Fatu: Day 3

It's the third sunrise in Fiji, birds are chirping, the perfect stereotypical morning.

A certain Chef leaves his bamboo bed, holding his back. The first thing he sees when he wakes up is a moving fire, and Toriel in front of it.

"It's a beautiful morning, isn't it?"

The Chef looks to his right, and sees two sleeping bodies in Luigi and Bandana Dee. "Good morning.." Gordon says, headed to sit next to the fire. "Do you know where the others went?"

"Nelson said he had to relief himself. Infinite left because the bed was uncomfortable." she responds. Gordon shakes his head and mouths: "idols." She catches that one and starts whispering "It's not wise to go searching this early."

"Somebody should have told them that."

Gordon: Pretty early to be going for idols but…

He throws his hands up.

Gordon: Thats just the bloody game isn't it?

Day three with poor food.

Their talk is still being shown though.

"I'm more concerned with Infinite…he's not really connecting with anybody." Toriel says. "He's not a people person."

"Don't judge him so early.."

"I'm not judging, I know something. You know what he told me yesterday?" The Chef was about to sell him down the river. "He threw Nelson under."

"Already?"

"Called him annoying. At first I thought he was quiet, but after he raised his voice I saw who he was." Toriel frowns after hearing that. She, Bandana Dee, and Luigi seemed to be positive for morale but the oncoming drama could tank it. She knows very well about what happens when morale tanks.

She still has sympathy for Gordon and even Nelson. "I'm sorry he yelled at you for something so trivial. He didn't even do anything wrong."

"No need to apologize. He made the mistake after all."

Gordon: Bad news: Infinite's digging himself a grave. Good news: We have two easy targets.

Roku: Day 3

The first person to wake on the Roku beach, is a blue hedgehog. Unlike the Fatu, this is…at five in the morning.

The first thing he does after getting up is go to the shore.

Sonic: I just thought it'd be cool to get a Yoga session in. I can't win anything if my bones are shaky! So i woke up and…guess who's sleep schedule is shaky?

Before he even does his first pose…Monty Mole enters the frame, with several coconuts in hand. He might as well just reap the island for then. Sonic stares at his nuts.

"You're up early."

"Never slept."

The hedgehog double takes. "Really wanted that worm huh?"

"I snatch it all the time."

The hedgehog glimpses at the other four Roku still sleeping. Some had been up for a while, having to get used to the bamboo. Sonic didn't have much trouble, he could sleep anywhere.

"If you wanna relax, you can fit in a couple hours." He says. "Everyone needs a break sometime." The mole drops another coconut in a pile. "I'll be fine. Went a week without sleep."

"A week?" Sonic questions, and a impromptu idea comes to mind. "You need to give yourself a break man. I'll get the coconuts, you need some rest. We have a challenge coming up."

"Thanks but I'll be fine."

The hedgehog is baffled to say the least.

Sonic: I'm all for staying up late, but even people like me have a bed time! It's not consistent but still! Monty's the workhorse of the tribe, and you know what? That's his new nickname. Because he never stops working.

The last Roku footage before the challenge is Monty clawing into a coconut.

Toka: Day 3

All of Toka is awake, sitting around the fire and just getting along. Red seems to be telling a story to his tribe.

"..and THEN, I flung my egg at the wall, it bounced off, and hit that ghost where it hurts!" He mimics the egg splashing the ghost.

"On the head?" Kano asks.

"Nope! On the back!" Red responds, with a smile.

Red: We're the happy, fun tribe! We can play games, we can share stories, and no one's worried about anything!

Kano: He thinks his little adventures are impressive. Fighting a ghost is just a walk in the park compared to the sh*tshow known as my life. I'd have these animals around my finger in the story department.

Given she lives on the same world as him, Blu knows exactly what he's talking about.

"YOU went to the Potted Ghost's Castle?!" Red responds with a warm smile. "Wasn't as bad as it looked."

"I—-you are something else!"

Blu: He actually had guts to stop by the Potted Ghosts Castle! NO Yoshi wants to go there but Red…

She stares into space

Blu: He's so brave…

While the Yoshi's go on about the Potted Ghosts Castle lore, Kabal and Kano glimpse at eachother. Kano has a little grimace, while Kabal wags a finger.

