Russell Fellow learned of the Sage Counsils plan and supported it. It made the most sense to him to fix the issue of lacking a KIng and bringing Reinhard back to the Kingdom. After discussing with the Sage Council, they planned a Royal Selection candidate meeting regarding shortening the Election.

Russell planned to poison the food with a poison that takes around four days to affect the individual. The poison also replicated how a curse functions, leading to the majority of the public thinking that a foreign nation killed the Royal family and then killed all the Royal Selection candidates. Russell knew that in times of chaos, unity is required. Even if unity is manufactured, morality has to be disregarded to protect a nation. He was only wary of Roswaal as he was the strongest person in the Kingdom then. Russell knew it was a gamble, but he suspected Roswaal had lost interest in the Royal Selection or his duty in sponsoring Emilia, so he was confident in his plan.

The event was planned for three days, and any candidate who did not arrive would be disqualified to ensure everyone would be there. Once the four candidates die and Felt is the only remaining candidate, Russell will reveal the evidence that Felt is directly related to the Royal family, thus solving the issue of lacking a leader and Reinhard's disappearance.

Subaru woke up as Felt, Rom, and Reinhard were already awake. He was ready to introduce himself to the people he's known since he first arrived. Subaru got off the ground as, at this point, he felt more familiar with sleeping on hard surfaces than sleeping on a bed. However, he was surprised to see a wolf-like man he could assume to be Halibel.

"So your Bahamut, right?"

Subaru nods.

"Yes, I am. It's good to meet you. Reinhard has said a lot about you."

Halibel laughs.

"I take it that they were good things?"

Subaru nodded.

"Well, I came here because of another person coming to Kararagi. But what I saw, I don't know if it was real."

Subaru was surprised that this man could track him when he was so high in the sky. However, if he was able to track Reinhard, it's not too hard to note that he could track him. Subaru quickly realized that Halibel saw him with dragon wings flying around Kararagi.

Subaru sprouts his red dragon wings from his back.
"Yes, it was real. I am a dragon. It's good to meet you."

Felt, Rom and even Reinhard were dumbfounded at what they had just witnessed. However, Halibel seems not to be phased by anything. As long as it is not a threat, he is not surprised if someone is a dragon or sword saint. He had many questions but could tell neither Reinhard nor Bahamut had any ill intent for the nation. He waved and left after confirming that the flying man with dragon wings did not threaten Kararagi.

Subaru sighed, "Alright, so I'll fly. You guys take the carriage, and I'll be the observer from the sky, and you guys are the ground support."

Reinhard smirked

"My dragon carriage can fly."

Subaru eye's widened.

"What?"

Felt spoke up.

"Ya, it can fly, invisible and super fast."

Subaru thought this would be an excellent way to see if they could see the invisible carriage to prepare for the fight against Pandora. He wasn't sure if he could absorb her authority if she weren't actually there. He also asked Reinhard if he had a way for them to communicate telepathically, which he did so the two could talk without others hearing.

Subaru agreed, and on the journey, he could see the invisible carriage confirming that his vision would probably be able to see illusions if that was Pandora's ability. Subaru flew a bit higher so he could have private conservation with Ddraig.

"Alright, Ddraig, we know poison and murder from the people in charge of the Kingdom, and Reinhard leaving is against the laws and bad for the Kingdom… what do you think is going on?"

"I'm not sure. However, assuming politics work the same as it did in my world, it most likely is attempting to sabotage another opponent. But if the Sage Council is not in charge, they might be trying to kill the candidates to take over the Kingdom."

Subaru considered Ddraig's logic, and it did make sense. However, he doubted that Roswaal would let Emilia die as it would potentially ruin his plan. But he also did not like the idea of putting his faith in Roswaal to protect Emilia.

Subaru focused on Reinhard to use telepathic communication.
'Reinhard, is this working?'

'Yes, it is.'

'Change of plans. Ddraig thinks this might be a coup, and it makes sense to me so that we will be heading to the Margrave mansion.'

'Why there?'

'Roswaal is under my command right now. So it's the safest location to go.'

'Alright.'

