Immunity/Reward Challenge: Day 6

"Come on in!"

The Toka tribe enters first, winning on their mind.

Tremor: You would think i want to lose to take control earlier, but it's too early. It's better to win at least three challenges before throwing.

The Roku tribe enters next. Monty is panting..maybe the works getting to him.

Li Mei: While we have two easy choices, losing now would make it harder for a Roku to win. After the easy options are gone, who's next?

Lastly, the Fatu tribe enters, down by one.

"Get a look at the new Fatu tribe, Nelson voted out last Tribal Council."

That doesn't shock anyone, with Kabal getting to say his piece.

Kabal: You can leave early for any reason at all. You just gotta give these people one. He gave them three.

The tribes stand on their mat, ready for Jeff.

"While I'd love to explain the challenge like I always do, things will be a little different this time. We'll be doing sit outs first. Roku, Toka, you have six, sit one person out." With that, the two tribes get in huddles to discuss who leaves.

Toka leaves their huddle much quicker. While they get ready to tell Jeff, things are getting interesting in the Roku huddle.

"A little pain never hurt anybody." Monty whispers, but his tribe isn't having it.

"You're GOING to screw us over, sit out." Claptrap says, and that gets Monty's daggers. "You have one wheel why shouldn't YOU sit out?"

"Because I'm not tired. You are. YOU are!"

Matt cuts in. "Guys, guys, you're both sexy but can we quiet down?" They obey his orders, and he gets down to business. "Monty, we love you but you gotta sit out man. Just this once." All eyes are on the mole now..

"Ok. Just once."

"Thanks."

Roku leaves their huddle, settled on their pick. "Alright. Toka, Roku, who are you sitting out?"

"Kristine." from Red.

"Monty." from Matt.

"Alright, head to the Sitout bench."

Kristine and Monty make their way to the bench, and have a seat. Not without a little conversation though.

"Elements getting to you?"

"No I just worked too hard."

"Worked too hard?" The koopa mouths.

The focus though, goes back onto the fifteen castaways actually competing. "Immunity is back up for grabs. For today's challenge, you will climb THIRTY steps of stairs. Then, you'll step across a narrow balance beam, with five bags tied down. One of each tribe member will have to grab a bag. Once all the bags are collected and untied, three people will complete a fire puzzle."

Not super complicated but sure to give some a workout.

"Wanna know what you're playin' for?"

It's an enthusiastic YES from the castaways.

"Pillows. Blankets. Covers. All the comfort you need.."

The castaways could use some too. Sleeping on a bamboo bed for five weeks has to be exhausting.

"I'll give you a minute to prepare, and we'll get started…"

After preparation, the tribes look up at the staircase above them. It was going to be a race for an advantage.

"Second immunity of the season. Survivors ready? GO!"

Sonic takes off, pushing past those stairs like they are nothing! Matt follows behind, Little Mac and Li Mei are neck and neck and Claptrap…

..is just staring at the path ahead of him.

"…My only weakness. The devious nature of production has revealed itself."

Little Mac turns around. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm always at odds."

"WHAT?"

All five members of each tribe has to get past the stairs. But due to his troubles, it's looking like a Toka lead as all five members are ahead of them. It didn't matter how good the rest of the Roku was at this troubling task.

As for Fatu, they are making steady progress. Luigi puts his time in the Olympics to use, leading the way to his tribe. He's overtaken by Infinite who, as usual, ignores him. Gordon, Toriel, and Dee are behind but keeping up.

Anybody can keep up when one of the castaways has trauma.

"Curses.."

Sonic, Matt, and Li Mei are standing at the top of the stairs. Mac is about to make it four, but the tribe sees that one hasn't even started yet.

"LETS GO CLAP! WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!" Not the nicest thing to come out of the hedgehogs mouth but he has a point. As for Matt, he's seen enough. "Somebody's gotta help him."

Mac immediately turns around and sprints back down, trying not to trip over himself.