"Don't…" Kabal mouths.

While the Yoshi are distracted by eachother, Tremor AND Kristine see this. Buuut, they decide to say nothing. Just to keep the kuumbaya one last time.

Kabal: He wanted to one-up them, I could see it in his eyes. Kano doesn't know what a social game is.

Kano: Kabal's trying to parent me. Whatever mate, I don't care what happens as long as I get to the end with him. We can get our big sum and move on from this.

Knowing how much Kano loves his cut of the $, he'd play like Russell if he felt it'd benefit him.

Immunity/Reward Challenge: Day 3

"Come on in!"

The three tribes enter, and since nobody has left yet, they were all able to see numbers at the same time. The three tribes get to their colored mats, but before Jeff gets to the challenge we hear from three castaways.

B-Roll of Bandana Dee is shown.

Bandana Dee: I'm the smallest one out here, so the chip is crushing my shoulder! The small people always leave early, and something always come up the challenges! That shouldn't be me.

Next footage of Li Mei walking in is shown.

Li Mei: The sting of defeat's never pleasant. Losing one challenge can set the tone for how a tribe performs, so we need to win.

Lastly, footage of Tremor coming to a stop is shown. It's like he's dead inside.

Tremor: It doesn't matter who's on the other tribe. They will have that feeling of dread when they physical with me.

The three tribes are all stopped, and Jeff decides to get this show on the road.

"Alright. For the first time this season: immunity and reward are up for grabs." What was he planning? "For today's challenge, you'll climb up a tall wall. When everyone hits the mat, you'll work together to roll a large wooden cube to a post. You'll then unwind a ring of keys, use them to unlock a chest full of sandbags, and then transport the sandbags across a balance beam. When you get to the finish, you'll use a slingshot to knock down five targets…"

A little lengthy, but every team has at least one powerhouse.

"The first two teams to knock down their targets win immunity, and a reward that will help you around camp." He pulls out two flints from his pocket. "Flint. If you want to make a fire in no time, this WILL help. The tribe that loses will not only lose out on flint, but will meet me at Tribal Council where you'll lose one player too."

Harsh reality for the losing tribe.

"I'll give you a minute to prepare and we'll get started…"

The three tribes look at the wall ahead of them. The two tribes that win safety would have to aim, balance, and show their strength.

"First immunity of the season! Survivors ready?

.

.

.

"GO!"

The tribes begin scaling that wall…

On Roku, Sonic takes an early lead over everyone else, with Matt and Li Mei making it over. Mac makes it over fourth, Monty fifth. As Claptrap climbs, Sonic heads to the top and yanks him over!

On Toka, Kano and Kabal make light work of the wall. Tremor is up next, the Yoshi's get over, and Kristine gets over last.

On Fatu, Toriel and Gordon work together to hoist Bandana Dee over the wall! Some smart strategy, as the rest of Fatu climbs over.

Contrary to the order of wall climbing, all three tribes are still even as they work together on that cube. Thanks to the power of four out of the six, they take the lead with a quick pace. Toka has the strength of the Black Dragon, so they take second.

That leaves Fatu. Infinite and Toriel do more of the heavy lifting. Luigi practically runs into the cube just to get it to rollover. Bandana Dee tries to push the bottom, but Nelson steps in front of him! That causes Dee to fall flat on his back!

The whole tribe catches this, and while most of them remain silent, Gordon speaks first. "You ok?"

Dee gets to his feet and runs over. "Just tripped I'm so sorry."

"It's fine just help us push."

Seeing the Masterchef Jr. side of him.

Even though they're in last, Fatu persists. While the Waddle Dee pushes, he hears a whisper from a goat lady.

"Don't apologize we're all in this together."

While they try to comeback we hear from Nelson.

Nelson: I knocked the little guy down.

He sighs.

Nelson: I feel like trash.

Meanwhile, Roku rolls their cube onto the post first and get to the rings. Matt goes to do the, but Sonic puts a hand up!

"Check this out!"

