What If 4

It had been two months and the team had found no trace of Desi. Nat and Clint found that her brother Lemi had received a call from someone name Weasel in New York that Desi was with him.

When Lemi tried to help her get home, she caught off all connection with them-by choice. Nat was worried, that wasn't the Tiny she knew but still, she found a lead. From her contacts, Weasel was a persona; and he had two partners.

One of them was someone called Deadpool, and the other was called Archangel.

Nat was preparing the videos on them when the team came in, and everyone looked around nervously when it was Nat who was leading the meeting.

"Everything alright?" Clint questioned as he and the team sat down.

"Fury found a lead on Desi, a guy name Weasel was known to last have contact with her but he's a persona; hard to find. No one will give up any details but just one: he works with two people. Their names are Deadpool and Archangel. If we find them, we find Weasel." Nat told them.

"Shouldn't be too hard." Bruce said but Nat flashed him a smirk.

"Here's the vid we have of them both." Nat said before playing the video on the screen. A man in a red and black suit wielding a pistol and katana swords, slaying the enemies relentlessly around them as the woman in a black and turquoise colored suit came in with a pistol and metallic staff.

The man was being shot and stabbed but wasn't going down; injuries that would kill the normal man was nothing to this guy. He would periodically take the damage for his partner, but sometimes she would combine attacks with him to end the enemies quicker.

The woman knocked men back, shooting the men deliberately in the arms and legs as the masked man finished them off. The woman then casted a magical shield before throwing it, the enemies being thrown back at the shield disappeared.

When the fight was finally over, the woman helped loot the bodies as the man searched the building. The woman then climbed on the bike as reinforcements came in, the masked mans' back pressed against hers as he covered them when she drove off away from the enemies.

"Vigilantes, it seems…." Steve muttered.

"But if we find them, we find Angel, right? What's the mission then?" Tony asked, finally to have a lead of some kind.

"We arranged a meeting with Deadpool tomorrow, of sorts. We sent out a bounty for information on a building that was recently attacked by them. The mafia had sold information to Hydra, and Deadpool and his friend killed them," Nat explained,

"We're hoping Deadpool or his friend will share something with us. Should be quick and simple, but we can't all go; we'd stick out. The meeting is tonight at a nightclub called Turning Tables." Nat continued.

"Big guy couldn't handle that, sorry." Bruce backed out.

"I'll go." Bucky said.

"So will I." Steve offered.

"Good, I'll go as well. Let's wear casual clothing to blend in, and we'll meet outside, at 7pm."

Bucky put on his dark midnight blue leather jacket, slipping on his gloves but put on his New York Mets baseball cap. Before he made his way outside. Nat wore her iconic shot black dress, showing off her cleavage and figure, but Steve went simpler. Wearing blue jeans and a white t shirt with a dark blue jean jacket with a hoodie, slipping on his New York Yankees baseball cap.

"Here you guys go," Tony said as he approached them, providing them pings and their ear comms, "the pins serve as body cams. We'll be able to see and hear everything on our end live…find what you can on her."

"We will, Tony." Steve assured them before they left to the nightclub.

Arriving together, they remained low but the instructions are simple: Find a table between the front or middle and their middle woman would deliver the item during their performance. The target for delivery would be the one wearing the New York Yankees, the middle woman would be wearing red lipstick and red heels.

The club was heavily polluted, too many people then Bucky would like but stuck close to Steve as Nat disappeared within the crowd. The club had a boxed dancefloor in the center, with tables and booths all around it with the additional floors but stood at the table as instructed.

"No visual yet." Nat said through the comms.

Two dances played, ordering beers to blend in but still remained focused when a new song came on. "Unholy" by Sam Smith came on, and the stage lit up with new performers. A man stood with multiple women, all of their shoes were black and white but one.

A short woman with red heels, her lips just as dark red as the shoes, with a short red dress that sparkled in the light that had long sits over her thick thighs; leaving little to imagine. Her black eyeliner and dark chocolate brown eyes with swords as earrings. The team was at a loss, stunned when her black hair was loose around her face…

It was their Destiny, their Desi.

