Hikaru was panicking. Internally mind you, but still panicking nonetheless. And he was well justified in doing so because in the last what? Ten? Twenty minutes? He didn't know how much time had passed, but within whatever time he had: ran away from his family, saved a baby, watched the world lose its color and freeze, and now found himself in an unfamiliar apartment. Throw in the fact that he was still in a foreign country judging from what he could see outside, he had valid cause for panic.

"Okay Hikaru, now's not the time to lose your head, just do what anyone would do, calm down and gather information," he muttered to himself.

"Oh! You're awake!"

Hikaru let out a tiny yelp as he whirled around to see where the voice came from. He was about to question who they were, but the question died in his throat as he examined the boy in front of him. He looked about his age and his face was mostly unremarkable, but the thing that caught Hikaru's attention was the person's eyes and hair. They were a brilliant shade of green that reminded him of a valley, even more so it all looked natural.

Hikaru was snapped out of his analysis by the uncomfortable look on the green haired boy's face. Why did he look so nervous? Was he doing someth- oh wait he'd been staring at the boy silently for a good minute.

"Sorry about that! That must have made you uncomfortable." Hikaru said hastily as he held out a hand. "I'm Hikaru Genesis, but please just call me Hikaru."

Izuku was somewhat surprised at the perfect Japanese coming from the boy in front of him but nonetheless he took the boy's hand and introduced himself. "I-I'm Izuku Midoriya. I kinda found you in the trash last night so I brought you here". Izuku quickly explained. Hikaru blinked a few times as he registered what he just heard.

"Wait, you found me in the trash?"

"Yup. Specifically in the alleyway by our building after you fell out of the sky."

A few moments of silence passed between the two boys before Hikaru coughed awkwardly.

"I fell out of the sky?"

"Uh, yeah, you see I saw this flash of light outside and when I went to check it out I saw you fall into the alley. Admittedly I'm surprised you aren't more hurt!"

"That's weird, last I checked I was on a sidewalk…" Hikaru trailed off as he tried to figure out what was going on. He wasn't able to ponder for long as it was interrupted by the telltale sound of stomach growling.

Hikaru's face gained a pink tint as Izuku tilted his head. "I guess you haven't eaten for awhile, so up for some breakfast?"

Hikaru gave a slightly embarrassed nod and they both set off for the kitchen.

A few moments later Inko Midoriya woke up and walked into the room. She blinked a few times at the scene in front of her. Her son and the boy he'd brought in last night were casually sitting at the table eating some cereal as though it was a normal morning. They both took notice of her, Izuku happily greeted her while the other boy opted to give her an awkward wave. Inko was not prepared for this, and after the events of last night she was expecting a far more tense morning atmosphere. She had spent a couple minutes laying in bed after waking up, worrying about how she was going to proceed before finally working up the courage to confront things head on. So to say she was undergoing some whiplash would be a fair assessment.

Inko decided to just go with the flow and just joined the two boys at the table, and she hoped the current atmosphere would make understanding the boy's situation a bit easier. "So if I may ask, who are you and where did you come from?" Inko delicately asked, deciding to get straight to the point.

Hikaru was a bit surprised at the direct question but he could respect not skirting around the issue. "Well my name is Hikaru Genesis, just call me Hikaru, and I was on a family business trip and vacation here from America, as for how I got here I'm not completely sure". Hikaru trailed off as he debated telling these people about that incident with the stroller. He eventually decided he might as well, they haven't shown any hostility towards him after all and there's a chance they may know about what happened there. "It probably has something to do with that kid I saved".

"Kid you saved?" Izuku asked, slightly baffled. "Mind telling us a bit more about that?"

Hikaru nodded. "Sure, so basically I was wandering the city at the time." Inko was a bit concerned why he was in the city by himself but that was a question for later. "As I was thinking of heading back a runaway stroller flew past me so I ended up going after it, I was able to catch up to it before it got run over, but then things got a bit weird."

"Weird? Weird how?" Izuku pondered, in the superpowered society they currently lived in, what was considered weird had shifted dramatically. Most things could be explained away as a quirk of sorts, unless it had to deal with something incredibly reality breaking.

