Authors Note: This will be split into three parts: This one shows the tribes getting to camp and some discussions, 1B will feature more camp life, and 1C will feature the Immunity Challenge and FIRST Tribal Council of the season, where we get our first taste of Tribal strategy.

Let's get right into it!

Fatu: Gordon, Toriel, Luigi, Bandana Waddle Dee, Nelson, and Infinite

Roku: Matt, Sonic, Li Mei, Little Mac, Claptrap, and Monty Mole

Toka: Kano, Kabal, Tremor, Kristine, Red, and Blu

18 will enter, only ONE will win. Who will be voted out FIRST?

Fatu: Day 1

"When it comes to the camp life, we should split up. It would make the work go faster." Gordon suggests. "I'll take bamboo with you." Toriel volunteers. "I can find the water!" Waddle Dee shouts. "Anyone wanna go with me?" Luigi raises his hand. That leaves Infinite and Nelson.

"I can carry firewood." Infinite says, and Nelson steps closer. "I'll go with." The dark hog just steps away from him.

"Settled then. Here's to a good camp." Gordon says.

The first camp chore we see is Toriel and Gordon's, both carrying bamboo.

"You stepped up as the leader early.." Toriel says.

"In my profession, letting other people take charge is like a coin flip." Gordon responds. "It's a habit of mine. But I'm not overbearing an i?"

"Of course not! I was just curious why you stepped up so early." she says. The Chef raises his bamboo. "You won't have to worry about anything unless someone messes with me."

"Let's hope we don't have troublemakers here."

Toriel: My first impression of Gordon's that he's..shall I say, blunter than the others. But he's not bad to have around. He seems like one of the strongest, and we're both the oldest here. They always go after or look down on older people. It's time we change that.

She pauses, something else coming to mind.

Toriel: But I also came out here to meet new people. He did mention his profession before…I'd love to know about that.

Given his comment earlier, she has more to sink her teeth into.

"What's your favorite part of your job?" This could go various ways. "I get to tour the world, fix up restaurants around the world."

"Oh that's nice…"

"It's nice, until you hit a sh*thole." Anyone want a taste of Amy's Bakery?

"Liiike?"

"If I listed them we'd be here a while."

Gordon: Toriel seems like a sweet girl. She asks questions to add to the conversation. I just got done shooting Season 30 of "Hell's Kitchen" and this is the most pleasant talk I've had with anyone over the past year.

Meanwhile, Bandana Waddle Dee is holding the map to water, all while talking with Luigi.

"I don't know if this is..offensive or anything, but you're telling me that people your size built a whole town that quickly?" Luigi asks. He's seen ghosts, dragons, hell on Earth but he didn't have a clue on what a Waddle Dee Town was.

"We aren't the strongest on our world, but we try our best. That's what matters to me!" the Dee says. "And no offense taken."

Luigi breaths in relief.

Luigi: Back in Brooklyn, and even the Mushroom Kingdom, my brother was the one oozing confidence. He wins the races, he gets the girls, and he beats the enemies. I'm not Mario, so I'm trying to watch my step and stay out of messes. If I offended someone on the first day and everyone saw it…ohhhh nooo..

The two continue forward to wherever this well is. Since the two have had some wild experience you could only see in an acid trip, they are shared. Dee is the first to do so.

"I've had to fight off an angry tree before. They're no joke, the roots will stab ya!" he says. "I have alot of stories but I wanna hear from you! Whatcha got?"

Right into it.

"I got an invitation with my family, and thought we would have a nice vacation. As it turns out, we were dealing with a poltergeist.."

"WHAT?!"

"It was an awful weekend, but at least i won in the end. I used a vacuum to do it too, I brought it as my luxury item." After he said that, the Waddle Dee got an idea. A "fun" idea.

"Do we know if the islands are haunted?"

"Uhh.."

"It'll be so much fun, come on!"

Luigi's actually sweating. He wipes it off and has a small window to answer before it gets awkward. "As long as we don't go out too far, I'll do it.."

Waddle Dee: I came here to work hard, and have fun! I didn't run from threats in my world so ghost hunting should be a-ok! Luigi is a little different from me, but that doesn't mean we can't bond. You gotta have somebody out here.

We'll catch up with Infinite and Nelson later, but now…we had to switch tribes.

Roku: Day 1

The Roku tribe enter, with Matt having the water well map in his hand.

Matt: Even though I have to make some moves to win, I'm a player, AND a coach. Somebody has to be at the top, and if it has to be me, I'll volunteer.

"Ok…who wants to find the well with me?" He asks, and a familiar blue hedgehog raises his hand. "I got this." Alright, Matt and Sonic will head to the well.

"Who's got firewood?" Matt asks, and two more volunteer. "I do." Mac says. "I'll go with." says Li Mei.

That just leaves two people left on bamboo: Claptrap and Monty. (But we'd be getting to how they feel in 1B.)

The first thing we see in their (traditional) Build The Camp Segment, is the Wii Sports and SEGA icons headed for the water well.

"I don't know about you, but I'm pumped for another adventure!" Sonic exclaims.

"You travel a lot?"

"All the time. At the speed of light.." Matt chuckles. "I wish I could still move like that." That one comment gets Sonic thinking: was he actually fast too?

"Did you run track?" The hedgehog asks.