All the Toka reach the top.

"Toka, you're good, get to work on that balance beam!"

While Kabal goes for a bag, ALL the Fatu reach the top!

"Fatu, you're good, there's a balance beam right ahead!"

While those tribes take on the balance beam and the bags, Roku is still behind and Jeff isn't letting that go.

"Roku in dead last! What a fall from grace!"

Salt in the wound.

When Mac gets to Claptrap, he LIFTS the bot onto his shoulders and Claptrap him up like he's lightweight!

"Look at the STRENGTH of Mac! That might be a game changer!

Roku has comments of their own.

"Gotta hand it to him." (Matt)

"GO MAC..and Clap!" (Sonic)

While Mac tries to get Roku back in the challenge, TOKA has four out of five bags collected, with . Meanwhile Luigi gets the fourth bag for Fatu, leaving these two tribes neck and neck for first.

"It's Toka versus Fatu, and Roku still has a chance to get back in this…"

Blu from Toka and Bandana Dee from Fatu have to balance the furthest to get their bag. While they make their way over, the Roku tribe gets to the beam. Li Mei steps out first to retrieve the first bag, but Matt taps her shoulder.

"Clap has one wheel, he needs to balance the least."

"Somebody call me?"

The bot faces the beam, and rolls a short distance to the first bag. While they get to the beam, Toka and Fatu are dealing with the puzzle.

Blu reaches Toka's last bag first, Dee reaches second. They untie the bag and speed to the end of the beam!

"It's all coming down to a puzzle!"

Roku continues to get work done on the beam.

"Roku is back, but they are at a SIZEABLE disadvantage!"

That they are, because Kano and Red are on the puzzle for Toka, while Luigi and Toriel are on for Fatu.

Given their lead earlier, Kano and Red are keeping it, already halfway done. Red picks up a couple pieces, and his partner directs traffic. On Fatu, Luigi and Toriel are working to catch up, at the 1/4th mark.

Sonic gets Roku's fifth bag, and joins them next to the puzzle. The tribe knows they don't have much time, so Matt and Li Mei get started on the puzzle.

Unfortunately for them, one tribes finished already…

"TOKA WINS IMMUNITY!"

Red wipes sweat off his big nose while Kano wraps his arm around him.

"We killed it mate!"

"Sure did!"

With Toka safe, it's now just Fatu versus Roku with one puzzle left.

Matt and Li Mei do their best when it comes to the bottom pieces, blasting through those. However, Fatu's almost done.

It was over the moment Claptrap needed carrying.

"FATU WINS IMMUNITY!"

The relief washing over Fatu is immense. Gordon slams an invisible rag onto the floor, Bandana Dee hops for joy, and Infinite finally has something to say.

"Hmph."

Luigi looks for a high five, and Toriel just pauses. The pause can't be ignored. "In the kingdom we call it a high five."

"I may have lived Underground but I know what that is."

"Ooh..My fault."

"You're fine."

Roku though, is not happy to be going to Tribal THIS early. They could have sent Fatu packing twice in a row. Just wasn't their day.

The three tribes get together, as it's time for Jeff to address them.

"Congratulations to Toka and Fatu, comfort is waiting for you back at camp. Enjoy the night off." With that dismissal, the two winning tribes head back to camp and await the comfort of their bedding. Jeff focuses on the losers.."Roku…I've got nothin' for ya. Head back to camp, see you tonight."

A cruel fate for the Roku tribe. First they lose a reward, now they have to vote one of their own out.

Monty's silent for a few seconds in confession.

Monty Mole: …Clapper's gotta go.

Claptrap: I know KNOW KNOW that mole's gonna bury me for what just happened! He can take his best shot but I'm gonna fire back and use everything against him!

Roku: Day 6

The six Roku arrive at camp, taking their first L of the season.

Li Mei tends to the fire, dinner a necessity so they don't get hangry and tear each other's heads off. One mole sits in the shelter, and looks around at the scene before him. Matt and Sonic sitting on a log, Claptrap rolling next to him.