Hikaru continued his story. "So when I went to check on the kid, I noticed they had a bit of a strange appearance, then something happened to their eyes? I'm not completely sure but the area around me had suddenly gone black and white, and next thing I know I'm suddenly jerked forward and black out. You guys probably know what happened next."

Listening to the tale, Izuku's mind was already racing with possibilities but he needed some more details before he could confirm anything. "Hikaru, do you mind answering some questions for me?" Hikaru was slightly confused but complied. "First off, you said this kid had a strange appearance? How so?"

"Well, their skin was really pale, their hair was black and silver, and strangely enough it looked like it transitioned into those colors. Oh, they also had yellow eyes."

"Huh, physical features like that seem normal enough to me, plus you have similar hair with how it transitions into red. So why do you think that is so strange?"

"Because…it isn't natural?" Hikaru internally winced at how bad that sounded. "Actually for the both of you your hair is kinda weird as well, and I'm well aware of the irony of my statement because of my own hair," Hikaru quickly stated while rubbing a strand of his hair before continuing. "It's just…traits like that are usually associated with those who are born with powers, so they're not all that common."

The Midoriyas looked confusedly at his statement before Izuku continued his questioning. "Well you also said something happened to the kid's eyes before you blacked out? What happened to them?"

"I think they developed a sort of clockwork symbol? Kinda like something out of an anime."

Izuku was beginning to gain a clearer picture of what was happening, obviously Hikaru had been hit by a quirk, but a clockwork symbol, and they way he'd been talking? If his suspicions were correct Hikaru's situation may be more dire than they initially thought, but he needed one more answer to confirm things. "Hikaru. What year is it?"

The room went silent for a moment before Hikaru gave Izuku an incredulous look, and slowly answered.

"2022?"

Izuku winced, while Inko gave the boy a concerned look. Izuku quickly pulled out his phone and faced the screen towards Hikaru, who's confusion soon turned into horror as he examined the displayed date. "Sorry Hikaru, I think you may have traveled about 200 years into the future when you got hit by that quirk." The room was completely silent as the reality of the situation dawned on them, a moment later Hikaru shot up, excusing himself to go to the bathroom, he needed a moment to fully process everything.

As he left Inko quickly turned to her son. "Time travel?! Are you sure about this Izuku?" She asked in a hushed whisper.

Izuku looked grim as he responded. "Sorry mom, but this is the only possible explanation, unless he's from some alternate dimension where quirks never became the dominant trait, and honestly that's a lot harder to deal with than time travel".

Inko knew her son was right but the situation was still more than she initially bargained for, she let out a sigh as she thought about what to do now. Hand him over to the police and let them deal with the situation? That seemed unnecessarily cruel to Hikaru, and she had a feeling the police would find their story farfetched anyway. She frowned as she looked towards the bathroom. When Hikaru left she was able to briefly see the face of a child who was more lost and alone than they had any right to be. Maybe it was her motherly instincts kicking in or something else, she wasn't sure as she proposed an idea.

"Maybe he could stay with us for the time being".

Izuku's eyes widened at the proposal. "Are you sure Mom?"

"I'm certain. We have a guest bedroom that isn't being used anytime soon, and it's not like money will be a major issue." The checks her husband would send each month would be more than enough to support them even with Hikaru thrown into the equation.

"Well, I'm glad. I was just about to suggest that he stay with us too."

With that a plan was decided upon, they just hoped that they wouldn't come to regret it. A moment later Hikaru walked back into the room. The Midoriyas had expected him to look more crestfallen as anyone would be in his situation, instead they were surprised at the calm and almost resigned look on his face as he sat back down. After a moment of silence he spoke slowly. "So…what now for me?"

The Midoriyas were quickly snapped out of their silence at the question. "Well Hikaru, we were just discussing how you could stay with us for the time being at least if you want to." Hikaru had a face of bewilderment at the offer, they were letting him live with them? But they met literally this morning. Wouldn't it be smarter to give him up to someone more qualified to handle him? The logical aspect of Hikaru's mind spun in confusion until it finally decided on the more unrealistic yet likely reason: they were just nice people.

