Subaru with his ground dragon's incredible speed quickly made it the Sanctuary. He wasn't sure how he even knew it existed or the information regarding it but he just knew. He was wasn't surprised when met by a boy named Garfiel.
"Jus who tha hell are ya?" Garfiel asked
Subaru frowned, "Honestly I'm not even sure anymore"
Garfiel got angry at his response, "Well ya better leave before I beat ya ass I'm the shield of the Sanctuary"
Subaru just laughed, he knew he'd have to beat Garfiel in a fight too gain his respect so he did that. With one swift move he punched Garfiel in the stomach launching him into a wall 500m away.
"What tha" Garfiel remarked barely being able to get up
Subaru laughed, "I don't wish too harm anyone here I just guessed your the type who would want me to prove my strength too you"
Garfiel after seeing his strength with a single kick just smirked, "Well ya right about that"
"So you gon tell me ya name now?" Garfiel asked
Subaru frowned, "It be best if you didn't know, I'm probably the most wanted man in the world right now"
"Why's dat?"
"Don't want to talk about it" Subaru frowned
"Whateva"
Garfiel knew he couldn't do anything about this man being here so left him too his own devices.
Subaru walked around a bit now knowing where the shrine is too talk too the Witch of Greed. He goes there and sees the room too begin the trial but before he could enter.
"Subaru?" a familiar voice said behind him
Subaru was shocked too see Emilia, at this point he had much more important fish too fry and isn't as mad as he was previously at her.
"Yes" Subaru replied
Subaru noticed she seemed... Different her eyes almost seemed dead.
"Can you kill me?" Emilia asked with a deadpan voice
'What the hell? Wonder what happened to her'
"No I can't" Subaru replied with a glare of confusion
Emilia just nodded and walked away.
Subaru questioning what the hell just happened decided too enter the trial. He passed out and when he opened his eyes, he was at the Tea Party.
"Hello Subaru" Echidna said too him
"Likewise Echidna" Subaru grinned
Subaru sat down and took a seat next too the witch. His only goal was any information she could give regarding Pandora. He wasn't sure how accurate his information was since he was fooled by her and ended up killing his best friend.
"So why did you come here?" Echidna asked
"Pandora" Subaru replied sharply
"Hmmm what about her?"
"Any information you have regarding her or how too kill her, resist her power, source of her power whatever"
Echidna questioned the boy's sanity, not even Satella could kill her let alone some boy.
"You seem confident do you realize her power?"
Subaru glared at her, "I didn't come her for you to evaluate me answer my questions if you have answers that's all I came here too do"
Echidna was surprised, she honestly felt fear just from the aura surrounding the boy which she couldn't understand. It wasn't a authority nor divine protection. It felt like pure blood lust anger, vengeance.
"Well information regarding the Witch of Vanity is scarce, I don't know any counters too her abilities but there are a few places you may want too look for answers"
"Cut to the point"
"What a interesting boy you are-"
"No I don't want to form a fucking contract"
Echidna was caught off once again, this boy was a anomaly, almost like a being that shouldn't exist.
"Vincent, and the Plaides Watch Tower" she said quickly
"Thank you for the information" Subaru said ready too leave
Echidna was beyond fascinated by this boy she couldn't just let him go she wanted too learn more about him.
"Wait before you leave can I ask you something" Echidna says in a seductive voice
"Depends" Subaru replied
"What is your goal?"
"Too kill Pandora, destroy the Witch Cult and stop this world's time loop bullshit" Subaru replied
"Interesting, very few people know that, but I can't help but find it funny that you think your capable of doing such a task" The witch remarked trying too get any emotion out of the boy
"If you weren't already dead I'd kill you for saying that" Subaru glared at her eyes of hatred.
Echidna felt actually intimidated by this boy, she didn't get it but her body was screaming at her too run.
