Chapter 4: The Party
A few weeks after the pep rally, Summer received an invitation to a party from one of her new friends. She was excited to go, as she had heard that this particular party was legendary.
As she got ready, she couldn't help but feel nervous. She didn't know many people at the party, and she had a feeling that it was going to be a wild night.
When she arrived, the party was already in full swing. There were people dancing, drinking, and laughing all around her. She scanned the crowd, looking for her friends, when she spotted Lucas Scott across the room.
He was surrounded by a group of girls, all vying for his attention. Summer rolled her eyes and tried to ignore him, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.
She made her way over to the snack table, where she found Nathan Scott grabbing a handful of chips. He smiled when he saw her and offered her some chips.
They chatted for a few minutes, and Summer found herself relaxing around him. He was funny and easy to talk to, and she couldn't deny that she was starting to like him.
As the night wore on, Summer found herself having a great time. She danced with her friends, played some drinking games, and even talked to a few new people.
But as the party started to wind down, things took a turn for the worse. Lucas Scott had had a little too much to drink, and he was causing a scene.
He was stumbling around, knocking over drinks and slurring his words. Summer watched in horror as he made his way over to her, a lopsided grin on his face.
"Hey, Summer," he said, leaning in a little too close. "Why don't we go somewhere a little more private?"
Summer recoiled, feeling disgusted. She had never seen this side of Lucas before, and she didn't like it one bit.
But before she could respond, Nathan stepped in. He put a hand on Lucas's shoulder and steered him away from Summer.
"Come on, man," he said. "Let's get you some water."
Summer couldn't help but feel grateful to Nathan. He had saved her from an awkward and potentially dangerous situation.
As she left the party, she couldn't help but think about Nathan in a different light. Maybe he wasn't just a cool guy to talk to. Maybe he was the kind of guy who would always have her back.
