It began in the real world where one man was a huge fan of World of Warcraft. The first time he went online into World of Warcraft was during the beginning of Cataclysm in 2010 and has been buying one expansion after another to continue playing the game. However, his time playing Warcraft was coming to an end when he went and bought Battle for Azeroth, which was an expansion he never really liked. Then he saw the trailer of Shadowlands and decide not to buy anymore expansions and just watch it on the internet by watching some streamers play the game. He made the right choice not buying the game because Shadowlands was a complete failure with the lack of storytelling and became just as bad as Battle for Azeroth. It was at this time he decide to go play something else.

He returns to playing Warcraft, but he went back to the remake of Warcraft Reforged, which was also one of the worst remakes ever made. He never bother to replay the campaign or go against other players online, but he was a fan of world editor and was really good with some of the maps he made. One of his best maps was the Battle of Stratholme where he made an alternative story of what would happen if Arthas was too late to begin the purging of Stratholme, which forces Uther and Jaina to join Arthas on preventing the undead from leaving the city. It is this moment he had an idea of creating a custom campaign map.

After a long time of making this campaign, with the camera shots, models, cut scenes, storytelling and fixing the AI, he finally completes his first custom campaign map. The moment it was complete, he decide to publish for the community to play and hope to get some good reviews.

His story was around his own character that would change the fate of Lordaeron to his favour. His character's name is Maverick, and he was next in line to become the next Guardian of Azeroth. Since Khadgar refuse to take the title of Guardian, the wizards of the Kirin Tor decide to find another candidate to help. Maverick was next in line to take the title. His title and power alone would be enough to stop the upcoming conflicts that threatens Azeroth. His power alone would have been enough to stop the Scourge from sieging Dalaran and prevent Arthas from committing unspeakable acts across Lordaeron. However, his rise to power would lead to his downfall as the wizards would start to realise the mistake they made.

Maverick had his own ways of doing things and creating many experiments to create the perfect weapon. As he continues to experiment, the wizards decide to take action and stops his experiments on others. This leads to a battle between him and the other wizards, which ends in his defeat and his imprisonment underneath Dalaran. The experiment was a failure, so they left him inside a powerful cell where none can use any spells or do anything to escape.

The seal would never be eternal, and it was Archimonde who help free him from his captivity. It all happen when Archimonde was brought into Azeroth, and the first thing he did was use his almighty power to crush the buildings of Dalaran to nothing. The collapse of its foundations was enough to cause tremors underneath the city into the dungeons where he can feel every bit of it. This did cause damage to the dungeons and release many of the experiments and other creatures, but it was also enough to cause cracks into his prison cell that would be enough to damage many of the seals containing him. This was his opportunity, so he began to force his way out of the magic handcuffs by ripping the skin off, then attempt to pull the chains off the broken wall to use them as a weapon to damage the rest of the seals inside the room. The last problem was the magic collar around his neck that prevents him from using magic, so escaping this cell was not going to be very easy. He had to spill much of his blood and to endure as much pain as he can in order to get out of the cell. As soon as he broke the seals, he finally casts a spell to smash open the gate and cast a second spell to heal all of his injuries.

At long last I am free.

And it was this very moment his whole life would suddenly change.

.

.

.

When he falls asleep, he wakes up somewhere else

"Huh… W-Where am I?"

"This isn't my room! What is this!?"

He woke up to find himself in the interior of a broken building where the ceiling is completely gone and the sun was shining down at his face. He slowly gets up off the floor, stretches his body and yawns deeply. He looks around at the room and does not recognise anything here until he decides to go outside to see the impossible.

He left the room and made it outside to see the view of the dead city of Dalaran itself. He was shock to witness he was actually looking out in first person view. "N-No way… I recognise this place. Is this really…." He then looks to himself for a while and soon realise who he really is "Am I really Maverick?!"

"Okay… I got to calm down and think…" He turns away from the view and starts walking while talking to himself "What's the last thing you remember. . . . . . . . I finished the first chapter of the game. . . . Then I went to sleep. This has to be a dream, right? Did I seriously get Isekai'd into Warcraft?"

His expression would change to happiness and starts laughing at this stunning discovery. He looks up at the sky, spreads his arms out and shouts out "Holy shit! I'm in Azeroth!"

Maverick starts using this opportunity to run around the city to find no signs of any hostile creatures around him. He never felt worn out when running around and could go for much longer without working up a sweat. Next thing he does is find a suitable open area for him to test some magic.

"So I'm a wizard now with incredible magic powers. So I could just say the magic word and it should happen…." Maverick tests the first magic spell by stretching out his hand forward and says the words "Fireball." And out came a red magical symbol at the palm of his hand and releases a large fireball that destroys a large chunk of debris from a broken building. He was happy to see it actually works and begins casting a few more spells.

