Subaru's eyes opened as he felt a freezing cold temperature around him. He was not cold but could sense it was far more than usual within the forest. When he got up from the bed, the door was open, and he could hear the voice of Emilia, who sounded upset.

"Partner, while you were sleeping, a flying cat that seems to be what this world refers to as a 'Great Spirit' woke Emilia up, and the two are arguing over something."

"Puck great."

Subaru walked outside the hut, where he saw Emilia was the one causing the area to be frozen and Puck with an annoyed expression as he looked towards Subaru. Emilia turned around and stopped releasing mana. While Subaru slept, Puck was trying to convenience Emilia that Subaru was untrustworthy and reminded her that she wouldn't be able to free the elves if she left. Subaru had a reasonably similar idea to what happened. Puck attempted to shoot massive icicle attacks at Subaru, but he was immune to any form of magic as the mana dissipated on contact.

Subaru sighed, "Puck, long time no see. If you can't tell by now, I'm immune to all forms of magic, so trying to kill me is pointless."

Puck argued, "You're trying to take Lia into danger and convince her to abandon her goal."

A voice that commanded authority echoed, forcing Puck to stop moving, "Partner, I believe this is the source of Emilia's inability to make decisions. A spirit with great power acting as an overprotective father figure. I do not know what to say as I can't comprehend such delusion."

As both Emilia rejected his claims, Puck had no option, and Subaru was immune to any attack he could attempt. He flew away in both annoyance and worried about Emilia's well-being.

Emilia turned to Subaru, "Subaru, sorry about that…."

Subaru laughed, walking closer, "That wasn't your fault. My life was saved by E.M.T defending me against the Great Spirit."

Emilia poked Subaru's forehead, "Mhmmm, even though you are immune to all magic. How am I supposed to be useful?"

Subaru thought, "Ddraig can I give her power somehow?"

"First, you can boost and then transfer it to her. Though I doubt anyone except Reinhard would be able to give you any trouble. How boring to not have a rival and be in this world where everyone is weak."

Emilia smiled, "Isn't that a good thing?"

"Well, the only issue is Ddraig is from a world where there were much stronger people than within this world." Subaru thought, "Eradicating the Witch Cult is like crushing ants at this point. Also, we need to find somewhere to go."

Emilia thought of a place, "Welll, I have one place we could go. I have a friend Annerose who is the heir of House Miload, so we'll see if we can go there."

"That sounds great. I was trying to think of somewhere to go, but most of my ideas were probably not the best. Emilia, I'm going to pick you up, and you direct me the way of the mansion, alright?"

As Subaru formed his wings, Emilia teased, "So you're going to carry me whenever we go somewhere?"

Subaru picked up Emilia and ascended into the sky, "Of course. Unless you get your dragon, this is the best way to travel. Now lead the way."

Emilia looked at the surrounding area, unsure how to locate anything, "Subaru, it all just looks like tiny dots… can you see?"

"Yeah, my vision is improved now. We were at Elior Forest, so tell me the direction, and I'll descend so you can see better."

"Vision improved? Ughh, now I feel even more useless. Her mansion is within the Mathers domain, so head southwest and descend."

Subaru moved slightly southwest and descended as Emilia pointed towards a mansion, and they continued until they saw the mansion and landed in front of it. As the two landed, a butler approached them. Subaru could sense he held an authority but questioned how or why he would as he seemed completely normal.

Clind smiled, "It's been a long time Emilia-sama. I'm glad to see your in good that you are in good health. Who is the young man with you?"

Emilia gulped, "He's Subaru, a friend of mine. I wanted to speak with Annerose if possible."

Clind turned his direction toward Subaru, "Intriguing. My name is Clind, and I am a butler for Miload manner. Let me escort the two of you to Annerose-sama."

As the two made their way into the mansion, Subaru felt a weird sense from Clind as it seemed he had a hatred for witches similar to him. When the two made their way to Annerose's room, she had blue hair and a bright smile as she saw Emilia. Clind began to leave when Subaru spoke.

"Clind, I'd like to speak with you later if you can."

Clind replied, closing the door, "As would myself."

Annerose jumped and hugged Emilia, "Emily, are you alright? Word about you disappearing has started to spread around the Kingdom." Annerose turned to Subaru, "Who is he?"

Emilia smiled, "It's a very long story. But we needed somewhere to go and well, I thought you would be willing to let us stay here. This is Subaru. Sorry, I'm selfish, but we couldn't find another place to go."

