Tatu

Night 14

The six Tatu enter camp after a long night, and lean their torches on a tree. A certain koopa wouldn't be joining them tonight, because a Yoshi has won the battle between them.

Blu raises her fist, feeling like a dino god. "Thanks again guys!" she exclaims, with a smile on her face. "It feels so good not to worry about her…"

"It's good for everyone. Last problem ANY of us need is a foursome." Gordon responds.

"She wasn't trustworthy like you are." Sonic tells the Yoshi. "You don't have a hundred deals with everyone."

The Yoshi pulls him in for a hug and starts jumping up and down. "I can be happy!" The hedgehog just shrugs and goes along with it, jumping anyway. "Feels good doesn't it?" The Yoshi doesn't respond to his question, just overjoyed.

Not a "normal" reaction, but given she's been stuck on an island for two weeks, she can have some fun.

The Yoshi's clapping her hands in confession.

Blu: I lived! She's gone! Oh it feels so good! The stress is just..leaving my body! Is this nirvana?

The happiest she's ever been in two weeks.

Mac is watching and can't contain his smile. He was against saving Blu just yesterday, but how did he feel that he was overruled by the majority again?

Little Mac: I don't feel good getting overruled, but I made the right choice. Kristine was like Double O7, making deals and taking people out. Blu's just happy to be here! Her personality switched, one minute she was coming for blood, and the next she's jumping around like a kid! She's..something.

Tatu

Day 15

The next day…isn't exactly filled with fun. With Kristine out, there is no easy target. Sonic and Monty are having talks about what to do. Even though Matt isn't here, they still have a working relationship for his sake.

"I know Blu's a Toka, but taking her out is a bad call." The hedgehog admits, drawing confusion from the mole. "I thought we were gettin' rid of the Toka?"

"She's the exception pal." Sonic says, defending the Yoshi. "There's bigger opportunities out there." that sentence gives Monty a bigger picture of what he's going for.

"The Fatu?"

"Let's up the stakes, and take a shot at them. When we merge there won't be many chances, especially when the Blue Dragons get involved." Sonic says. "For all we know they'll make an unholy alliance.."

The hedgehog was thinking ahead. Some could consider it smart since the swap is the shortest phase in the game. What if the Fatu Four took power? Would the Black Dragon even consider joining the Roku majority?

"Keeping the Fatu could come back to bite us. Last thing we need is seven against five." The mole can apparently do math. Anything to help out the majority though.

The blue blur raises his white-gloved fist. "Let's bump on it." The mole's brown fist collides with hi, making this official in the hedgehogs mind. "That's what I'm talkin' about."

The two take this plan to Mac, who unlike last time…isn't opposed to it. There was one condition.

"Before we flip on anything, let Blu in on it. You know what happens when she's left out." Mac points out. Her feud with Kristine is still fresh in their memory. One lie, and the koopa's game was over.

"If last night was anything, she's a lock for us." The hedgehog says. "I mean did you see how hard she was hugging me?!"

"I hope she meant it." Mac says.

Sonic: I came in with my shoes on the gas, and I'm not letting up! One brake is all it takes for a chef and his plumber to run me off the track.

The chef and plumber in question are on the walking path. Gordon's rubbing his pocket, and what he's about to tell Luigi seems obvious.

"Hope it's not too late, but you need to see this…" the chef digs into that pocket and pulls out what he thinks is the FIRST hidden immunity idol of the season!

"HOLY RAVIOLI GORDON…when did you find this?" Luigi asks, hands on his cheek like he's about to scream.

"Found it the night before we left."

"Really? You were quiieeet because I never heard you get up.."

"Roku's doesn't hear about this idol until it's too late, so keep this between me and you alright?" The chef requests, and Luigi obliges. "You can count on me."

That raises another question.

"Wait, why would we need it now of all-oooooh." The chef just stays silent and it clicks with him. "You sure they'd go for us THIS early?"

"They can come for us any time. Consider it our meal ticket to the merge because we aren't winning this next challenge." The chef says.

"Have some faith…"

"Oh i'll try until they drill us again."

Ladies and gentlemen, the optimism of Chef Ramsay. What a nice guy.

He has the idol in his confession.

Gordon: This is my get-out-of-sh*t-free card. The easy votes gone, and if we lose again I bet Roku comes for us. Why? Easy. Toka's not a threat now, but you know who is?