Next he went with 'Chain Lightning' by using his other hand to create a light blue symbol and out came a blast of lightning. Next he casts 'Mana Shield' by almost pressing both hands together and creates a small shimmering light in between his hands that last for a few seconds. A light blue dome surround himself and remains like this for a few seconds until it goes invisible. Next was targeting a nearby building that was still somehow intact, he uses 'Finger of Death' by pointing his right finger towards it and fires a red and black lightning bolt that easily pierces through the building and causes it to collapse.

"This is amazing…" He said, while looking at his hands and laughs happily. "I can do so much with this."

But then, because of Maverick using his magic and causing some noises, this woke up the nearby undead that still remain roaming the interior of this broken city. They would arise from nearby buildings or through holes in the ground to begin their daily walk around the city to search for any human flesh to devour. Frightened at the howling voices from undead ghouls, he quickly casts another spell to make himself invisible. He was surprise at first because he never had this spell of invincibility to his character.

Despite being invisible, Maverick continues to remain hidden and keeps his distance from the undead, due to the fear of them catching his smell and making them get closer to his location. He count several undead ghouls, four zombies and a few skeleton archers in the distance away from each other.

"Okay… I have to make a move…" Maverick thought to himself, then moves around the broken building in order to keep his distance from the ghouls. "Now think… How did the chapter go?"

This whole scene was a recreation of chapter two of his story. As soon as Maverick broke out of his cell and made it to the surface, he use this chance to cast all kinds of spells towards the incoming waves of undead approaching him. It was him as an overpower magician against an undead base inside the city. The main objective was to escape Dalaran, and to destroy the undead base as a secondary quest if given the choice to prevent the undead from sending more units to chase after him wherever he went. Instead of going after the base directly because it was further behind him, he decides to make the escape out of Dalaran.

Of course, staying invisible was never going to actually work forever in this because it only last for a minute. The moment he became visible was when he was moving away from the zombies and ghouls, then got close enough towards the skeleton archers. As soon as they saw him, all of them drop their jaws and force Maverick to attack with a blast of lightning from his hands to send it hitting all of the skeletons in front of him. The blast took them out, but the undead heard the noises again and quickly rushes over to the scene to chase after Maverick.

"Oh shit!"

Maverick continues to cast a few destructive spells to easily wipe them out, then proceeds to escape the area and continues his escape through the ruins. On his way out, he encounters a large abomination standing in his way and forces him to use the powerful technique 'Finger of Death' to fire a bolt of red and black lightning from his finger to easily obliterate the abomination. Thankfully his shield he put on earlier was active because the explosion of that abomination splatter its blood and guts all over the place, and the front of his body would be cover in purple blood.

He finally took a breather and relax for a few minutes to give himself time to recover from the fights against the undead. He could finally try to calm himself as the fight with the undead was making him tense and afraid because of the sight of them in front of him is actually so real these models look so real that this is no longer an actual game. The smell of the corpses was sickening to him.

"This is no longer a game anymore…." Maverick says to himself when leaning his arms against the nearby wall and leaning his head against his arms to leave him facing down at the floor. "What's going to happen if I actually die here…?"

"No… I shouldn't worry about that…" He stands up straight and turns away to look at the entrance "I'm a powerful wizard with so many abilities. I can conjure and do whatever I want, so that would mean that…." He starts to remember another spell he has not tries out yet, and so he aims his right hand forward and says the spell "Summon Revenant." And a small black magical symbol appears in front of the palm of his hand, while another one appears on the floor in front of him and quickly grew larger. He manage to summon a large revenant as his guardian protector. The revenant was a tall one with incredible strength with just a scythe and wields incredible power to easily tank against an abomination. One of its abilities allows it to create three footmen spirits and another to pull enemies towards it.

This was Maverick's actual backstory as his character was all about experimenting on people and creating different versions of the undead. Instead of raising people back from the dead, his plan was to extract the soul of a person and send them inside a suit of armour. The wizards discover his plan and sought to ensnare him and imprison him inside the dungeons underneath Dalaran.

His revenant known as 'Reaper', summoned three spiritual footmen and orders them to engage the undead. Maverick already gave it a command to engage any undead, and so it hovers forward to attack the incoming force of undead approaching them. They manage to succeed in wiping out a small force by themselves without Maverick's support, thanks to the strength that Reaper possess.

"This is perfect… The more abilities I start to remember, the more I can easily wipe everything out. Although I don't remember these abilities being overpowered during the start of the campaign… And Maverick is supposed to be a level one with lesser spells."

