Quinn Fabray stood there, her emerald eyes slimming upon looking at all the Cheerios before her. She scanned the group, all of the girls standing up straight and holding their breath to hear what their captain would say next.
"Santana. Berry. You both take the lead on this one." Quinn said, turning around to sit at the desk. She began to scribble things down, getting ready to kick girls off the squad at any second.
Rachel and Santana took a step foward, the latter half of the pair shooting daggers at the other. "Just remember to get your big nose out of my mouth. This isn't the Rachel Berry show."
Rachel smiled at her, her smile dropping once Santana looked the other way.
Quinn blew the whistle wrapped around her neck. "Okay girls, five, six, seven, eight!"
(All the Cheerios get in position as the music starts. The girls do a routine behind Rachel and Santana. Santana sings, comfortable with the number and obviously done it a thousand times. Rachel is confident, but her smile drops in some places to keep up with the girls)
Four letter word just to get me along
It's a difficulty and I'm biting' on my tongue
And I, I keep stalling' and keeping' it together
People around gotta find something' to say now
Holdin' back everyday the same
Don't wanna be a loner
Listen to me, oh no
I never say anything at all
But with nothing' to consider they forget my name
(Rachel and Santana)
They call me hell
They call me Stacey
They call me Her
They call me Jane
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
They call me quiet
But I'm a riot
Mary-Jo-Lisa
Always the same
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
The music abruptly stopped as Quinn squinted her eyes. All the girls became frozen. Coach Sylvester had been mysteriously absent for the first week of school, so Quinn had the squad all to herself to manager. She loved every second of it, especially making the freshmen tremble.
"Those were good girls, but we could be better. Earlier practice tomorrow at 2:45. Lastly, there has to be a base on the pyramid." Quinn said, putting her hands on her hips.
All the girls scurried off, Quinn watching them go. "That was good, Man Hands,," Quinn said, as nice as possible. Her tone shifted when addressing her so-called friend, Santana. "Santana, you need to focus more when performing. There are other Cheerios besides Brittany."
Santana's jaw became clenched, as well as her fist. She knew she loved Brittany but Quinn always made it bigger than it was. Quinn knew it got under Santana's skin. She knew it made her blood boil and work harder, but when were the buttons pushed too hard?
The one thing Santana always liked about Cheerios was that it was Rachel Berry free-now it was another Rachel Berry praise place. She needed a change up. She needed to leave.
Santana walked into the girls locker room, grabbing her water bottle and sitting on the bench.
"Are you okay? You look flat." Brittany said, taking her red towel and placing it on her shoulders.
Santana put down the water, moving to the edge of the bench. She looked up at Brittany, her eyes becoming big and puppy dog-like. "I need to quit Cheerios."
Brittany sat down next to Santana, her look becoming soft. "What? Why?"
Santana looked down, her eyes finding comfort within the tile floor. "I'm sick of being back up to Rachel Berry and Little Miss Perfect."
"But we're the Unholy Trinity." Brittany said, her mind not fully comprehending what Santana was saying.
Santana stood up. "Not anymore. I'm out of here." She gives Brittany a look, holding out her hand. "Will you join me?"
Brittany wrapped her pinkie with Santana's. "Maybe. I don't want to leave my team behind."
Santana looked at the pinkies intertwined. She thought about the best of her team. But sometimes you can't think about others. When push comes to shove, you are the only one looking out for you.
"Let's talk about Breadsticks."
Finn waited at Puck's locker, watching everyone walk by. He'd be lying if he said he didn't miss Rachel. In all honesty, Rachel was the only thing he knew about his future.
The future seemed so scary to him. After one year, he was going to be thrown to the world, thrown to the vultures called life, and he was just supposed to know what to do. But he doesn't. He's not sure he ever will.
That's something he loved about Rachel. She knew what to do and where she was going. And even if Finn didn't he felt safe and comfortable in the fact that she did and that she could help him through the scary time.
Now that's all gone. Now he's alone and he has no one to guide him. He's back to a child being thrown to the wolves.
