Continuing to levitate in place without any problems, I tried to listen to the sensations of the flight itself and what my body is experiencing now and noticed something new.

Inside my body, I distinctly felt a vibration that was not there before, and which spread throughout my body, and, as I can guess, was the reason for my discovered ability to fly.

This vibration itself was quite weak and almost imperceptible. But it was impossible not to notice her because she was quite pleasant and tickled all my insides, which made me feel unusually light.

Closing my eyes again, I entered a state of meditation and tried to examine my body in more detail to find the source of this mystical vibration.

During his training with the monks, Aang was first taught how to sense his Qi to control it later. Still, without it, it would be impossible to use Airbending itself, so I quickly found the anomaly and more or less understood everything.

The source of the vibration, of course, as you might guess, was my Qi itself, the life energy that every person in this world has, although only benders can use it to the fullest.

Qi itself is produced by the body and flows throughout the body, through special channels, and then collects in the Sea of Qi, from where benders scoop it up to use bending.

And it is this energy contained in my body that is now actively vibrating, which causes my weightlessness and the possibility of flight.

I assume that the vibration of my qi, and hence the flight itself, is caused precisely by that flow of unknown energy, most likely cosmic, which enters in a small amount into my open chakra, at the top of my head.

This seems to be how this Airbending sub-skill works, and if I'm not mistaken, it's because of the special properties of the Air Nomads' chi that the cosmic energy has such an effect on my life energy.

Still, Airbending is the most flexible and changeable, which means that the Qi of benders itself is like that, so cosmic energy, which not many people can access anyway, can bestow levitation bending.

There is still an open question about chakra and how dropping one's earthly attachments can open it, and why my assumptions are correct that only, if you open the seventh chakra first, you can learn to fly, not to mention the rest of my theories, but I better not bother with this.

Since everything works, and there are no problems, it is better not to touch anything and leave everything as it is.

I can only, for the last time, assume that when I was in that mental space, saying goodbye to once close people and letting them all go, breaking all ties, my qi, under the influence of my feelings and emotions, acquired a certain tone, which somehow helped to break the seal and allow my energy to flow freely through this chakra.

It was the range of emotions that I experienced during this 'test' that was important, and this is what affects the opening of the chakra. When you want to open the other six chakras, you need different emotions and each spectrum affects a specific chakra. If I'm right, of course.

Something this whole situation reminds me of the manga 'Naruto', where to open the Mangekyo Sharingan, Uchihas need to experience negative emotions associated with the death of loved ones.

There seems to have been a theory that this is because, under the influence of dark emotions, a special chakra is produced in the Uchiha's eyes, which helps their dojutsu evolve. But, again, there is no evidence that my theories are correct, and it doesn't matter that much.

The main thing is that I can now fly like a bird in the sky and for this, I do not need my glider. And in this world, this is a very, very profitable trump card. Recall the same Zaheer, who, because of this ability, became an elusive and very dangerous enemy.

True, the fact that I discovered the ability to fly and now roughly understand the principle of this sub-skill does not mean that everything is so good.

Now, I need to understand how to use it, and if can I use it at my own will, otherwise, now, I just hung in the air against my will, and continue to hang.

Closing my eyes again and feeling my qi, I tried to use it in the usual way and even managed to control the air in my igloo without a single movement, creating a gentle wind, but this is not exactly what I wanted to do now.

Although, it's nice to know that even though my chi is constantly vibrating, I can still use it for bending. Zaheer could do it too, but it didn't hurt to make sure once again.

Since the previous method didn't work, I concentrated even harder and tried to control the qi to stop it from vibrating. For a second, it seemed to me that everything worked out, and I even stopped levitating, but then, my qi rebelled, and I suddenly took off sharply into the air and hit my head on the ceiling of the ice igloo.

"So, the control method did not work, can it just block access to cosmic energy?" - I thought aloud, rubbing my bruised head.

