After finding nothing in the yard, Luigi was finally able to sit down and eat but he also noticed that Bleck didn't have anything.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Luigi asked.
"I did before waking you up. I had some work this morning that needed to be finished and so I ate while I did that."
"Oh. ok." Luigi said before continuing to eat.
After Luigi was able to eat his fill, Bleck began the tour of the mansion. It was a three-story building with many bedrooms, bathrooms, a dining area, a kitchen, a living room, and even a ballroom. The attic was just a big open space for storage with a couple of windows for light. Luigi took a peek outside and in the yard, he saw a small building.
"What is that?" Luigi pointed to the small structure.
"That is just a tool shack. See over there." Bleck said, pointing to an open field. "That used to be a garden and I would store my tools and equipment in there. It hasn't been used in years though. I am embarrassed to say I even forgot about it." bleck said, chuckling to himself.
Luigi didn't know why but the shack pecked his curiosity. He wanted to explore the shack and maybe the outside while it was still light outside. It was too scary and risky to go at night.
Once the tour was done Bleck asked, "Well I have other business to do. Are you fine with being here by yourself until your brother gets here?"
Luigi paused. He could not find a confident answer. In all honesty, he was terrified but he didn't want to burden Bleck by saying that so with a brave face, or as brave as he could do Luigi said, "I will be fine. Mario should be here soon."
"I am sure," Bleck said before heading out of the door. Just when Luigi was about to close the door though he could have sworn he heard Bleck say, "I am sure he will not."
This startled Luigi. That sentence sent a chill down his spine. He couldn't be sure that was what he heard but it was so clear. It had to be. Luigi's worry increased but there was nothing he could do, since when he opened the door back up Bleck was gone. Startling Luigi even more than he already was.
For the remainder of the day, Luigi stayed in his room and looked at his phone. Now that he was alone he actually decided to try and call Mario but there was no answer. It didn't even ring.
"Mario?" Luigi asked with worry. This continued until night fell and Luigi had to sleep alone again with no clues on where his brother was.
This time however he couldn't fall asleep. The eerie feelings increased and his fears amplified. The room got so cold he could actually see his breath. He heard creaks from all around his room with no explanation.
"Hello?" he asked timidly.
"Hahaha!" was heard. An eerie laugh that came from nowhere.
Luigi looked all around and to his dismay, the room began to change. The artwork became tattered, the bed began to rot, and the near-perfect room looked as if it had aged a hundred years.
Luigi jumped out of bed and to his horror the rest of the mansion changed too. The flowers in vases were replaced with dead plants or broken vases. There were creaks and holes in the floor and many of the windows were shattered.
Luigi was terrified and in the midst of all this, he continued to hear the eerie laugh. It was coming from all around him but there were no sources to be seen. He tried to plug his ears but the laughing was so loud he could hear it through his hands.
Luigi had enough. He was so terrified he ran as fast as he could out of the house. He stumbled and tripped a lot but his adrenaline was high and he didn't care. He wanted out and nothing was going to stop him.
He finally made it to the front door but to his horror, a white silhouette was there. It got clearer and clearer until finally, he could see the outline of a ghost. The eyes were glowing red and the body was huge. The razor-sharp teeth were visible and Luigi was too scared to move.
The ghost saw him and slowly made his way to him. "Luigi." it saw slowly and in the most bone-chilling voice Luigi has ever heard. "Failure," it continued to say. "Alone. Powerless. Loser." the ghost kept insulting him.
Luigi began to cry as the ghost mocked him. The ghost crept closer and closer. Luigi could not move. Then right when he was right in front of him the ghost said one final word. "Burden".
This word made Luigi snap. The ghost knew he couldn't do anything and was mocking him for it. Luigi wanted to prove that he was not a weakling, that he wasn't a burden but with his body shaking and tears rolling down his face couldn't match up.
Just then other smaller ghosts appeared all around him and Luigi was terrified. He looked all around but he was surrounded. Then he saw it. A smashed window that hardly any ghosts were by. He couldn't stay there anymore so he ran for that window and jumped right there. With it being on the first floor he was not hurt so he quickly got up and ran.
He wasn't sure where he was going but he ran as fast as he could straight ahead. Just then the shack from before came into view. He didn't know what was in it but he wanted to hide so he ran inside and shut the door.
It took a minute but Luigi heard nothing outside. He turned around and took a huge sigh of relief as he slid down the wall to catch his breath. Just then he felt something breathe on him. He looked up and a green miniature dinosaur was there.
"Yoshi!" It said loudly.
Luigi finally snapped and he yelled his head off before passing out. Then another person came out and said, "Well that was quite the introduction."