Annerose teased Subaru, "Subaru did you influence Emilia to run away? She is so kind and gorgeous. I'm surprised you two are together."

Subaru replied, "Annerose, you seem kind. I assume Emilia knew you before she met me, so it makes me happy to know someone other than Puck treated her well."

Annerose blinked, "Puck… right. Subaru, can I talk to Emilia while you and Clind converse?"

Subaru questioned, "Sure, but if you're trying to make me look bad, Puck already tried this morning."

Annerose sighed, "You seem to have it completely wrong. I want to talk to Emilia to inform her of a few things I failed to explain. You seem like a genuine person, and well, Emilia is very easy to read."

Emilia blushed, "Anna, can you nottt say that it's embarrassing."

"Subaru, this is what I meant. Emily seems to have found someone she loves, and unless you are tricking me, you seem like a good person."

Subaru laughed, "Emilia, you have a good friend. She's mature for her age too. But I do have some things I want to ask Clind. You two can chat, and I'll talk with Clind."

Emilia asked, "How would you even know where he is?"

"Dragon instincts," Subaru said, leaving the door.

As he walked down the hallway, he had a decent understanding of what Annerose wanted to explain to Emilia. Though he was unsure if she was ready to learn 'where babies come from,' he would instead her explain than himself. He finally reached the end of the hallway turning his head left to see Clind.

"So I got a few questions, and it seemed you had some for me too. Annerose and Emilia are talking, so I thought this would be a good time for our conversation."

Clind nodded, guiding Subaru to a living space where they could speak, "Subaru, I have many questions as I'm unsure why or how Emilia left. Roswaal and Emilia's camp is searching for you, along with Felt's camp. I find it hard to believe you could've avoided being found before coming here."

"Well, when you can fly, avoiding that is much easier. Not to mention Pandora warped the memories of the entire Emilia camp and some members of the other camps. When I killed her, the effects were not removed in doing so. But first, I must ask what authority you hold."

"Subaru, it seems you know more than you let on. How did you find that out?"

"I was able to sense it. I can sense those that hold authority from any distance using my ability, but if they're close by, I can sense it without using it. Since you have authority, I can only question why you both aren't Witch and seem to dislike them."

"I will answer that question, but I want to know how exactly you ended up here and why Emilia left Roswaal. Roswaal is a friend of mine, and if your justification is not suitable, I will inform him."

"Sure, why not. As you already know, Pandora altered memories causing many issues. I was locked in a cell, being accused as a Sin Archbishop. Then I gained the power of a heavenly dragon, and my goal was to eradicate the Witch Cult, but first, I wanted to learn the truth of why Satella brought me into this world and gave me the power of return by death. I don't understand why she loves me, and countless more questions. Not to mention that eradicating the Witch Cult would be so easy it would be meaningless. I'd rather learn the truth of what is happening as I miss many pieces."

"So you were from beyond the great waterfall. First, I should explain why I hold authority yet am not a Witch. Holders of the authority of melancholy naturally hate Witches. They consider holders of this authority to be Warlocks of Melancholy. You said you gained power from Satella to return by death, then lost that power. But it seems you gained a different ability in doing so. I have been alive before the Great Calamity and can assist you in finding what you're looking for, but you have yet to convenience me of your justification for taking Emilia with you."

"The idea of you informing Roswaal does not threaten me. Not due to me being able to prevent it, but Emilia would be broken, and the entire point or whatever Roswaal's goal would fail. I took Emilia with me because she wanted to come, and if I didn't, she said she'd kill herself."

"That is a valid justification. My apologies for doubting you at first. To answer your questions, I first need to know if you can hold multiple authorities."

"Yes, I can."

"The previous Sage had a plan for someone who could possess all seven authorities to save Satella. The Great Calamity was mainly caused by Flugel's desire to save her. But he was able to create a plan for the future. You are meant to save Satella from her authority of envy."

"But why? Why do I need to save her, and why should I care?"

"Right now would not be the correct time to tell you. But I will say that it is important."

"I don't understand, though. At least answer this why did Satella say she loved me, and why did I say I loved her?"

"I do not know the answer to that. But I advise you to remain hidden within this mansion for some time. Even if you are much more powerful, the world will also react and boost others' power. Also, it seems you and Emilia have been through a lot recently. Take a break. It takes time to understand things, and if you rush the process, you will either fail or not understand what you wanted to learn."

