Hello everyone its been a few years since i last wrote anything with the intention of posting it online. I have been considering getting back into it again and i thought i might start by redoing the only story that I have done as looking back i see several flaws. I will most likely be taking a lot longer on this than i did last time as i feel i rushed it a lot so don't expect constant updates as i will be working on this periodically at best. Also worth mentioning that is has been some time since I've read either book series so there may be a few details i get wrong from either world. Feel free to point out any errors i make as they pertain to the existing works but also just take it as my creative freedom to change things to work for my story. Any way with my rambling done I'll start the story now just a quick clarification first. If you see "" that is for speech while '' is for thoughts
Chapter 1 Aftermath
"Having PTSD does not mean you are broken. It merely means you were put to the test and didn't fall apart."
Percy was struggling in the months following the conclusion of the war against the giants. They had won but at what cost? Many friends had fallen, and many more injured gravely. Among those who avoided physical injury there was tons of mental trauma to go around.
Percy had it especially rough being targeted by the gods for their plans including kidnapping him and wiping his memory to send him to a new battlefield. Even worse than being manipulated by his allies was being targeted by his enemies, Gaia in particular. She had toyed with him mentally and it had worn on him eventually even leading him, a son of Poseidon who could easily breath underwater, to fear drowning. If that wasn't a sign of mental health problems then nothing really was. Unfortunately for Percy, it didn't stop there.
Tartarus. What more could be said about that place? It truly was hell, in any sense of the word. Worse even when you considered the differences between Hades realm and the pit. It had taken everything Percy and Annabeth had to escape that place, but even that wasn't accomplished without the sacrifice of the titan bob who had become another of their fallen friends.
Just when it seemed the hits had stopped coming and things could return to normal, whatever the hell normal was for Percy, one of the biggest blows landed. Annabeth, who Percy had been able to rely upon for so long and had loved with all his heart, had left him.
It had taken Percy a long time to even begin to understand why she would do that after everything they had done and been through together. Eventually he realized that all they had been through was probably the main motivation for it. In the weeks following the breakup Percy had spent a lot of time thinking back on all the fond memories they shared, only to find himself focusing on all the fights and painful memories that seemed to go hand in hand. Tartarus was where almost all thoughts of Annabeth ended up after their shared experiences in the pit and if it was the same for her then Percy really couldn't blame her for the choice she made. Finally coming to understand her choice didn't make losing her hurt any less though or stop him for wishing for the future with her that they had started to plan out together.
The aftermath of all of these recent experiences had left him a shell of who he formerly was. He no longer smiled or went out of his way to talk to people, he had stopped going out for fun or even visiting the ocean. The jokes and upbeat attitude had been mostly abandoned. He would still train himself and go on quests to fight monsters, in fact that was almost all he did anymore.
Even as damaged as he was he refused to shut himself in his room and completely close of contact with everyone entirely but the effort to stay actively engaged was gone. Of course Percy would try to hide it best as he could when he was with friends or family but he was struggling with it and his mother had had enough.
"Percy, I think you need a fresh start" spoke Sally Jackson. As his mother she had tried many times to help him through his grief and trauma but it had been to little effect. She wasn't willing to give up though. No matter how many times she failed, she would continue to try to help her son until he recovered but she was running out of ideas.
When she spoke Percy moved his eyes from the television, in his mothers apartment, that he had hardly been paying attention to in order to speak with her. "What?" was his elegant reply.
"I've tried everything I can think of. Including asking Chiron to provide therapy sessions for you which he told me yielded nothing. Apparently you just kept on saying that your fine, same as you do when I try to talk to you but we can all tell that your not fine. The only other thing i can think of at this point is to help you start over somewhere new that doesn't have all the same baggage associated with it that this area does. I can tell that everywhere you look you are reminded of an experience with Annabeth, or some fight you had to experience, so I think just getting away from everything might be a good idea."
