Chapter 8: A New Beginning
Ryan and Summer spent the next few days trying to navigate their new relationship. It was a strange and exciting time for both of them, filled with moments of nervousness and excitement.
They kept their relationship mostly under wraps, not wanting to upset their friends or cause any drama. But they couldn't help stealing glances at each other during group outings or sneaking in little touches whenever they could.
Despite the secrecy, things between them were going well. They were getting to know each other in a whole new way, discovering things about each other they had never known before.
One afternoon, they decided to take a walk on the beach. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining and a gentle breeze blowing in from the ocean.
As they walked, Summer turned to Ryan with a smile. "You know, I never thought we would end up like this."
Ryan chuckled. "Yeah, me neither. But I'm glad we did."
"Me too," she said, leaning in to give him a quick kiss.
They continued walking in silence for a few more minutes before Summer spoke up again. "So, what do you see for us, Ryan? I mean, we can't hide forever."
Ryan knew what she meant. They couldn't keep their relationship a secret forever, and eventually, they would have to face their friends and family.
"I don't know," he admitted. "I just know that I want to be with you, no matter what happens."
Summer smiled at him, feeling her heart swell with emotion. "I want that too. But we have to figure out a way to make this work."
They spent the rest of the day walking and talking, trying to come up with a plan. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but they were willing to do whatever it took to be together.
As the sun began to set, they made their way back to the car. Ryan held Summer's hand tightly as they drove back to the Cohen's house, feeling like they were on the cusp of a new beginning.
When they arrived, they found the house empty. The Cohens were out for the evening, leaving them alone.
Ryan turned to Summer, his heart pounding in his chest. "Do you want to stay for a bit?"
Summer nodded, a smile on her face. "I'd like that."
They spent the next few hours cuddled up on the couch, watching movies and talking. It was a simple moment, but one that felt significant to both of them.
As the night wore on, Summer yawned, feeling tired but happy. Ryan smiled at her, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him.
"Hey, I'll take you home," he said, standing up.
Summer shook her head, looking up at him with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Actually, I was thinking you could stay here tonight."
Ryan felt his heart skip a beat. He had never stayed over at Summer's house before, and the thought of it made him feel both nervous and excited.
"Are you sure?" he asked, feeling a little unsure.
Summer nodded, taking his hand in hers. "I'm sure. Let's see where this goes, Ryan."
And with that, they made their way up to Summer's room, ready to start a new chapter in their relationship.