"Dude, are you even listening to me?" Puck asked, punching Finn hard in the arm.
The one punch snapped Finn out of his state of deep thought, rubbing the black and blue no forming. "What the hell man? What?"
"Dude, we are pathetic. When was the last time we were with chicks?" Puck asked, noticing a girl with rather tight jeans on walk past him.
Finn shrugged, leaning his head on the lockers. "I don't know man."
"We used to be chick magnets. Now, we're like the creepy guy hanging outside 7/11 buying kids beer. We need to up our game." Puck said, closing his bottom locker, standing up. "We need to pick targets and go for them. Just bangable chicks."
"I just broke up with Rachel." Finn said, twisting his body to face his friend.
"I said bangable, not dateable. Trust me. There's a chick that's hot but I wouldn't hump and dump for the life of me." Puck glanced down the hallway at Kitty Wilde, who stood on her tiptoes to reach the top of her locker.
"Nah, I'm not gonna have sex with a girl just because. I did that once with Santana and-"
Puck smirked. "It was good, right?"
Finn thought for a moment, remembering the time. "Well, yeah. She was good. But I felt nothing after it. I didn't feel good about myself or anything." Finn tugged at the single backpack strap on his shoulder, his body Beijing becoming tense and anxious thinking about not only the moment, but the future again. He tried to block it out of his mind, but it kept coming back and haunting him time and time again.
"We are studs. Do you want to remember your senior year as the year you were so pent up and didn't sleep with anyone or have a girl? I didn't think so." Puck said looking at all the girls, or rather possible options for him.
Finn shrugged. "I guess not." He looked down the hall, spotting a girl with long black hair. He had never seen someone who looked so put together, who looked like they dressed for the future and tomorrow. Her smile was big and wide, lighting up the hallway ever so much brighter.
He didn't want to 'dump and hump' like Puck said. He wanted to feel normal again, he wanted to feel safe.
And he might've found a girl who could make him feel like that.
Santana and Brittany sat at Breadstix, Italian music flowing through the air. Santana hadn't said much during the dinner, mostly moving her pasta around with her fork. She kept her head down, but something was urging her to look up .To look Brittany in the eyes and let it go let the words she wished she could've said years fly out.
But instead all she managed to croak out was "Can we talk about that thing we aren't supposed to talk about?"
Brittany, unlike Santana, thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp, making sure each one had a "blanket of love" before it was eaten. "What, that Sour Patch Kids are just gummy bears that turned to drugs?" She asked, her tone becoming serious and low.
Santana ignored the question by her friend, her heart racing before the words slipped out of her mouth. "Are we dating?"
Brittany tilted her head slightly, rubbing her cocktail sauce covered fingers on the napkin. "Is this not a date? Aren't you paying-I ordered shrimp." She said, gesturing to her plate infront of her. "Wasn't last week when we took a bath together a date?"
Santana looked down for a moment, processing all of Brittany's words. Her breath slowed down, her body almost at peace with her mind. All the emotions she's been feeling for years about Brittany, all the times she pushed them away because her Abulea told her not to think of girls like that. All the moments she lied to guys saying she wanted to be with them. It all came back at her, flooding her mind, resulting in a single tear.
"Are you crying?" Brittany asked, leaning foward ready to comfort Santana.
Santana shook her head, until it hit her: She WAS crying. But out of joy. She never felt joy like this. "I'm just happy."
Brittany smiled, taking her clean hand and taking Santana's. "Well I told you, if I was single, and you were single, we would mingle. At school, Cheerios, Glee Club-"
Santana looked down at the uniform that haunted her. She like being known, she even liked the thrill of performing. But the Cheerio title had been a burden on her, burning her flesh as she knew it. Cheerios was always an escape from the nonsense of Rachel Berry, and a time where she finally held the crown. But now Rachel had introduced their practices, and had taken over, even Quinn had started to warm up to Rachel.
Santana couldn't even escape to Glee Club since they are SALIVATING over the freshmen girl who took over the club. So Santana was stuck.
