Hey guys! I'm back with chapter 3 and like I told you previously, this chapter will focus on the view of the camp cretaceous campers. If you watch(ed) camp cretaceous, you'll know who I'm talking about, but that's what I wanted to tell y'all. Also, I should've told you guys earlier that I got inspiration for some of the main events in this story from the Hulu television series Lost. If you watch(ed) Lost, you'll also know what main events I'm talking about. Anyways, here's chapter 3!
(Half an hour before the plane crashed) . . .
"Where are you going, Ben?" Brooklynn queried.
"Oh, I was just heading out to do some gathering, if that's okay." Ben responded.
"For sure. Where are you going for gathering?"
"Half a mile toward the green hill—by the pond. Not too far from here."
"Okay, be safe," Brooklynn began to turn around, "And be back in twenty minutes for dinner."
"Are you going somewhere, Ben?" Yaz hopped up beside Brooklynn.
"Ya, to the pond for some berry picking." Ben answered in a hushed voice.
"Ooh, I'll come too. I could probably catch some fish for tonight." Yaz threw her hand-crafted spear clean into the knot of a tree trunk.
"Ya, that'd be great. I haven't got any plans for tonight," Brooklynn started, "I was going to bug Kenji to pick some mangoes for dinner, but I guess you guys got it covered so . . . thanks." Brooklynn winked.
Yaz and Ben headed out into the jungle.
Meanwhile, Kenji lounged in what was left of a small patch of sunlight. He was scanning an old magazine found in one of the destroyed Jurassic Park cars. A bottle of expired soda lay on the table to his left.
Darius and Sammy were digging up things around their treehouse.
"Hey, Darius!" Sammy squealed.
Darius rushed over, "What is it, Sammy?"
"I found this gem. It looks like a diamond, honestly—but there's no way diamonds are buried on Isla Nublar."
"I mean," Darius thought for a moment, "It could be something from the volcano. It's probably not a diamond but it could be a zircon gem."
"Really? This looks precious, almost like somebody buried it here, hoping to come back to it someday." Sammy argued.
"That doesn't seem likely. Some gems like zircon, topaz, and rubies sometimes crystalize in the volcanic magma or gas bubbles—making them gems."
"I don't know, Darius."
"Either way, it ended up here, and now we must figure out what to do with it."
"I think we should bury it back."
"What! Something this valuable?"
"We're on an island, Darius. There is no use for treasure here. Plus, if you take it from the island, you would be stealing."
Darius groaned, "Fine, let's just bury it back into the dirt."
"Mm hm." Sammy nodded her head, pressing her lips together.
"But you know," Darius started, "It will only be a matter of time before Kenji discovers this gem and takes it for himself."
"At least it won't be you," Sammy pointed to Darius, "Whose stealing."
Darius rolled his eyes and continued digging the gem up.
Fifteen minutes later, Yaz and Ben were back with a cluster of berries lying in the hem of Ben's shirt, all tucked away, and two small fish stabbed into the point of Yaz's spear.
"Well done, my friends," Brooklynn hustled over, clapping her hands, "This will make an excellent meal for tonight. I'm going to start cooking. Can you guys help clear the table?"
"Ya, for sure." Ben and Yaz said in unison.
"Kenji!" Brooklynn shouted at the rich boy, still impractically staring at that old magazine.
"What?" Kenji retorted, irritated by the disturbance.
"Help Ben and Yaz clear the table. You know, a lot of the stuff on there is yours."
Kenji groaned and strolled up the treehouse.
In just a few minutes, the table was set, and dinner was ready: A plate neatly cooked and sliced fish, a bowl of berries and ripe plums, and a cup of water for everyone.
"Looks decent," Darius acknowledged, taking his seat, "Let's eat."
The six hungry campers dug into the rich and nutritious meal.
Brooklynn took a picture of them with the working print out camera they scavenged at main street, "Hey, Kenji, where did you put that old wooden frame, you found like two days ago?"
"That? I put it . . ." Kenji traced the air with his finger, as if he was trying to draw the object, "I don't know. Maybe in Sammy's trunk?"
"My trunk? Why?" Sammy queried.
"I don't know!" Kenji threw his hands up in the air, "You said you like wood, so I . . . uh—thought you might like a wooden frame?"
They all burst out laughing.
"Oh, Ken-" Darius began but was cut off. He was breathing like his life depended on it, eyes wide as the moon—only in terror, not surprise joy.
"Darius-what's wrong?" Yaz waved a hand in front of his face, but Darius didn't peel his eyes away from the horrifying sight that stood in his—all their lines of view.
Brooklynn decided to look in the same direction, "Oh my gosh." She covered her mouth with one hand and pointed at the sight with the other, quivering hand.
The rest of the campers looked in that direction.
Sammy screamed and Ben's jaw dropped.
Right in front of their eyes, was a plane crashing down full speed into the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
That's chapter 3 guys! I wrote it a lot sooner than I thought I could. This chapter was focusing on the camper's view and the next one will either focus on the camper's view entirely or half of the chapter will focus on the camper's view and half of the chapter will focus on the ninja's view. Without further information, chapter 4 will be on soon! Please review! Thank you for reading!