"You should also know Emilia has been trying to break out of the trials, I think I broke her mind" Echidna laughed
"Thanks you did me a favor" The boy said
Echidna was lost beyond words, she gave up. She has never given up before but talking to this boy is making her question her own sanity.
"Fine you can leave"
The false reality disappeared and Subaru woke up.
'Not that helpful... Vincent, and the Plaides Watch Tower? I suppose I probaly would have a safe haven within the Sacred Vollachia Empire after my actions in the Kingdom of Lugina, going to the watch tower would be quicker though so I guess I should do that first'
Subaru lost in thought then saw Roswaal making his way towards him.
'Why the hell is he here? Am I going too have too kill him too?'
"Why what a smartttt choice too come here after the news I heard it seems the kingdom is on a man hunt for you" Roswaal remarked
"I simply came here too chat with Echidna"
"So you know my teacher?" Roswaal questioned
"Not personally, but anyways are you here too fight me or what?" Subaru asked
Roswaal laughed, "I don't care at all what you do as far as I'm concerned this timeline is already beyond ruined"
Subaru was caught off guard, does he know about the meta-looping?
"This timeline isn't ruined, once I kill Pandora and end the Witch Cult my job is done" Subaru stated
"You seem confident yet your simply going to die" Roswaal stated
"This time, I have power that shouldn't even be possible" Subaru remarked
"Whatever you sayyy"
Emilia noticing Roswaal came up too him eyes void of any emotion.
'Ok what the hell is wrong with her? I don't know why but I sort of feel bad whatever she went through looks like her mind is broken'
"Lord Roswaal please kill me" Emilia asked
Roswaal pondered the circumstances they were in and decided too honor her request stabbing directly through her heart killing her instantly. Subaru was surprised by this, but didn't particularly care either way.
"Could've just let her suffer, but you granted her a painless death how nice of you" Subaru mocked Roswaal
Subaru sensing the spirit Puck also known as the 'Beast of the End' manifesting prepared an attack that was made too kill spirits.
"You dare Roswaal?" The giant fire spirit said after he formed his full size
Subaru just grinned, "Spirit Annihilation" he muttered while holding his hand out
Suddenly 40 black rods surrounded the fire spirit attaching themselves too it, the rods drain mana almost instantly, reducing the spirit too nothing within seconds.
"Well that worked well" Subaru noted out loud
Roswaal had not a clue what power he just used was, he was intrigued but he felt the need too leave almost like a instinct too run.
Before Roswaal could leave he was stabbed in the heart by Subaru.
"Why?" Roswaal said with his laugh breathe
"You really thought I'd forgive you for the scheming you did? Now you perish" Roswaal body dropping to the ground with the final word.
'Great, Emilia is dead, I killed Roswaal, the Great Spirit of Fire... I just hope Crusch is still alive'
Garfiel was laying low behind a tree watching everything that transpired. He was beyond shocked at what he just witnessed. Subaru on the other hand was tired and figured too sleep at the Sanctuary as it most likely is the safest place for him, perhaps within one of the secret area's that are within the area.
Subaru begin walking away too talk too one of the Ryuzu clones about the best place too sleep for not being spotted. He made his way too the place the original copy of Ryuzu was made and found a small girl with purple hair as a 'guard'.
"Need a place too sleep that's safe, and won't be found" Subaru stated
"If you don't cause any problems you may hide here" the girl responded
"Thanks" Subaru replied simply laying down on the hard floor exhausted, sad, and pissed.
Ryuzu Meyer the guard that was watching the crystal at the time way quite confused on how the boy simply laid down on the hard ground and passed out. Garfiel quickly reaching the place that Subaru went and seeing him sleeping was confused as well.
"This boy requested a safe place too sleep so I allowed him too sleep here" Ryuzu told Garfiel
Garfiel just gulped, "I was told that boy killed Reinhard tha swort saint and I watched Roswaal kill Emilia and then a giant spirit summoned... Subaru destroyed the giant spirit with a single attack and then killed Roswaal"
Ryuzu was not surprised, "Do you have anything against him?" she asked
Garifel didn't know, he didn't know the boy's reasons or his motivation, he said he was going to destroy the witch cult too Roswaal so Garfiel doubted he was a evil man, his eyes reminded himself of his own, eyes filled with regret and anger.