Desi sang along with the male singer as they made their way to the dancefloor, following a dance routine they put together and Steve panicked when Desi approached him, paying him no mind as she grinded up against him.

"Mmm daddy daddy, if you want, drop the addy," Desi sang before she spun around, her hands up his chest before she dropped to a crouch,

"Give me love, give me Fendi, my Bealenciaga Daddy" Desi continued, sliding her hands up his thighs before they latched onto his belt,

"You Gon Need to bag it up, cause I'm on rodeo," Steve felt something slip in-between him and his belt; the intel they originally needed.

"You can watch me back it up, I'll be gone in the A.M.," Desi looked up into his eyes, ready to end their transaction when she recognized him; Steve Rogers.

"And he, he get me Prada, get me Miu Miu like Rihanna," She pushed herself away, feeling almost mortified but then someone else grabbed her, her eyes latched onto the familiar Bucky Barnes as he pulled her against him.

"He always call me 'cause I never cause no drama," Desi sang, needing to end this as soon as possible for her sake and theirs, but was glad to see that Bucky was alive and well,

"And when you want it, baby, I know I got you covered," Desi sang, grinding up against Bucky before she threw him a wink, walking away seductively,

"And when you need it, baby, just jump under the covers."

Bucky and Steve needed a moment to recover, but Nat was stunned to see her in such a purgative manner; she changed from her Tiny she once knew.

The dance group made their way back to the stage, and the club was screaming excruciatingly loud; unaware that Deadpool saw the Avengers eyeballing his friend.

The night continued for them as Desi continued to perform, Steve and Bucky were no longer in their regular position, and she was more than glad to see them gone. She wanted nothing more to leave but she was waiting for Deadpool's call.

The nightclub had intel on someone important to him, the man responsible for making him the Deadpool he is today. Wade wouldn't share more than that but Desi could hear the commotion and needed to focus on him; her one-time companions were no longer relevant and would think of them later.

Desi slipped into the back of the stage before she grabbed her duffle bag that held her vigilante suit, running into the men's changing room; where it was always empty. It was go-time.

"Have you seen this fucker?" Deadpool flashed a stick figure of AJAX written across the paper, but was shot in the shoulder, causing the club to erupt into chaos.

Desi had just strapped on her staff, her pistol on her lower back, and her family dagger on her thigh when she heard the screaming. She sighed heavily, and took out her mini grenade launcher.

"That was fuckin' rude, I was just" Deadpool slashed him with his katana before shooting the mafia footmen relentlessly, "asking a simple question!"

He heard clips over him and swore under his breath.

"Well, this can't be good."

Desi saw his position and sighed, aiming her launcher at the walls…

"Eeny," she aimed at the entrance,

"Meeny," She aimed at the public bathroom,

"Miny," She aimed at the next wall, the kitchen,

"Moe!" Desi shouted, aiming at the wall beside Deadpool and fired.

Deadpool fell to the ground as the grenade hit the wall, the wall erupting to shreds as Desi ran over to him, not realizing her friends were watching from the corner of the room.

"We should help." Steve said, but Nat held them back.

"They're involved in something SHIELD shouldn't be involved in…" Nat informed him, but they could only watch helplessly but wandered where Desi went.

Desi pulled out her staff as she tackled a man from the back, pulling him back tightly from his neck as Deadpool slayed him and the men on the floor. Desi helped fend them off Deadpool until one of them pressed her against the wall, grabbing her by the neck.

Being holstered up the wall, Desi struggled breathe as the man looked down at her body, his knees between her legs to pin her still as removed her weapons.

"Why don't you show daddy that pretty face of yours?" The man said, licking his lips, pulling her mask off the reveal Desi.

The Avenger's team eyes widened, watching in horror. Archangel was Destiny.

"We got that beauty performer from earlier!" The man laughed as the men cheered, but Deadpool was already making his way back towards her.

