on the front, also having a blue brim. He has a blue and white striped t-shirt, black and red cargo shorts that lead to blue and teal water shoes, wearing no socks underneath. – "And this is my partner, Pikachu!"- Saying this, a Pikachu climbed onto the boy's shoulder.

- * Great, I see you already have a Pokémon with you. Elio, Pikachu, I can't wait to see you in person. *-

- "Yeah, I'm really excited to be there."-

After this, Kukui says goodbye and the video call ends.

- "Elio! Come help me with these boxes!"- His mother called him. Elio gets up from his chair and goes to help his mother.

Pokémon Adventures in Alola Opening.

[Song: Pokémon XY opening 1 V-Volt.]

You can see a Pokeball on top of a table and then Pikachu appears on the scene and looks at the Pokeball, even so he is quickly called by Elio who passes behind while Pikachu climbs on his back.

(Doragon goosuto jimen hikou)

The scene changes to a beach with several people and Pokémon enjoying it.

(Doku mushi mizu denki iwa kusa aku)

The scenes keep changing, first a view inside the ocean where several aquatic Pokémon are swimming and then change to an aerial view looking at a volcano.

(Koori noomaru honoo kakutou)

Then Elio is seen, with pikachu on his shoulder, along with a brown-skinned boy with green hair (Hau) and a blonde girl (Lillie) looking at the landscape.

(Hagane esupaa fearii)

Then you can see a food stall where they sell some kind of bread, finally Elio is seen running while the girl and the boy from before following him.

(Saa koko kara ga bouken da hikari no saki no hate made)

The three protagonists can be seen looking at the horizon, the camera focuses on Elio with Pikachu on his shoulder, both are doing some kind of training.

(Sora kara koboreta namida no ame kakiwakete)

The camera now focuses on Hau, he and Rowlet are eating Malasadas.

(Saa yuuki dashite ikou ka kinou no boku ni katsu tame)

The camera now pans to Lillie, who is chasing Nebby trying to get him into the bag, but the attempt fails as the girl falls to the ground before she can catch Nebby.

(Donna deai mo takara da. Doki charenjaa)

Three members of Team Skull are seen trying to catch some Pokémon, however they fail miserably as the Pokémon attack them sending them flying.

(Itsuka kanarazu kanaeru yume ga aru)

Elio is seen, with Pikachu on his left shoulder, running in an open field, however in front of him a rock wall emerges which prevents him from moving forward, at that moment several silhouettes of Pokémon and trainers appear before him.

(Kimi ga oshiete kureta no sa sou dakara koso tabi ni deru)

Elio looks towards the silhouettes, but Hau arrives and pats him on the right shoulder and then gives him a smile encouraging him to continue. On his other side, Lillie touches his left shoulder lightly, also giving him a smile and encouraging him to continue. Elio smiles and quickly continues on his way, being followed by his friends.

(Akai kizuna no wa ga dekaku hirogattara).

Elio issues an order to Pikachu who performs a quick attack, evading a punch from a Gumshoos and managing to hit a Crabrawler.

(Tashika na koto genki mo sugu minna ni todoku no sa)

Pikachu quickly uses Iron Tail to block another attack from Gumshoos, finally finishing off his opponent with a Thunder Shock.

(Aoi bokura no hoshi no kibou wa kagayaite)

Now it looks like Lillie looks as Nebby tries to attack but he only gives off a glow that quickly disappears. Hau gives an order to his Rowlet, and it proceeds to attack throwing several leaves, finally Elio gives an order while a Popplio attacks with bubbles followed by Pikachu attacking with another Thunder Shock.

(Ki-iroi hana ga saku)

Finally you can see a Pokémon being surrounded by the aura of Z moves.

(Doragon goosuto jimen hikou. Doku mushi mizu denki iwa kusa aku. Koori noomaru honoo kakutou. Hagane esupaa fearii)

Finally, Solgaleo and Lunala can be seen roaring as they slowly disappear.

Three months later.

We are in the Alola region, a woman is relaxing on the porch of her house, alongside her Meowth. – "Ahhh! Can't you just feel that warmth? The first day spent under Alola's sun. But that's enough of that! Time to unpack all these boxes!"- In that the woman turns to see her Meowth. – "Meowth? Go get Elio for me, would you?"-

- "Meow!"- The Pokémon answered before heading inside the house.