After about a day of traveling, they arrived at the Margrave mansion. Subaru had to move slower as Reinhard's flying dragon carriage wasn't as fast as him. When they arrived, Roswaal was happy to see the man that was the key to obtaining his goal. He was surprised to see the missing Sword Saint, Rom, and Felt. They all went inside and had a private discussion as Subaru told Roswaal he'd prefer a private one.

After Roswaal learned of the information he now learned, the name Bahamut told him he had already figured out who and what the plot was about. The idea that Subaru told Roswaal, Roswaal found to be unlikely. He figured the more likely situation was that they planned to kill all the candidates except Felt to force Reinhard to return. He knew Russell well, and this was a plan he'd do. He was friends with Russell, but his goal was far more important than friendship.

Reinhard, Felt, Rom, Subaru/Bahamut, and Roswaal were discussing around a table.

Subaru turned to Roswaal in confirmation.

"So you think they plan to kill every candidate? Make Felt King to make Reinhard return?"

Roswaal grinned.

"Yesss~ that's the most likely situation to happennn~. I was informed about an event that'll take place in two days that all the Royal Selection candidates are required to go toooo~."

Reinhard hated to admit it, but he was hearing what the Kingdom of Lugnica would do. He was a weapon for them for so long that he knew they didn't care about sacrificing, even if it meant defying the dragon they were protected by.

Reinhard suggested, "So shouldn't we go and stop them now?"

Roswaal grin grew more prominent, "Nooo~ we wait until the moment before it happens. Then all the candidates will see that the Kingdommm ~ almost killed them."

Reinhard was against this idea, but Subaru was not. He understood that to replace the current Sage Council and their power, an event that exposed them for attempting to kill all the candidates for the thrown would be enough to do it. If they acted now, the evidence wouldn't be present, and the effect would be far less.

"Roswaal, do you have an excuse to tell Emilia and the others why Reinhard is here and ensure they don't talk about it?"

"Yesss~ I do. Doooo~ not worry."

"Alright. I'll sleep on the roof. Once this matter is resolved, we can go to the tower Roswaal."

Roswaal grinned as the moment he's been waiting for so long approached.

While Roswaal explains to the Emilia camp a story that forces them into not saying anything while keeping the tension low, Reinhard, Felt, and Rom all get guest rooms to stay in. Subaru was on the roof gazing at the moon and the stars in the sky. His vision began to get hazy, and he fell asleep.

"Ok, I remember more."

Subaru, before he could open his eyes, heard Satella's voice with an excited tone. He walked towards Satella. Her face was glowing, and she had a warm smile. Subaru didn't know how to feel about that. He sat beside her on the bench and was ready for more information.

Satella leaned in, staring at Subaru's eyes. She loved the emerald color.

"So I remember the sealed door you were talking about."

Subaru's eyes widened. This was something he wanted to learn.

"So what is it?"

Satella's smile slowly faded as she began to explain.

"Subaru, so… Emilia is my younger sister. Before the calamity started, I used my authority of Envy to create a way to send Emilia into the future. Reid sensed something was coming, and Flugul helped create the mechanism that worked with my authority. She was sent into the future and arrived in Elior Forest."

Satella's eyes began to tear up as she continued.

"Our mother was the previous holder of the Envy factor, which got passed down to me. The way the door was designed to be opened was either by Emilia or me."

Subaru tried to understand and slowly grasped what Satella was explaining.

"Satella, why does Pandora want to open it?"

"Flugul said that if the seal was ever opened in the future, two things could happen. One is that the mechanism would no longer function, assuming I died by then, and the second would be the world's destruction. Flugul explained how it worked better, but that's all I remember… thank you for helping my little sister Subaru. She deserves a person like you."

Subaru's emotionless tone came back at the notion Satella was implying.

"Why suggest something that won't happen? She'd feel terrible for something she didn't do if she remembered me. I'm sure you already know my reasoning for this. I don't love her anymore. I will protect and care for her, but she's more like a sibling that forgot me, and I try to help her when I can. Once I kill the dragon, the forest will be reborn, and Emilia will meet someone she can start a family with."

Satella still didn't know what Subaru planned to do with his future.

"So you'll rebuild the world, kill the witch cult, and save the forest… then what?"

"Try to figure out a way to kill the source of whatever made you into the Witch of Envy."

Satella moved closer to Subaru, placing her hand on Subaru's face.

"Subaru, I'm sorry for comparing you to Flugul."

