English isn't my mother language, so if there's many grammar and spelling mistakes, just ignore it or please let me know. In advance, i apologize for this bad writting. I'm still learning to write in English and also in my native language. Thank you for reading my first changlix story~
Every encounter will result in a farewell, it doesn't matter who the person is, and your soulmate is no exception.
Under the black clouds, adorning the darkness of the night, the desire to end my singlehood appears in unexpected places. The dim garden lights and the silence of the shady trees around me, spurred my heartbeat for you. The silence between you and me creates a serious disease they call love.
It was as if the Goddess of Fortune was on my side, our love's intertwinned immediately. You spent all kinds of seasons with me, until a disaster strikes our love. This time, it was as if the God of Impending Doom was taking his revenge on me. A disaster requires you to fly to another country.
Flowers are blooming beautifully in the garden where we first met. The sunlight beautify the dense trees, the first witness of our love. The expanse of dry leaves in your favorite season plays a snippet of our togetherness in my mind. The animals go into their long hibernation, reminding me of your sleeping habit. Seasons change, news from you never came, love's still held me near. And... when the beloved returns to his hometown, all he brings is false hope.
-Third Person POV-
Crack. The heart of a sturdy, dark haired man shattered into pieces. The impact of the cracks was tremendous, even though it's invisible.
A man froze in front of the two-storey cluster's entrance, owned by his lover's older brother. The sparkle in his eyes dimmed, his smile suddenly disappeared when he found an adult-sized wooden crate in the middle of the Lee family's living room, without the presence of his beloved. One negative thought takes over his mind. Defying his inner voice, he walked slowly toward the source of his negative thoughts.
"Lix...?!" His pupils widened to see his beloved's body lying stiff in the coffin. His palms spontaneously brushed his beloved's blonde hair.
Pale and flat, those two words that can describe the condition of his 'sunshine' face. His lips form a little smile. He wore a suit consisting of a white shirt, tie, trousers, and black formal shoes. Clothes that indicates a change in his life status.
"Impossible...! FELIIXXX!"
His screams deafened the ears of the two mourning family members. His eyelids couldn't hold back his tears.
"Please, God. Wake me up. Tell me this is just a bad dream I had." His well-built body trembled violently, his voice sounded hoarse. Despair was shown blatantly. His waiting is now meaningless, the surprise gift is now useless.
"Changbin-hyung, this is reality." With puffy eyes, Felix's brother-in-law rubbed his old friend's shoulder. "Felix-"
"By. I think we need to give him some time to let all his emotions out." Felix's older brother led his life partner to another room.
The chubby-cheeked man followed her husband's advice. They left Changbin alone slumped there.
"Lix. Lix. Felix!" He cried repeatedly, ignoring his increasingly sore throat. The clock kept moving forward, but, he still sobbing in the very same place.
Time flies, three hours has passed. The host's watch showed at seven p.m, he came to rebuke his brother's lover, "Bin. It's time for Felix to rest."
Changbin turned to the owner of the voice. His eyes swelled up, dominated by red from crying too much. His shirt was wet with sweat mixed with tears.
"Minho... can I sleep in Felix's room?" He asked slowly.
"Of course you can. Tomorrow, we see him at the funeral home." Minho allowed his old friend to sleep in his brother's room.
He stroked the top of his beloved head once before he went to Felix's room. "... be happy. Farewell, my tiny chick."
After he said his farewells to Felix, Minho quickly took his brother's coffin to the nearest funeral home.
Changbin smelled floral scent as soon as he opened the brown door with a sign saying 'Yongbok's Room' on the second floor. Minimalist furniture adorns the honey-yellow painted room, Felix's room looks wider than its actual size. Small items, especially his video game collection, are neatly arranged, not even dusty at all.
He put a rings box on the nightstand beside the bed. Without pressing the light switch or touching the AC remote, he sat on the edge of his late boyfriend's single bed, looked down, lamenting their fate.
"Bin, Changbin."
The call is so familiar. Changbin raised his head, looked at a transparent form man clad in a dull light from outside the window.
A gust of wind brushed the man's blonde hair. Not to forget, a crescent moon smile always accompanies his round cheeks. His friendly eyes never changed, bewitching Changbin for not to break their eye contact.
"Fe- FeLix...?"
"Yes. I'm Felix. Long time no see, Bin." The astral being resembling his beloved person spreading his crescent smile.
Without prejudice or suspicion, Changbin stretched out his hands, intending to hug Felix's ghost tightly. "Lix!"
Bruk. His form was completely transparent to make Changbin fell on the floor. While trying to stand up, his eyes caught Felix's feet which did not touch the ground.
"You can't touch me. I'm dead."
Changbin's head throbbing in concluding today's events. First, he just learned the news of Felix's death this afternoon. Second, judging from the condition of his body, Felix passed away not long ago. Third, Felix appears before him in form of a ghost. Could it be that he was killed? Maybe he wanted to ask Changbin to catch his killer?
"I have a regret to complete. I need your help." Felix said, fading Changbin's thoughts away.
"Lix, what happened? Why-"
"I'm sorry, Bin. I'll tell you everything later. Now, sleep well."
Wuuush. Strong winds pushed his athletic body onto the bed. The hum of the song sung by Felix instantly put Changbin into his dream. He then disappeared behind the mini whirlwind.