Garfiel sighed, "Na jus let tha man sleep"
Once again Subaru was brought too the shadow garden in his slumber.
"Ah it's this place again" Subaru said with a small smile not really knowing why
Satella glared at Subaru, almost in anger.
"Everything good?" Subaru asked noticing Satella's mood
Satella simply pouted, "Subaru, your pain is my pain, even if you can't show it I'm connected to your soul, I can feel your true feelings of anger, resentment and pain"
Subaru suprised and confused by the meaning of 'connected to your soul' decided to not ask further.
"Satella, I'm going too break this time loop once and for all, I don't care what I have too do or how many sins I must commit" Subaru stated
Satella thought for a moment, remembering when she thought something similar.
"So your prepared too take on the worlds hatred, even if you do save this world and end the Witch Cult, you will never be known nor recognized for your actions"
Subaru thought about the point she made for a moment, sure it's a pretty shit way too end things but there isn't any other route he can take.
"I think the reason for the previous failed loops was the inability I had too accept sacrifice" Subaru stated
"It's not in your character too accept it, that's why you still feel terrible whether you realize it or not. Your not meant too be a anti-hero..." Satella was intruppted
"I don't want too be any hero Satella, but as far as I'm concerned three thousand loops and not a single time have I succeeded. I'm willing to bet something happened that changed things in this loop and if I we're too give up on this chance I would probaly remain stuck in this time loop forever" Subaru stated
"What if I just brought you back to your first checkpoint? You would have everyone you lost back, and you would retain your powers and know your role" Satella offered
"I already thought of that, I refuse"
Satella looked shocked, she assumed he'd say yes too that proposal, "Why Subaru?"
"What's the point of sacrifice if I cheat the system and get around it. The whole flaw with return by death is that it allows me too cheat the world the balance itself and tip it in my favor too protect those I care about. It's selfish and is most likely the reason I never accomplished my task in any loop previous"
Satella frowned once again, she knew what he was thinking, "So what happens if you do defeat Pandora, the Witch Cult and any others that manipulate the balance of this world? Would you be willing too kill Crusch too achieve that goal?"
Subaru was a little shocked after hearing that.
'She must be watching me or something, creepy.'
"One life too save the entire world? Yes I would do it without a second thought" Subaru stated
Satella begin to cry, in her eyes this person was some weird morphed soul of Flugul.
"Your nothing like him" She remarked
"Like Flugul?"
Satella just stayed silent ignoring the question
"Your right I'm not, he failed and even if I am technically him, every version of him in the past has failed until now. I'm ready too end this cycle of torment"
Satella could tell Subaru was not going too change his mind, he was walking down the the path of becoming the next Witch of Envy. She knew that and couldn't stand the idea.
Finally she decided too ask one more thing, "You said your going too kill all the witches, I assume that includes me?"
"I'm not entirely sure what you are honestly, if I can remove the Envy factor from you then I'll spare you but if not then you will perish"
Satella questioned what he just said. Remove the Envy factor? How would he even be able too do that?
"Anyways I want too chat with Baphomet a bit, I think he needs to explain to me why my fucking abilities from a god damn dragon failed too counter Pandora's illusion"
Suddenly the garden was a void and the dragon spoke, "So your curious on your abilities correct?"
Subaru frowned, "Yes obviously"
"Well with Pandora you we're more so focused on the wrong thing, you never questioned Regulus being there and even thought that you could use it too your benefit. But if you weren't entirely focused on your wordplay with the illusion you probably would've seen through it"
"What the fuck kind of reason is that? So I have to just be constantly looking for illusions or something?"