He unwinds the keys in a matter of SECONDS, and when he grabs them, he turns to Matt. "Here you go." With that, Matt takes back over and goes for the chest.

On Toka, their cube hits the post and Kabal goes to unwind the keys. It doesn't take him very long as he gets them down and hands the keys to Tremor.

While Matt and Tremor unlock the chests, Fatu gets their cube onto the post! Nelson steps up for this part, and tries to unwind the rings…but his fingers slips multiple times.

(Luigi) "You got it."

(Toriel) "Come on Nelson…"

While he unwinds the key, he stops to pop his wrist. Toriel starts to frown, while Luigi's hands cover his face. Nelson slowing the tribe down must have scared him.

Meanwhile, Tremor's already on the slingshot. Matt sets a sandbag on the slingshot and goes for it, knowing it's a battle between him and a monster.

Nelson FINALLY gets the key for Fatu, hands it over to Luigi, and lets the plumber shine. Sucks for him, because he wouldn't have much time…

Tremor and Matt already have two targets down. Tremor MISSES his third shot, which allows for Matt to swoop in and hit his third target!

"MATT HAS THREE!"

Tremor takes another shot…

"TREMOR HAS THREE!"

Luigi aims for the closest target they have..

"LUIGI HITTING HIS FIRST TARGET…"

Matt aims again…

"FOUR FOR MATT!"

Tremor aims again…

"FOUR FOR TREMOR!"

Luigi takes another shot.

"TWO FOR LUIGI!"

The three aim more, one desperate to comeback and two desperate for a win…

Matt hits his fifth!

"ROKU WINS IMMUNITY!"

Roku jumps up, and Matt rushes over to join his tribe!

"Nice job." Mac says, and the two share a fist bump.

"Roku's safe, we're looking for one more…"

Tremor MISSES his fifth shot, allowing Luigi to hit his third!

"Luigi hits his third, closing the gap between Fatu and Toka!"

Luigi aims for his fourth, while Tremor sets a sandbag on. He takes time scouting his aim..

(Kano) "Stop d*ckin around!"

(Blu) "He's taking his time…"

Luigi hits his fourth target!

"Luigi hits his fourth, he needs ONE more!"

(Toriel) "We believe in you!"

(Bandana Dee) "You can do it!"

The plumber pulls back…

..but it's not his day.

"Tremor hits his fifth!"

Toka cheers, while Luigi fires, and his shot misses. Insult to injury.

"TOKA WINS IMMUNITY!"

The plumber dusts himself off and returns to Fatu.

"The comeback failed guys.." he says, but he's not met with hate. "Don't be sad, you tried your best!" Bandana Dee says, and Luigi just lets out a heavy sigh.

"Appreciate the positivity."

Toka and Roku though? All smiles from them. For good reason.

"Congratulations Toka and Roku, here's your flint…" The tribes are tossed their flint, as Sonic and Kabal race to catch it. The hedgehog catches it first. As the two walk back to their tribes…

"Too slow."

Bold from the hedgehog.

"I'll show you slow." Kabal mutters.

When they reach their mats again, Jeff gets on with it. "Alright. Toka, Roku, you get the night off. Head back to camp, have a good night." The two tribes leave, which means that Fatu are the losers of the challenge. "Fatu..I've got nothin' for ya. Head back to camp, I'll see you tonight." With that, the six Fatu leave the challenge area and make the hike back to camp.

In confession, Luigi looks drained.

Luigi: I had hope but that rock monster flushed it out. Now one of us has gotta go, and I gotta make sure it's not me.

Fatu: Day 3

The Fatu tribe arrives back, Tribal Council weighing on their mind.

Especially on Bandana Dee's. After his fall didn't help at the challenge, he felt the need to clear things up to them.

"I'm sorry for distracting you guys. If i didn't fall, Luigi could have had more time.."

"Don't feel bad, I missed anyway."

More step up to comfort him.

"Everyone makes mistakes. Don't let one ruin your mood." says Toriel.

"I kind of kicked you down. Sorry for that." says Nelson, catching eyes from the whole tribe. "I should have watched where I was going."

Despite the guilt, the waddler still smiles. "Now I'm the one that has to say it's ok…"

That gets laughs from everyone…except for Infinite who's just standing there. Menacingly.

