Ch 12
Cal, BD, and Bode went to Koboh for the third time to fight Dagan but first they were blocked by Urgost, Fist of Rayvis.
Urgost had an unblockable swipe with his hammer as well as a shockwave slam but Cal parried the strikes while striking back and parrying again.
After a few minutes of parrying, striking, and parrying again, Urgost finally went down.
After solving a puzzle to get into the building, Cal and Bode had their third rematch with Dagan, who used the Force to make a new arm for himself. Dagan's attacks came from the previous fights in the first phase and Cal parried while attacking and he repeated the process while Bode flew around, firing his blaster pistols and zapping Bode with shock grenades.
Then Dagan threw his saber which struck Bode's jet pack and Bode crashed the floor, knocked out.
Dagan had a Force shield whenever he did an unblockable slam strike which Cal could only dodge.
Cal kept parrying Dagan's strikes while striking back and parrying again. Then Cal slashed Dagan in the shoulder and Dagan started cloning himself.
Cal parried all of the clones' strikes while making them disappear with a single strike.
Then Cal ignited the double-blade and took out the rest of the clones with a single spin.
Dagan tried to ram Cal with a damaging shield but Cal parried that attack while following-up with slashing and striking.
Dagan summoned Force orbs and shot them at Cal but the Jedi rolled out of the way and parried Dagan's strikes while counterattacking.
Dagan and Cal got into a bladelock and Cal separated before slashing Dagan's other shoulder.
Dagan kept cloning himself but Cal focused on the real Dagan and parried while striking back.
Eventually, Dagan Force pushed Cal down but Cal disguised himself as Santari with a Force illusion.
"You've strayed from the path." Santari said. "You are no Jedi."
Then the illusion dropped.
"YOU!" Dagan said, enraged. "Tanalorr is -"
A purple slash of his crossguard saber finally ended the Dark Jedi for good.
Bode recovered and Cal grabbed the Compass of Tanalorr before they went to Jedha to bring it to Cordova.
Bode wanted the compass to keep his daughter Kata safe. He was an Imperial spy as well as a Jedi. Bode stabbed Cordova through with his saber before he fled on his speeder bike with Cal chasing him on his own bike.
A scout trooper on a speeder bike rammed into Cal's bike. Cal and the trooper crossed blades before Cal Force pushed the trooper into a TIE fighter and he had to fight Bode.
Bode slashed and struck but Cal parried before slashing back. Then Bode disarmed Cal before shooting him off the precipice but BD saved Cal with a grappling hook.
The Empire attacked the Archive because Bode tipped them off but Cere and the Anchorites defended it. Waves of stormtroopers, scout troopers, Jumptroopers, Purge troopers, and rocket launcher troopers poured in but Cere and the others held the line.
Flashes of blue and red split the air as bodies on both sides fell.
Cere and Merrin struck down many troopers and Cere protected herself with a Force bubble but more troopers poured in.
"NO MORE!" Cere shouted.
With all her strength, Cere called down the ceiling onto the Imperial forces and they were instantly crushed.
The Sith Lord Darth Vader came and Cere parried all his strikes and dodged his unblockable strikes while slashing back.
Then Cere pulled down the flaming Archive on Vader but the Sith still survived, soaked in fire. Vader had a three-hit combo and an unblockable strike.
Cere parried the strikes before dodging and striking back.
Then Cere charged and struck Vader in the side but Vader stabbed her heart at the same time.
Vader strode away as Cere fell.
Cal held her in his arms as she looked up at him.
"Cal. Trilla." Then Cere went limp and her eyes closed.
On the Mantis, Merrin brought the surviving Jedi books from the Archive. An air of hopelessness fell around the group as they were still reeling from their friend's death.
"We were so close to a second chance." Cal said.
"What a rotten raw deal!" Greez said. "How could Bode be a Jedi and be an Imperial spy?"
"Why couldn't we sense him?" Cal asked.
"He deceived us all." Merrin said.
"No. I still should have been able to -"
"Now that's enough!" Greez said. "What Bode did, that's on him. It's not on you. It's not on anyone. We all know it's a rigged game but we choose how to play!"
"It's a shame there's not a bounty on his head." Merrin said. "We could have hunted him with a guild tracker."
Then the crew went to the holotable to find Bode and at first there was nothing.
"Damnit!" Cal said as he banged the holotable in frustration and stormed off.
"Cal." Greez said. "The signal!"
Cal ran back and saw the faint red dot.
"It's faint." Cal noted. "BD, dial it in."
BD said that Bode took a detour.
"Why would Bode take a detour?" Greez asked.
"He's got a daughter." Cal explained. "Maybe that's where she lives."
"And we could catch him there." Merrin said in a wary voice. "But this feels like a trap."
"Yeah, it does." Cal agreed. "So what do you think? Do we risk it?"
"I don't see what choice we got." Greez replied.
"For Cere." Cal said and the others nodded.
They were going to Tanalorr.