"In regards to your abilities they will manifest themselves on there own, if you wish too have better eyes then create a ability for your eyes too see past illusions, the only limit too your ability is your comprehension for what it truly is"
"Ok that makes a bit more sense, one last question"
"What?"
"Satella seemed too think I was going to become like her, in the sense of being hated by all even if I do save this world... What do you think about her suspicion?"
"If you think this journey your taking will not involve sacrifice, and misfortune to not only you both those around you your deeply mistaken. You can run away in fear or face the obstacle and deal with the consequences afterwards"
Subaru nodded, his conviction was set.
He opened his eyes, not sure how he even had quality sleep considering he was sleeping on what felt like a concrete slab. He noticed one of the Ryuzu clones was guarding the room, as usual.
"Good morning, thank you for letting me stay here" Subaru said too the Ryuzu
Ryuzu skipped any formalities, "The entire Kingdom is in chaos, the Royal Selection was suspended and Miklotov McMahon was named the temporary king, with Reinhard and most of the other powerful knights dead, the Kingdom faces a war with The Sacred Vollachia Empire"
Subaru yawned, "Not really surprised but curious how you know that"
Ryuzu laughed, "This entire area was created by Echidna, knowledge is not something hard too find here"
Subaru smiled, "Can't believe I made someone probably centauries old laugh"
"Well regardless, the largest manhunt in recent history has been started too find and execute you, the bounty on your head is fifty-thousand holy coins"
Subaru laughed, "Honestly unless there hiding the fact I killed Reinhard, the literal most powerful person alive in the world, that number seems a tad bit small"
"Regardless the Kingdom will be invaded, no doubt for that"
Subaru thought about that, he may be able too prevent it from happening but honestly, he really didn't care too much.
"Alright I'm going too hit the road, thanks for letting me stay" Subaru said leaving too find Garfiel outside the building
"Honestly ya the craziest bandit to eva exist" Garfiel said with a bit of respect hinted in his tone
Subaru just nodded at Garfiel before taking his Ground Dragon and heading for the Plaides Watch Tower.
Meanwhile in the Capital of Lugina...
Chaos in the Capital continued as many disliked Miklotov power grab too be the "temporary king" until order was established. Many feared that they we're all doomed after Reinhard, and many other elite knights died. Roswaal the most powerful Mage was yet to be found dead, nor Emilia. Every Royal candidate except for Priscilla lost there knight. Out of the four former-candidates, Crusch was devastated the most.
Crusch was in her manner with Wilhelm, Wilhelm could tell she was hurt by something and not something as simple as Felix being murdered.
"Miss Crusch I can tell something is wrong, if you want too talk about it I'd be happy too help you in any way I can" Wilhelm told Crusch with a gentle tone.
Crusch thought of the proposal for a moment, but honestly she didn't think anyone in the Kingdom would think she was sane if she said what she felt out loud. She was deeply saddened by Felix dying but didn't blame Subaru, she almost felt bad for him. He wasn't doing anything he did too harm, she knew he would never kill Reinhard on purpose, she knew Subaru was a good man with a burden nobody including herself could understand.
She decided too indirectly engage Wilhelm in a mind game of sorts.
"Wilhelm may I ask you a question a hypothetical question"
"Yes of course Lady Crusch"
"Suppose this took place when you were younger and you were put in a situation where the world thought the women you loved was a traitor, when you and only you knew the truth and that the women you loved had a burden not even you could comprehend, what would you do?"
Wilhelm a little taken back at the question thought for a moment, "If that was the case I would remain loyal too her until the end... But why ask such a question?"
Crusch knew Wilhelm wouldn't tell others what she was about too say considering there history and Wilhelm's personality.
She gulped and replied, "That's sort of the Situation with Subaru"
Wilhelm looked confused, not knowing they even had much a relationship at all. In the past he didn't see much from Subaru other then a man who's suffered hell, he wondered too himself how many burden's a boy of his age could handle.