Elio was sleeping, a day ago they arrived in Alola and the move had left him quite tired. Beside him was his Pikachu sleeping too. Suddenly... – "Meow!"- A pain in his face made him wake up and fall out of bed. Opening his eyes, he found his mother's Meowth in front of him. – "What in the world? Meowth!"-

- "Meow!"-

- "I know, I know… You couldn't wake me up in a less painful way."-

- "Meow!"-

- "Fine. Pikachu, wake up! Mom needs our help."- Hearing this, Pikachu wakes up and after stretching he climbs on his trainer's shoulder.

Leaving his room, Elio runs into his mother. – "You were out like a light, weren't you? I bet you are now full of energy and eager to meet all the Pokémon in the region."-

- "Of course! Pikachu and I are ready to set off on our Alolan adventure!"-

In that, the doorbell of the house rings.

- "That must be Professor Kukui… Why don't you let him in, Elio?"-

- "Sure"-

Once Elio opened the door, he found Kukui with a big smile on his face. – "Alola!"-

This excited attitude took Elio by surprise. – "A-Alola?"-

- "It's our way of saying hello here in Alola."-

- "I see. In that case, Alola professor!"-

Kukui smiled at this. - "So, how are you feeling? You gotta be tired after that long trip. Any jet lag?"-

In that, Elio's mother joins the conversation. – "Professor Kukui! Yes, we just arrived yesterday."-

- "No need to call me Professor, just Kukui is fine. Welcome to Alola!"- He then directed to Elio. – "How about I show you around? Besides, you have to meet the Island Kahuna."-

- "Of course, if that's okay with you, mom."-

- "Of course, son. But if you're going out, you'd better wear this."- After saying this, the mother gives Elio his cap and a backpack to store things.

- "Thanks mom!"-

- "Verry well. Let's get going to Iki town!"- The professor said as he left the house.

- "Are you ready Pikachu?"- Elio asked to his Pokémon.

- "Pika!"- The Pokémon responded enthusiastically.

- "Let's go buddy!"- Elio said excitedly as he left his house. Kukui was waiting for him outside.

Once outside Kukui and he began to walk in the direction of Ike town. However, from the neighboring house they saw someone leaving the house.

The person in question is a young girl with green eyes and platinum blond hair, with two braids at each side of her face. She wears a large white hat, with a blue ribbon around it. She wears a white dress with transparent outlines, a pair of long socks and white shoes resembling ballet flats. She also carries a round bag with a Poké Ball design on both sides. For Elio that was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

The girl turns to them, seeing the professor the girl is surprised. – "Professor Kukui, what are you doing here? And who is the boy next to you?"-

- "Alola, Lillie! I'm showing Elio around. He just arrived at Alola just yesterday."-

- "So, you are the ones who moved in yesterday. I guess you're my new neighbor. Welcome to Alola."- The girl, now identified as Lillie said with a bit of nerves.

- "T-thanks"-

- "Hey Lillie, don't you want to join us? This way you can get to know Elio better."-

- "I would like to, but I need to go to Iki town."- The girl said while tightly squeezing a part of her bag.

Kukui seemed to understand what the girl meant. - "I see… In that case say hello to the Kahuna for me and tell him that there is someone who wants to see him."-

- "Okay. See you later professor. and welcome to Alola Elio."- After these words the girl leaves in the direction of Iki town.

- "Very well Elio, let me show you around, then we will go to Iki town"- After showing Elio around a bit, he and Kuikui arrived at Iki Town. – "And we're here! This is Iki town. This town is where everyone comes to worship the Pokémon that watches over Melemele island." - In that Kukui tries to find someone, however he does not seem to find it. – "Huh? Looks like the kahuna isn't here. Hey Elio, how about taking a walk around town while I'm looking for the Kahuna?"-

- "Sure."-

- "Good. I'll be back in a moment."- After this Kukui leaves in search of the Kahuna.

- "Okay Pikachu. Let's explore the town!"-

- "Pikachu!"-

A few minutes later.

- "I'm bored!"- Said Elio.

- "Pika…"- His Pokémon said. Looks like he was bored too.

In that, in the distance he could see Lillie, however the girl seemed somewhat nervous in that the girl goes into the forest.

- "Lillie? Where is she going? She looks nervous. She may need help. Come on, friend."- Elio said as Pikachu climbed onto his shoulder and the duo started following Lillie.

After several minutes and several stairs, Elio followed Lillie to a bridge, on the other side there seems to be some kind of entrance. However, before Lillie could step onto the bridge, her bag began to move.

- "E-Easy, we're almost there."- Lillie said. However, a Pokémon came out of the bag. Said Pokémon resembles a floating cloud colored in dark blue and purple. – "Nebby!"-

The Pokémon. Now identified as Nebby, he was already halfway across the bridge, but out of nowhere three Spearows appeared and began attacking the defenseless Pokémon.