Why was he doing this?

Monty: Clap was so bad Mac had ta pick him up like he was a baby. Everyone saw it happen. I wanted ta just rip off the bandaid. You know what I mean?

"Can I just be honest?"

All eyes go to the mole, nobody vocally against honesty. He turns to Claptrap.

"After what I saw at that challenge, I'm voting for you. We can't keep losing." The robot just stares at him, contemplating if he actually just said that to his face.

"ME?"

"We gotta keep the tribe strong. It's not personal it's just gameplay. That's all."

"…."

"I mean if we wanna make a group decision now and just relax for the rest of the day, then we could just talk it out now."

The last thing Claptrap wants to do is talk it out. "You naive imbecile." All eyes fall to him now. "Don't take it personal? DON'T TAKE I—YOU want ME out! Why would you say that to my face?! What do you accomplish besides looking like an idiot!"

Bot's going in but the moles not just taking that. "I'm just being honest you don't have to lash out at me."

"Am I supposed to sit down like a good dog as you seal my fate? This isn't 2000 anymore bucko!"

"Did he just say bucko?" Sonic asks.

"Shhh.." Matt responds.

Clap and Monty don't care about that side comment, it's about one on one.

Claptrap: Monty Mole is the stupidest animal I have ever met in my life! You NEVER tell someone they're going home these days! I don't know what he thought was going to happen! I was going to say "yes sir" and move on, that's not how it works!

His anger is put into the argument, like a weapon. "If you're just telling people to their face they're gone, then how is ANY alliance supposed to trust you? I would never do that because i'm not a wildcard like you!"

"You're just makin' yourself a target."

"I'm ALREADY a target!"

Valid point from the robot. Although, both players are still not handling this very well.

"If you wanna go campaign, do it, but I just think that your challenge performance cost ya. We can't keep losing."

"YOU. SAT. OUT."

Mac covers his mouth. He knew Clap and Monty already had some tension but it was coming to its peak.

Little Mac: It was a matter of time. They were both going to let their guard down eventually and now? They're going for the knockout blow.

After the fight fizzles out, later in the day Mac meets with his number one in Li Mei, discussing what to do since two targets were kind enough to line themselves up.

"I wanted to vote for Clap but Monty's wild for just calling him out like that." Mac notes, and lucky for him his number one is on the same page. "Monty may work hard but he's a wildcard who will be hard to navigate this game with."

"We don't need Monty blowing up our games later because of his honesty. It's a double edged sword." Mac points out, which is a true read on the mole.

"Reminder that we may have a final three with Claptrap. If we are thinking long term, maybe voting out Monty will be good for us."

"We could take advantage of that.."

As it turns out they aren't the only ones discussing Claptrap versus Monty, because Matt and Sonic are having the same conversation.

"We wouldn't have to pick if a mole didn't air everything out..BUT it's the most fun they've ever had out here." That makes Matt shake his head. "I respect Monty at camp but if we're talkin game, he's gotta go sooner rather than later."

"He's more loyal to us though…" the hedgehog points out.

"Even if he is, he's gonna hurt us if he keeps telling the truth. Yeah he old school but how far is he gonna take this?" Matt questions as a counter.

"..We gotta get another party."

Sonic: Tonight could have been a chill night, but we have the two biggest wildcards in the history of the world on this tribe.

Cut to Matt, Sonic, Mac, and Li Mei all together. With the power of this foursome, they will decide who ends up going home.

"I say we just get rid of Claptrap. He held us back today, and plays too hard." The hedgehog says, turning to Matt. "Didn't you say Monty threw him under because of how quick the strategy started?"

"Mmhm. That's just shady. All of us have probably been doing strategy but not as hard as him." True words from Matt. "Then that just leaves Monty…"

"He and the robot couldn't be any different than they already are. Our issues with Monty is how his honesty will backfire." Li Mei explains. "Imagine if we swap and he pledges loyalty to another tribe. The odds are, we will be getting screwed over."