"Crusch I won't judge you nor will I argue with what you believe. Your one of the smartest people I know and I doubt you wouldn't feel this way for no reason... Assuming your right I can only wonder what that boy must be dealing with" Wilhelm said
"Wait what do you mean?"
"When I first met the boy, his eyes we're the eyes of someone who has been in the face of death countless times, when I heard of the news regarding the Royal Selection and him joining Felt's Camp after Emilia removing him from her camp I feared the worst... But he recovered and somehow and quickly his entire life got ripped away from him. He's the most wanted man in the entire Kingdom"
Crusch begin to shed tears, trying too connect the dots of what was going on with Subaru, the Sage ordeal, the Pandora incident, she remembered his threat too Pandora that if Pandora killed her, he would destroy everything. He said it in a way of absolute certainty and judging on how Pandora hasn't tried anything at least not yet too her, he may have the power too do that.
Crusch wanted too be beside Subaru, but she knew that wasn't going too happen, she knew that odds are Subaru will die masked as villain carrying the entire worlds sin to his grave with him. She didn't understand, why? Why would a boy summoned here have too take on a burden of this degree?
Crusch wanted too see Subaru again, but she had no idea where or how that would ever even happen. The Royal Selection was suspended and most likely may not even transpire anymore, the Kingdom may fall and be ruled by The Sacred Vollachia Empire.
"Miss Crusch?" Wilhelm asked after waiting minutes for a response from the young maiden.
"I just can't stand it, I pity my intelligence sometimes. I want too think that I will be able too see him again, that things could just return too normal... The entire time I was with him he rarely showed weakness, I fear what he may become if he continues too shoulder whatever burden he has alone"
Wilhelm didn't know what too say, assuming she was right about everything transpiring, Subaru would need too be inhuman too not go mad. A boy summoned too this world, he probably thinks he's in some hell afterlife. Wilhelm continued too think of a response before Lady Crusch simply returned too her room. Wilhelm was one of the last knights alive that was considered on par with Julius, and the other powerful knights within the Kingdom. But even so if or more so when The Empire of Vollachia declares war... Lugina has no way too win in the current circumstances.
Subaru was making his way too the Tower attempting too increase his visual prowess. He started by trying to focus energy within his eyes which allowed him too see farther and clearer, he then tried too circulate the energy too form a rhythm of aura and was able too see colors he never saw before. He remembered that some colors are invisible too the human eye but certain animals can see them. As his dragon raced on towards the Plaides Watch Tower he was confronted by a Witch Cultist.
Subaru stopped his carriage not in the mood, he used his visual prowess to insure this wasn't some sort of trap and concluded it wasn't.
"I am the Sin archbishop representing Sloth-" before he could even finish his sentence his head was decapitated. Subaru also could sense a spirit was within that corpse and used the power he made too destroy spirits too kill the cultist for good.
"Your blood shall flow like the others of your kind" he remarked leaving the body.
He continued with his ground dragon, making his way too the Plaides Watch Tower, he instantly could sense the Divine Dragon, a women named Shaula connected too Flugul, Od Luguna somehow either located here or a portal too it exists here and finally, Satella's seal is also here.
As he made his way too the entrance, he noticed many references too Japanese culture, proof that Flugul made it almost as a place for those brought too this world.
"Master?" Shaula yelled
'I am not proud of what I'm about too do, but I know she'll only get in the way if I don't'
As Shaula came in for a hug Subaru gave a gentle smile extending his arms back but then penetrating Shaula's heart, killing her.
"Why master?" Was the last words she was able to mutter.
"I am not your master, nor do I have time to waste" Subaru responded too the corpse.
He made his way up the stairs, their were many 'trials' he seemed too have too go through too enter but he simply destroyed them and finally made it too, a large library.
"So these are the Books of the Dead, how intresting" Subaru commented.