- "Nebby!"- Lillie screamed. The girl tried to go for the Pokémon, however when she stepped on the bridge the board below broke and one of her feet was trapped.

- "Lillie!"- Elio screamed. Quickly grabbing Lillie and pulling her to safety.

- "E-Elio?"-

- "Are you okay?"-

- "P-Please."- The girl said while pointing at Nebby. – "Save him."-

Without saying anything, Elio ran in the direction to save Nebby. – "Hey! Leave him alone!"- That caught the attention of the Spearows. One of them launched in Elio's direction.

- "Looks like this will be our first match. Pikachu go ahead, use Thunder Shock!"-

- "Pika…Chu!"- The Pokémon screamed as it jumped off its trainer's shoulder and fired a Thunder Shock at the Spearow. This was enough to defeat him. At that, the other two Spearows head towards Elio.

- "Pikachu, use Quick Attack."- Using the indicated move, Pikachu hits one of the Spearow and defeats it. The other Spearow tries to attack Pikachu. – "He's going for Peck! Pikachu, spin in the air and dodge it." - Hearing his trainer, Pikachu manages to dodge the attack. – "Now finish him off with Thunder Shock!"- The attack manages to hit and defeat the last Spearow.

At the end, Pikachu returns to the shoulder of his trainer. – "Great job buddy!"- After this fight, Elio walks over and picks up Nebby in his arms. – "Calm down little one. Now you are safe."- Elio begins to return, however a sound catches his attention.

CRACK

The bridge is breaking, the fights must have weakened it. Elio tried to get off the bridge quickly, however, to his bad luck, the bridge broke and then Elio, Pikachu and Nebby began to fall.

- "Elio! Nebby!"- Lillie screamed in fear.

Elio closed his eyes tightly, waiting for the hit, but it never came. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Lillie crouched in front of him. However, when he turned around, he saw a Pokémon, which looked quite strong.

The Pokémon's inner body is solid black in color with white markings on the chest and face. Yellow rings are present on its shoulders and yellow markings appear on its eyes as well. Its lower body is orange and consists entirely of five feather-like appendages. It's hair, similarly, is orange with a yellow tip in the shape of a mohawk. Its arms are solid with a two fingered hand on each in the shape of a bird's beak, which are connected to its shell. The shell is a yellow, egg-shaped dome with multiple geometric patterns on the shell. On each side of the shell there are wings not to mention when it's closed it looks like a yellow head of a rooster.

- "W-What?"-

Without the Pokémon saying anything, it throws an object at Elio. – "Koko!"- After that shout, the Pokémon flies away.

- "Oh, thank goodness you are okay!"- Lillie said.

After processing what happened, Elio keeps the object that the Pokémon gave him. – "I assume this is yours."- He said as he handed Nebby over to Lillie.

- "Thanks. Nebby that was very dangerous, please don't do it again."- She said as she put Nebby in her bag. – "Please. I ask you the favor of not saying anything about this little boy. I promise to explain everything when we get back to Kukui."-

- "Ok. I promise."-

- "Thanks."- Lillie said while giving a small bow.

After this, both teenagers returned to Iki town.

…

Iki town.

Kukui was worried, however his concern vanished when he saw both teenagers return from the Mahalo Trial. - "So, there you are Elio. I see you ran into Lillie."-

In that, a man approaches them. He is a stocky old man, who has white hair tied in a ponytail, as well as white eyebrows and moustache. He wears a blue shirt under his yellow jacket with flower pattern, a shirt tied in a knot over a red and white fan. He also wears white shorts and white/blue flip-flops. In addition, He has squinty eyes.

- "So, you're the one Kukui was talking about? I am Hala, the Kahuna of Melemele. By the way Kukui, I saw Tapu Koko fly near here, did something happen?"-

- "In fact, something did happen."- Lillie said. The girl proceeded to recount everything that had happened on the bridge.

- "Oh, I see. I guess now Elio knows about Cosmog."-

- "Cosmog?"-

- "Y-Yes. That's Nebby's real name. Nebby is just a nickname that I gave him."-

- "Elio, I must ask you to please keep Cosmog as a secret. Cosmog is quite a rare Pokémon, so we want to keep it a secret from greedy people."- The Kahuna said.