"About that, I don't know if I wanna be a Cheerio anymore." She admitted, her first becoming tighter in an attempt to break the news to Brittany. "Or in Glee Club. I'm a s
Brittany left her mouth slightly agape. "What? Then what would you do?"
"I want to join that new show choir." Santana said, swinging her ponytail side to side like a metronome. She looked at the vacant stare on the blonde's face. "I'm sick of being back up to Berry and Berry Part Two. I wanna shine and be seen as the star that I am."
Her heart began to pound again upon seeing Brittany's slight nod and frown. "But I won't do it without you."
Brittany looked down and to the side, taking in Santana's words. Unlike Santana, she didn't put much thought into the words that came out of her mouth, instead saying the first thing that came to mind. "I don't wanna be known as a quitter. They're my team."
Santana pulled her hand away, placing it under her plate.
"Just give me a day to think about it, okay?" Brittany asked, smiling to ease the tension.
Santana nodded, hiding her hurt feelings. "Yeah, yeah, of course. Totally, I understand, just think about it." Santana folded her hands on the table, trying to get Brittany to not to be upset. "But in the meantime, we can mingle here." She said, placing her hand out to the front of the table.
Brittany smiled, taking it once again.
Santana looked up, spotting Finn Hudson walk in with a black haired girl. Panic overcame her, placing a napkin over the girl's hands. "Under the napkin."
Finn wasn't too keen on the 'humping and dumping' idea, for two reasons. One, he felt as though girls were worth more than that, and two: he wasn't very good at flirting with girls. He just let things happen.
That's how he got the date with Harmony. He just let it happen. By walking up to her and talking to her, he found out that she was a music lover and used to attend Jacksonville High School. He also found out that she thought he was cute.
And that he liked her laugh and smile.
While he wasn't sure if he should "hump and dump", he did know to take her out on a date and at least enjoy her company. See where it leads from there.
"I can't believe you're in Glee Club! Glee club was always for overachiever theater kids in my old school." Harmony said, clasping her hands together.
Finn laughed a little. "Yeah, Glee Club isn't cool or anything...actually I kinda get picked on by my teammates for it. Calling me a homo and stuff."
Harmony sat back a little, trying to figure Finn out. Finn took notice of this, shaking his head. "I'm not. I like boobs. Girl's boobs. Like your boobs are really good-" He stopped realizing the hole that he seemed to be digging himself in. He began to try to dig himself out, only to be cut off by Harmony.
Harmony looked down at herself, and then looked back up at the teenage boy. "Thanks. Nobody has ever called boobs really great, so you are ahead of the other guys I went on a date with."
Finn looked down, smiling a little bit. If she was Rachel, then she'd be scolding him for thinking such a thing. But instead, she laughed it off, and gave Finn a nice smile, calming the nerves. "What would the other guys say?"
Harmony thought for a moment. "Well, not that. But those dates were so boring that I can't remember them. This one is at least memorable. You'd be pretty hard to forget." She said, taking a sip of water.
"Thanks. You are too." Finn raised his glass up to hers. "Let's make tonight hard to forget."
Puck had full intention to hump and dump a girl tonight. He had everything set up, a girl, his bed ready...that's all he actually needed to set up. But his plans fell down the drain when Kitty approached him, asking him if he wanted to babysit Beth with her.
He thought that it was because of Beth, which of course it was. He loved spending time with his daughter and being a part of her life, like his dad wasn't.
But whenever he was there, and Beth had been sleeping or playing solo with blocks, he tended to gravitate towards Kitty, and liked the time he spent with her. He liked the feeling of being next to her and talking to her, even if it was about mundane things. He had only left like this before with one other person, the person who birthed his baby.
Maybe it was the association with Beth-that's what his mind kept chirping at him. It was just the fact she brought him to Beth and they hung out exclusively when babysitting. But he couldn't help notice that he stared at her in school, and that she was his ideal type: Blonde, feisty and athletic.
Kitty stood at the height chair, trying to get a screaming Beth to relax and calm down. "Puckerman, do you mind actually helping? You are here to see your daughter right?"