"That is a good point. Taking a break and relaxing wouldn't be a bad idea. I guess I'll see if Annerose and Emilia are done talking. Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it."

Clind nodded, and Subaru walked back toward Annerose and Emilia's room. He knocked and walked in to see Emilia with a confused expression and Annerose with an annoyed expression.

"Well, Emilia looks like we're taking a vacation here. Or break, I guess."

Emilia tilted her head toward Subaru, "Uhmm does that mean we will have sex?"

Subaru's eyes turned to Annerose, "So that was what you failed to explain."

"Well, it's not my job to explain something like that. Puck should've most learned when they're like twelve or thirteen. But I tried to explain it as maturely as possible."

"Which was?"

Annerose began to walk towards the door, "I'll let you handle the rest."

Subaru sat beside Emilia, "So… what did she explain to you?"

"Well, she said sex is an intimate thing that people that love each other do. It's how someone can get pregnant as well. That was it. She also said that you can prevent becoming pregnant with some method to avoid it or magical pills that people use."

"Alright, that isn't too bad of an explanation… are you okay?"

"What do you mean? She also said it was like the closest someone can be to the person they love. Soooo why don't we do it?"

"Emilia, it's a serious thing to do. Think of it like a commitment. On Earth, if someone had sex with another person while in a relationship, that would be considered cheating, which is unfaithful. So if you commit to this, it's committing to… I don't know. It's so weird to explain."

"Partner, I should inform you that if Emilia becomes your mate, she will be a 'Dragon's mate' with many benefits. For one, your bond will increase to that of a dragon. Dragons have very intense emotions for their mates… along with that. I have no idea what will happen since this world is strange."

"Subaru, that cheating thing doesn't matter, does it? I wouldn't want to have sex with anyone other than you."

"Emilia-tan, how about we start slowly? I don't think your getting pregnant is a good idea either. How much detail did Annerose tell you about what sex is?"

"She just said it's two people getting as close to each other as possible."

"Fucking hell. You know I'm the Red Dragon Emperor. I can explain what sex is to you correctly. Emilia Annerose neglected to explain the process of what sex is."

BOOST GREED AUTHORITY

Subaru sighed as he boosted his authority to explain this, "Alright, listen, Emilia, when two people have sex…. For fuck sake, I feel like a Sex Ed teacher. Emilia, you and I would get naked, and I would put my penis inside you."

Emilia tilted her head, "Penis? Inside of me?"

Subaru gave up, "Emilia, we can't have sex until we find a way to avoid pregnancy. Does that make sense?"

Emilia thought about having a baby and didn't think she was ready, "Alright, that makes sense. But what about kissing?"

"That is… actually fine. Emilia, how long do you want to take this vacation?"

"Hmmm, as long as you want. There are so many things I want to talk to you about. This feeling in my heart is sooo nice. It feels like I'm cared for by you in a way that I can't explain with words."

"That's love. You are in love with me. That's the feeling."

"It's getting late. How abouttt we kiss more."

"I need to teach you more Earth terminology… kissing a lot is called making out. But yeah why not."

Subaru flipped Emilia on the bed as he began to brush his lips against her mouth, then kissed her as he pecked her lips a few times before she moved her tongue in his mouth. Subaru was surprised but continued as he was on top of her as he continued. Both of them felt a soothing sense of affection.

"Subaru, this feellls sooo good."

"I'm going to try another thing."

He then kissed her neck and face as he felt a bulge in his pants. He was right on top of Emilia, and she felt it too.

"What is that?"

"Nevermind about that… I think I'm getting tired. Let's go to bed."

"Alrighttt let's do this more often."

As Subaru slept, he entered a landscape where he could see the dragon he had been talking to this entire time. A giant red dragon that admitted an aura he couldn't compare to anything he's seen within this world.

"Subaru, you forgot that I told you that you will have to train for what I had to endure helping Emilia learn what she should've learned years ago. This is the beginning of your training."

A feeling of dread filled Subaru, "What is it?"

"For now, I want to give you something. It is your potential. The fact that you needed it can only mean that this world has powers that require you to become stronger."

Subaru was given a silver crystal that contained his potential though he was confused about what potential even meant.

The next day arrived, and Subaru saw Emilia sleeping on his chest as her arms surrounded him. He felt a sense of sexual desire that he didn't understand as he feared it might be lust.

Ddraig whispered, "Partner, you are now a dragon. Dragons have an extreme sexual desire for their mates. The longer you wait, the more it will affect you."

