Ticket here, and welcome to the Introductory part of "Fight for Fiji!" Here's some notes about the season:
— New tribe format. Instead of doing two tribes of nine, we've got three tribes of six (you will see this mentioned later, sorry')
— Merge is at the final twelve this time. The castaways aren't aware of this yet.
— There will still be a Final Two.
— There WILL be one, and only one twist coming at (likely) the final eleven. I won't reveal what it is yet.
With that being said, I won't waste any more time with this Author's Note, and I'll send you RIGHT to the Intro!
"Welcome to Fiji…"
Various skyscraper-like shots are shown of the island.
"This season, eighteen castaways will compete for the million dollar prize, and the title of Sole Survivor!"
Three boats are caught headed to the Fijian islands, six people on each boat. The first contestant we see is a familiar chef in a white jacket.
Gordon: On my show, people stopped their lives to come and work for me. This time, I'm stopping mine to work in Fiji. When i flew out here i signed a contract that guarantees a million, so it's time to pick up my check.
On the same boat, we catch a dark, furry-like creature.
Infinite: I've come to win. Friends don't matter much to me. In the end winning means five out of nine jurors will respect what I can bring. It doesn't need to be unanimous.
Boats are switched, and we see is a short man in a black tank top, and carrying green gloves.
Little Mac: I'm not coming up short this time. I've got the cardio to win challenges, people at home respect me, and even though I don't usually watch these shows..I could come out and surprise people. Moral of the story? Never count me out.
The camera focuses on a brown mole next, chewing on wheat.
Monty: Where I'm from, if you can't pick up the slack, you get cut off. Don't know much about the strategy, so I hope people don't think I'm dumb.
He picks up a rock.
Monty: I'm smarter than this..I promise.
Switching to the third boat, a gruff Australian with a knife in his pocket.
Kano: Daddy's here, and he's gonna have some fun! A million are on the line and he doesn't care who you are: if you get in the way, you're getting cut. Got it?
Cut to a Koopa, with lipstick and eyelashes.
Kristine: I'm the second Koopa on the series and after Greg flopped, I have to prove myself!
A label shows up beside her name: "Greg's Cousin."
Kristine: I'm not going to let the Koopas get done dirty again!
The boats all converge at shore, each castaways hopping out to enter a five week journey. Already standing there, is the host of the season, back for a third time: Jeff Probst.
The eighteen castaways split into three groups, knowing beforehand on the ride there that the people they rode with would start with them.
The first tribe in Fatu steps on their Purple colored mat.
The second tribe in Roku steps on their Orange colored mat.
The third tribe in Toka steps on their Green colored mat.
With all eighteen on their colored mats…Jeff Probst opens the season.
"Welcome to Survivor: Fight for Fiji!"
The cast cheers, even those like Kano who could just be pretending! Jeff, a grin on his face, gets ready to make it clear on what's going to happen.
"Over the next five weeks, you will have to outwit, outplay, and outlast the seventeen people living with you. On paper, it seems simple: You align with or betray people like it's no big deal. In reality, it's still a hard game. Whether you like it…"
The cam focuses on Toriel.
"Or not.."
The cam focuses on Infinite.
"You will have to build relationships with people, and question whether it will get in the way of winning. In the end, those relationships will determine who will vote for you at the Final Tribal Council, where we will crown the winner."
Understood.
"Before we play though, it's common sense that in this game: We need our tribes first…"
Jeff pulls out buffs and passes them to the castaways! Purple buffs for six, Orange buffs for another six, and Green buffs for the remaining six.
"Gordon, Toriel, Luigi, Bandana Waddle Dee, Infinite, and Nelson…you are the Fatu tribe."
Nelson can't help but smile in his Purple buff.
Nelson: I've been waiting YEARS to get on the show, and now I'm finally here! It's like a dream come true.
"Matt, Sonic, Li Mei, Little Mac, Claptrap, and Monty Mole…you are the Roku Tribe."
The Orange tribe understands.
"Lastly: Kano, Kabal, Tremor, Kristine, Red, and Blu…you are the Toka Tribe."
Tremor, in his Green buff, assesses his tribe.
Tremor: This is a strange tribe: I'll have to work with creatures i've never seen before. They've never seen what i have, so I have an advantage over half my tribe. And it's only day one.
After all the buffs are put on, Jeff pulls out three well maps, and those who have watched before know the drill.
"There's a pot and machete waiting for you at yours camp. Here's the map to water…" he tosses the maps to the castaways. Toriel, Sonic, and Kabal catch them!
"Our first challenge will be a couple days from now. Get to know eachother, strategize, and head over to your camps. I'll see you Day 3." With Jeff's dismissal, the eighteen split up into three groups of six. As they head back, the last confessional (of this chapter) goes to Toriel.
Toriel: I've watched societies rise and fall. If I want to make it far, then I'll do my best to make sure Fatu is the best society possible.
Tribe Divisions:
Fatu: Gordon, Toriel, Luigi, Bandana Waddle Dee, Nelson, and Infinite
Roku: Matt, Sonic, Li Mei, Little Mac, Claptrap, and Monty Mole
Toka: Kano, Kabal, Tremor, Kristine, Red, and Blu
No authors note until Episode 1A…coming soon(er than you think),
