The sun had set and Lily was still hard at work in her workshop, Circuit and Sparkle at her side. Suddenly, a loud crash shattered the quiet evening. A window shattered, and strange slimy creatures with glowing eyes and with tentacles ending in razor-sharp claws began to pour in.
Lily was taken aback. She had never seen anything like these creatures before, and they were advancing towards her, their claws clicking ominously on the concrete floor.
Circuit and Sparkle immediately jumped into action, firing energy blasts at the creatures. Lily quickly grabbed her wrench and joined the fray, swinging it at the creatures' tentacles. The creatures seemed to be coming in endless waves, and the trio was quickly becoming overwhelmed.
Just when it seemed like they were about to be overrun, a loud clanging noise drew their attention. They turned to see Gear, a workshop helper robot that was one of Lily's first creatures and that helped her build Circuit, leaving its work station and marching into the fray.
"Sorry I'm late to the party!" Gear announced in a monotonous mechanic voice, before charging at the creatures with surprising agility.
It ferociously tore at the tentacles and struck hammer-like blows at the cores of the monsters. Soon, their numbers thinned, and with Circuit and Sparkle keeping up relentless fire, the battle was soon over.
As the last of the creatures retreated through the broken window, Lily turned to Gear. "How did you do that?" she asked, amazed.
"I learned," Gear replied simply.
Lily smiled. The learning certainly came in handy. But now she started to realize that she needed to learn something, too.