Infinite: He laughs off a mistake…pathetic. Nobody as weak as him gets what they want.

He pulls one of his targets aside, to spew this anti-Nelson message.

"Nelson's a liability. Not only did he slow us down in challenges, but he's quieter than I am. At least I'm talking game with you." he argues. Nelson HAS been quiet even in the edit. Even though Infinite shoots early, maybe it's the right call.

"Yeah..it just sucks to lose first. But there's nothing we can do about it now." The waddle dee says, at least trying to be a realist about the situation.

"Maybe if Nelson didn't recklessly kick you to the side, then Luigi would have hit the target in time and we'd be safe. It's another reason to take him out." Infinite was really dead set on him since the first day. The waddler remains silent, and he actually picks up on this. "..I'll be honest: I'm not voting for you. I'm voting for Nelson. We can vote him off and try again next time."

The waddle dee squints. "Are you sure?"

"There's no point in lying to you."

"..ok. I'll write Nelson tonight."

On the outside, the waddle dee was up for Nelson. In his own head though, Infinite wasn't the most trustworthy either. Just like Nelson, he's on the quieter side too.

Bandana Dee: I don't know a lot about Nelson, so I don't trust him but Infinite..it feels like he's using me. Like he thinks I'm some dumb little guy who's here for an adventure. I LOVE the adventure part but I'm not some follower!

He takes Infinite's plan to Toriel.

"Can I tell you something?"

"What's the matter?"

"People are already being targeted. After i said sorry Infinite talked to me about going for Nelson."

Toriel knew about the sketchiness of Nelson and Infinite, but it was being brought up by someone who has been pleasant around camp. Not to say Gordon wasn't, but he wasn't exactly a teddy bear.

"You aren't alone on distrusting them. Gordon said the same thing to me. Infinite's been after him since we stepped on the beach." she reveals, and the Waddle Dee's brown eyes widen. "I know he doesn't talk much but…what did he do to be target number one?"

Being too quiet for one.

"Maybe they're just natural rivals. Unfortunately in these environments people will target anybody over a small detail, true or not. Infinite tried but he ended up on the chopping block too." She responds.

Toriel: The idea of our tribe stability has left us, but doesn't mean we can't tame the anxiety around this vote. We are still a team right now, and what's best for us is a simple vote..even if there is still good in most people. Unfortunately, there are the exceptions…

One last thought.

Toriel: Gordon isn't. I understand he uses foul language but I cannot control him. People deserves their freedom.

She brings Banada Dee's worries straight to someone she's talked to since Day One: Gordon. Instead of getting upset though, he's calm here.

"It's good we're on the same page. If we get him and Luigi, then we'll be fine." he states.

"So I assume Nelson and Infinite are the targets?"

"Infinite was my first one but then Nelson shat the bed." Blunt as always from the Chef. "Infinite's at least good in challenges."

"I have a different perspective."

"Shoot."

"I understand the challenge impact but what about our morale? Something seems…off about him. I've met people like him, and there's a deeper story." she says. "He's had to have struggles and…unfortunately as they say in the overworld, hurt people, can hurt people."

He blinks. "..well maybe it'll save his arse."

Gordon didn't know about the Underground's system. He may go mad just having it explained to him.

Then, Luigi enters the frame and gets greeted by the woman. "Hi Luigi, we're discussing tonight's vote."

"Who's on the table?"

"Nelson versus Infinite. One's challenge risk and one's a morale risk." Gordon says.

Luigi bobs his head up and down. "Ooooh…so we already campaigning."

"Heavy load's on them."

Luigi: Ooooh those two gotta fight for it tonight! We have a nerd like Nelson, and a brooder like Infinite..thinking about it, it's easy to find out why they don't get along.

Luigi steps out of the conversation, understanding that one of these two guys will go home first. It was time to hear them out.

The first one came sooner than expected, and Nelson steps out from the woods, and onto the walking path. Like Luigi just stumbled into a new battle.

"Hi. Can we talk?"

"Ok.."

The two head off onto the walking path, the plumber knowing exactly what's going to be brought up.