Puck shook his head, blinking him out of his fantasy. He walked over to the girls, picking up a crying Beth, bouncing her. "You always play her that boring violin music. Just sing to her."
Kitty crossed her arms. "I don't sing besides the shower."
"I'd like to hear from you." He said, grabbing his guitar.
Kitty placed her hand on the counter, a smile creeping up. "Are you trying to see me in the shower?" She asked playfully.
Puck's face went ghost white. He's heard raunchier stuff said to him, but for some reason it was different coming from her. He turned to face Beth, plucking the guitar strings. "You know, you should join Glee Club. We need more girls like you."
Kitty tilted her head. "Girls like me?" She asked, however Puck ignored her, beginning to sing a soft song to Beth.
(Puck begins to strum the guitar, singing softly to Beth. H keeps looking over at Kitty, the two smiling at each other)
I've been waiting too long
Sometimes I don't know what I will find
I only know it's a matter of time
When you love someone
When you love someone
It feels so right, so warm and true
I need to know if you feel it too
Maybe I'm wrong
Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong?
This heart of mine has been hurt before
This time I want to be sure
I've been waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
I've been waiting for a girl like you, your a love that will survive
I've been waiting for someone new to make me feel alive
Yeah, waiting for a girl like you to come into my life
Puck stood up, picking up Beth and putting her down to walked over to Puck, placing her hand on his arm. She smiled softly, whispering in his ear. "I'm happy you're here.'
Puck looked over at her and smiled, his entire body heating up. Yup, it's official: He's got it bad for Kitty Wilde.
Shelby played lightly on the piano, warming the girls of the Troubletones up. While Mercedes, Harmony, and the other girls sang in soft key and unison, Sugar had other ideas.
Her voice was nails scratching and combing down a chalkboard, her voice a rollercoaster moving up and down. When she reached her highest point it became a screech, the lowest a bellowing whale.
"Oh God, enough, you guys really do need my help." Santana said, walking in with her backpack attached to her back.
Mercedes smiled, Harmony peaking over her shoulder. "I knew you'd join us. The R&B soul divas are back!"
Mercedes wrapped her arm around Santana's shoulder, pressing their foreheads together in a hug. "We have to win now."
"I'm not too sure about that." Harmony popped up, holding up her finger. "We're a brand new club. While we might make it through sectionals, we definitely aren't making it past regionals. Newer show choirs never do."
Santana rolled her eyes at the mini Rachel Berry. "Oh please, we'd beat the team of blubbering whales and clique high school movie teens in no time. We are ten times better than them."
"But they're established. They have a big advantage." Harmony said, walking up to Santana.
Shelby stood up from the piano. "As much as I wish it wasn't true, Harmony is right. We'd be lucky to make it to Regionals. But it's an honor to even compete."
Mercedes turned over her shoulder to face the woman. "Then how do we prove we are more sexy and talented than those guys?"
"Well, number one, practice. If you guys show them how good they are, they might get distracted and freak out, losing their place." Shelby said, fixing the music on her stand.
A silent plane formed in between Mercedes, Santana, Sugar and Harmony. While none of them said it out loud, and Shelby didn't mean to conjure a ruthless idea in their head, it was settled. They were going to make sure the NEw Directions couldn't beat them out. They were going to make them distracted in any way they could.
"Girls?" Shelby asked, sitting back down at the piano and snapping them out of their fantasy. "Practice time."
The girls all nodded at each other, knowing what they were going to do next. Each of them imagined how their first performance would go-without the New Directions.