Subaru sighed as he put he looked at Emilia's glowing face. He wondered what the future would bring as Clind said his power might lead to the world correcting itself to match his own. He wondered about Reinhard, what he may do after learning that Emilia left, or what Roswaal may do. He thought of an idea to change everything, so Annerose sponsored Emilia, and things could return to normal. He knew he had the power to reverse the effects in Elior Forest, but his instincts told him not to. He had many questions, but perhaps restoring reality to its normal function would be the best option. However, he had no idea if he could even do such a thing.

Emilia's eyes opened as she whispered, "Subaru, this is the best I've felt in my whole life. Thank you."

Before Subaru could finish, a knock was heard as Emilia got off the top of Subaru and opened the door to find Clind with two outfits made for Subaru and Emilia.

Subaru smiled, "Thank you, Clind."

Clind bowed as he left the room, "There is no need to thank me."

Emilia entered the bathroom to shower and change into her new outfit as Subaru waited, thinking of how he could perform recreating reality itself.

"Ddraig, any ideas on how I could recreate reality Annerose is Emilia's sponsor; this is our camp. We can gain new members, but I want to find a way to reverse everything. I do have many things I want answers to, but Clind made a valid point about me using my power, not to mention you said yourself that it's strange I would need more power."

"Partner, you do not need to do anything to achieve that. If you wanted, you could simply have Annerose sponsor Emilia."

"But what about Roswaal or the others in Emilia's camp, not to mention that they all think I'm a Sin Archbishop."

"Change your appearance, and that problem is solved. Find a reason to justify Emilia moving camps or something similar. Also, the soul of Annerose has some sort of soul magic placed on it that would be triggered when someone dies, and she would receive the soul of the person doing so."
Subaru sighed, "Roswaal, you scumbag. Can I undo this?"

"Yes, you can work with your authority of greed. Greed is vague, and boosting it allows you to use the authority to form any ability you desire."

"I'm going to go make sure that doesn't happen to Annerose… she's so kind even though she neglected to explain what sex was to Emilia."

Subaru walked out of the room and sensed the direction that Clind was where he would ask him first before doing anything.

"Clind, are you aware of the soul magic used on Annerose?"

"I am aware. Roswaal lived this long by performing that magic."

"I'm going to break it. Annerose doesn't deserve to be used as a vessel, and I won't let Roswaal take someone like that."

"Do as you wish."

Clind led Subaru to Annerose's room, where she was on sitting on a table doing some sort of paperwork on her desk.

"Subaru?"

"Anna, why did you fail to explain to Emilia what sex is correct?"

"Why do I have to do it? It's so weird."

"Yes, and it's weird for me to do so too."

"Fine, I'll explain it to her."

"Thank you. Anna, you are a good person, and I'm thankful you helped Emilia and me in the past."

"That was sudden, but I didn't mention it. Emilia is the kindness and sweetest person I've met, so I'd be happy to help her."

"Alright, and what are you doing that paperwork for? Just curious?"

"Well, I will be the heir to the Mather's domain. I've been studying a lot to ensure I do well when Lord Roswaal passes."

Subaru smiled, "You will do a good job. I can tell already."

Subaru thought about telling her but felt it would do more harm than good. By removing the magic, he could accomplish his goal without her finding out what fate or false purpose she lived. He approached her, boosting his authority of greed, and saw multiple colors that looked like different elements of magic left her.

He left the room to return to his own, where Emilia wore an outfit that made her look like an angel. Emilia wears a white, off-the-shoulder cropped top made of a form-fitting, stretchy material. The top has a plunging V-neckline adorned with silver embroidery and delicate lace trim accentuating her décolletage. The sleeves are long and fitted, with a slight bell shape at the wrists. She dons a high-waisted, asymmetrical mini-skirt in a deep purple hue. The skirt is fitted at the waist and has a draped, ruffled panel that starts at the left hip and extends down, covering her right thigh.

Subaru's eyes widened, "You look so good."

"You think so? I looked in the mirror and wasn't sure."

"No, that looks so good. How did Clind create such amazing clothing? I wonder what mine will be."

Subaru took his clothing and took a shower. When he put the clothing on, he adorned what looked similar to his tracksuit but more formal. But at the same time, the shirt and jacket were slimmer, allowing his muscles which were larger due to him becoming a dragon but not too large that he'd look like a bodybuilder. The correct amount of both strength and speed. Subaru walked out, and Emilia stared at him.

