Once upon a time, evil Caroline Bingley, George Wickham and Lady Catherine de Bourgh stole Elizabeth Bennet's story to profit from it themselves. But the good people of Meryton, recognizing a work written by "A Lady of Meryton" who was writing under a pen name but known to be one of their own, alerted "A Lady" and she was able to prove the story as her own.

Darcy was so disgusted by the actions of Wickham (who gloatingly confessed to his dirty deeds and who his accomplices were, believing Darcy would do nothing because otherwise Georgiana's reputation would be sullied by Wickham's tongue). But Wickham judged wrongly as Darcy was angry enough to summon Colonel Fitzwilliam, who used his family influence to get Wickham sent to be cannon fodder for the front line.

While Darcy wanted a similar treatment for Caroline and Lady C, as they were women, he simply gave them the cut direct and told everyone of their misdeeds. Caroline never married. Lady C lost all the respect of everyone and her advice was never followed again by anyone, not even Collins. Anne was able to free herself from the cloistering life her mother had thrust upon her and live her remaining time to the fullest. Bingley was so disgusted that he disowned his sister, returned to Netherfield and promptly proposed to Jane.

As for Darcy, he felt himself to be in love with both Miss Elizabeth and "A Lady" despite having no knowledge of who she was. Happy was the day he discovered that both women were one. It was Elizabeth herself who told him, her heart having been softened by learning all he had done for "A Lady."

The end.

Yes, I know this isn't a good story; I am just trying to comply with FF's content rules. I am worried that more stolen Stories besides idibo's may be on Kindle Vella. These things tend to happen with one person stealing and posting works as long as they can get away with it, and Kindle Vella is so new . . . Authors and loyal fans, go on Amazon, select Kindle Store and select Kindle Vella and search for "Pride and Prejudice." Fans, if you recognize a story, PM the author or leave a review on the story if you see it published and the author has not said it was being published.

This is worth doing on Kindle Unlimited as well. I had a story stolen before and wouldn't have known it except for a caring fan telling me. I was able to get it pulled by reporting it as a copyright infringement and showing how my original work was available online. There is a button on the bottom of these stories for authors to do that.

Anyone who helps out authors in this way is a hero and help keeps content available here.

Also, once an author says a work is stolen and appearing on Vella, clicking to read the free part and leaving negative comments can alert others not to read stolen works. Be aware that Amazon will not let you post a review using the words "stolen" "copyright violation" and the like, so you need to use other words to get your point across (but it appears that "comments" on Vella are not subject to the same moderation restrictions).

Thanks for doing your part to help us all out. We've got to stick together to defeat the baddies. Don't let Wickham, Caroline and Lady C. win!!!

AN: Yes, I am still around, and no I have not lost my muse. I am just incredibly busy with my new job and fundraising for a short-term mission trip my son and I are going on to Guatemala to do art with abused girls. I am reading plenty of stories on here during my downtime, however.