(Mercedes, Santana and Harmony imagine themselves in blue hostess uniforms. Red White and Blue backdrops flow behind them. Sugar and the rest of the Troubletones wear a tight red top with blue shorts and red heels. Very 1940's girls performance. All four girls sing)
I met him out for dinner on a Friday night
He really got me working up an appetite
He had tattoos up and down his arm
There's nothing more dangerous than a boy with charm
He's a one stop shop, makes the panties drop
He's a sweet talkin' sugar coated candy man
A sweet talkin' sugar coated candyman
He's a one stop, gotcha hot, makin' all the panties drop
(Sweet, sugar, candy man)
He's a one stop, got me hot, makin' my (uh) pop
(Sweet, sugar, candy man)
He's a one stop, get it while it's hot, baby, don't stop
(Sweet, sugar)
He got those lips like sugar cane
Good things come for boys who wait
He's a one stop shop with a real big (uh)
He's a sweet talkin' sugar coated candy man
(Say what) a sweet talkin' sugar coated candyman
(Say) a sweet talkin' sugar coated candyman, woo
A sweet talkin' sugar coated candyman
Candy man, candy man
Mr Schue sat in his office, looking up at the boy before him. "What do you mean you can't be in Glee Club anymore?" He asked, flabbergasted by the sudden change of events.
Senior Mike Chang stood before him, his head hanging low. "My dad found out that I want to be a dancer?"
Mr Schue sat up straight. "And? That's great news, he should be proud!"
Mike shook his head, his girlfriend, Tina, stood next to him holding his arm. "You don't get it Mr Schue. My dad has been wanting me to become a doctor since I was in diapers. When I came out of the womb my dad told me to look around the hospital room and said 'get used to this place, you're going to be a doctor".
Will looked down, the words wouldn't form in his mouth. First he lost his best soul singer, then R&B, and female lead singer. On top of that, Quinn had been skipping rehearsals to run Cheerios. The New dIrections were falling apart at the seams. Now his best male dancer was ready to book it out the doors.
"Have you talked to your father?"
Mike shook his head. "I can't. I'm already disappointed by dating Tina."
Tina looked up, confused. "What?"
Mike rubbed Tna's shoulder. "Nothing, Another time." The senior's attention turned back to Mr Schue. "I'm sorry, Mr Schue. But I gotta go...home and study for the AP exam in May...eight months away." With that, Mike walked out, with Tina sobbing on his arm.
The couple passed by Sugar and Mercedes, who gave the couple sympathetic looks.
"How did you know that would work?" Mercedes asked quietly to Sugar.
Sugar played with the ends of her hair. "His daddy and my daddy are business partners. I know him. And no parent who runs a multi-million dollar operation wants their kid to be a dancer." Sugar took a minute, her face going blank, before continuing with a smile. "Except mine!"
Mercedes curled her lips, nodding slightly. "I feel bad."
Sugar placed a hand on her friend's shoulder. "Don't. Revenge is fun."
Finn loved being with Harmony. While he was still confused if they were dating or not, they had been on three more dates after the previous. He walked her to class and they talked in the hall, even holding hands between classes. Even if they weren't "dating" he had a girl on his arm, a girl he liked, and that's what mattered.
"I'll see you after class?" Harmony asked with a smile, her hands lingering on his.
Finn nodded. "Yeah, I'll be here."
The two took a moment to look at each other, both of them wanting to say something more. Instead the air fell flat, and they parted ways.
Quinn hung out at her locker, like she usually did during her free periods, but this time she was wearing the face of jealousy. She watched as Puck flirted with Kitty down the hall from her, her eyes squinting every time she saw Puck do his signature 'too cool' look away move, or Kitty touch his arm. She hated it. She didn't LIKE Puck necessarily, but she wasn't too keen on him moving on from her and moving to a little freshmen.
Finn stuffed his hands in his pockets, walking up to Quinn. "Hey, what's up? You haven't been to the Glee Club."
Quinn crossed her arms, still keeping her eyes on the pair. "Yeah, been wrapped up in Cheerios and dealing with Berry-what does he see in her?" She asked, leaning foward slightly to see the pair better.
"Probably you." Finn jokes. Quinn turned over to him, her blonde ponytail hitting the metal locker with a clang due to the hairspray.
"What?"
Finn gestured to the couple down the hall. "Well, look at them. Kitty is a mini you. And he said that he wanted to hump and dump a girl, but he couldn't do it to her-probably cause she reminds him too much of you."