Since there was no other idea anyway, I tried to implement my idea and again entered the state of meditation, during which I could feel the open chakra on my head.

This time, I tried to make sure that the grains of alien energy, which by themselves penetrate my body, stop doing this and affect my qi.

In some unknown way, I succeeded, and even the chakra remained open, although something like a metaphysical membrane of qi appeared, which does not allow cosmic energy to pass through, as a result of which the vibration began to fade, and I stood firmly on my feet.

Feeling my body and not noticing any deviations, except for a bump on my head, I breathed a sigh of relief. Okay, the first step has been taken. I learned to turn off the flight. And now, I need to learn how to turn it back on.

Since the principle is now clear, I tried to remove the membrane and again allow the cosmic energy to enter me through the chakra, and this time, I tried to do it without the use of meditation.

It took almost twenty seconds, but I succeeded in my plan, I managed to destroy the membrane with a little Qi shock, and I again took off the ground and hovered in the air. It turned out for quite a long time and this cannot be used in battle, so I need to train and try to bring the skill of turning on and off the flight to automaticity so that I can start the flight in less than a second or, on the contrary, finish it.

On the other hand, the very ability to fly practically does not waste energy, yet it works on cosmic energy, which I receive from outside, and she is quite instinctive, so the need to activate is her only drawback, so it is not surprising that Guru Laghima was able to spend 40 consecutive years in the air without any problems.

Now, since it turned out so well, it's time to test my new ability in action. Flying carefully to the exit of the igloo, I stuck my head out and saw that it was still night. More precisely, what is considered to be a night at the South Pole.

Judging by the position of the sun, it has been no more than three hours since I started meditating, which means I can fly unnoticed for the rest of the night.

I don't want to advertise this unique ability yet, let it be better as a hidden trump card, but I can't deny myself the pleasure of flying either, so after flying out of the igloo, I began to rise higher into the sky and move away from the village of Sokki and Katara, gradually picking up speed until it reaches its maximum.

"YOOOOOOHHHHOOOO!" - I could not contain my delight and shouted at the top of my lungs, cutting through the starless sky, moving at the speed of a racing car.

It was an indescribable feeling, and it was so easy to fly as if I had been doing it all my life, that's all. It's even easier than flying with a glider. It looks like I became one with the wind.

True, I got so carried away that I completely forgot that I had to keep track of where I was flying, and after half an hour, I realized that I was a little lost.

Realizing this, I slowed down and, sinking lower, began to try to find at least some landmarks. The problem is that I have moved farther to the South Pole, where no one lives except for wild animals, and here the same desert and snowy view is everywhere, which does not help at all to understand where I am.

Since I didn't want to escalate the situation, I was about to turn back and try to go back to the ocean to find my friends' village from above, but then, in the distance, I heard the faint rumble of a snowstorm.

Looking in that direction and flying closer to satisfy my curiosity, I saw a strange picture in the form of a blizzard, which for some reason was concentrated very close to the ground and in only one place, forming a circle.

"Is this really…" - I muttered in surprise, realizing that I accidentally managed to find the place where the Southern Spirit Portal is located.

This snowstorm hides a sacred forest, in which, according to what they said in the animated series and telling Gyatso, there is one of the two sealed entrances to the world of spirits (the second is located at the North Pole), which can only be opened by the Avatar himself.

This place was created by the first Avatar Wan and it serves as a barrier that separates the two worlds from each other to prevent war between humans and spirits.

Of course, I'm not going to open the portal by any means, especially when the world is already such a mess, but no one said that I can't just look at the closed portal. Still, I'm curious how it's looking.

Deciding not to miss this chance, after all, I am going to leave the South Pole soon and will not be able to return for quite some time, I decided to go to the portal and inspect it.

Perhaps this will help me understand a little more about the essence of the Avatar and the spirit that lives in my body.

Still, there can't be an ordinary place where two different worlds intersect, even if the passage is sealed, and I have a feeling that it would be worth visiting.