Fatu.

Gordon: I'm open to using this on Luigi, if it means we get out of this mess. But I need a hunch on where the votes are going.

Later that day, the Chef meets up with a hedgehog who's been calling the shots.

"So the votes still on Blu right?" The chef asks, and Sonic just stares at him. "I mean..we can't really go after anyone else. We still have to stick together!" The hedgehog keeps a higher voice up. "It's dumb to just use you guys like that."

"We just wanted to be in the loop. That's all." Gordon says, sending the ball into Sonic's court.

"Nothing's changed, it's still five to one Blu." The hedgehog responds, before raising a brow. "Are you ok?"

"All good."

The silence consumes a few seconds of time they're never getting back. Gordon just walks away first, and when he's out of view…

..He takes off!

Sonic: I could have been calm, and then I realized that I threw BLU as a decoy…and didn't even tell her! He put me on the spot, that clever chef!

Meanwhile, Blu's just sitting alone, with a hat made of leaves. She's humming to herself, vibing while she still can.

Because it wouldn't last long.

"BLU!" Sonic shouts, dashing over to her and braking like a car. "Hey!" The hedgehog does a little wave back. "Hi, but are you free real quick?"

"I've been sitting alone for three hours."

"Cool, but listen…I have a bad feeling about Gordon." he says, not only brushing the Yoshi off, but also throwing a Fatu under the bus. The Yoshi didn't mind, but a certain chef would. "What did he do? He didn't mess with our lunch did he?"

"No, it's even worse: He threw your name out. I had to come to you first so he didn't try to get away with anything." The hedgehog lies. BUT he did come to Blu first and try framing him, so maybe it'll turn her against the Fatu. Maybe it'll be a game-ender.

"Why would Gordon do that?" Blu asks, needing a reason pronto.

"Well you get along with everyone so well, and he doesn't think Fatu can compete with you. No matter how many times he denies it." Sonic explains, looking to make it add up. "We had a pretty awkward conversation, and we're not on the same page anymore."

"Huh…"

"Don't be surprised if he comes to you, and accuses me. He's a smart guy." Sonic says, and the Yoshi still seems to be buying in. "If he targets me, please let me know."

"Well..you let me know so I might as well."

"Thank you Blu." he says, staring into her eyes. "I really appreciate it."

He just walks away after that, leaving Blu alone but this time with new thoughts. What's happening? Why now?

Blu: Even if he's lying to my face, I need friends on this island, and how he came up to me FIRST? I love that. The Roku people saved me once, and I'm glad to know, for now, they have my back again. I just didn't like how he was staring into my soul for so long, like, what are you doing?

Cut to another short scene between Gordon and Luigi.

"He used Blu as a decoy. If we want a third we might as well tell her." Gordon says, and there's zero objection from Luigi. "Since you talked to him about it, YOU should tell her."

"I will, but if she asks to meet you're going to be there. Two voices are better than one. Besides I'm from the U.K. people make fun of it all the times nowadays." Gordon says.

"Oh it's CHEWSDAY INNIT!"

"…Bloody hell."

Gordon: I'm usually calling shots everywhere, but right now I'm an underdog. As grating as his British "accent" is, Luigi is too. It's not Toka Time anymore. Fatu is back on the menu.

The chef takes some action and approaches the Yoshi.

"I'll be honest: your names been thrown out." Oh just what the Yoshi wanted to hear.

"Wait, who?"

"Sonic."

Blu expected this, but now there's different retellings of events, involving her. So, her peaceful times have ended. For now.

"We get along great, I don't understand…" She says. "It's out of nowhere."

"He's playing it safe. Doesn't want to move on Fatu." The chef says, and the Yoshi's frowning. "He may be charming at first, but don't buy in. We have your back on this. I don't think he does."

With that, the chef ends his pitch, and Blu gets a new perspective.

"Wow Sonic…that's low." she says, pretending she has no clue about what Sonic said earlier.

Blu: I know that I'm in trouble again, which just blows..but I also know that one of them is LY-ING. Gordon threw Sonic under just like he said he would..but then I hear Gordon say he threw my name out. The way he said it..just makes me more confused about this! It's not the end of the world, but I may want a break soon. Can people stop voting for me?

She laughs, nervous about another trainwreck.