Quinn let her head press against the locker "Huh."
Santana overheard the conversation. She pretended to go fill up her Cheerio engraved water bottle, but she was keeping her eyes and ears out for dirt. She waited around a little bit, noticing Kitty start to part ways with Puck.
Once the blonde girl got close enough, Santana pulled her by the backpack, making her stumble back.
"Do you mind? Hands off, Sha-Queera." Kitty said, tugging her bag away from Santana.
Santana dropped the bag, placing her hands on her hips, walking infront of Kitty. "Look, you like mohawk over there?" She asked, titling her chin up as though to point.
Kitty looked back at Puck, and then at Santana. "We've been hanging out."
Santana did a fake laugh, crossing her arms as though to make believe she felt sorry for the girl. "Right, do you know why, lemonhead?"
Kitty shook her head.
"He wants to hump and dump you. He wants to get under your skirt and then never see you again." Santana explained. She watched as Kitty's face fell ever so slightly, her glances escaping over to the older boy.
"Just remember that."
Puck stormed into the choir room, pushing Finn against the stone wall. "What the hell man? Why would you tell her?"
Finn shoved Puck away from him, pushing the boy down. "I don't know what you're talking about! Get off me!"
"Kitty just told me she never wants to see me again and won't let me see Beth because she thinks I want to hump and dump her!" Puck said, jumping up from the floor, going back at Finn.
"As she should, you were rushing on a freshmen-remeber she's like 14." Quinn said, crossing her arms.
"She's fifteen, gonna be sixteen in July. She told me because guess what we are FRIENDS and have TALKED about it. I wasn't gonna hump and dump her!" Puck said, leaving Finn behind and storming over to Quinn. "So you said something to her!"
Quinn leaned foward in her seat. "I didn't, but I'm happy someone did. She dodged a bullet."
Puck grinded his teeth together, his hand clenching in a fist.
But Tina beat him to the punch. "You're just mad that Puck likes Kitty better than you." Tina said, who was standing up near the piano, leading her elbow on the edge of it.
Quinn stood up, going to the junior. "Oh shut up, Tina!"
The New Directions were in an all out war with each other, ready to rip each other's throats. The worst part is that one name kept coming up: Marley.
Marley sat in the chorus room, tapping on her binder, trying to figure out what to do. Her name rang and hung in their mouths, asking her to fix everything. She was the lead, she was the star, she should know what to do. She should know how to solve the conflicts within her group.
Everyone kept glancing over at the girl, her shaking. She leaned over to Kurt, next to her. "Am I supposed to do something? Why do they keep looking at me?"
Kurt shrugged, crossing his leg over one over the other. "Well you are the lead now, so yes."
Marley stood up, looking between the two fights. "Everyone, please!"
Kurt watched her and noticed she needed help. He stood up, cupping his hands around his mouth and yelling the same thing as the girl, louder grasping the group's attention and putting hold to the fights.
Marley mouthed thank you to Kurt, with Kurt nodding.
"Guys, we already lost so many people. Our group is already divided. We need to stick together. So we can't let love triangles and false rumors spread us apart. We need to work together and be friends. At least here!"
Everyone stared at her for a moment, Finn stepping back from Puck and calming himself. Tina and Quinn fixed their outfits.
Marley nodded at the group. "Now, let's have fun and be friends..please."
(The Glee Club is on the stage in fun ridiculous outfits. They all have the matching purple colors but in different varieties. Marley opens the song, dancing with Brittany)
You can't stop an avalanche
As it races down the hill
You can try to stop the seasons, girl
But you know you never will
And you can try to stop my dancin' feet
But I just cannot stand still
(Finn spins Marley, dancing as best as he can with her, as everyone dances like they are on a 60's dance show)
'Cause the world keeps spinning
'Round and 'round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost 'till I heard the drums
Then I found my way
'Cause you can't stop the beat
(Kurt dances and pushe arond Artie, the two singing with each other)
Ever since we first saw the light
A man and woman like to shake it on a Saturday night
So I'm gonna shake and shimmy it with all of my might today
'Cause you cant stop the motion of the ocean or the rain from above
You can try to stop the paradise we're dreaming' of
But you cannot stop the rhythm of two hearts in love to stay
'Cause you can't stop the beat!
