Sam stared at Pete's family by the door, they were angry and she couldn't blame them. How was she supposed to salvage this mess?
"Sam, please do something!" Pete implored.
Laura stared at them angrily, "I can't believe you could be this creepy, I can't wait to leave."
Pete moaned, "If only there were some way I could talk to you all, I just wanted to help be a part of my little girl's big day."
Little Pete smiled, "I see you, Grandpa Pete."
"You do!?" Pete shrieked and little Pete nodded eagerly.
"Pete," Laura said angrily, "Now is not a good time to be playing make believe."
"Tell her I remember she wanted to name her kids; Moon Beam, Samuel, and Lucy. She also wanted to have a dog named Johnny."
Little Pete repeated all of that and Laura and Carol both paled.
"She also wanted us to give her a baby brother named Kyle."
"How?" Laura asked tearfully.
Sam told them how Pete had died and how he was now a ghost.
"He just really wanted to see his little girl go walking down the aisle."
"Well then, I'm staying." Laura said.
"I can agree." Carol replied.
Laura knelt in front of little Pete. "How come you didn't say anything earlier?"
"Everyone already thinks I'm weird."
"No you're not, all of us are special in our own way." Pete said.

The wedding had been beautiful and the cleanup had begun.
Carol was helping Sam, "Pete was and is such a good man, if anyone should've gotten into heaven, it should've been him."
"Why were you so cruel to him?" Sam asked softly.
"When we met I was on the rebound and even though quiet, super, cheerful wasn't my type I didn't want to be alone.
I knew we weren't meant to be together but by the time I fully realized it I was pregnant and we had to get married to please our families.
I lost our son at five months and Pete was so wonderful, I grew to love him and we had Laura."
Carol took a breath to steady herself.
"We tried to have more children but it didn't happen, I took it out on Pete and then Jerry and I started having an affair."
Carol looked around, "Pete, if you're still in here, I'm sorry for everything and thank you for being here for Laura on her big day."
Pete smiled, "I'm glad I got to see it also."
He then headed upstairs.
He had promised Little Pete some bedtime stories.