He made his way too the book he was looking for, 'Reid Astrea'
He skimmed through most of the book, looking for the name of the dragon who gave him his power until he found a single passage.
"After entering that cave Reid felt fear he never felt in his life, the power radiating from the beast contained within was enough power too destroy the world easily. He was a man prideful, but today he was a man running for his life at the beast before he heard him say one thing, 'Soon the Dragon of Annihilation , Baphomet will destroy all'"
Subaru was a bit displeased with his journey, he found absolutely nothing of worth here, well he at least could kill the Divine Dragon.
Subaru made his way too the top too see a sleeping giant blue scaled Dragon. Subaru unleashed some of his aura instantly waking the Dragon up, he wasn't going to slay a dragon that was asleep.
"Who are you boy?" The dragon asked
"I'd like too ask you the same question Volcanica" Subaru muttered
"Oh your him, the one attempting too break the balance of this world, but I can't remember your name for some reason. Before I end your life tell me one thing, what is your name?" The dragon said getting up ready too kill the boy in front of him
Subaru couldn't handle it anymore, he had a feeling this 'Divine Protector' was involved but he still wasn't know how.
Before Volcanica could even react the entire right section of his body was ripped off. Subaru ripped half of a dragon's body off from it's flesh with his bare hands. Volcanica was not dead but on the verge of death.
"I forgotten him" Subaru responded to the question asked by the dragon earlier
Subaru formed a sphere of annihilation and killed the dragon. He heard a voice in his head.
"Drink the dragon's blood"
The voice sounded like Baphomet's, Subaru thought
He was hesitant at first but then decided too follow what the dragon told him, he begin drinking the blood of the dead Volcanica. He felt his entire body change, his muscles begin to reform as his entire body begin changing in composition. He now had a much more musclar physique, not one that he would compare too a body builder or something, more like a fighter, like Connor McGregor or something. He also noticed his hair grew out a lot. And the style changed to a more spikey and rigid form.
"Well that was something" Subaru said before testing his new power, he leaped down from the top of the tower all the way down and landed fine, without even using any power or magic. His body has become much more stronger. From all the anime he watched he knew if one's base isn't strong it will weaken any power used to enhance it.
Subaru was ready for the long journey too the Vollachia Empire. He whistled for his ground dragon and brought some blood in a water bottle he had, wondering what may happen if this ground dragon drank it. He put the blood of the slayed dragon in his hands and offered it too the ground dragon. After drinking the blood the small red ground dragon grew four times it's size and formed wings capable of flight.
"I think I should name you something by name" he said too the new large red dragon.
"Ddraig, fuck it why not your new name is Ddraig" Subaru said
Ddraig simply wagged his giant tail hearing the name and Subaru hopped on the much larger more capable new ally he had. Since the dragon could now fly he could get too the Vollachia Empire too meet this 'Vincent' character much faster.
As he set off on his journey another conversation was being discussed in said Empire.
"Why shouldn't we take this opportunity? Lugina is the weakest it's ever been in history?" One of the generals argued.
Vincent Vollachia simply smiled, "The boy who brought the Kingdom of Lugina too it's knees Subaru Natsuki, however I don't think we have the true story for what is transpiring. We shall wait for his arrival before we move forward with any military actions"
The nine divine generals questioned what he meant, "Do you think he's coming here?"
The King simply smiled once more, "Yes no doubt, and I wish too discuss many things with him before we move with any military action"
"But what makes you so certain?" one of the generals asked
"This world, is changing and I want too see if my theory is correct. No further objections" The king ordered to the generals as they left his chambers
Vincent thought too himself,
'I'm one of the few that know the existence of the observers, the true reality of this false world. I wonder if this boy knows and is attempting too destroy the current order. If he really did kill Reinhard, he may have the power too do it'
Vincent drank some tea pondering the multiple theories in his mind. All he could conclude was this boy was far from normal, so much so that he would be more actually considered a unnatural existence. Whatever power this boy had would change the world as all knew it.