(Everyone pushes Tina and Quinn to the front. The two give each other a look and then shrug, singing and dancing together)
Oh, Oh, Oh
You can't stop today
As it comes speeding 'round the track
Yesterday is history
And it's never comin' back!
'Cause tomorrow is a brand new day, and it don't know white from black
(Everyone dances at the same time, singing along. Mr Schue claps his hands while watching. Santana and Rachel pass by the auditorium. The girls both watch, Rachel sees them dancing and looks down. She wishes she could be with them and dance again, but she can't. She crosses her arms. Santana sees Finn dancing and laughs)
Ever since we first saw the sign
A man or woman like to shake it when the day is ooh ooh
And so we're gonna shake and shimmy it and have some fun today!
'Cause you can't stop the motion of the ocean or the rain from above
You can try to stop the paradise we're dreaming' of
But you cannot stop the rhythm of two hearts in love to stay!
'Cause you can't stop the beat!
You can't stop the beat
You can't stop the beat
"Hey Tubs, can I talk to you for a second?" Santana asked while walking in the busy hallway across from him.
Santana had constantly made fun of Finn, for as long as he knew her. He never paid attention to it before, but after Rocky Horror, he became more sensitive about his body. He began to work out all the time and make sure his body was in the best shape possible-and just when he felt comfortable with himself, Santana tore him down.
"I haven't been fair to you." Santana said, sounding slightly genuine. "I keep making fat jokes-you're not fat. I should know, I slept with you."
Finn raised his eyebrows, taking in Santana's words. He wasn't expecting her to be apologetic especially in the middle of a class change.
Santana carried on. "I mean, at some point I must've liked that you look like a taco addict who's had one too many back-alley liposuctions."
And here come the insults again. Finn went to put up his hand to tell Santana to stop. "Santana, not now-"
"Shut it, Lumps the clown, I'm not done," She took a deep breath before continuing. "I'm sorry, Finn. I really am sorry that the New Directions are going to get crushed by the Trouble Tones. I'm also sorry that you have no talent, you or that whiny snow twig that took Rachel Berry's spot from right under her. I'm sorry that you sing like you're getting your prostate checked, and you DANCE like you've been asleep for YEARS and someone just woke you up. Have fun riding on the coattails of the people near you for the rest of your life because you can't do anything yourself. I feel sorry for Harmony, and watch out during holiday time because come that time, if I were her, I'd stick a stent in one of those boobs and let the Finn blubber light the Hanukkah lamp for eight magical nights."
With that Santana shouldered past Finn, smirking at herself for a job well done, sure enough she crushed his confidence.
Finn Hudson stood there, staring at the glass doors. He was bubbling with anger and rage, but instead of lashing out he said one thing. "Hey Santana, why don't you just come out of the closet already?"
Santana stopped, her breathing being cut off, her chest becoming heavy. Her legs trembled and shook, her blood becoming ice cold. She couldn't fire back, she didn't have any part of her that could.
Cellphone cameras lit up, taking videos of the event.
Finn began to walk towards her, keeping his voice calm and stable, as though what he was saying was fact. "You know, I think I know why you're so good at tearing everybody else down. It's because you're constantly tearing yourself down because you can't admit to everybody you're in love with Brittany and she might not love you back."
Santana stared straight foward, locking eyes with Brittany who stood behind a few other cheerios. Finn's words sunk deep within Santana hating herself even more for who she was.
Finn leaned down into Santana's ear. "Admit to everyone how you feel. Go on, there are cameras."
People came closer to Santana as they were waiting for her confession.
"You know what I think you are? A coward." Finn took his hand off Santana's shoulder, pushing her foward ever so slightly. "See you later."
Santana stood there frozen, her heart fell and the pressure on her chest became heavier and heavier. That's when it hit her.
Her life was ruined.
