Wade sighed, sheathing his katana as he skipped over to the man on the floor. Kicking him over onto his back, he confirmed he was dead, but he sighed heavily, making a 'tsk, task' noise.

"How rude of you guys, seriously. I really was just trying to help- hey, nice shades." Deadpool chimed as he took off the man's sunglasses, putting them on for himself.

"Allow me to sample your cargo, huh?" Deadpool teased as he walked over to their truck, with a clear view of large packages in the bed of the truck.

He heard a loud scream coming from above him and saw a woman figure falling from the sky.

"Ah, fuck me!" Deadpool shouted, pacing as he contemplated.

"I'm not a hero! I don't need to save anyone!" Deadpool started,

"But it's not your fault, really, that she's falling to her death…" Dead argued, noticing as her body came closer to him.

"Yes. No. Yes. No!"

"Ugh, fine!" he finally relented before he ran over, jumping up to catch the unconscious woman but hissed when he landed harshly on his feet.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, that hurt. Give me a moment." Deadpool swore, pissed before he straightened himself out.

Looking at the woman, he noticed her uniform-like jumpsuit and contemplated what to do, but he thought of the perfect place to test this person.

To Weasel's bar.

The team was torn, and emotions were high as Thor prepared to leave with Loki.

Tony watched his phone screen, seeing her tracking in the wristlet he gave her; it was moving, so there was hope she was still alive.

"Anything?" Nat asked, Clint and Bucky observing Tony closely.

"Her tracking shows she's moving, has been for hours now." Tony said, feeling somewhat relieved but more concerned about how she was moving so fast.

The thought of someone taking her; was she okay? Dead? Being trafficked? So many possibilities ran through his head, but he would find her; he swore to himself.

Nat and Clint had the same thoughts, but they knew she was a fighter. What had them more worried was their relationship. It was so tender and in a sore place after finding their order to possibly kill her. Desi didn't deserve that, and they valued their friendship with her.

Bucky felt that he failed her; the person that brought him back. He knew she was out there, based on what Tony stated, but he knew so little of this world. He could only do so much, but he wanted to be ready to find her.

Everyone said their goodbyes, Thor felt guilty for leaving without finding Desi but had faith they'd find her before he finally left.

"Mr. Barnes."

Bucky's jaw clenched as Steve and Fury approached him, preparing himself when he could see the serious look on Steve's face.

"We've had a lengthy discussion, and we've decided it'd be best to send you somewhere. Think of it as a clean slate."

"What are the details, exactly?" Bucky asked.

"With what Agent Montoya showed me, you could still be vulnerable to Hydra; and that arm makes you stick out with that star on it," Fury explained,

"Steve would accompany you, should really only take a week at most; depends on your progress." Fury said.

Bucky fought with himself. He didn't want to abandon Desi, not after what she did for him, but he would be useless or even a risk to her if Hydra had regained control of him, the thought of them ordering him to find her…

"Fine."

Desi groaned as she slowly woke up, hissing as she slowly sat up as took in her surroundings when she stiffened. Two men sat in front of her, one in a red get-up suit with two katanas on his back, and the second man with glasses and curly hair both watching her curiously.

"Well, well, look who decided to finally wake up. Do you have a habit of falling out of the sky, Rapunzel?" Wade asked, but Desi looked around and realized she was in a bar with patrons minding their own business.

She gasped, finally standing as panic ran through her system. She remembered now: Bucky, Loki, Clint missing, Tony…

Tony!

"I need to find Tony!" Desi said, walking forward but hissing painfully, Weasel grabbed her arms to steady her as he helped her sit back down.

"Easy there, kid. Who's Tony? We can help you find him." Weasel asked.

"Tony Stark. You know, Iron Man?" Desi answered, hoping that helped.

"Oh yeah," Wade laughed, "You're definitely not going to meet him."

Desi and Weasel threw him a look, but Desi placed a hand on her neck, casting a healing spell on herself. Weasel took a step back when he saw her hand glow, but Wade was fascinated to see the injuries on her face disappear.

"Holy shit, you can heal yourself?" Wade asked, the curly hair man not as concerned when she smiled, nodding.

"And others, too." Desi informed them.

"Oh, that's good; great actually," the curly-haired man spoke, "Well, you can call me Weasel, and this is my bar."

"Hi, my name is Destiny." Desi said with her smile unwavering.

"Destiny, I'm Wade, but when I'm in this suit I'm Deadpool. So, Dead, Pool, Mr. Pool-"

"She gets the idea," Weasel whispered to him before he smiled at Desi, "is this how you know Tony?"

"Yeah…we were in a ship, but there was an explosion…and now I'm here. I need to get back to him as soon as possible." Desi explained.

"Let me guess: it had two do with Gods, Captain America, and a few others?" Wade asked.

"Yeah; how did you know?" Desi asked.

"There's something you should see…" Weasel said, pointing to the flat-screen TV on the wall and a frown immediately appeared on her face.