And so things were getting closer to the end of this chapter when his last challenge would be to face a Dreadlord. He had some demon bodyguards and a few elite undead warriors to defend him. As soon as he saw Maverick, he calls upon a meteor to fall from the sky and crash hard on the ground in front of the two to bring forth a large flaming golem that serves as a foot soldier for the Burning Legion. Maverick still had Reaper by his side and it straight away engages the flaming infernal. Maverick calls for more help when noticing a nearby watery pool and casts another summons to bring out a water elemental to attack the infernal with a flood of water. The impact of the water into fire causes enough steam to cover the whole area, which was enough for Maverick to go through with the spell invisibility to get behind the Dreadlord to attack from behind. Maverick surprises the Dreadlord and the others from behind by attacking with a single fireball that breaks apart and hits all enemy targets in front of him. Both he and the Dreadlord attack at the same time, with the Dreadlord casting a spell to send a blast of green flames, while Maverick creates a ball of lightning in the palm of his hands to throw it towards him, both would get hit directly. Thankfully the shield was still on for Maverick, but his last spell was enough to turn it off completely because he soon runs out of mana. His last spell was an earth magic to create a large boulder from the ground in front of him and fires it towards the Dreadlord to stun him.

"My mana… Oh shit…" Maverick would notice it as soon as he saw the shield broke up and feeling a sudden weak of energy right now. "I must've used too much…"

The Dreadlord rises back up and laughs, while still have the strength to continue this fight. "You are out of your league, human."

Thankfully, Reaper interferes in the fight by stabbing the Dreadlord through the back with the scythe, while letting the summon spirits distract the others. After stabbing him, Reaper pulls the scythe out of his back and turns its attention back to the others to fight the undead when realising this Dreadlord was pretty much dead. This would allow Maverick to use whatever mana he had left to cast another spell to siphon the Dreadlord's mana out of his body and bring it to him. Once he has enough, Maverick attacks with another blast of lightning to finally destroy the Dreadlord.

The exit was clear, Maverick escapes and leaves Reaper to defend his escape when seeing another wave of undead chasing after him. Reaper easily defends the entrance and cut down almost twelve enemy undead warriors until it finally collapses into pieces when losing all of its health. Maverick escapes outside and the undead remain inside the city.

"That takes care of that…." Maverick mutters to himself when looking back at the broken city. As he looks forward to see the valley ahead, he pauses when noticing a large army approaching him with an army of at least four hundred soldiers. The army was a mix of cavalry, footmen and support team of dwarves. He would soon remember this was meant to be a small army of twenty human soldiers defending a base, but now this turns out to be a version of Total War.

While Maverick stares at the army, his eyes gaze towards the leader in charge and mutters his name "Garithos…" He saw him riding at the front of his army with his large battle axe at the ready to give the signal to charge straight into the city. Seeing the man in real life really made him nervous as he knows exactly what kind of man Garithos really is and what he would say to him.

"Damn… I'm feeling a little nervous." Maverick said to himself, then shakes his head and his hands when he starts feeling the shivers. "Don't let this man intimidate you. Remember what happens in this scene and everything will be okay."

And so Maverick begins his walk towards the army to introduce himself to Garithos. As Garithos was ready to begin the march into the city, he pauses when seeing someone coming out from the broken gates and approaching him all by himself. He was surprise under that helmet of his that a surviving human is still alive in the city and is approaching them. Curious as this was, he decides to investigate by riding towards him to face him directly.

Maverick keeps walking and feels his heart was beating much faster the more Garithos was coming closer. He knows what kind of an asshole Garithos was in the game so seeing him real life in front of his face and ready to have a conversation with him was going to be difficult. This feeling is what would happen if you face your bully at school.

"Welcome to Dalaran. Garithos."

"Who are you? And how are you still alive?"

"My. . . My name is Maverick. I am once a Guardian in training from the Kirin Tor. Now I'm a survivor like you. There is an undead base inside the city, and I have manage to wipe out quite a handful before I made it out here." Maverick steps to the side and raise his right hand to point towards Dalaran, while still keeping his face towards Garithos "The city is all yours, and I wish to pledge my service towards you and the New Alliance you're building."

"Hmmmm, we shall see if you're loyal enough to be part of this New Alliance."

And so Garithos signals his army to advance into Dalaran and easily wipes out the remaining undead inside the city. Maverick smiles at the sight of this army charging inside the city and witnessing the events play out as he hope it would in the campaign he made, but it was so much better when seeing it up close and personal.

"This is marvellous. To think that I'm actually reliving the life of Maverick and the events of Warcraft. This is so exhilarating… I wonder what else I could do, now that I know how the events play out in this game. It's all real now, so whatever choice I make will affect the rest of the world. And it won't be long before I get my wife... Lady Thiccmane."
