True to his word, the trio had reached Themyscira around the time Damyan said they would. And Raven absolutely hated it.

Iolite decorated almost every inch of Themyscira. Explains why I never saw it in my visions, she thought as she brought her knees to her chest.

She sat on the ground, alone, watching the dancing flames while worrying about her family. Someone had yet to approach her. Less than an hour ago, Damyan had declared her off-limits in front of everyone - everyone being the remaining occupants of Themyscira. She didn't need her powers to sense how unhappy the people were with that order. But the leader of Themyscira complied.

"Excuse me, miss," a voice said from beside her. Raven turned to see a little girl looking at her with large, blue eyes. "This is for you." The little girl held out a cup of water.

"Thank you," Raven smiled at the act of kindness as she reached for the cup. As Raven's fingertips brushed against the girl's hands, a vision burst through the restraints of the iolite, causing Raven to yelp in pain.

Everything was on fire.

Arrows embedded themselves into the bodies of Themyscira's warriors.

Screams filled the air, and the little girl with the large, blue eyes lay dead in Raven's arms.

Raven jumped to her feet, knocking away the cup, startling her companion.

The little girl slowly backed away.

"I – I'm sorry," Raven tried to apologize, but the little girl ran away, screaming for her mother.

Raven's heart raced in her chest as she looked around. She needed to find Damyan. Now.

"Damyan."

Damyan looked up from his knife sharpening as Raven rushed into his makeshift abode.

"I have to go," she fell to her knees beside him. "If I stay, Slaede will find me. These people will die."

"What?" he set his weapon down, taking in her panicked expression.

"I need to leave," she turned to go.

"Wait," Damyan stopped her, latching onto her wrist and pulling her to the floor beside him. "You know for a fact that Slaede will come here?"

"He…I…" Raven stuttered.

"You see multiple futures, correct?" Damyan asked. She nodded. "Does Slaede attack in every vision?" Raven didn't respond to that question. "Could it be your fear controlling you?" he searched her face.

"I can't stay here, Damyan," Raven grasped his hands, willing him to understand. "The longer I stay here, the more dangerous it is for my family and for these people. And I don't want…" Raven paused as tears pooled in her eyes. "I don't want these people to die. I don't want you to die."

"Hey," Damyan cupped her face in his hands, "I'm not going to die."

"You don't know that," Raven whispered.

"And you do?"

Raven lowered her eyes. "I have seen some things," she answered quietly.

"Raven," Damyan gently caressed her face, giving in to the weird feelings in his chest and stomach. "You don't need to worry about me."

"Damyan- "

"No," he quietly interrupted her, "The future is always changing. Do you know what that means?" he cupped her face in his hands. Raven shook her head. "It means I make my own fate. I choose my own destiny," he said before he finally pulled her into a heated kiss.

Raven placed her hands on his shoulder. She knew she should push him away. But as he pulled her onto his lap and dragged his fingers through her hair, Raven found she didn't want to. Instead, she wanted to know what it felt like to be cherished. Even if it was for one night.