Scenes of them in battle flashed on the television, and her heart dropped. They fought without her, and although she understood, she couldn't help but wonder: where were they? Were they looking for her?

She looked down at her wrist and saw that the bracelet that Tony made her was gone. She didn't get to say goodbye, her thoughts of Bucky and Tony running through her mind. Nat and Clint were probably long gone, Steve never liked her anyways…

Did she go home?

"Is there someone we can call for you?" Weasel asked, handing her his cell phone, recognizing her lonely expression.

"My brother, I guess." Desi said, smiling sadly as she punched in his phone number, "His name is Lemi."

"I'll call him for you." Weasel said with a considerate smile, leaving Wade alone with her.

Wade didn't necessarily care to keep her around at first, but he saw that facial expression she showed, and he remembered that look before he met Weasel. She was lost and had no one solid to really depend on.

"So, Rapunzel, how old are you?"

Weasel went to the back room, called the number waiting patiently as the phone rang until he finally heard the line pick up.

"Hello?" a male voice came through the phone.

"Hey, uhh, my name is Weasel. I'm sorry to be calling but I'm calling about your sister, Destiny. Is this Lemi?"

"Yes, but I'm sorry, did you say Desi? Is she okay?" the man asked.

"Yeah, we found her and she's okay. Safe and sound, but she's here in New York. I know there are a lot of things happening, but do you think you can come pick her up?" Weasel asked.

There was yelling in Spanish in the background between multiple men and an older woman, and he could hear the phone being exchanged.

"This is Destiny's mother…you can keep her. Tell her she is no daughter of mine, but a demon. She isn't allowed home and she is dead to us." The woman said before she ended the call, and Weasel looked down at his phone shocked.

"Well, shit."

Weasel left the room, trying to figure out the best way to break the news to Desi as he approached her, but Desi smiled sadly once more when she saw his face.

"I'm not allowed back, am I?" Desi asked, her fear coming to life.

He was about to answer, when his phone rang, and looked up at Desi with a knowing look, handing her the phone. She took a deep breath and took it carefully, answering the phone.

"Lemi?"

"Desi, thank God you answered, are you okay?"

"I'm still alive, so, I'm okay." Desi said, a small smile on her face as the two men listened.

"I'm glad…"

There was a moment of silence, and Desi wondered what exactly he wanted.

"I know you've never been away from home but let me get you an apartment for the month. It'll be enough until Mother changes her mind-"

"She won't, you know. She's been trying to get rid of me since I was a kid." Desi told him.

"Desi-"

"What do you think will happen if she doesn't?" Desi asked him.

There was a moment of silence before he finally answered, "I'm sorry…"

"Me too…" Desi said, her voice shaking as she felt the tears coming down her face, "Listen, this isn't my phone and I really need to give it back but…tell everyone goodbye for me and tell them I love them, yeah?"

"Desi, don't you dare-"

"I love you, brother…" Desi said, letting out a sob, "Thank you for loving me after all these years…goodbye."

Desi hung up the phone, wiping her tears before she handed Weasel back his phone, "You may want to block the number…thank you."

Weasel took the phone but flashed his eyes at Wade, conflicted about what to do next.

"Where did you live?" Weasel asked.

"Texas; it's my first time out of the state. I don't have anyone out here." Desi said.

"No, shit." Weasel chimed, but Wade couldn't take it anymore.

"Listen, kid," Wade stated, "I know you have nothing but the clothes on your back. But why don't I offer you a job?"

"What kind of job?" Desi asked.

"Yeah, what kind?" Weasel asked, looking at his friend suspiciously.

"You be my sidekick in crime and fighting crime, in return, I'll pay you in free room and board, and food." Wade offered.

"Seriously?" Weasel questioned but Desi chuckled.

"I'm not going to be useful, sorry. I have no work experience, can't drive, and I can't exactly kill a guy," Desi told him, "Besides, why do you want someone as…green as me?"

"Because I know it's like for people to look at you like a monster…" Wade said before he slowly took off his mask, revealing his burn-scarred face to her.

Weasel and Wade watched Desi's reaction drop briefly before she smiled, "I'm confused; is it because you're bald?"

Weasel chuckled and Wade himself couldn't stop the chuckle either.

"The kid's hired!"

Night had come when Wade took her to the apartment that he shared with Weasel. It was a three-bedroom apartment with a loft living room and kitchen, with only one bathroom for everyone to share, but Desi didn't mind it one bit.

"Okay here are the house rules:" Weasel said as Desi rested against the island counter in the kitchen immediately to the left side of the room, One- No one comes here for hook-ups; figure that shit out on your own. Two- If you have drugs, be sure you bring enough for everyone. And Three- Don't blow up this place. Any questions?"

"I know you said you'd pay in room and board, and food, which thank you again. My concern right now is items: is there any way I can make extra money with you guys?" Desi asked.

"Depends, do you have any actual skills I can use at the bar?" Weasel asked. Desi pondered for a moment but could only shrug.