Sally had to stop to catch her breath after her long winded explanation. She had rushed through it a bit as well due to being a little nervous of actually going down this route. The last thing she wanted to do was send her son away from her where she would be unable to help him, however the longer things dragged on the more obvious it became that she could not help anyway. She stayed silent for a moment hoping she had not offended him by more or less telling him to leave but also to see his reaction to her words.
For a while he did not react only continued to sit on the couch looking up at her from where she stood near the kitchen. After a few seconds of processing he finally replied. "I don't exactly have anywhere to go. It's not like I really know anyone outside of the demigod world to visit. I wouldn't really know what to do with myself if I wasn't here training or taking quests."
"Your constant training and fighting is part of the problem, your basically reliving your trauma everyday. As for where to go and what to do I have a solution for you on that front. I have been thinking this over for a while now."
Percy really couldn't dispute her point, it happened multiple times when he went out to fight a monster of any variety that he would end up with a flash back. Often it would be of his travels in the pit where he had to fight through most of the monsters that he still encounters. Thankfully it had not cost him during a fight but he was losing his focus and he knew it was only a matter of time before something went wrong.
"If you really think this is for the best then I guess I'll do it. I'd like to hear what you have planned."
"Well do you remember my brother Charlie? He doesn't live nearby so I don't talk about him much but I'm sure I've mentioned him to you."
Percy shrugged. "Not really."
"Understandable since you have never met I guess. Anyway this seems like a good two for one opportunity to me, you can meet some new family members and it'll give you a new spot to start over."
"Who else is there other than my uncle?"
"Charlie has a daughter living with him, your cousin Isabella but she prefers just Bella from what he told me. They are both unaware of the Greek gods and mythologies and it would probably be best to keep it that way. He has a fairly modest house but he says he has room for you and that you are welcome to stay for as long as you want."
"That's very generous of him especially since he doesn't even know me"
"Charlie is a cop so he's used to helping people out when he can, it's just who he is. Also we have been talking a lot recently so I've told him a bit about you and kinda what you went through, the mortal version at least."
Percy was curious how exactly his mother had turned his experiences into something a normal person could understand but he really did not feel like comparing notes so just let it slide. "All the same he doesn't have to bother making room for me. I don't want to take advantage of him and just mooch of of them. I can rent a small apartment or a hotel and take care of my own food."
"I wasn't going to suggest not contributing at all for food or rent, after all I know your father gave you a credit card as part of your reward. I do think you should stay with them at least for a little while though until you can get settled in. It gives you more time to get to know your cousin and uncle that way too."
"Okay that sounds reasonable." Percy paused briefly to think. "You still haven't told me where they live"
"In a small town in Washington state called forks. It's near the pacific ocean. I think you'll like it."
"The town is named after cutlery?" he asked slightly incredulously "I guess I'll be flying there then huh?" he felt slightly queasy just thinking about entering his uncle Zeus's domain but he knew he would be fine as long as he prayed to him and offered some barbecue as sacrifice.
"Yes I found a ticket for you already I was just waiting to buy it until we talked and i knew if you were willing to go or not. Also while we are talking I should mention that they have a high school there and I am enrolling you to attend. They already accepted your transfer I just have to confirm it with them."
A brief silence followed before Percy replied with the most passion and raw emotion that Sally had seen in a long time from him. "WHAT?! ARE YOU CRAZY? I'm not attending high school again."
The next day Percy found himself getting onto a plane wondering how in Hades he had lost the argument about attending high school or not. His mother had insisted that it would be a good way to keep his mind off things and that furthering his education could not hurt. He had emphatically countered that getting educated in the mortal system can, had and will continue to hurt him and that keeping his mind off past torture with torture in the present was not a good way to go. Somehow in the end she had ended up winning and Percy had folded and agreed to attend Forks high
"Ridiculous, I can beat monsters, gods, titans, and giants but an argument with mom is still unwinnable." he grumbled to himself in a slightly fowl mood as he settled in for a long flight. The flight was mostly uneventful but Percy still tensed up at the slightest amount of turbulence. He was pretty sure it was his uncle Zeus having a laugh at his expense, although it could just be his paranoia instead.