"Why?"

Satella spoke in a shallow broken voice.

"Remember how I said Reid was the only person who stopped me? The legend of the Sage, the dragon, and the sword saint isn't true. The dragon did help Reid, but mana couldn't harm me… and Flugul… used me. He didn't do anything to stop me and used his title to become… he just tricked everyone and created a seal that didn't even do anything. The whole time I suffered, battling for control, he would… 'test' me. Trying to see if he could make me lose cont-rol."

Subaru put his arms around Satella. The story he was hearing was sickening to him.

"Subaru, you are… you did everything for me even if you didn't mean to. All have forgotten you and still care about Emilia, everyone, even those who tortured you. I'm selfish, but I can't help it. I want to be with you, but you can't love me."
Subaru started to process what Satella had just said. Emilia was her sister, sent into the future, and Flugul abused her. Reid seemed like the only nice person. Subaru thought about Satella and what her life must've been like. After all, is that not to be able to die? Subaru debated whether killing them both was the better option once this was over or maybe something else.

Ddraig said, "Satella, did Flugul die before Reid?"

"No… Reid died before Flugul did."

"Partner, the sword that is Reid's soul…."

"Satella, there's a sword with Reid's soul in it. Ddaig knows how it works, but would Flugul do that?"

Satella's body tensed. She knew that Flugul was always jealous of Reid, but turning him into a sword… is something he would've done. Satella only nodded in confirmation after she processed what she was just told. The only person that stopped her rampage was Reid. Flugul turned him into a sword.

Subaru could sense the thoughts Satella was having and felt like there was even more to this story.

"Satella, I promise you I will seek justice for you. I'll do whatever I can."

"Subaru, I don't want justice… I just want some time with someone I love. Even if it was just for a day. I understand why you can't be with my sister but… I'm sorry, never mind."

The vision disappeared, and Subaru saw the bright sky. He didn't know how he felt. He didn't know if he was capable of love. He didn't know if he even wanted it. He had a goal and wanted to complete it.

Subaru walked into the mansion, and he saw Ram talking to nobody. Was she talking to herself?

"Emilia-sama please…"

"Ddraig, nothing is there, right?"

"Partner, go."

Subaru activated a balance breaker and flew right through the mansion's many ceilings until he reached the top and went at full speed to Elior Forest. He knew what was happening, but the question was, why now?

When he arrived, he saw Emilia talking to two people that didn't exist. She was talking about opening the seal.

"Subaru, why do you want me to open it?"

What? She's talking to nobody and said my name… did Pandora somehow manipulate her memories to remember me?

"Really? That's sooo weird. I get a feeling not to open it. Are you sure it'll reverse the curse that froze the elves?"

Subaru watched in both disgust and rage. Pandora wants to destroy the world and do it in such a way.

"Partner focus."

"What do I do?"

"Grab her. I sense authority within this area. Now is your chance."

Subaru flew towards Emilia and grabbed her within three seconds. He took her to Reinhard, told him not to let her leave, and returned to the forest. He tried to sense authority but couldn't anymore.

Reinhard was staring at Emilia with a concerned look. She was talking to nobody and said the name Subaru.

"Subaru, let's go back to the forest."

Reinhard and Roswaal were the only two witnessing this. Emilia was speaking to nothing and talking about things that never happened. Neither Reinhard nor Roswaal knew how to undo the effects of whatever happened.

After five minutes of trying to find Pandora, Subaru couldn't pick up on anything. It's like she appeared for a brief instant, then disappeared. Subaru didn't understand why she wanted to destroy the world. What was the point? It just seemed so empty. Destroy the world, then what?

"Partner, she wants to open that seal, right?"

"Yes."

"We could destroy it, but the blast… would destroy the forest. If Satella and Emilia are the only two who can open it, then restricting Emilia's movements is the best option."

Subaru agreed and, within an instant, was back in the mansion. He approached Emilia talking to nobody and walking into the wall. He watched her fall over and then move her legs like she was walking.

"Roswaal, do you know any magic that can fix this?"

Roswaal thought about yang magic, but the effects of authority would prevent magic from being effective. His only idea was to use a soul-binding spell that would act as a way to prevent her from opening the seal. However, she must say the words to agree to the soul-binding contract.