- "Of course."-

- "HEY!"- Suddenly a voice interrupts the conversation. A boy came running up. He is a dark-skinned boy, with dark green hair, which is tied into a short ponytail with an orange band. He wears a black shirt, yellow board shorts with orange and white flowers on them and orange shoes and backpack. – "What's going on here? and who is this guy?"-

- "Hau, what did I tell you about interrupting other people's conversations. Also, what are those manners? Introduce yourself properly."- Hala said to the boy, now identified as Hau.

- "Sorry Grandpa. Hi, my name is Hau and I'm the Kahuna's grandson. Who are you?"-

- "I'm Elio. I just got to Alola. Nice to meet you."- Elio said while shaking hands with Hau.

- "I see. Welcome to Alola then. What's going on here?"-

- "Well… you see…" - Lillie said and proceed to tell Hau what happened.

- "Wow. Did that really happen? I already like you Elio."-

- "Indeed. I think Elio deserves a reward."- Said Hala. In that the Kahuna takes out a Pokeball. – "I know you already have a Pokémon with you Elio, but I ask you to please accept this little girl."- A Pokémon comes out of the Pokéball. The Pokémon is blue in color and had a seal-like appearance. – "This little one is Popplio, she is one of the three initials of Alola, although at the moment I only have her."- Hala explained.

- "Pop!"-

- "Wow. Are you sure of this?"-

- "Hearing what you did, I have no doubt that Popplio will be happy with you."-

- "Then. Thank you very much."- Elio said as he approached the Pokémon. – "Hello, my name is Elio, and this is my partner Pikachu. I hope we get along."-

- "Pika!"-

- "Pop!"- The Pokémon exclaimed with excitement as she climbed on the head of her new trainer.

- "Hahaha. Looks like you already found your place"-

- "Cool! You can come out too, friend."- Hau said while taking out a Pokéball. From that Pokéball came a green Pokémon that had the appearance of an owl, the Pokémon landed on Hau's head. – "This is Rowlet. He's been my partner for five years, when I was eleven."-

- "Row!"-

- "So, you chose the grass starter. That means that someone else chose the fire one since Popplio was the only one left."- Saying this, the atmosphere tensed a bit. – "Did I say something wrong?"-

- "N-No. I just don't want to talk about it."- Hau said in a depressed tone.

- "S-Sorry"-

At that Hau shakes his head and returns to his usual cheerful personality. - "Don't be. This is not the time to bring up the past. The important thing is that I can finally participate in the Island Challenge."-

- "Island Challenge?"- Elio asked, Kukui interrupts the conversation.

- "Four Islands. You travel to each of the four islands here in the Alola region. The island challenge is about aiming to be the strongest Trainer."-

- "That's sounds so cool! Can I participate?"-

- "Of course! Anyone is welcome to participate."- Said Hala. – "Anyway, soon we will have a festival in honor of Tapu Koko. In that festival there is always a fight. What do you think of both facing each other?"-

- "Yeah. That'll be cool"- Said Hau.

- "Sure. Wait, speaking of Tapu Koko. He gave me this."- Elio said as he took out the object that Tapu Koko gave him.

- "Is that…? I see... Could you give me that stone for a moment? I want to analyze it, don't worry, I'll return it to you tomorrow."-

- "Sure."- Elio hands the stone to Hala.

- "Well, that's been enough emotions for one day."- Kukui said. – "By the way Elio, take this."- Kukui hands Elio a device. – "You may already know this, but this is a Pokedex. It may help you since you are new here."-

- "Thanks professor!"-

- "Well, I think it's time to go home. You should introduce your new friend to Pokémon mother. Tomorrow before the festival I'll come for you. I want to give you another thing that can help you in your challenge."-

- "Okay. See you tomorrow then." - After this, Elio returns home. Kukui and Lillie also leave. In that Hala notices his grandson a little sad.

- "Are you alright Hau?"-

- "Yeah, it's just... she could have been with us right now."-

Knowing what he meant, Hala hugs his grandson. - "I know. But don't be sad, I know that one day you will meet again."-

- "I know... That's why I want to do the island challenge. I want to find her and bring her back."- Hau said with a determined look.

Helio's house.

- "Mom, we are back!"- Elio said as he entered his house.

- "Welcome back Elio. Who is your new friend?"- His mother said while looking at Popplio.

- "Well... it's a long story."- Elio begins to explain everything that happened to his mother.

- "Wow, my son is a complete Casanova. Tell me more about that girl."-

- "Mom!"-

- "Sorry, sorry. Well, Popplio, welcome to the family. Take good care of my son."-

- "Pop!"-

After this and after dinner Elio went to sleep, impatient for all the adventures that await him.

As you can see, the ages are slightly changed, this way I can touch a little more mature themes in the story.