Foka

Day 15

The fifteen day for Foka doesn't start with strategy. Some people are busy providing, others are taking a breather, and a couple people aren't even wake yet this afternoon.

Two are though: a waddle dee and a goat, walking back with fish in their wooden buckets. Toriel looks down at Dee's bucket, scanning for a number. "You caught seven, that's very good for a first timer!" she says. The Dee looks down at her bucket..

..it's practically full.

"You're the vet. Caught twice as much."

"I've been doing this for years! What my book never told you, is ever since the barrier between human and monster was lifted, Fishing is some of our favorite activities!" she explains.

"Do you use your hands?"

"The bears do. Although I will say…the bears up above are crueler than the ones below." she notes. "It can be very stressful."

"Can be? If I was in your spot bears could swallow me whole!"

"Luckily there's no bears in Fiji!"

Toriel: After we got the reward: it didn't last long. In a few hours we devoured it! So today Dee and I went out to provide…

That bright twinkle in her eye vanishes.

Toriel: ..since the strongest can't seem to pickup their weight after drinking.

When the two enter the main camp, it's not beautiful. Kabal is sleeping ON TOP of the shelter, with a few empty bottles next to him. Lord knows how the shelter hasn't collapsed yet. But that's not all, oh no no no… Kano's hanging off their hammock UPSIDE-DOWN, with several bottles on top of him.

Safe to say, it's a mess.

"..They're STILL out? It's been twelve hours.." Dee comments.

"This is why you should monitor your drinks." Toriel advises, before setting her bucket down. They wouldn't be alone for too long because Tremor enters camp with firewood in hand. The goat waves at him. "Hello, Tremor!"

"The sane ones at camp." Tremor comments, dropping the firewood into a pile. "Glad someone could take the time and provide today."

"It wasn't a problem." Toriel says, before looking at the drunk duo ahead of him. "They will have some when they wake up.

Tremor: Before today I believed Kabal to be the sane one of the group. Then he touched a bottle.

Tremor: This clan has issues.

While those five convene at camp, Matt pulls Li Mei aside to direct more traffic. After his conversation with Toriel, he needs to let her in the loop.

"We should join Fatu."

"What changed your mind?"

"They aren't dangerous like the Dragons. Not to mention…they could handle their alcohol better." he notes. "Plus Kano's just a d*ck."

"We've been over this."

"I'm gonna say it again. I don't like aligning with people like Kano. He's a slob, has nothing nice to say to anyone, and isn't pleasant. This isn't called 'Friendship,' but you at least gotta get along with someone to work with 'em." Matt vents, completely writing Kano off.

"We share the same sentiment. He's not honorable. Plus, naming your alliance 'the Black Dragon' is bound to push people away." Mei states.

"They're outta control."

Safe to say, the Roku tribe and the Black Dragon aren't on good terms.

Matt: Kano is a threat to everyone. He loves to deal, every time a deal goes through it's like Christmas Morning. He probably deals with Santa too, who knows cause this guys just shady. HE'S. GOTTA. GO.

Strategy is back on again. Later that day, Matt and Mei meet up with Toriel and Dee, to compare notes and make sure everybody's on the same page. The last thing any non-B.D.G needs is dissension.

"He came to me and was all about the strong guys sticking together." Matt spills. "You two were his targets."

"That's humorous. He made a deal with me about cutting down Roku numbers." Toriel responds, the two's notes looking very familiar. "If we were silly, then we could have fallen into his trap. But good on us for sniffing out his scheme."

On paper, Kano's plan to pit them against each other could have worked. He made his deals sound like it was in both their best interests. But even if it did work, maybe it wouldn't be for long because thanks to Blu, the Tatu tribe is well aware of the Black Dragon. Now Foka is too.

"Those men are target number one. Even if our numbers have quarrels, we cannot let them sneak by. It would be a foolish move." Mei chimes in, preparing for the merge ahead.

Matt: Remember the back seat? Screw that I'm jumping back in the front! None of this is going to fly with me.

Yeesh…it's looking grim for the Black Dragon. Maybe if they handled people better they wouldn't be in this situation. If they were surrounded by a dumber cast they could run the table. But not this cast.

As for the Tatu side, it looks like Roku and Fatu are turning against each other. The islands only big enough for one dominant alliance after all.

Next chapter has more camp life from both tribes, and perhaps some more strategy (although the basic dynamics there are covered). Ticket out.
