Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 3 of Centuries. I want to thank those who have left reviews for this story. It truly does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this story. It's taken me a lot of edits as of late to get this chapter to turn out well for this next part which is a complete OG chapter. I can't wait to show you guys what will come in this chapter. Without further ado Chapter 3. ENJOY!

Chapter 3

Jackrabbit stood before her crew with her arms crossed with irritation written across her face. "Mad Hatter care to explain what you saw when you had your meeting with Director Fury?"

Mad Hatter looked up from the table her brows pinched together in concern knowing that Jackrabbit was wearing her heart on her sleeve. "Yes, Jackrabbit. I've come across something very unnerving that we'll need to keep an eye on."

"What is so unnerving that we must come together like this?" A man with golden-tanned skin, brown hair, and brown eyes.

"Trio I'm getting to that." Mad Hatter said with an irritated look on her face looking at Trio who had interrupted her.

"Trio must you always interrupt?" A woman questioned with Alabaster skin, strawberry-blonde hair, and blue eyes narrowing her eyes at Trio shaking her head lightly.

"It's fine Iris." Mad Hatter said looking at Iris knowing that the strawberry blonde-haired woman had a problem with people interrupting.

"What is exactly…" Began as a man with blond hair, blue eyes, and alabaster skin.

"We are dealing with it." Finished a woman with matching hair, skin, and eye color.

"Vector and Prism. I'm getting to it now." She said looking at the twins.

Vector and Prism nodded their heads knowing that Mad Hatter was going to get to it.

"There are three helicarriers. They're planning on launching them soon for Project Insight."

"Project Insight?" A man with beige skin, Brown hair, and brown eyes questioned his brows pinched together in concern. "Isn't that the new Shield idea?"

"Yes, Nomad." Mad Hatter said with a nod of her head. "But I have a bad feeling about the idea… if Hydra is involved they'll kill the ones who will oppose them."

"Like Dr. Banner and others." a woman with brown hair, alabaster skin, and blue hazel eyes were hidden behind a pair of black cat-eye-framed glasses.

"Exactly Onyx."

"That does sound very concerning." A man with taupe skin, black hair, and brown eyes.

"Viper's right." A woman with hazel eyes, brown hair, and Ivory skin. "How can we fight back against this?"

"Medusa, we're going to figure out a way. I am sure that Foxtrot has an idea as well of what to do." Mad Hatter said softly, crossing her arms.

"So we just sit around and wait?" A woman with alabaster skin, black hair, and brown eyes.

"We don't have much of a choice Lynx," Medusa said, shaking her head lightly.

"We can't allow Hydra to get a jump on us," Gemini said, shaking her head. "I've been hearing from Pierce that almost everything is in place."

Jackrabbit looked at Gemini with a concerned look on her face. "And how many days do we have?"

"Only a few days. I have a feeling that the Winter Soldier will be called in if Director Fury even thinks about shutting down project Insight." Gemini said, folding her hands together.

"And if the Soldier is called there is no way to stop him," Medusa said, shaking her head softly.

"The only way to stop him is to figure out who he truly is." Onyx crossed her arms in thought. "And I won't be able to hack in to get information." She let out a breath. "They'd know a breach in their programs quickly… perhaps quicker than Shield noticing anything like that."

Mad Hatter ran her hand through her braided hair. "Well, we're in trouble then…"

"I can try to hack in a little bit but I'll have to tread very carefully for us to not get caught," Onyx said with a nod of her head. "It won't be easy but I can try to alert you on who they might target."

"Okay," Jackrabbit said with a nod of her head. "Just tread very lightly. Do not alert anyone that you're up to something. We don't need Hydra people knowing of us. We don't want to risk our origination just yet in a battle that we're not fully ready for. We'll be treading lightly until we figure out who we can trust." Jackrabbit's eyes slid over to where Mad Hatter was. "Keep an eye on Fury and Gemini keep an eye on Pierce. Report anything on The Winter Soldier and find out who he truly was. We need a name for our ghost that we'll know that will show up at some point."

"Yes, ma'am." Mad Hatter said with a nod of her head.

"Affirmative," Gemini said with a nod of her head.

Jackrabbit turned away from her crew waving her hand and dismissing them from the meeting. Her lips were pursed together into a thin line as her brain raced through the many different types of scenarios that could happen. She could hear the shuffling of the crew leaving. She crossed her arms as her brows pinched together in concern. She could only hope that her team was going to be extremely careful of what they were going to do.

Someone cleared their throat causing Jackrabbit to turn around and see that it was Mad Hatter. "Mad Hatter."

Mad Hatter let out a breath. "Mother, now that no one is around we don't need to go by codenames."

Jackrabbit out a breath shaking her head lightly. "I know you want that Indiana, but we're on a tightrope at the moment… our team could be revealed at any moment."

"Mother, no one is going to figure it out. We're careful and we know how to keep an eye out."

Jackrabbit let out a breath rubbing her mouth softly, turning her attention to her daughter. "How is your father?"

"He's worried that you miss being in Shield. And he knows you're happy with retirement."

Jackrabbit's lips quirked into a small smile. "Of course the story that he came up with… plus the one he has for something if something happens and he has to go underground."

Indiana let out a soft chuckle remembering that one as well.

"Just promise me something."

"Sure mother."

"Watch over your father and keep me posted on him and let him know that I miss him."

"Of course mother." She said softly before turning to leave the office. "He'll expect you home soon."

Jackrabbit let out a soft hum knowing that was very true. The little home that the three of them lived at that no one knew about. Soon if they were able to stop Hydra they would be a family once more.

I promise you that there is more to come in this story and how much of a bumpy ride it is going to be to make sure that everything goes according to the plans that I have in mind for this story.