"Well, I wouldn't mind staying with you two, if you'll have me that is." Hikaru said with an uncertain look. The Midoriyas only smiled. "Of course we'll have you. Why do you think we made the offer in the first place".

Hikaru smiled. "Thank you and you too Izuk- I mean Midoriya, sorry about that."

"No,no it's fine." Izuku quickly said. "You can call me Izuku."

Hikaru briefly looked surprised before accepting the offer. "Okay, thank you Izuku."

The group sat in silence for a few more moments. "So time travel…I'm in the future right? So what's going on now? Are there like superheroes or villains and stuff?" Hikaru asked jokingly, breaking the silence.

"Oh yeah, there are plenty of superheroes around, they're amazing! The villains though…not so much". Izuku answered with complete seriousness.

Hikaru only looked at him with concern. "Uh, Izuku, I was only joking."

"And I'm being serious, there are lots of heroes and villains around."

Hikaru's eyes narrowed in doubt before slowly responding. "Okay…then how about you show me one right now?" The moment the words came out of his mouth Inko could only shake her head with an amused smile, the poor boy had no idea what he just unleashed.

In an instant Izuku was upon the dual haired boy. "You want me to show you a hero? Well come with me I'll tell you all about the greatest hero to exist, All Might!"

"Who the hell is All Might? Who would pick a name like-" Hikaru quickly froze at the blank stare Izuku was giving him.

Izuku spoke. "Who the hell is All Might? WHO THE HELL IS ALL MIGHT!" Izuku quickly recomposed himself before giving an innocent smile to the startled Hikaru. "I need to open your eyes to the greatness of All Might, it seems. And all other heroes for good measure." Shivers went Hikaru's spine at Izuku's words, he felt like he'd just broken a taboo of some kind.

Izuku suddenly grabbed Hikaru and dragged him away to his room despite the boy's protests. Inko watched the two boys leave with a small smile, she just hoped Izuku wouldn't take too long, he still had school to attend that day.

In Izuku's room Hikaru was for once being quickly overwhelmed by the stream of information he was receiving from the All Might fanboy. He had not expected to be sat inside a bedroom that was essentially an All Might sanctum, being put through an impromptu All Might history crash course, of course as interesting as it was he had to put a stop to it. "Wait!" He interrupted Izuku who was reciting some speech the hero had made. "From the way you're talking this guy sounds amazing, but you're just telling me about him, not showing me".

Izuku quickly blushed at the tangent he'd gone on and more importantly he hadn't exactly shown any proof of his hero's exploits, luckily enough he had just the video that was more than enough proof. He quickly went to his computer and pulled up a specific video he had bookmarked. "Hikaru come watch, this was All Might's debut and my inspiration." Hikaru moved towards the screen, and quickly gained a look of shock at the destruction being shown. He kept watching as an absolute unit of a man appeared on screen carrying dozens of citizens to safety, all with a wide smile on his face as he made his proclamation.

"I am here!"

Eventually the video ended and Izuku turned to look at the boy before quickly stifling a laugh. The look on the boy's face was similar to that of a surprised electric mouse. The boy in question quickly shook his head before turning to Izuku with an awe struck look. "Well you were right after all then!" Izuku nodded to himself proudly, glad that he was able to show someone the magnificence that was heroes and All Might. He was about to explain exactly the specifics regarding heroes when his mother called out.

"Izuku! Don't forget you still have school!" Oh, he lost track of time.

"Uh sorry Hikaru! I need to leave, I'll talk to you later!"

Hikaru was able to get a quick goodbye out before Izuku charged out of the room, stopping briefly to grab his stuff and bid his mother goodbye before leaving out the door.

Hikaru walked back out into the living room where Inko was shaking her head at her son's antics. She turned to him with a smile. "Well then I guess I should show you where you'll be staying for the time being". She walked back into the hallway with Hikaru about to follow behind but he paused as he looked out at the morning sun. Just what had his life turned into? Time travel? Quirks? Heroes? He shook his head before following after his new caretaker.
