'What a headache' Draco thought to himself, it was bad enough everyone saw him as evil at school and went out of their way to avoid him. Now he had to deal with a surprise saintess for a sister too? He wasn't in the mood to play nice, and the fact that she was anything but a Slytherin irritated him more.

"So...are they aware she's back?" He asked, his lips pursed into a thin line as he gave his 'sister' the side eye.

"Not...yet, we want you both to be the ones to reintroduce her to your parents—under normal circumstances Snape would've been the one to accompany you but seeing as he has..fallen" The headmistress paused lowering her head, clearly still mourning. "You two will have to take on the task yourselves."

Draco and Hermione turned to their left to see Isla sniffle and wipe her eyes with her sleeves, attempting to contain her own sadness and fear.

"Headmistress this is a lot.. maybe, Isla should be given some time to adjust." Hermione suggested, softly placing her hand on the blondes shoulder.

"Adjust to what? Having an immense amount of money overnight? Being related to one of the best pure blood lines there are?" Draco Sneered, allowing his contempt to get the better of him.

"No. Adjust to having a brother and parents she never knew about! She also needs time to mourn the death of the person who raised her—who by the way she thought was her biological mother this entire time!" Hermione snapped at him.

"Oh please I bet you're just trying to delay her integration into pureblood society because that's something you'll never do yourself, MudBlood." Draco Spat.

"Ha! If anything I Pity her for such a thing! Having to be stuck with a snobbish, Devil for a brother like you!" The brunette jeered.

"Enough!" The headmistress snapped, slamming her fist on her desk and shutting up both teenagers.

"Ms Granger makes a solid argument, you two will be given until Christmas to come to terms with this new reality. Until then Ms Granger please make sure Ms Malfoy gets accommodated and comfortable within her new quarters—she is after all 1 year below you."

Hermione nodded before curiosity lit up her eyes. " Of course headmistress but—May I ask why christmas specifically?"

Draco groaned and leaned back in his seat, " you and your need to know everything!" This earned him a glare from Hermione, to his pleasure.

"It is to my understanding that each year families like the Malfoys hold a grand ball together for Christmas, the perfect place to introduce Isla to her family and their friends." McGonagall explained, ignoring Draco's comment to Hermione.

Hermione nodded and stood up, "alright! Don't worry headmistress I'll make sure Isla settles in alright!" She chirped.

Isla gave Hermione and the headmistress a grateful smile. "Th-Thank You." She sniffled, once again trying not to cry.

"Of course!" Hermione said, allowing Isla to hold onto her sleeve for comfort as they began to walk out of the office, a sulking Draco trudging along behind them.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" The headmistress called out, causing them to turn their heads.

"What is it?" Both Hermione and Draco asked, although Hermione said it politely and Draco with an impolite and impatient edge to his voice.

"From today onward you two, Hermione Granger—and Draco Malfoy, will be Head Girl and Head boy. Seeing as you are both top of your grade and upperclassmen to the rest." She handed them each a badge with the insignia of their house imprinted on it.

"Wow—it's an honor!" Hermione gushed. "We won't let you down headmistress!" She said dutifully before turning and ushering Isla out with her.

'We?' Draco repeated in his mind as he shoved the badge into his coat. Something about her being the one to say that specific word made him feel odd but he quickly shrugged it off and followed after them.

"This is it!" Hermione announced as she led Isla and a grumbling Draco to the stairs of the Hufflepuff Dormitory.

"Couldn't tell." Draco said sarcastically, eyeing the yellow decor that lined the stairway.

Hermione glared at Draco quickly dismissing his comment. She turned back to Isla who nervously fiddled with her fingers, clearly unnerved by Draco's behavior. "Do you need any help getting your stuff up to your dorm?" She asked softly.

The Blonde bit her lip and looked down at the ground, thinking for a moment before shaking her head. "No..thank you. You've been a big help already I don't want to trouble you more." She smiled at Hermione before giving Draco an awkward one.

"It's no trouble, this guys always boasting about how amazing he is I'm sure he can handle a suitcase." Hermione waved her worries off, she looked at Draco mischievously before hauling over the suitcase and handing it to him. "Ain't that right Malfoy?"

Draco scowled at her, "Why must I? Neither of us is her prefect let her handle it."

"No but you're her brother now go and take that up to her dorm." Hermione smirked, pointing up the stairs.

"Bloody Woman" he growled, begrudgingly carrying the suitcase up the stairs with ease.

As they watched him ascend the stairs Hermione couldn't help but notice the muscles that slightly outlined his body, even with his uniform it was clear he was well toned.

"I don't think he likes me very much.." Isla whimpered suddenly.

"Don't take his attitude to heart, he's like that to most people." Hermione looked at Isla sympathetically, placing a hand on her shoulder for comfort. "I'm sure he'll come around." 'I hope' the last bit she left out not wanting to worry the poor girl.

Isla nodded silently, looking back up to see Draco returning with a scowl on his face. Since she met him he seemed to always harbor that expression.

"There, I'm done here." Draco grunted, he closed in on Isla inspecting her briefly before growling, " I'll be off, you better not do anything to tarnish our name."

Isla nodded and quickly scurried up the stairs a dejected look on her face as she disappeared into her common room.

Hermione spun around to face Draco looking pissed. "Why do you have to be such an arse to her?!"

"Oh piss off MudBlood." He hissed.

"No! I thought you'd be glad to find someone to be on your side, for heavens sake, the whole school hates you and you're turning away the one person who doesn't know you for that crappy personality of yours!" She walked rapidly after Draco who attempted to ignore her and speed walk away.

"Yknow I thought Slytherins at least took care of their own, I guess I was mistaken." She scoffed, knowing his house pride would get the better of him.

"She is no Slytherin." He spun around to glare at her.

"No, but she's your sister, how many times do I have to say it for it to get through your thick skull?"

"That thing is no sister of mine. No Malfoy would be anything but a Slytherin, there's no way she's related to us in any way. Now mind your own business and go worry about your stupid little Gryffindor house huh?" Draco Retorted, his anger growing.

"I seriously Pity you Draco Malfoy, for all your talent you'll never get to enjoy yourself. You'll end up alone with that nasty temper of yours" she moved her foot to spin around and leave but not before a large weight pushed against her and pinned her to the wall.

She let out a gasp as her back hit the wall with a thud. Draco towered over here before bending over and grabbing her chin, roughly forcing her to look up at him. She trembled almost falling down before he snaked his arm around her waist to keep her where she was.

"Get off of me!" She protested, clenching her hand onto his wrist tightly and attempting to push him away as he inched closer to her face.

"Listen here you filthy MudBlood, you know nothing about me so stop pretending to know everything. I don't care if you're all buddy buddy with that thing my mother sent away but keep me out of your little friendship fantasies." He growled, inching closer until their noses were almost touching.

As he finished he suddenly noticed the trembling she was trying so hard to suppress. He looked into her eyes too see them well up with tears as she looked at his, hers wide with fear and anger. His heart suddenly clenched and he began to feel conflicted. Normally he took satisfaction in being feared, so what was this feeling?

Before he could think any further a firm hand clenched his shoulder and pulled him off of the brunette. He stumbled back with a grunt and looked up to find one of his house mates had moved to step in front of her.