When Percy arrived at the small airport in forks there was no one waiting for him. He realized quickly that he had forgotten to call his uncle and tell him when his flight was arriving. Of course he realized that he could call Charlie now and get a ride, the airport wasn't far from where they lived so it would not take long to get there, but Percy really did not mind the idea of a quite walk back on his own. After all it was only a little more than a mile and his training routine had a longer run than that as a warm up. He also had the address already so he knew where to go.
Naturally it was raining. As most people hurried to their cars, huddled under their umbrellas, to take shelter from the miserable downpour Percy simply shouldered his suitcase and walked out completely undisturbed. He could have simply willed himself not to get wet and keep his clothes dry but water never bothered him at all, in fact it was sort of a comfort. Keeping his luggage dry was really all he cared about and with nothing more than a simple thought it was done. It was unlikely anyone would ask why the contents of his suitcase managed to stay dry but even if they did it would be easy enough to come up with a convincing lie, or simply soak it real quick for an easy gas lighting job.
As Percy was walking down the mostly empty road into town he started thinking. Most of his thoughts were about the new area he was in and the culture shock it was going to be moving from New York City into such a small town like forks. One of the first things readily apparent was the lack of pollution. The air tasted so much fresher and he could easily sense that the water was much cleaner in the area, not to mention much more abundant. He could feel the humidity as anyone surely could however as a son of Poseidon it felt invigorating. It was more than just the water in the air though, the near constant rain left the vegetation heavy with moisture and puddles every few feet.
Speaking of puddles, along the side of the road where Percy was walking into town was a rather large one. Coincidentally as he was passing it a yellow Porsche came flying down the road at speeds far above the normal limit. His expectation of someone with a complete disregard for the speed limit was to also disregard his comfort and drive right through the puddle at high speeds causing a rather unpleasant wave of ditch water to soak him completely. Not that the rain water had left him dry to this point, or that he really would have cared but it still came as a pleasant surprise when the car instead veered quickly into the other lane to avoid splashing him. 'That was surprisingly considerate' Percy thought briefly. He had not caught sight of the driver but he had a moderate amount of respect build for them. The speeding certainty did not concern him, with a car like that who cloud blame them? He was a little surprised to see a car of that quality in such a small town like this, but rich people could live wherever they wanted he supposed.
Not long after the encounter with the Porsche Percy walked into the main part of town. He could see most of what the town had to offer just from walking down the main street. There were a couple of regular stores for general supplies and groceries as well as a small sporting goods store that caught his eye. 'I might have to check that out later' he thought but made no plans to actually do so.
There was also a small diner that looked cozy and tempted him to stop in but seeing as he still had not let his uncle or cousin know that he had arrived yet he figured he should make his way to their house first. That would also allow him the get rid of his suitcase, not that the weight bothered him but it would be a little weird to lug it into a diner with him or any of the other stores he was considering visiting. It would also be considerate to see if they had already made dinner plans before he did his own thing and messed it up.
There was also a small motel that Percy took notice of. He had agreed with his mother to stay with Charlie and Bella but he had not decided on a duration with which he would do that for. His plan was still to find his own place fairly quickly so as not to impose too much on family who were really still strangers to him.
'It's great that they are willing to have me stay with them but I still think it will be less awkward for everyone if I'm not around twenty four seven. Less dangerous for them too if I'm not in the same house in case i attract more monsters.'
If he could not find a small place to rent the motel would make a reasonable option. Yes it would be more expensive but when your spending the gods money instead of your own you sort of stop caring about the price. The only real downside would be that it might raise questions about his finances that he did not really care to try to answer. He decided it would be best to try to keep up appearances and try to seem as normal as he could. That was another reason he wanted his privacy so he could train in peace without giving away his more godly side.