"He's not going to keep up with us in strategy. We're moving faster already while he's going at a snails pace." Sonic responds. "But while we have him, we could use his strength. Claptrap has all the cons but none of the pros." That hedgehog's going hard against the robot, but the boxer still doesn't have much faith in the mole.

"Monty has cons we need to look out for. What if he slips up and reveals something he shouldn't? Claptrap could do the same thing but he knows what the modern era's like. Monty's just not predictable." Mac questions, and that causes Matt to jump back in.

"Neither's Claptrap."

Mac rests a hand on his cheek. "This is taking longer than I thought…"

Matt: Monty hasn't helped himself but the fact they're defending Claptrap tells me they know something I don't..but I can't just turn on them. Too soon. We gotta decide who's going, and if it's gotta be a robot and a mole, so be it.

Cut to the Mii speaking with the mole in question.

"I know things didn't go well at camp but can you promise me somethin'?" The mole asks, and Matt is all ears.

"What?"

"Keep your word. Make sure Claptrap leaves tonight. If you keep your word, I'll keep mine and be by your side. It's the only thing I can do since you'd be saving me." A pledge of loyalty.

"You're safe. You've got my word on that."

Matt: I'm thinking about when the Roku's eventually split. Monty's a number for me, and since he just gave me his word, I gotta trust that. The only roadblock is will Mac and Mei trust it too?

Cut to the boxer speaking with the robot.

"It's Monty right? PLEASE tell me it's Monty!" Claptrap exclaims, and the boxer keeps him calm.

"Look man, you got nothing to worry about tonight. Monty's too big a risk to keep around."

Claptrap breaths in relief. Even though he and Monty have a 50/50 shot at going home.

"Thank you…because I didn't come out here to be some boring second boot."

"Hey at least you're not the first right?"

Little Mac: Claptrap's still on the table. I had to carry him on my back once, and I don't think I want to do it again. But, if we're thinking long term..there's two duos in the voting bloc. Maybe I'll have to weaken Matt and Sonic now before it's too late.

Tribal Council: Night 6

The six Roku enter and spot six stumps, a fire pit in front of it, and Jeff Probst standing there with his hands behind his back, ready for another go.

"This is Tribal Council. Dip your torches into the fire. Fire represents your life, and once it's gone, so are you."

The Roku dip their torches and get seated on their stumps. Two are on the line, but only one will leave.

"Welcome to your first Tribal Council out of many. If you thought voting someone out was tricky now, just wait until you have eleven players with you." Oh the humanity. Roku didn't know how messy the other players could be, but it's best for them to focus on taking out one tonight.

"First I just gotta talk about the challenge. Not to shade anyone, but MAC.. you carried Claptrap on. your. back. How did it feel, even in defeat, that you were able to do that?" Jeff asks.

"I've lost before, it didn't kill my mood, and the same goes here. It was a heroic moment for me but it's also just another hurdle to jump over." Mac admits.

"Claptrap, do YOU think this is a hurdle?"

"Oh it's a big one for me! Especially since a certain brown mole you may know decided to tell me I'm on the chopping block." All eyes are on Monty once again after getting put on blast like that.

"OK…" Jeff focuses on the mole. "Monty..WHY did you do that?"

"After he failed us I thought it was obvious. I wasn't gonna insult his intelligence. It's the right thing to do." The mole explains.

"Is the 'right thing' to do necessarily the most strategic? Some casts LIKE the old school mindset, while maybe THIS one isn't a big fan of that."

"Even if they aren't, it can't change who I am. I'm not a liar. I don't stab people in the back. If I have a problem it's going to your face." The mole admits. That causes Sonic to lean over to Matt and start whispering. Matt whispers back inaudibly and the two halt their whispers.

Not before getting caught.