With the last of her energy, she holstered her legs up and wrapped them around the capturer's neck, pulling him forward as she headbutted him harshly. The man dropped her, hissing in pain as she coughed violently, recovering her breath as she grabbed her pistol.

Desi shot at his knees as she heard him cry in pain, following over as she looked over to Deadpool killing the others. She grabbed her staff and put her dagger away, smirking victoriously.

"Who's daddy now, bitch?" Desi spat before she knocked him out with her staff.

"Help here, Rapunzel!"

Desi casted her shield and threw it at the men overwhelming in, fending them off as the duo worked flawlessly together. Once the fight was all over, Desi grabbed her mask and sighed heavily, casting a healing spell over her sore neck.

"Way to go, Rapunzel. You've earned each penny of your paycheck flawlessly."

"You don't pay me at all!" Desi exclaimed but couldn't fight the smile on her face.

"Nonsense, my treat tonight! What do you want; chimichangas?" Deadpool suggested.

"Please, no! At least a burger; or some nuggies, no more chimichangas!" Desi pleaded.

"You got it! Nothing BUT CHIMICHANGAS!" Deadpool shouted and Desi sighed, shaking her head but could only laugh.

"Desi…"

She froze, Deadpool stopping with her.

"Do you want me to kill them?" Deadpool asked her but she shook her head.

"Just…don't leave, okay?" Desi whispered, before turning back to face the Avengers.

Their faces were ridden with guilt, and Desi could feel from them their anxiety, their hope, the guilt, but also pain, a feeling of loss…

"We've been searching for you everywhere, why didn't you reach out?" Nat asked.

"So, you and Clint can finish the job? No, thank you," Desi explained simply, "you both were my first friends, and I learned a hard lesson that day. Thank you for being there for me, for teaching me what you could, but…thank you for teaching about trust."

Nat closed her eyes painfully, looking down at the ground as she swallowed that. It hurt more than Nat expected but she knew she deserved that, but was still hopeful she could prove her wrong one day.

"I'm sorry if you felt you couldn't come back to us, but we really could you back. I don't think you realize how much the team misses you." Steve told her, but she scoffed.

"Says the man who loathed me for being a part of the team, for being useless. I have no ill-will against you, never did, but I won't be somewhere I'm not wanted." Desi said, but she looked over to Bucky.

Bucky gave her a considered stare, memories of being so close when they first met, his almost protective stance over her, his call out for her as she fell. She could tell he changed, but she harbored no bad feelings for him.

Desi approached him and he allowed her to when she took off a glove, cupping his cheek. Bucky let out a sigh of relief, closing his eyes for a moment as he savored this moment. His pain and cloudy mind gone, but he missed her touch, the peace it brought.

"I'm not mad with you, I'm just glad you're alright. You look good, Bucky." Desi said softly, smiling at him before she reluctantly released him, "Live a good life for me, okay?"

Wade noticed the look the Bucky character gave Desi, and couldn't help but think of his Vanessa. Romantic or not, it was clear that Bucky thought of something special of Desi.

"I miss the old Destiny-"

"Many will, the Desi you knew was easier to kill, and ignorant." Desi interrupted Steve, "I won't be bullied by you anymore, Rogers."

"Let's get out of here minion, them chimichangas won't eat themselves!" Wade exclaimed, guiding her away from the Avengers.

The team was overwhelmed with the replay of the night, Desi was still the humorous person they knew but her fighting stance and perception of 'fighting when necessary' had changed. Clearly, her time with this Deadpool changed her. Everyone fought with their behavior towards her but Tony wanted more answers.

Happy drove him to Weasel's bar, finding the location from trailing Deadpool and Desi last night. He walked into the bar in his business, his glasses on as it scanned the room; there were lots of guns hidden in plain sight.

"Well, if it is Tony Stark," Tony kept a straight face when he came face to face with the curly haired man with glasses, "I'm surprised you found me."

"Weasel, I assume. I've come to talk to you about your employee, Destiny." Tony said bluntly, and Weasel smirked.