"So I saw you with them at the well. Can you tell me why I'm being considered?"

Here we go.

"Well..you're not around camp very much. It's like you're looking for ido—"

"I'M NOT."

"Let me finish."

"..Ok."

"Mama mia…" Luigi mutters, just like his brother would if someone cut him off like that. "Since you saw us, you know it's you or Infinite tonight. I'll hear you out."

"For starters, he pointed the finger first. And if you want me to be honest? The only thing he's good at is challenged and we still lost. If he's on our team and we lose, what benefit does he bring?" Nelson points out.

"That's true, but that guy may have more support than we think."

"Let's beat him to the punch."

Nelson: I WAS searching for idols, this is Survivor! But apparently camp life is such a big deal that doing your own thing can get you voted out. Infinite does his own thing all the time and my name is still coming up as much as his.

He uses a stick to push a rock forward.

Nelson: This is BS.

Cut to Nelson talking to Gordon, with Luigi standing in the center.

"If you want me to be around camp more, I'll do it. As long as Infinite goes."

"Really?"

"A hundred percent."

Cut to him and Luigi going to Bandana Dee.

"Would you give him a chance?" Luigi asks.

We don't hear Dee's answer.

Last for them, is Toriel.

"Infinite's going to be a problem later. Taking him out now would help us." Nelson says.

"You do have a point."

The scene transitions to quick footage of Infinite, sitting cross legged by himself.

"It will be tonight…"

Or would it?

Infinite: I know my name is coming up. I've obviously thrown Nelson out there, and he has to know eventually. But I'm not scared.

The wind blows, the breeze hitting his body.

Infinite: I have the leg up. I planted the "Nelson" seed in their heads before he even started campaigning. All these Fatu have to do, is pull the trigger.

Tribal Council: Night 3

The six Fatu enter Tribal Council, to spot six stumps, a fire pit in front of it, and Jeff Probst standing there with his hands behind his back. Like a mighty general.

"This is Tribal Council. Dip your torches into the fire. Fire represents your life, and once it's gone, so are you."

The Fatu dip their torches and get seated on their stumps. Two people's lives were on the line, but whoever was leaving was going to be sorely disappointed.

"Welcome to your first Tribal Council of the season. The more you visit, the more anxiety, the paranoia, the uneasiness you will feel. Especially since we're not even close to the merge." Jeff opens.

"You have to know that because I saw that NONE of you were happy after losing. Nelson, what did camp look like after the loss?" he asks. "When we got back, Dee apologized for losing, and there wasn't any chaos. It could have been much worse."

"It's still bad."

"..Yes."

Jeff moves on to the plumber next. "Luigi, do YOU feel like there was chaos at camp?"

"Nobody was throwing a tantrum but people were throwing out names. We're only three days in and-a couple people have it out for each other."

"Is it a matter of gameplay? Or is it personality?"

"Heh heh…both."

Jeff nods.

"Bouncing off of that: Toriel. Does it surprise you to see people going at each other THIS early?"

"I may not be a fan of the cutthroat game, but others are. In order for them to complete the game, they will have to knock others down in this way." she answers.

"Luigi said a couple people were targeting eachother. Who's playing cutthroat?"

The goat monster looks over at her tribe, but before she can even say anything, Infinite steps in.

"Me and Nelson."

The fan just shrugs, caught by Jeff.

"Nelson, he doesn't like you."

"I know. He threw my name out."

"So what are you going to do about it?"

Jeff was holding no pounches against anyone. "I've been campaigning ever since I heard my name was out there. It's all I can do, I can't put my hands on him (Infinite) or else I'd get ejected."

"You'd also lose."

All eyes are on Infinite.

"You slowed us down the most in that challenge. You've even struggled to carry firewood. I'm not a nice guy but this tribe needs to win, and will benefit by cutting you loose." he says.

"Oh we're being real now? YOU don't talk to anyone except for strategy. You're not trustworthy. This tribe needs more teamwork to survive, but you're just a Lone Ranger." Nelson strikes back.

