Roku: Night 4

The moon is out, a million stars staring down at the castaways. It's a beautiful night, perfect for a rest.

One problem.

*SNAP*

Claptrap is seen turning to find the source of the noise. Most of the castaways are asleep already, so he carefully pushes himself off the shelter and detects the snapping noise near the fire. He heads to it, and he sees….

..in horror…

Monty Mole snapping branches to keep the fire going. The Mole looks up from the stick to see the robot just staring at him.

"Howdy."

Claptrap: Monty Mole is the most annoying creature I've ever met. He's the most BORING creature I've ever met. He's the most INCONVENIENT creature I've ever met!

First the mole doesn't strategize with him, now THIS. Claptrap's dislike for the mole only grew from there. "..Why can't you just sleep like the rest of us?" The Mole drives his foot into that branch! "I'm just helpin' the tribe. Something wrong with that?"

"…"

"What?"

"..People are trying to sleep. Can you have some common courtesy for the commoners of Roku?" After the bot's question, Monty looks over to see the rest of the tribe sleeping.

"Everyone looks asleep to me…"

The bot turns around to see all the sleeping Roku. Nobody moving a muscle.

"Whatever. Just don't do it again."

The bot rolls back, and the Mole raises a brow. What he did definitely disrupts sleep, but to the mole it's the way he said it…

Monty: That robot could have had some manners and say "please." I'll just say I'm not diggin' holes with him when I get outta here.

The bot rolls back to the shelter and plops himself on there. Meanwhile, one hedgehog opens an eye…

Sonic: Claptrap and Monty just aren't meant to be friends. At this rate Monty's going to push him into the fire.

Roku: Day 5

That small talk seeps into tomorrow morning. Clap is on the walking path, and the first two people he sees are Little Mac and Li Mei.

"Greetings, Claptrap." Mei says, but the robit has no time for small talk, and gets straight to the point. "Can we talk?"

Those three words bring Mac and Mei back to the reality of last night. "What's up?" Mac asks, and Claptrap lets it all out.

"Ok so Monty was snapping wood when I was trying to sleep, so I go up to him and politely say 'hey could you stop' and he goes 'everyone looks asleep to me.' He's just out to antagonize me isn't he?"

That catches the boxer off guard. "Don't say that. I'm sure he just didn't know what he was doing."

"Clearly…"

Wrong choice of words, Mac.

"Don't you think this drama is going to hurt you too?" Mac questions, and Li Mei adds onto that. "Everyone's looking for a reason to vote someone out this early, don't give people that reason."

Claptrap lets out a mechanical huff.

Li Mei: His disdain for someone he just met is unhealthy.

Despite her advice, The robot still doesn't have all his thoughts aired out. "Ok, if I stop campaigning can you promise me ONE thing? Just ONE teensy weensy little thing?"

Mac goes deadpan. "What?"

"Vote out Monty. I know Matt and Sonic might not want to, but please…I'm valuable, I PROMISE."

That's not what Mac and Mei were expecting today. But, they didn't want their names thrown out yet. "We'll do our best." Mei assures him, and Mac adds onto that: "Better: by tomorrow, Monty won't be here anymore."

That's enough to please the robot. "Affirmative. Tomorrow, Monty Mole will be taken out…and WE can control the tribe." Wait what? "Matt and Sonic are lovely but if any of us want a chance to win we should just go ahead and make a final three."

The silence is only five seconds, but feels like it's gone on for hours. "Huh? Sound enticing to you?"

Little Mac: He's bold to just throw our hardest worker under the bus, AND then be like "oh yeah, final three." Monty practically feeds us, you'd think someone like Matt or Sonic would feed us but Monty just takes care of everyone. And no I'm not taking the final three. It's way too soon to be making deals like that, allegiances can change like THAT.

He tries, and fails to snap his fingers. He looks at his hand.

Little Mac: That flopped…just like Claptrap's game. On the flip side, at least I'm not leaving first!

Li Mei speaks up first. "It is. We need numbers in this game so we might as well take what we can get." Mac slowly nods. "Yeeaaah, I like those guys too but we can't let them control everything." These two put on their BS Boots and got to work.

"Perfect!" Claptrap shouts, before spinning around. "Remember: Monty." He speeds away on his wheel, while the two Roku just watch him leave. When he's out of view, they IMMEDIATELY face each other.

"I don't trust him." Mac says, and Mei can't help but agree. "It wouldn't be wise to write Monty down."

"We're on the same page."

Li Mei: Claptrap is puzzling. He tried to say Matt and Sonic are big threats. In the future they may be but we've just started this game. He's going way too fast for a slower paced portion of the game.

Fatu: Day 5

The first sight on Fatu is Toriel and Gordon. Before this, Infinite brushed off her attempts to connect, but she wasn't willing to totally give up yet. There wasn't an Asgore on the island.

"I attempted to get through to Infinite, but he doesn't seem to want my help. Still, there's more to him than I thought.." she says, and Gordon shakes his head. "I get you wanna be the Mom of the camp but not everyone can be saved by love."

"He seems to lack it, that's why I'm trying to give him some." That explanation doesn't sit right with the Chef. "Maybe he's just what we thought: a loner."

"I wouldn't dismiss him like that. I understand he's not the greatest to have around camp but there has to be something wrong with him. Something we can help with. Then after that, maybe we can see if he's truly friend or foe." the goat explains, but Gordon still isn't changing his perspective like that.

"If he keeps brushing you off, maybe it's not worth it. If there's some deep meaning to it then I know what it is." he says, and that doesn't sit right with the goat either. "You two barely interact, are you sure you do?"

