Riley's plan to get caught up on all the work she didn't finish during the week basically failed. She hadn't fallen asleep until sleep until 4:30 Saturday morning and since she and James don't set an alarm of the weekend neither of them awoke till almost noon.

Riley tried to speed through everything in the afternoon but found she couldn't focus on anything. Reading the building codes was frustrating because she found it absolutely mind numbing and when she tried turning her attention to booking the hotels for regionals, her mind kept taking her back to the first time that she was studio head. While she wouldn't admit it to anyone, Riley had been growing increasingly anxious about Regionals. Even though they were still two months, the closer it got the more and more her mind focused on the events that took place when she first became studio head.

She tried turning on the TV to give her some background noise, but it ended up lulling her into a nap.

That is why she had awoken early Sunday morning and had spent the last couple hours working on the studios budget for the upcoming quarter. She was nursing her second cup of coffee and about halfway through when she felt her fiancé wrap his arms around her petite waist and rest his head on her shoulder gently.

"Morning Riles."

"Morning."

"Why are you up so early babe? Its Sunday, we should be spending this morning in bed." He whispered into her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.

She sighed. Riley would have loved to do nothing more than spend the morning lying in bed with James, wrapped in each other's embrace, sharing gentle kisses, and exchanging words of affectionate, but she didn't have the time. She was already finding it hard to concentrate and this budget was taking more time than it normally did for her to complete.

"I can't babe, I have to finish this budget."

"So, you'd rather play with numbers then come back to bed with me?" James asked teasingly. "Because I don't think numbers can do this." James started to place gentle kisses on her bare shoulder.

She tried to ignore the feeling of his lips on her skin. She starred at the numbers on her screen, trying to focus on the budget line for costumes, but let out a giggle when she felt his lips plan themselves on a sensitive spot behind her hear.

"Babe not n-now," she stammered trying to keep her focus on the numbers, but James kept planting gentle kisses on her bare skin.

"James stop!" Riley yelled and slammed her palms down on the table. She was surprised by the force in her voice. She honestly didn't know why she yelled that loud.

She felt James pull away and she turned her body around to face him. Her fiancé was looking at her with a guilty look on his face.

"James I'm-"

"No Riles I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kept going. I'll…I'll let you finish the budget." He exited the kitchen before Riley could apologize for snapping at him.

She let out a frustrated sigh and placed her head in her hands, resting her elbows on the table. James had only been being playful with her, he would never have done anything without her explicit consent. It wasn't his full fault she was on a time crunch. He wasn't the one who had been so unproductive the last few days. She felt guilty for snapping at him. She needed to get her stress under control, she was starting to take it out on the people around her.

"Riley?" Deborah said, pulling the young women from her thought. The two were standing in the kitchen, doing the dishes after dinner.

"Sorry what?"

"I asked if you had given anymore thought to the colors for your wedding?"

She turned her head away from the window and looked at the women who had essentially been her second mother for years. "I don't know, blue maybe."

"Sweetheart are you okay?" Deborah asked. "You were pretty quiet at dinner tonight."

Riley flashed the older women a reassuring smile and nodded. "I'm okay Deborah it's just been a very busy week." She saw the older women giving her a knowing look and sighed, "I kind of took James's head off this morning."

Deborah raised an eyebrow, "Oh and why was that?"

"I was trying to finish the budget this morning and James was well," she felt a blush on her cheeks. "James was distracting me."

Deborah nodded, a slight smile forming on her mouth. "I see. You know If I can offer you some advice coming from someone who's been married over twenty years. Don't stress about the small things. Communicate with each other and don't go to bed without telling each other how much you love each other."

Riley flashed her fiancés mother a smile and allowed herself to be pulled into a hug. "Thank you, Deborah."

"Anytime dear. I'm always hear for the both of you."

"I'm sorry I snapped at you this morning. I've just been stressed, and I got a bit behind on my work, so that was all my mind was on this morning." Riley said as James climbed into bed beside her.

"I understand, just remember you can always take to me." He gave her a reassuring smile.

"I know and again I'm sorry for earlier," she said snuggling into him as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Don't even worry about it."

She let out a tiny laugh, "I love you, James."

"I love you too sweet girl." He placed a kiss on her forehead.

Within minutes Riley could her James's soft snores. She let out a sigh of relief. She had finally gotten caught up on her work and everything was good between her and James. Maybe the stress had been getting too her. Surely the upcoming week would go better. Surely she would wake up tomorrow no longer full of stress and anxiety.