"I'm not trustworthy? For half of our three days here you've been in the woods. Since day one, you've wanted power for yourself: the hidden immunity idol. Saying I'm untrustworthy just makes you a hypocrite. Oh, and we could survive: by keeping me for challenges." Neither male is going down!

"Even if I'm voted out, I'll probably be seeing you at Ponderosa." WOW, a confident claim from Nelson. "So, don't get too cocky."

The two face Jeff, with nothing else left to say until they put pen to paper.

"Gordon…It seems like an easy vote. All you have to do is pick one to leave. Is this decision going to be hard in the long run? Or is this just another night for you?"

"It won't be complicated for me. I write a name down, and send them on their way."

Contrary to what Gordon thinks, Toriel has a different point-of-view.

"It may have consequences. If we keep Nelson, we may be a kuumbaya tribe but he could use an idol against us later. If we keep Infinite, we may win challenges but he could turn against us. Each path we choose has a risk, and it's up to us whether we take it or not."

The host has seen these choices play out before. Now it was Fatu's time to see what this path leads them down.

"Alright. It is time to vote. Nelson, you're up first."

The superfan gets to his feet and heads to the voting booth.

Nelson: I'm not going to be the first boot. My friends will never let me live it down. (Infinite)

Infinite: You can campaign all you want, but it doesn't change the fact you're WEAK. (Nelson)

Gordon: One of you needs to get off your $$ and connect, while the other needs to read the room. (?)

The six Fatu head back to their stumps after the voting is finished. When they're all set, Jeff states those four words: "I'll tally the votes."

He gets the urn while the six wait. Infinite is just watching his every move, while Nelson pushes his glasses up. Jeff sets the urn on his podium..

"If anyone has a hidden immunity idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so." Infinite immediately turns to Nelson, who just shakes his head.

"Nothing on me."

Infinite scoffs and faces Jeff again. It's judgement day.

"Alright, I'll read the votes…"

He removes the lid, and digs in for the parchment. While he does this, Gordon whispers to Luigi..

"Stuck to the plan?"

"..yeah."

He leans away and now..it's time.

"First vote…"

— Infinite.

— Nelson.

— Nelson. Two votes Nelson, one vote Infinite.

— Nelson. Three votes Nelson, one vote Infinite, two votes left…

The fan looks to the sky and closes his eyes. He might have just got him.

.

.

.

"First person voted out of Survivor: Fight for Fiji..Nelson. Bring me your torch."

The fan grabs his torch and heads straight to Jeff. While he leaves, his former tribemates have some final words.

"Nothing personal." (Gordon)

"Enjoy your feast." (Toriel)

"Sorry man." (Luigi)

Bandana Dee just stares at the ground. What's going on in his head?

Nelson just smiles through the pain and sets his torch in the hole.

"Nelson."

Jeff raises his snuffer.

"The tribe has spoken."

He snuffs his torch.

"Time for you to go."

Nelson leaves the Tribal Council area, not saying another word to the Fatu tribe. Unfortunately for him, his time on the show had quickly come to an end.

Once he's out of view, Jeff faces the castaways once again.

"It seems that the anxiety of strength, beat the anxiety of trust. Head back to camp, good night." The five remaining Fatu grab their torches and leave Tribal, a few of them not feeling completely good about the way they voted.

Nelson's Final Words

Nelson: Welp… they agreed to vote for me before Tribal even started. That suuucks hehe..Infinite's attitude should have gotten him votes but knowing my luck that didn't happen. Whatever. I'll see him in a few days anyway.

Ok so Nelson is out 5-1, and praying on Infinite's downfall. He may not have been in as much danger if he didn't end up slowing the tribe down bad by unwinding the keys. While people like Bandana Dee, Luigi, and maybe Toriel weren't happy to keep Infinite around, they may have done this in order to stop a Matsing.

Either that, or some of Infinite's points actually got to them. Who knows? All I do know is that if Infinite keeps trying this "no friends" mindset, it may come back to bite him.

Alright. This first episode took a hot minute and some edits, so I'll take a couple days off. I'm also debating whether Episode 2 should be three parts as well, as I believe the earliest episodes of Survivor need to be longer. I held back with the Maldives and Samoa but I'm genuinely considering it.

With that being said, Ticket out.