All that being said for now his destination was his uncle Charlie's place and he had arrived at their front door. 'Well here we go I guess' he thought before walking up and knocking on the door firmly. He could hear a chair scrape across linoleum and a few seconds later the door was opened by a gruff looking man who Percy figured had to be his uncle.
"Hello, can I help you?" Charlie asked as he opened his door. He had been sitting in his kitchen near the phone as he was anticipating a call from his nephew any minute now. Charlie realized that the kid at his front door carrying luggage was probably his nephew Percy that he was waiting for but, seeing as they had not meet yet and that he was not expecting the kid to just walk over from the airport, he decided to wait for introductions before inviting him into his home.
"Hi you must be my uncle Charlie right? I'm Percy Jackson. I know my mom has talked to you lots to set this all up but it's good to finally meet you and talk to you myself."
Percy and Charlie shook hands at this point and Charlie was impressed by the strong and firm grip of Percy. It projected confidence which was made more impressive by the mental state he was lead to believe Percy was in. Just because Percy was hurting, and knew his mother had already briefed Charlie a little bit, it did not mean that he was not willing and able to make a good first impression.
"It's good to see you kid. I must say this is a bit of a surprise though. I was waiting for your call to pick you at the airport. I really didn't expect you to walk all the way here carrying your luggage. Your arms must be sore from all that, did you lose my number or something?"
"Sorry about that I should have called ahead but I just felt like taking in the sights of the town and getting my bearings on the way in. Plus I like the exercise."
One glance at Percy was all Charlie needed to know that last statement was the truth. Percy was in perfect physical health thanks to his constant training and demi godly constitution. "What about the rain?"
"It doesn't bother me" Percy shrugged as if to emphasize his nonchalance about the weather.
"Well all the same you should come on in and dry off. You can leave your suitcase in the living room for now if you want. I can clear out some space in my home office to put a bed in there if you want but at least for tonight you will be on the couch."
Percy followed his uncle into the house removing his shoes and jacket as he did so. "Thanks and the couch is fine you don't have to mess up your workspace at all. I'm not sure how much my mom told you but I'll probably be looking for a small spot I can rent so that I don't burden you too much."
"Hey it's no problem kid, I'm glad to have you here. Besides, after what your mom told me about that gang violence you got caught up in in New York, it sure sounds like you could use a break. If you do really want to go that route though I can probably help you find a place for cheap but we'll leave that for later."
'Gang violence huh? Guess that makes sense as a cover for mom to use. Still don't want to get into the details so I think it's time for a subject change and there is still someone else I haven't meet yet.' "Thanks Charlie, hey is Bella around?"
"Ah of course. Hey Bella can you come down here? Your cousin has arrived." Charlie raised his voice significantly so that Bella would be able to hear him.
A couple of seconds later they both heard the sound of a door being opened and then closed followed by the sight of Bella at the top of the stairs making her way down to greet Percy. 'He finally got here, Alice told me his plane would be arriving a while ago. I'm excited to finally meet him, I didn't even know he existed until recently. I hope I don't embarrass myself in front of him.' "Hey you must be Percy it's nice to finally meet youuuuuu"
As Bella was walking down the stairs her foot slipped off the edge of the second to last one causing her to fall forwards towards the two of them who had not yet made it farther into the house than the base of the stairs. This also comically stretched her speech into a partial squeal as she lost her balance. Charlie tried to catch her but would have reacted a second too slow if not for Percy catching her with his off hand as he was still holding his suitcase in the other.
"Nice catch" "Thanks for that" Came the slightly impressed and rather embarrassed replies from Charlie and Bella respectively as Percy helped her back to her feet. Percy had hardly reacted to her falling other than to move his arm making it look completely effortless, which for him it really was.