"I've been around types like him before. You want the truth Toriel? He's insecure. He looks down on others so he can run away from his problems. Some talk more than others but that's still how it is." Gordon's really tearing into him. "Even if there's a reason he acts like this it doesn't change the fact he's got a selfish attitude."

Gordon: Toriel's the mom of the tribe, and even though almost everyone likes her, she still has her flaws. Infinite is an egg that can't be cracked because he doesn't want to be. Even if he DID have a change of heart, five weeks is too little time. Maybe more for him.

Even though Toriel's been trying to get to know him better…she knew Gordon had a point. What if she keeps him around, over Bandana Dee or Luigi and nothing changes? She would surely regret it.

"..It makes sense but that's harsh, don't you think?" she asks.

"I know it's harsh but he hasn't shown ANYONE an inch of kindness. He was only spared last time because Nelson screwed the challenge. This time, I doubt he has anywhere to go." Gordon responds, digging in some more. "If we go to Tribal, those two (Dee/Luigi) won't vote either of us out. He's on limited time if you wanna break through to him you've gotta be quick about it."

The brutal honesty from the Chef..yeesh..then again that's what he's known for.

"If he has to leave next, I will vote him out. Don't be surprised if I still talk to him though. Nobody deserves isolation." Toriel states, and the Chef gets her point. He's been on reality TV before, and isolating someone leads to misfortune. So: he agrees with her. "If it helps, I'll talk to him too."

"Glad to see your spite doesn't get in the way."

"Surprise to me too."

Toriel: Even though Gordon's not trying to work with Infinite, I'm glad to hear he's not shutting him out. There are warm hearts on Fatu, and I believe that we will be stronger because of it. There may be times where we have to turn on each other, but I'm enjoying the present.

Meanwhile, Bandana Dee and Luigi are just laying on the sand. Almost no energy in them AT ALL.

The silence is interrupted when Luigi's stomach growls.

"Ooh..I could go for some pasta." he says, and Dee exhales. "You ever tried a Maxim Tomato before?" The plumber turns to his tribe mate. "What does that have to do with spaghetti?"

"You could throw it in there. Tastes like…sweet Salsa." Now you've done it Dee. "Salsa.." The Italian's mouth starts to water. "This food talk is getting to me."

Luigi: When I'm on adventures with Mario, we talk about pasta in our downtime. Bandana Dee is like-a Mario, except he's shorter and fatter than he is.

The food talk continues and just drives their hunger even more.

"A pizza burger, with a side of chicken…that's a dream come true." Bandana Dee is thirsty for some of the combinations. Who knows how a pizza on a burger would taste?!

"Ice cream cone, where the cones made out of noodles, and there's tomato sauce inside.." Luigi is a pasta fiend, somebody come get him.

"I couldn't do that but..i could do a brownie cone, with chocolate chip inside." Bandana Dee about to kick off a chocolate versus pasta debate.

"What about hot dogs? Would you put tomato sauce on there or chocolate syrup?"

"Tomatoes work on a hot dog, because it's a hot dog. Pasta doesn't work for an ice cream cone, it doesn't mix."

Let the food wars begin.

Bandana Dee: I love hanging out with Luigi but his takes on food are…not for me. He'll put tomato sauce on ANYTHING. Brownies, cookies, his OWN wedding cake I jus—I'm baffled!

"But would you put chocolate on a cheeseburger?" Luigi asks, trying to gauge the waddler.

"No THEN I'd say Tomato sauce."

"Then you say Tomato Sauce is better, point stands."

Bandana Dee chuckles. This debate is still going on.

Luigi gets a confessional with two words only:

Luigi: Pasta better.

Toka: Day 5

There's a breeze moving through the beach. At first glance, there would be a sense of calm. Wherever the Black Dragon went, that may not be the case.

Kano, Kabal, and Tremor walk down the shore, engaging in conversation. What's it about?

"Those dino are gonna be dangerous. We still agree to cut them up yeah?" Kano asks, causing Tremor to turn to him. "I believe nothing's changed." he responds, but the third member of the group is a little concerned with someone else.

"Someone could screw us over. There's an odd turtle out." Kabal says.

"We can just pick off Kristine when we want to." Kano, cocky as usual. "If she tries to pull a fast one we just get the last Yoshi, and use 'with me or against me.' Works without fail." While it is a smart strategy, it also relies on how emotional the Yoshi could be.

"She's in my sights. If she intends to be the deciding vote then she will likely come to me." Tremor with what could be his best read yet. "In the event she does, I will tell you everything. That's not an empty sentence, it's a full promise."

Kano smirks. "Attaboy."

Tremor: The way I see it there are two factions: Black Dragon and the Yoshi. To them, I'm in the Black Dragon. I wasn't saying "no" to an alliance, an early one benefits me. Yet, I still need to explore my options. Kristine doesn't have a concrete alliance, she believes the same. She's not the only one who's in the middle on this tribe. We must work together to decide which faction will win.

ALRIGHT! So, this episode reasserts tribe dynamics. On Toka, Tremor is still leaning towards the middle, so it looks like he's not 100% Black Dragon. On Roku, it may come down to Claptrap and Monty. Also looks like Little Mac/Li Mei are slowly strengthening their relationship. On Fatu we got some character moments, like Toriel trying to include everyone, Gordon reading her "mom" type game, and Bandana Dee and Luigi debating over food.

The island gets boring sometimes.

Anyways, you know the drill next chapter. Ticket out.
