Chapter 12: New Beginnings
As Ryan and Summer settled into their new life together, they started to talk about their future. Ryan had never been much of a planner, but with Summer by his side, he began to see a new vision for his life.
One day, as they sat on the beach, watching the waves roll in, Summer turned to Ryan and asked him what he wanted to do with his life.
"I don't know," Ryan admitted. "I never really thought about it. I just wanted to survive, to make it to the next day."
Summer took his hand, giving him a reassuring smile. "Well, now you have me. And together, we can make a plan for your future. What do you want to do?"
Ryan thought for a moment, then said, "I want to go to college."
Summer's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? That's amazing, Ryan! What do you want to study?"
Ryan shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I don't know yet. But I want to learn. I want to make something of myself, something that I can be proud of."
Summer beamed at him, feeling a sense of pride and admiration for the man she loved. "I know you can do it, Ryan. And I'll be here to support you every step of the way."
With Summer's encouragement, Ryan started to research colleges and explore different fields of study. He took online courses and attended seminars, trying to figure out what he was passionate about.
Eventually, he settled on studying social work, hoping to use his own experiences to help others who had faced similar challenges. Summer was thrilled for him, and together they started to make a plan for his future.
Ryan worked hard to get his grades up, and eventually, he was accepted into a local community college. It wasn't easy, balancing schoolwork with his job at the construction site, but he was determined to make it work.
Summer was there every step of the way, helping him study and providing emotional support. And as Ryan walked across the stage at his graduation ceremony, he knew that he had achieved something truly remarkable.
As they celebrated with their friends and family, Ryan felt a sense of pride and accomplishment that he had never experienced before. And he knew that he had Summer to thank for helping him find his way and achieve his dreams.