"No problem" he replied with a small smile that did not fully reach his eyes. "You are rather clumsy aren't you or was this just bad timing?" His eyes started to show some mirth when Charlie started laughing and Bella blushed from embarrassment at his words.
"No it's not bad timing she really is one of the clumsiest people you are ever likely to meet."
"Char-Dad! I'm not that bad..." Charlie just looked at her with a blank expression after she said that. "Okay maybe I am" she admitted reluctantly.
"Anyway Percy go ahead and get settle in a bit. Bathroom is just upstairs on the left if you need to change. Bella and I will figure out dinner plans while you do that."
"Sounds good." Percy gave a quick nod before proceeding to do just that. He set his suitcase at the far end of the couch before opening it up and pulling out a dry set of clothes. He could have dried his current set instantly but that would not be a smart way to go about keeping his powers under wraps. He quickly made his way to the bathroom to change so they could figure out dinner. His hunger was starting to be all he could think about after the long flight with disgusting airline food he refused to eat and the walk from the airport.
"Well he seems nice so far" Bella hadn't been told much about Percy by her father, who wanted to let her build her own opinion of Percy without just seeing him as damaged, so she was still putting together her initial opinion of her cousin.
"From what I've heard he is. Sounds like he helped a lot of people he knew back in New York."
"Why did he move out here to Forks? You didn't really tell me much about him yet."
"Well it's the first time I'm meeting him too you know. Sounds like he just wanted a change of scenery. I really can't blame him for that I would hate to live in a big city as well. I don't know much more than that."
Charlie figured holding back some of what Sally had told him would not be a problem. Thing is even though he believed he was telling a white lie by omission he really was not. Most of the information given to him was modified and untrue itself. If you have information on someone but none of it is fully accurate then the truth is you really do not know any more than someone who knows nothing.
"Fair enough, well I look forward to talking to him more and getting to know him."
"That's good. In fact I wanted to ask you if you could spend some time with Percy and help him settle in around here a bit. You know with school and all. I know you usually spend most of your time with Edward but Percy is family."
Charlie's request really had two purposes. First was obviously what he said taken at face value to help Percy and he would have made the same request even if that was all there was to it. However after Edward and his family had left and the state that doing so had left Bella in, especially since she had been found in the forest all alone, he really did not like Edward and wanted to keep him away from Bella. That appeared to be a losing cause but he still did what he could while trying not to push Bella away.
"Of course dad you don't even have to ask. When I found out I had a cousin coming to visit I went and talked to Edward about that. I told him I'd be spending more time with my cousin but it works out anyway because the Cullen s are going to be away for a couple of days on a camping trip anyway. I'll probably introduce them to each other later though."
Bella had talked to both Edward and Alice about Percy's upcoming arrival. There was really only a polite interest coming from Edward and it was clear he did not overly care about Percy's arrival beyond the normal curiosity of a new student coming to Forks. Family of Bella's that had not even met her did not really count in his mind so it was much less important than meeting Bella's parents had been. He was still slightly curious to see if any of Bella's mental defences had manifested in Percy as well but it seemed unlikely as neither of her parents shared the ability to keep him out.
Alice, of course, was much more excited than Edward. Excited was pretty much a default state for her though so that was really to be expected. Alice was already trying to plan shopping trips and other outings to take Percy with them on. She had pestered Bella for around an hour with questions that Bella simply did not have answers for.
Bella had finally gotten exasperated enough to say "Your the physic Alice, can't you just see all this stuff?" The answer had been a disappointed "no". The prevailing theory was that Percy was still a total stranger so she was having a hard time tuning her visions to him. So far she had only seen general stuff like his plane arriving, and the Swan's front door opening to reveal Percy standing on the other side. The odd part of those visions was that she still could not get a good look at Percy himself. She could see his luggage fine labelled with his name which was the only reason she even knew it was him, but Percy himself always appeared foggy or shadowed making it impossible to even tell what he looked like.