"Subaru, thank you sooo much. I can't believe we won the Royal Selection!"

Reinhard noticing Subaru's facial expression, walked towards Emilia, who was now injuring herself with her movements. Her arms kept slamming into the floor, and her legs were moving in ways that would tear ligaments. He used divine protection to drain almost all her mana she passed out.

Subaru thought of a plan. Reinhard would deal with the assassination attempt that would happen in one day. Roswaal would travel with him to kill the dragon, which should be working to heal the effects of the authority. Then use magic or kill Pandora before she can alter her memories again or try to find another way to unseal the time door. But who would watch Emilia? He could travel to Karagi and back reasonably quickly and leave Emilia with Halbiel, which is enough distance that Pandora couldn't do anything. He was confident her authority was illusion based.

"Reinhard, you'll deal with the assassination plot tomorrow without the Kingdom. I will take Emilia to Karagi and leave her with Halibel. The distance from the seal is enough to avoid Pandora attempting anything. Roswaal, you will go with me to kill the dragon, and the blood should be able to fix Emilia's state and the forest."

Roswaal agreed the moment Subaru finished his sentence. Reinhard did shortly after. Subaru activated the balance breaker again, traveling at full speed toward Kararagi. He traveled the distance in around five minutes watching Emilia break her limbs in her arms, making movements that he could only surmise that she saw an entirely different reality. But things she said were… painful to listen to.

"Subaru, let's get married. I love you."

"Subaru, thank you so much for the ring. Our wedding will be amazing."

"Subaru, that suit looks sooooo good on you."

"Subaru, it's alright. We all make mistakes."

Her tone was so kind and loving. Over and over, she kept saying his name. The name wanted to forget. Pandora was playing a dirty game, and he would make her suffer. She will learn the power of the Heavenly Dragon. She will die.

Halibel was currently in a small home smoking the herbs that keep him alive. He heard a loud noise and walked outside to see Subaru, who disengaged his balance breaker, holding a girl saying words and moving erratically.

"Subaru, I'm pregnant! I hope it's a boy so we can raise a little Natsuki into a knight!"

Subaru stared at Halibel with a face of both rage and sorrow.

"Halibel Pandora is trying to end the world, and Emilia is the key. She is stuck in some false reality, and her memories of my existence have returned. Can you please look after her?"

Halibel listened to the dead, emotionless tone of Subaru. He placed a curse on Emilia that drained her mana before removing it. She was now unconscious.

Halibel sensed the rage and malice within Subaru but knew it was directed toward Pandora. He could imagine how this would affect Subaru, but he would fulfill his request to the fullest of his abilities.

"Yes, I can. I will watch over her. Do you have information about Pandora?"

"She's a witch. She uses illusions and can alter memories; I'm unsure about the limitations or requirements for using them. I brought her here because the distance between the seal Pandora wants her to open is so far that it would take time to get Emilia back to the forest. I'm not sure if her authority can affect you. I'm sorry to request this so suddenly."

Halibel nodded in confirmation and took Emilia into a room while forming a strategy in case Pandora did come to Kararagi. Once he returned to say goodbye to Subaru, he was gone.

Subaru, while traveling back, had a brief conversation with Ddraig.

"Partner, now three or more people remember you. Is there a point of you remaining forgotten? I'm sure there's a way to restore the world's memories of you."

"I have one purpose. It's not to be remembered or forgotten. I don't care either way. I want to murder every last member of that fucking Cult. I want to rip Pandora's light her limbs on fire, slowly rip them off, reincarnate her, and do it all over again. I hate her so much it makes me smile… she will die, and I will eradicate anything left of her existence from this world."

When he arrived at the mansion, he directed Reinhard on the plan and what to do when the assassination plot began. He advised him to detain the Sage Council members; later, they would remove all the corrupt people from the Kingdom. He then left with Roswaal to kill the dragon and gluttony.

If anyone can guess who will kill Pandora, I will be amazed.

So now we got two things going on one being the Sage Council plan to kill the candidates and Reinhard's uprising to the Kingdom and we got Roswaal and Subaru going to kill the dragon.

Who would've known Ros and Subaru becoming a team

And of course, the mystery of who will kill Pandora. This gon be the highest brainpower shit I've written.