"She's also my friend, so I'm afraid I'll share as little as possible. What do you want to ask about?" Weasel asked, pouring Tony a glass of rum.

"From the very beginning, how she came here to be with you." Tony said.

"Ah, I'll be happy to talk about that." Tony looked over to his side to see a heavily burned man leaning against the bar, with a smug look on his face.

"You can call me Deadpool, sorry I'm a bit underdressed," Wade told him, "But I'll be happy to tell you. Right from the fucking beginning."

"Go ahead." Tony encouraged him, taking a sip of the drink offered to him.

"Desi fell into my arms from the sky, literally. She was unconscious for a whole day but the first thing she thought of was you, Stark." Wade started simply.

Tony took a hard swallow, knowing now she thought of him.

"She explained her role with SHIELD, and her purpose. But then she learned that the battle happened without her. She accepted that, I mean, there was nothing she could do about that. Our Rapunzel didn't know where to go after that." Wade told him.

"So why did she cut off her family then? They would've taken her."

Wade laughed heavily, Weasel flashing a bitter look at Tony's direction.

"Is that what that piece of shit family told you?" Wade questioned before laughing harshly once more.

Tony side eyes in annoyance, but Wade let out a heavy sigh.

"No, tin man. We were here for that shit, her mother disowned her, told her she couldn't go back home." Wade stated.

"Her brother Lemi told her to give it time but Desi expected it, she cut off Lemi after she was told that she is dead to them. So no, she has no family." Weasel explained.

"But she has us now, and she's happy." Weasel added.

Tony nodded, but took the remaining shot of his drink.

"I do have to say though," Wade spoke, "it was really dick of you not to reply to her."

"Excuse me?" Tony questioned, offended already.

"Des wrote you a letter two months ago, I dropped it off at your office for her sake," Wade said, pounding the bar in anger but kept his smile, "every DAY she came to this spot, went through the letters one by mother fuckin' one, looking for a response. Anything!"

"I never got a letter." Tony told him, in disbelief.

"Fuck that, you did! I gave it to your employer, Happy," Wade said, finally standing up straight, "I never liked you before, but Desi didn't deserve that. So do me a favor, keep your Avengers team away from her."

"She's like family to us, she'll be safe here." Weasel told Tony, but he still was in disbelief.

"You may want to go before she gets here." Wade encouraged him; his face now stern; ready to throw him out himself.

"Sure, will do." Tony said, flashing them a small smile before he left.

"God, I hate that man."

…..

When the team came back to the compound, the team was surprised to see Tony surrounded by letters, sitting up against the wall with a hand in his hair as his other hand gripped tightly onto a letter.

"Tony, what's wrong?" Nat asked as she kneeled beside him, attempting to take the letter but he refused to let go.

"She tried to reach out to me…" Tony said softly, "she gave her phone number, the address; everything. She just wanted to hear from me, she…she wanted to know how everyone was. She…she wanted come visit and I didn't read this. Happy thought it was a fan letter…"

"Tony, it wasn't your fault-"

"But it was, all of it. And now she won't even work with us." Tony said, standing as he tried to compose himself.

"We will find a way, Tony. Together." Steve said but Tony was already ahead of him.

"Well, good luck with that. I'm going to be busy for the next few days, maybe a week." Tony said as he walked past them.

"Where are you going?" Clint asked.

"To make Desi a new fighting suit, as an apology." Tony answered as he left the room.

Steve felt foolish for treating Desi in a hostile way, learning the errors of his interaction with her but he vowed he'd try to befriend her in the very least. This issue was he kept thinking of her performance, the way she danced against him, her hands on him.

He blushed at the thought of her, something he wasn't expecting but he hoped that's all it was, but even seeing her dressed up, and the way she fought with such tenacity; he couldn't allow feelings to develop. It was just a temporary feeling.

Bucky took a deep breath, memories of seeing Desi again running through his mind. Her dancing against him, her singing, her gentle side came out to him but her fierce fighting; she had grown but she still cared for him.

One thing was for sure: they'd try to get back on her good side.