"Do… you like it?"

Emilia giggled, "It looks… sexy."

Subaru laughed, "I should've said the same about yours."

"You dunderhead, you taught me that word."

"Who even says dunderhead anymore?"

The room door opened, and it was Annerose, "So Subaru, time for me to fulfill what you asked me to. I should've done it originally."

Subaru nodded and left as he had already planned something he needed to do. He flew out a window heading to Roswaal's mansion. When he got a view of it, he noticed something strange. He saw Reinhard at the entrance of the mansion. He continued observing the situation until Reinhard continued into the mansion. He began to descend, and as he looked at the entrance he saw Roswaal's corpse.

"Ddraig, any idea what is happening? Is Reinhard being influenced?"

"Not that I can tell. Something must've happened. I'd be cautious but approach him and ask."

Subaru agreed as he began to walk into the mansion, where he saw dragon blood similar to that of Capella's of Garfiel, Fredrica, and Petra. Reinhard turned around with a face of despair and sadness.

Subaru asked, "What happened?"

"Similar to Crusch, everyone in this mansion has been affected by the cursed dragon blood of Capella. Roswaal's corpse was at the door to the mansion. They aren't dead, but I'll have to bring them all to the medics within the Capital. They'll be bedridden similar to how Crusch is. Until we obtain Dragon Blood from Volcanica, we can't heal them."

Subaru felt the need to help as he spawned his wings and picked up Petra, Ram, Fredrica, and Rem, who was still in a coma state. He began flying at a speed he could reach the Capital drop them off with Felix, and return to Reinhard within a few moments.

"I dropped them off. I'll take care of the rest."

"Subaru, that is not your duty. I will take the rest to the medics. You find a way to restore them or get the Dragon's Blood."

"Alright, I will."

Subaru began to ascend back into the sky, entering the door of Emilia's room where Annerose was no longer there. He felt his day go from perfect to terrible in a few minutes. He stared at Emilia, who looked confused at his expression.

"Roswaal's mansion was attacked. All camp members are affected by the cursed dragon blood that Crusch was affected by. As for Beatrice, she either died or left, as she was not at the mansion. Reinhard told me I need Dragon's Blood from Vollcanica to save them."

Emilia thought back to all the camp members and felt guilt as maybe if she had been there, she could've helped them. But her vision of them was much more different than Subaru's as she witnessed their hatred and wished for Subaru's death claiming he was a Sin Archbishop. She couldn't help but not feel as bad as she would've normally. Subaru laid on the bed, saddened by his failure to save or protect them. Now he needed to get Dragon's Blood to help them. But they were alive and in time will be back. Rem's memories will be restored, and he can leave the camp. He started to wonder if taking Emilia was the reason this happened.

Emilia laid down next to Subaru, "It's not your fault. They're not dead, and just like Rem, who was in a coma state, you didn't give up on saving them. So don't blame yourself. You can still save them, and taking me with you wasn't the cause. If you didn't intervene, the world could've been destroyed if I had opened that seal."

Subaru spoke empty, "I know, but it's hard to do so much to help them, and everything falls apart now they're all bedridden until I get Dragon's Blood."

Emilia pulled Subaru closer to her, "Please don't let this make you how you were before. I love you, and I would've lost you if you stayed in that empty mindset of trying to save everyone and doing everything even if it cost you the memories of your life… don't do that again, please."

Subaru looked at Emilia's face next to his chest, "I won't. I guess Clind said the same thing, sort of. If I rush into fixing things, it'll only make them worse. It's a cruel concept, but I need to accept it."

Emilia wrapped her legs between Subaru's and rested her head on his chest, "Think about all the people you did save. You saved Crush's camp, saved me sooo many times, saved the members of our camp sooo many times, but what about saving you?"

Subaru questioned, "From what?"

"From yourself. Ddraig told me that you were broken. I don't know if I could even handle watching your memories, but you lived it. Nobody was there for you to talk to or help you. I couldn't even tell you how I felt… until I forgot you. Subaru, your someone that a dragon, who I guess was some god from another world, recognized you and your accomplishments."

Subaru couldn't respond as he wondered how much Emilia had learned about him. He didn't want her to know the hell he went through, but it seemed she had some idea. But he thought about her point of nobody saving him. But she was the one that saved him from the start. She was the one that made him continue. His reason for everything he went through. He promised himself not to let anything harm her and never to leave her again.