"Hold that thought Monty…" Jeff says, focusing on those two next. "Because it seems that your reasoning is impacting the vote."

"We're just talking about Tax Season Jeff." Sonic says, getting a few snickers out of people.

"You seem like the type that doesn't pay them." The host says, making a few Roku laugh, while focusing on Matt next. "Matt, how do these explanations during Tribal impact the vote? Positively? Negatively?"

"Both ways. It just depends on the person."

"Monty's talking like he's a trustworthy guy. Is THAT a positive whisper?"

"HE whispered to me for a reason. We're gonna find out who stays and who goes." The mole gulps, uncertain about his future. "Does that make you nervous Monty?"

"A bit. Before Tribal these people told me I wasn't going home. Maybe it was just smoke after all."

Claptrap butts in again. "Of course it was just smoke! You're the ONLY person who's a thousand percent honest in the game!"

"Maybe that'll keep me over you." Monty snaps back, not up for another argument.

"Before we incite an argument…" Li Mei interrupts. "..the decision tonight isn't personal. It is just due to gameplay. That is all." she says. The camera focuses on Jeff once again.

"If everyone has already said what they have to…it's time to vote."

He looks at Claptrap and Monty, both staying silent.

"Monty, you're up first."

Monty: First you played too hard and then you screwed up the challenge. Come in with both wheels turning next time. (Claptrap)

Claptrap: Never..EEEVER tell someone they're going home. It'll bite you in that non-existent $$! (Monty)

Matt: It had to be one of you. (?)

The six Roku head back to their stumps after the voting is finished. When they're all set, Jeff's ready to get on with the Tribal. "I'll tally the votes…"

While he fetches the voting urn, the robot and mole look on. Both were promised safety, only one would get it.

Jeff returns to the podium with his urn in hand. "If anyone has a hidden immunity idol or advantage, and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so…" the six Roku eye each other up, but in the end nobody gets up. "Alright, I'll read the votes…"

He removes the lid and pulls out six pieces of parchment.

"First vote…"

— Claptrap.

— Monty.

— Claptrap.

"$#|t." he mutters.

— Claptrap. Three votes Claptrap, one vote Monty, two votes left.

Monty faces the Mii. "Thank you."

Jeff flips the fifth parchment..

.

.

.

"Second person voted out of Survivor: Fight for Fiji…Claptrap. That's five, it's enough. Bring me your torch."

Claptrap grabs his torch and wheels his way over to Jeff without looking at anyone.

"I thought you guys were good players. Oh well I'm not right all the time."

He sets his torch in the hole.

"Get me away from these numbskulls PLEASE…"

Jeff raises his snuffer.

"Claptrap, the tribe has spoken."

He snuffs his torch.

"Time for you to go."

The robot rolls out of the Tribal Council area. When he's out of view, Jeff turns back to the remaining five Roku..facing Monty specifically.

"As it turns out, you had no reason to be nervous." That gets a smile from the mole. Then, Jeff focuses on the tribe as a while. "That's all for tonight. Head back to camp, good night."

With that, the five Roku leave Tribal Council with their torches in hand, hoping that tomorrow they will be a stronger tribe.

Claptrap's Final Words

Claptrap: I get those stairs were the death of me but HOW do you keep someone as goody goody as Monty in the game! Even after he pulls the most unstable move I've ever seen, he still gets to stay but not me. It's all about "keeping the tribe strong."

He mimics snoring, as the camera cuts to black.

Safe to say Claptrap had one of the saltiest pre-merge vote offs in the history of the series. The bot buried the Roku tribe because they voted him out. He could have taken it easy with the strategy talk, as he first approached Monty for it who wasn't having it.

Little Mac and Li Mei CONSIDERED keeping him around, but in the end they had to consider work ethic, challenge strength, AND Clap's shady nature over Monty's one mistake.

Anyways, Episode 3 is likely to get the A/B/C treatment as well, unless it's an episode where not much happens. With that being said, have a good one, Ticket out.
