Chapter 2: A world in decline two worlds collide.
Quick upload I know! I was already writing this while chapter 1 was still in development. Longer chapters are coming don't worry! What is happening to our beloved hero and above all our planet? How far can crime take the masked hero? And what horrors are there in store? Our stories collide. Here is the start of something new.
Two days would go by for Peter things weren't looking too great as crimes were rapidly increasing not only that the world itself was heading down a dark path Peter had in fact noticed this. He couldn't quite figure out what was going on. Wars had started and poverty was growing. Peter contemplated to fight in those wars but he had more than enough to do in the city as it was. The Avengers were scattered and weaker than ever.
It was now late in the evening and Peter was still out in the city he was exhausted but he didn't have much of a choice. His apartment was mostly empty and he rarely spent time there his life was mostly on the rooftops now. Unfortunately things would not get better from here as he received insight from news outlets that prisoners all around the country had escaped in a coordinated attack.
Despite his powers and his constant efforts Peter was fighting a losing battle and as each day went on by it became more apparent. That's when a sudden explosion shook the city. Peter turned to look from his vantage point only to see a train had been taken over by a huge group of heavily armed terrorists. With that Peter would quickly swing over to get to the train little did he know that this train ride will change him forever. The train was quickly speeding up and it was heading out from the city. Peter followed closely behind and eventually got on to the train.
For the next thirty minutes Peter would fight the terrorists however progress was slow as they had hostages. By now the train was in the far outskirts of the city. The skyline could still be seen in the far distance but it was fading away rapidly. Peter would discover through one of the terrorists that the train was set to blow up. With this information Peter took drastic measures and tried to get all of the innocent civilians out of the train he managed to gather them on the far end of the train as he separated the back end of the train with his sheer strength while getting shot at. Fortunately he was successful he didn't stick around with the hostages however as he had to make sure that the rest of the train was stopped before anyone could get hurt.
It had been over an hour and Peter was left alone on the speeding train with the last batch of terrorist. However much to his dismay the driver opted to blow up the train right then and there before they got to their destination which was a Nuclear power station. At least by staying on the train Peter avoided a much greater disaster unfortunately as he jumped out of the train it exploded violently sending him flying several meters into the air. The city was long gone by now Peter tried to slow his fall down but was unsuccessful he would hit the ground and pass out.
Later the next morning Peter woke up in an unknown location. It was in the middle of nowhere there were no signs or anything that would give him a clue to where he was. Therefore the Spider slowly stood as he had a few minor injuries. All he could do was aimlessly walk in one direction until civilization. Peter walked alone for several hours before stopping to remove his mask and catch a breather. Peter would rest until his senses picked up something rather odd. He couldn't quite understand it or make out what it was so he decided to check it out. Peter would change course and headed towards this overwhelming presence. He would repeatedly say to himself. "What in the world could be out here...I've never felt anything like this." Peter suddenly came to a complete stop in the middle of a beautiful meadow.
Peter had no idea what it was but something about this place seemed different or at least felt different defiantly not normal. He looked around constantly but nothing. Just empty vast fields somehow this place was driving him mad. Peter than suddenly collided with something as he walked along the fields. He fell to the ground rather harshly. "No way this is impossible... I mean come on an energy field? That or I've gone out of bounds which means I'm in a simulation. I knew it the Matrix was right all long." Peter joked to himself while exposing his love for media or pop culture.
That one collision would be enough to disturb a meditating Wanda Maximoff who instantly realised that she was not alone anymore. A few thoughts raced past her mind a part of her was glad to see another living and breathing human being. But the other was deeply angered and annoyed at this sudden revelation. Her eyes shot wide open as she found herself in the same approximate area of the disturbance she sensed. To her surprise nothing had actually gone through her hex therefore she walked out of it to see what made contact with it. Wanda was greeted with quite a strange and unexpected sight as she saw Peter on the ground with his right hand over his forehead indicating that he had bumped into something.
Peter would notice a few seconds later that he was being watched. Peter looked up only to see the Scarlet Witch herself. Now Peter had heard all of the stories and had a general idea of what this meant. So he instantly freaked out as he stumbled to get back up while speaking out in a slight stutter. "O-oh m..ms Maximoff how are you... where how did? I was just uh..." Peter's response wasn't vague it was nonsensical caught off guard his words just made absolutely no sense.
On the other hand Wanda was calm and collected. She tilted her head to the side slightly upon hearing Peter's frantic reaction. Wanda did find it somewhat amusing but her general expression remained somewhat cold and stern. That's when she uttered two words that would change Peter's life. "Peter Parker?"
The next upload will be up soon! Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter!
