A butterfly fluttered through the garden, its colorful wings blending in with the many flowers of different colors as they flapped with grace. In the bright blue sky up above, the sunlight beamed down, illuminating the tranquil environment and breathing life into the flowers and the trees filled with green leaves.
Gloved fingers picked up a flower from a bush, raising them up to a smooth nose as its nostrils contracted with someone breathing slowly. Tifa Lockhart smiled and held the flower as she looked down at it, feeling the stem and the leaves in her hand.
The breeze rippled at her skirt, giving her a warmer feeling, as she felt the sun's rays upon her face, her neck and her arms, tanning her figure. Her friend Aerith held a water pitcher gently, dipping water onto a bed of sunflowers, watering the plants.
Tifa set down the flower and walked beside her friend, enjoying the sight of her friend's garden. Leaves crunched beneath Tifa's boots, compared to how the leaves and grass blades shuffled under the heel of Aerith's high heels, the environment looked so splendid and alluring in many ways.
"Can I get you some soil?" Tifa asked.
Aerith looked at her friend with a smile. "As long as you don't dump it on my head, my hair is not for plants."
The feminine bartender grabbed a pot of plant soil and gave it to her friend, who dumped the contents into a plant bed that had yet to be seeded.
A bird landed on Tifa's shoulder, chirping sweetly, and the shapely black-haired fighter stroked its chin in a gentle manner before feeding it some seed. The bird flew away, flapping radiantly, as it headed into the trees.
"Thanks for coming by." Aerith said to Tifa, "There hasn't been much to do lately, especially since there haven't been many adventures for the past few months, not to mention there haven't been much bad guys causing trouble."
"At least there's no need to worry about Sepharoth, especially after we saved you from his blade." Tifa remarked.
"Yeah, I can't imagine not getting to spend time with you and Cloud and the other members of the Avalanche resistance, aside from tending to this lovely garden." Aerith added.
"Well, at least we don't have to expect any nasty surprises in this place."
Aerith watered a couple more flowers, then she set down the pitcher and walked with Tifa through the place, smelling the sunflowers and roses while regarding the bushes and the trees as a few bees flew by and hovered from flower to flower.
A pair of butterflies nested upon a sunflower patch, resting their wings. Grey-colored birds tweeted and flew from tree to tree, flying freely with content. As the two friends walked along happily, they heard a strange sound and stopped.
The girls looked down and spotted a strange looking red flower spinning, then they saw a dark green spot the flower was on, then they saw a strange brown root in the ground near it.
"I don't think this was there before." Aerith commented.
"Perhaps you were so busy planting that you planted that..." Tifa suggested.
Just then, the dirt began to shake and the girls backed up slowly, noticing that there was something very wrong.
A pair of birds flew away and both women backed up further, watching a strange vine appear from the ground, the dirt shifted and, soon, a massive creature made its appearance covered in grass and leaves with an orange leaf-shaped eye.
And that was when the odd brown root's appearance became clear, it was another mouth, connected to ANOTHER mouth, all lined with teeth as a green vine-like tongue emerged. The plant monster snarled and hissed, roaring ferociously as its vine arms wavered threateningly.
"Looks like I just had a monster plant invasion." Aerith remarked.
"No doubt, we need to UPROOT this monster without destroying your garden." Tifa nodded.
The monster snarled and lumbered towards the girls, swinging its weedy arms at Tifa, who stood in front of Aerith in a defensive manner. She stepped forward to confront the Plant Monster and the beast attacked, attempting to bite the shapely fighter, who punched the creature in the jaw and it retreated.
More vine arms emerged from the ground around the beast, wavering threateningly. A hiss oozed from the monster's mouths and its tongue shot out towards Tifa, who grabbed it and yanked it hard, causing the plant monster to shriek with pain.
The vine arms shot towards the capable Lockhart, attempting to ensnare her, but Tifa leaped out of the way and kicked the creature in the head as Aerith grabbed a gardening rake in a defensive manner.
"GET OUT OF HERE, YOU STUPID PLANT MONSTER THING!" Aerith yelled, she jabbed at the beast with her rake. The beast's vines suddenly wrapped around the handle of the gardening tool and Aerith attempted to yank it back, trying to keep it out of the monster's grasp.
Tifa stepped forward to confront the beast again, focusing her mind as she prepared to utilize her abilities to the fullest. A haze of fire gleamed around her fist and Tifa thrust her arm, punching the plant monster in the side and setting part of its body on fire.
The plant monster screamed as flaming petals fell from its side and burned to ashes, the beast glared at Tifa, eyes blazing furiously.
"You know better than to invade my friend's garden..." Tifa said, cracking her knuckles, "...and it's time for some garden cleaning."
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The monster screamed.
More vines erupted from the ground and went straight for Tifa, who twirled around in a graceful arc with a fiery aura surrounding her. She waved her arms and dispelled the attacking vines, setting them ablaze, and proceeded to unleash Dolphin Punch.
A wave of water magically appeared and a dolphin leaped up as Tifa punched upward, striking the monster underneath the jaws. KROMP-KROMP-KROMP! The beast gnashed its teeth and raised itself to even bigger proportions, looming over Tifa threateningly.
The vines circled around it, the monster preparing to ensnare the capable Tifa Lockhart, and bring her to its mouth. There was no telling if this thing was going down or if it would leave.
Tifa breathed slowly, knowing that she would do anything to save her friend Aerith's flowers and plants from being consumed or ruined by that horrid plant monster, wherever it came from. And she needed all the strength she could get, there was no backing down until it was defeated.
'Here we go.' Tifa thought and concentrated her mind and will. Her body glowed, emitting a strong aura of energy, and she felt herself floating into the air. Tifa looked down at the plant monster, ready to do what she had to do and extended her hands, her palms gleaming radiantly.
High above, the sky darkened, and Tifa yelled with determination. Screeching sounds echoed through the vicinity and Tifa raised her hands in the air before lowering them, and down they came.
A pair of meteors streaked towards the plant monster, glowing brightly, and the flaming balls of rock struck the beast in seconds. The beast howled in pain as the meteors blasted apart it's being, the explosive flames engulfing it.
Aerith noticed the vines strangling her rake burn to ashes and she put down the gardening tool as Tifa descended, the girls watching as the beast disintegrated.
Inch by inch, little by little, the plant monster burned and withered away, smoldering and burning until ashes and a small flower remained on the ground with very little damage to the peaceful garden.
Relief washed over Aerith and she wiped her forehead, the brown-haired adventurer hugged Tifa, thanking her for destroying the plant monster. Tifa pat her friend on the shoulders and gave her a warm hug, comforting her.
She too hoped a scenario like this didn't happen again, who wanted to deal with a garden-invading plant monster. The girls cleaned up, sweeping the ashes away and tossing out the flower that had been atop the beast's head.
Once all was settled, once the garden was back in order, both Tifa and Aerith sat down at a table by a sunflower patch, pouring tea into white cups with petal symbols on them.
Feeling contentment and taking in the fresh air without worry again, Tifa and Aerith clinked their cups together, helping themselves to some refreshing afternoon tea while they smelled the flowers and their tea.
The End
