"Esben calm down you're going to be fine." Rudrick said watching Esben pace back and forth in the room from his chair. Esben and Artham had come to visit the Green Hollows again, but this time it was not only for seeing a friend but to ask a question. The brothers always stayed at Rudrick's house whenever they came. They've all been friends since both Rudrick and Esben were fifteen and Artham being seventeen. But now they all grew up and became close friends almost like brothers, sticking together through everything. And now was the perfect moment to help Esben who planned to ask Nia for her hand in marriage that night. "What if she says no?! How can I calm down!" Esben said pacing more faster. Artham who sat in a chair across the small table from Rudrick looked up from his book. "Es', if Nia didn't love you I think she would've said something by now.", he said.

"Are you sure?" Esben said looking at Artham and Rudrick with a worried look. Then he went back to pacing

"Artham's right Esben, she would say something if there's a problem. Besides she's been your girlfriend since you were seventeen remember?" Rudrick said with a smirk.

"Yeah I know." Esben said rubbing his forehead.

"Then stop worrying Esben. Everything's going to be fine." Artham said.

"Easy for you say you're not the one who's going to pop the question to a girl that you've known for five years." Esben said.

"To be honest I'm surprised that Artham wasn't the first one to get married. You know since you're so madly in love with Arundel. You're twenty-two and you knew her since you were...six?" Rudrick said.

Artham was about to say that he was five when he met her but Esben said it for him. "Well me and Arundel think it's just not time for that now." Artham said.

"Just watch Rudrick, Artham won't ask until he has white hair." Esben said. Rudrick laughed then tried to hide it once Artham looked up again at Esben then Rudrick then back to his book. "Very funny." He said. They were silent for a bit until Esben looked worried again. "Wait what am I even going to say?!"

"Here we go again." Artham said while putting down his book.

"Es', I've never proposed to someone before but I think you're supposed to say something like, oh, I don't know. 'Will you marry me?'" Rudrick said.

Esben thought about this for minute, "Yeah, that does sound like a good idea."

Rudrick and Artham rolled their eyes. "You could also tell her that you love her a lot." Artham suggested.

"Yeah that's another good one." Esben said.

"And when she says yes just hug her and kiss her." Rudrick said.

"Perfect!" Esben said with a smile on his face but it disappeared. "What time is it?" They all looked at the clock that stood in the corner of the room. "Holy Toothy Cow I got to go!" Esben said as he ran out of the room. Rudrick smiled and shook his head. "Good luck!" He yelled to Esben. Then he heard a distant "Thank you!" Rudrick looked down at the table and saw the box that held the diamond ring for Nia. He looked up at Artham who smiled back but both of their smiles vanished when they realized what they just saw. Rudrick opened the box and saw a ring in there then he looked up at Artham again and they both said, "OH NO!" They both ran out the door just in time to hear Esben go out of the house. Once they caught up Esben who was as nervous as ever gave him the box. Then he got on his horse and ran into the distance.

A few hours passed and Artham and Rudrick were sitting in the living room. Artham was reading a book on the sofa and Rudrick was in the rocking chair enjoying the sound of the crackling fire in the fire place. Then some noise came from outside then Esben burst through the door with the biggest smile on his face and yelling, "SHE SAID YEEEEEEESSSSS!" Both Rudrick and Artham got up and the three friends hugged and laughed together like they did when they were young teens.

The time had come for Esben and Artham to sail back to Anniera along with Nia and her mother, Wendolyn. Her father, Podo, decided to stay for bit longer so that he could pack up some more. He planned to sail at the beginning of winter. Artham said goodbye and went onto the boat but Esben and Rudrick wanted to talk for just a little bit longer. "Well, I guess I'll see you later, Es'."

"Yeah. Thank you."

"For what?"

"For always sticking with me and Artham."

" You're welcome. That's what friends are for."

"Well, I have a question for you."

"You do?"

"Yep."

"What is it?"

"Will you be my best man at my wedding?"

At first Rudrick was speechless. The best man of the king's wedding. "You really want me to be your best man? I didn't know there would be a best man for the King of Anniera."

Esben smiled, "You know you don't have to call me that. I'm still that wonderful best friend of yours."

They both laughed. "Yeah I guess you're right."

"I'm always right."

"Yeah except that time where you said you were always right."

They both laughed again. "So what do you say, Rudrick?"

"Well I am your best friend after all so I might as well be your best man. Besides I can't miss your wedding!"

Then they both shook hands and hugged. And just before Esben was about to go he stopped and turned back. "Hey Rudrick secret hand shake?" Rudrick smiled as they did their hand shake that they made up when they were kids. Then he waved them all goodbye as they sailed to Anniera.
