Chapter 10

Jimmy didn't care that it was still daylight. He saw them saddling their horses and he hoped that he wasn't going to be too late. He didn't know if the Pinkerton's had already got the word out. He hurriedly eased closer. He heard Hunter say he had to run back real quick. He went into the tent just as Hunter came in the front. He saw him stop in disgust.

"Don't go with them."

"I thought I told you to fucking leave. You can't be in here. Damnit you are so…."

"Shut up. They are planning something against you. Cody heard…"

"Fuck, they are here?!"

"Yes. Look you can't…"

"Shut up!"

"Hunter, you are playing a dangerous game. I don't care that you hate my guts, but your Momma needs you to come home. I can't leave you here. I can't do that to her."

"I ain't leaving."

"They are going to kill you, all of you."

"Get out of here!"

"You can't keep doing this. Killing innocents and then fucking around with the leader's girl. What the hell has gotten into you."

"It ain't like that."

"Like what?"

"You know what. It ain't none of your business. Leave!"

Jimmy went to say more when the flap was thrown open. Hunter pulled his pistol as Jared and Ray came in. They pulled their guns as well.

"What is going on in here?" Jared asked glaring at Jimmy.

"God, Jared, look at that." Ray said as more men surrounded the tent.

"Care to explain, Hunter?"

"What's to explain, ya'll can clearly see it." Hunter mumbled.

"So, this is him, Wild Bill himself." Jared said circling Jimmy.

"You turning on us?!" Ray shouted at Hunter.

"Fuck no. He came wanting me to go with him, but you damn well know my home is here. He has got no right to be here. I hate him."

"You know what's got to happen." Ray said edging closer.

Jimmy glanced up to Hunter who didn't even show any emotion.

"Heard what you said, Wild Bill. They planning on killing us all, huh? Stay put boys." Jared said as Isabell made her way into the tent.

She looked at Jimmy then at Hunter. She frowned. She put her arms around Jared and kissed his neck.

"It's too late to bury a body. Do it tomorrow?" She purred in his ear.

"Tie him up. We are gonna find out everything he knows afore we kill him. I got something else in mind anyways. I'll tell everyone in the morning. Seems I got plans tonight."

The other men laughed as Isabell pulled Jared away. Ray walked over and pressed his gun into Jimmy's throat. Two other men came and took his gun.

"Get up."

Jimmy slowly stood with his hands out. Hunter watched as they tied his hands behind his back. He grunted as they tighten the rope around his wrist that he was still favoring. They pushed him outside. They pushed him to sit beside the wagon wheel. They tied his hands so tight that he was losing feeling in them. He glanced up to Hunter as the others left.

"You should have listened." Hunter said.

He turned to walk away.

Cody, Buck, and Noah laid back flat against the rock. Cody rubbed his face. He turned to the other two.

"Now what are we gonna do?' He asked.

"This makes it even harder." Buck said thinking.