"I can carve wood, I can heal…I can sing if you want?" Desi asked.

"Oh, fuck yeah! That'd be useful both at this bar and for side jobs. Lend the kid some money, and I'll take her later." Wade agreed.

"I guess it'd help. Lately, no one has been wanting to take gigs here…"

"It's because you're cheap."

"Damn right, I am!" Weasel exclaimed, making Desi giggle.

"Thanks, I'll make some dances and practice some songs for you." Desi said.

Weasel could only sigh heavily as he took out his debit card, slamming it on the table.

"Only $300 is your limit, do you understand?" Weasel told Wade before heading back downstairs, hoping he didn't regret his decision.

"Thanks, Weasel!" Desi shouted gratefully before looking back at Wade. He was watching her facial reactions and found them genuine, but knew he'd have his hands full with her.

"Before we go, and go on this magical adventure, what are your weaponry skills?" Wade asked.

"I'm trained in pistols, shotguns, and minor sniping." Desi told him.

"And magically?" Wade asked, wanting to know everything.

"I can heal myself and others. I can…read people's emotions, and their memories if I touch them- including objects. When I get the memories, I feel everything that happened. I can feel your pain, and physically get an injury of my own from doing it but it's not a problem. But, if it's important, I can share a memory with you." Desi explained more thoroughly.

"And this SHIELD you were with…do you want to go back?" Wade asked, but she shook her head.

"Before I…fell, some team members were ready to kill me; they were my only friends. Captain hates me. Bucky was…well, I helped him out of something, and he was one of the only two who cared about my safety…I hope he's okay," Desi explained,

"But Tony was the first one to really care, you know? He said he would let me stay with him to figure out my abilities…I don't think I'll go back but I'd like to send him something knowing that I'm here, and I'm safe." Desi told him.

"We'll get it done kid, but first:" Wade said as he stood, "Let me change. It's time to show you the real world."

Over the next month, Weasel was relentless in her working the night shifts at the bar. Wade was a kind and crazy boss for her during the day. True to his word, most of their missions were robbing warehouses, killing mobsters, and even just robbing people.

There were few rescue missions in between, and Weasel had taught Desi how to drive both cars and motorcycles and was investing in a bike for her.

Wade learned over time that she was a good person, and sometimes, old habits die hard. Desi had slowly been able to stab people more easily, but he was always to be sure to kill the person for her or covered her eyes playfully.

On their missions, he'd allow her to take the pistol, since the bullets were cheaper, but he had learned that she had a family dagger she took with her everywhere. Weasel and Wade worked vigilantly on training her on how to use the dagger, providing her with a metal bat as her melee weapon.

As for her protection from the cameras, and for her safety, he had a suit made for her too. She hated the bodysuit for being so clingy, but she made no attempt to complain each time she put it on.

Like Deadpool's suit, it was mainly black with teal coloring, her face mask protecting her, with her belt in the same design. Desi made the tough decision to cut her hair to help tie her hair up with the mask.

Wade had decided to honor her nickname Mercy and decided to name her Archangel, feeling it more fitting for her. Wade, Weasel, and Desi were as close as could be, and Desi had learned to cast a shield to protect them and had even learned to throw it as Captain America threw his.

Desi made his way down to the bar, smiling when she saw Weasel and Wade were overlooking information, placing two plates of bacon and egg with sausage links: their faces beaming in excitement.

"Thanks, Rapunzel, your food is always a nice break from the chimichangas." Wade said, woofing down the food with Weasel, who slowly ate his food.

"Agreed, it's moments like this where having a woman in the house is beneficial." Weasel agreed.

"Thanks, you guys…what are we looking at?" Desi asked, looking down at the paperwork.

"We found some intel that SHIELD would like, money-wise. We're contemplating if we should sell it." Weasel told her.

"We don't need to do anything with those goodie-two-shoes, no offense, Desi." Wade said, and she smiled apologetically.

"We need the money, ass. Bullets and armor repairs are expensive, not to mention the motorcycle for Desi." Weasel pointed out.

"Fine, you can send them the information." Wade told him, but Desi was busy looking through the mail pile.

"Any letter yet from Stark?" Desi asked hesitantly.

Weasel couldn't stop the sigh escape his mouth, and she frowned.

"You really need to stop waiting for a letter. He's a selfish man, you know. He probably saw your letter and threw it out, knowing you were fine." Weasel advised her.

"I know, you're right. It's been long enough…" Desi agreed reluctantly. She was foolish to think he cared about her, that neither of them did, but she was still grateful to these two.

"Why don't we go head out and steal a bike, huh? There's a mobster who robbed the corner store, and I doubt they'll need their bike after all this." Wade asked her.

Weasel chuckled, Desi giggling at his offer, but she began to feel indifferent. She did everything to try and please everyone, but she knew it was time to move on, to be strong, and think of herself more.

"You know what? Fuck it, let's do it!"