"I did that, and then some. Think Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, even some Boxing." That last event…Matt must have really been able to fight. "So if someone wanted to box, would you take the challenge?" Sonic asks, and Matt just shakes his head. "Not on the island. On the outside? They know why I'm undefeated."

That's enticing. "Ok…what if some hedgehog from a world far away wanted to test his luck?"

Matt cracks a smile. "Don't."

Matt: Sonic brings energy to the table. He wants the challenge, he wants the fight…kind of like myself back in the day. I didn't become a Pro because I was complacent, I did it cause I WANTED to. It was rewarding. To the people at home who aren't motivated, always laying in bed and sitting on their couch: TRY. When you crawl outta the bottom, you won't regret it.

He got that coach in him.

Back to their talk, and Sonic is insisting on boxing this man.

"I have the quickest hands in Mobius. They're about to break that streak of yours." Sonic says, teasing him further about it. "If you wanna box come to Wuhu Island. We just built a new arena."

"I'm no ducker I'll be there!"

Matt smirks. "…To lose."

"Oh we'll see."

The hedgehog is smirking in his confession.

Sonic: Matt can dish it out AND take it. Those are my favorite people! Where's the fun in a one-sided relationship?

That's so ironic coming from him…but he also got a point.

Meanwhile on the firewood side of things, Little Mac and Li Mei carry some over to camp. On the way, Li Mei glimpses at the boxer. What was she going to bring up?

"This tribe seems like it will be strong. Its a relief to know." she says, trying to get SOME conversation going. Luckily for her, Mac isn't anti-social.

"Are you making me feel better because I'm short?" Little Mac got a Little Humor.

"No! That wasn't meant to offend. I said that out of confidence for the tribe not—"

"It's cool." Mac goes her a reassuring smile. "I was just giving you a hard time."

"Oh…"

Little Mac: I don't know where Li Mei comes from, but she doesn't get some humor. Maybe she's just had a hard time in her world?

The two continue their trek.

"I've been called Shortstop, Little Man, Pee Wee, every short joke in the book. It's fine." he says. At least Mac was trying to make her comfortable after that.

"Thank you for clarifying."

"No problem."

Li Mei: In an environment where you will need to seek allies, Mac is appealing. I've seen men attack each other over food. Mac doesn't seem like that. An insecurity is brought up and he's level headed about it. That's not just someone I want to work with, but I'd like to talk with him about it too.

Toka Tribe: Day 1

Since the edit showed the arrangements twice already, they, mercifully, won't be shown a third time. But back to business, the six Toka have a chance to make a good first impression. A bad one would suck balls.

Lucky for a couple of the castaways, this was their tenth impression.

Cut to Kano and Kabal carrying the firewood together.

(Kabal) "Thank the elder gods you applied.."

(Kano) "We're gonna be the elder gods now mate."

it's official: they have a pregame alliance. While it's not usual for newbie seasons, it wasn't completely out of the question. Back in Season 35, Ali and Patrick knew eachother. It's the same case here.

"How long until they sniff us out?" Kano asks.

"I give it three weeks…one if there's a cop."

Kabal: I came to make some money, but i wasn't expecting Kano. It's another advantage for me so I'm not complaining.

Back to their conversation, Kano decides they need to cover more.

"I was lookin' at our team, and outta everyone Tremor's the best. He's strong, and if we wanna run the table then we gotta keep him around." Bold to judge your tribe-mates immediately, but Kano wasn't the type to care. He's been living in a cutthroat profession since god knows when.

"While we're judging the tribe, we should worry about the two dinosaurs. There's only room for one pregame alliance."

"Can't have competition."

Kano: People can cry about how unfair this is but I don't give a rats $$, this ain't the first time people who know each other have been put on the same season. It just so happens..I got who i wanted.

He pulls a blade from his pocket. His luxury item…out of everything.

Kano: We call ourselves the Black Dragon. We have two heads. We'd love to grow a couple more.

The last thing we see is his sinister smile.

They are still carrying that firewood like it's lightweight.

"Here's to the final two." Kabal quips.

"Unless I betray you."

"Not if I do it first."

While the Black Dragon bonds over their advantage over everyone else, Red and Blu are bonding over a very obvious feature.

Blu has the map, but she's not paying any attention.

"I'm SO glad there's another Yoshi! Every time we go in alone it doesn't go well…" She knows well about how Penelope's time was.

"It'll be fine! We're a pretty strong tribe and we have a Koopa here too. We aren't really disadvantaged!" Red assures.

Blu: The Toka people are…intimidating to say the least. But Red? He's positive! I'll take anything good, and "positive" is good!

The red dinosaur glimpses at the well map, Blu not even looking at it. "Blu…" he gestures towards the map and that's when she flips the map over. "OH! Sorry, I got distracted."

"As long as we find the well that's all that matters."

Red: When I got off the boat, I didn't know what to expect. But after seeing someone like me here, it makes me more confident for the five weeks we're out here.

Alright, so it seems that for the relationships forming, we have: Gordon/Toriel, Waddle Dee/Luigi, Matt/Sonic, Mac/Li Mei, Red/Blu, and even Kano/Kabal who came from the SAME group on the outside world! Unfair advantage for that duo, but the seasons still early, and there's plenty of time until Final Tribal.

To the six people who got no content in 1A…they'll get some in the next part. I'm talking Nelson, Infinite, Claptrap, Monty Mole, Tremor, and Kristine.