Charlie was happy enough with Bella's response so he decided to move the conversation along to their plans for dinner. "Awesome, anyway like I told Percy we should probably figure out what we are doing for food tonight. Personally I was thinking the diner might be nice today. It gives you a night off cooking so you can focus on conversation with Percy. Also I've heard they got a new chef running the place and people have been very impressed."
"Sounds good to me."
"Me too, I'm starving" chimed in a freshly changed and ready to go Percy.
"Alright we can go then. I think we'll take my cruiser, it has a little more space than Bella's truck."
As Percy slid into the back seat of the cop car he remembered one of the times he got in trouble at a public school and ended up sitting in the back seat of a similar car while they tried to figure out what happened. It was a monster that caused the commotion but since mortals could not see those thanks to the mist Percy ended up getting partially blamed. 'I really hope nothing happens at this school that causes uncle Charlie to have to pick me up in this.'
The diner Charlie took them to was the same one Percy had seen on his walk into town. 'Looks like I'm eating here after all.' It had a cozy atmosphere and Percy could tell it had been around for a while. That being said the menu's were newly updated and everything sounded amazing. It was obvious the new chef had some experience in some higher class restaurants with various dishes such as lamb chops, salmon on a bed of seafood risotto, stuffed chicken Supreme with homemade pesto rose gnocchi, and many others. Charlie went with a simpler southern fried chicken sandwich with a balsamic bacon onion jalapeno jam. Bella got a grilled chicken breast to go with her artisan romaine ceasar salad. Percy treated himself to a 10oz strip loin steak with Cajun butter, a twice baked potato and seasonal veggies.
"So Percy what kind of stuff do you like to do in your spare time?" Bella started the conversation off after they had placed their orders. It had not taken them long to get their orders in and before this point talk was really only about the food.
"Well I'm a big fan of nature so I usually spend lots of time outside. I usually attend a summer camp that has all kinds of activities lined up. I especially love the beach, in fact my mom and I had a cabin we used to visit often near the ocean."
"That's cool, I'm a big fisher myself actually. I usually go on weekends often with a buddy of mine on the reservation. You might have to join me one of these days."
"Ya for sure, sounds like a good time uncle C." Percy did not often go fishing. Being a son of Poseidon he almost always got called "My Lord" by any fish or aquatic life in general. It was really hard to go around killing and eating fish when they all treated him with such respect. It was the same reason he opted for the simple Cajun butter as opposed to the recommended shrimp and scallop Oscar to go with his steak. All that being said he was not opposed to a little catch and release and he did enjoy any time spent near the water.
All the food arrived at this point and conversation stilled for a few moments as everyone started digging in. All three of them were thoroughly enjoying their meals. Once they were a little more than half done Percy started up the conversation again.
"Alright Bella it's your turn. What do you usually do around here?"
"Well most of the time I spend time with my boyfriend Edward and his family. Carlise and Esme adopted all five of their kids but they are extremely close despite not being blood relatives. I also visit Angela and Jessica and we hang out some times too. I'll be sure to introduce you to everyone at school tomorrow. The Cullen s won't be there tomorrow so that introduction will have to wait. I also read a lot."
At both the mention of school and reading Percy had visibly recoiled. "You just had to remind me of the torture lined up for tomorrow didn't you? I still don't get how people can read for fun either even though my girlfriend... or ex I guess, used to do it all the time too."
Percy had a melancholy expression after the path that last thought had taken. Bella really was not sure how, or if she even should, go about navigating the topic of his ex so she decided to take the much safer path. "Oh come on school isn't that bad and reading is fun."
Percy's thoughts quickly left Annabeth and instead turned to his poor, foolish, naive, tortured cousin and he decided to try to educate her on the true horrors of the public education system. "Reading is probably the worst part of school. Stupid letters keep flying of the page and reorganizing themselves in all kinds of combinations. The teachers never seem to be at all sympathetic either and get frustrated when I ask for help."
Their waitress, Penny, came by to clear the plates and offered them dessert to which they all polity declined.
"Dyslexia huh, that's rough." Both Bella and Charlie winced in sympathy as that was revealed. "Can't say I can relate as I don't have that myself. I can tell you I probably would not enjoy reading as much if I did."
"Ya it's unfortunate but I've learned to deal with it, by staying as far away from anything involving reading as possible." Percy crossed his arms and shook his head emphatically to emphasis his point.
At this point Bella had to laugh a little. She had never seen anyone be as dramatic as Percy was being about reading and attending school. Even Charlie joined in with a soft chuckle.
"As long as you don't start skipping school" Charlie warned him.
"I won't tempting as it is. I promised my mom I'd give this school my best effort and I keep my promises. Even if it involves walking through hell."
"Besides if you have any trouble in school I'll be there with you to help you out if you need it. I should be able to convince either Edward or maybe Alice to help as well if needed."
"I appreciate that Bells, I'll try to do it on my own as much as I can. I don't want to bother you too much and I don't even know those two yet so I don't want to rely on them right off the bat."
"I really don't mind and I'm sure they won't either."
It was around this point that the bill got dropped off at their table. When it was set down both Percy and Charlie reached over to grab it but Percy was faster. "Hey kid pass that over, this meal was my treat."
"Sorry uncle C no can do. Your already letting me stay at your place free of charge, temporary as it may be, but I can't let you pay for my meal as well. Especially when I had by far the most expensive meal. I'd feel bad if you didn't let me pitch in a little bit." 'especially when it doesn't actually cost me anything.'
"Alright fine but your not buying all our meals or else I'll be the one who feels bad, but thanks kid it's appreciated."
When Penny came back Percy paid with a quick tap of his credit card. He gave a generous 30% tip, again he did not really care how much he was spending as he did not have to worry about paying off the card given to him by the gods. Penny sure cared though, seeing that tip brightened her day.
"Well that was great, I'm glad you were able to make it out here kid and thanks again for dinner."
"Yes thank you Percy that was very generous of you."
"Hey don't mention it. Happy to do it and I'm happy to be here as well. It's been great meeting a couple of awesome new family members like you two as well."
It was not long before the three of them made it back to their home. It was getting rather late at this point as they had spent much more time talking at the dinner than they had expected.
"Well I have to admit I'm rather tired after my flight today. I might be feeling a little jet lag as well so I think I'm going to call it for tonight."
"No problem kid I'm ready to turn in for the night as well. Have a good night and I'll see you tomorrow." Charlie walked up the stairs to his bedroom after that leaving Percy alone in the living room with Bella nearby it the kitchen who was simply grabbing a drink of water.
"Alright Percy I'm going to bed as well but I just wanted to say it's good to have you here so far. We'll have to figure out some things to do together for later but for now have a good night and I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sounds good Bells and thanks you too."
With all the pleasantries out of the way everyone made their ways to their respective beds or couch in Percy's case and promptly fell asleep. With that Percy's first day in Forks came to an end.
Well that is where I'm going to call chapter 1. If anyone reading this also read my previous version of this story, I'm sure you have noticed a change In the pacing of the story so far. That was one of the main things I wanted to change as the first one felt really rushed. Honestly it was I think I had the entire story done in almost a week start to finish which just isn't enough time to do it properly. I'd also like to thank everyone that reviewed my previous story as many of your comments are helping me to do a better job this time around. At least I hope I'm doing a better job if not that kinda defeats the purpose. If anyone has any Comments or Feedback I'd be happy to read them all and I hope you all enjoy this story. Also if anyone sees any good Percy/Alice fics please let me know as the lack of them was what inspired me to actually write one of my own the first time around. I'd also be happy if after reading this some of you decide to try your own take on an Alice/Percy fic.
