SCP – 64738 – Fairies, Fairies everywhere
Item # : SCP – 64738.
Class : Safe.
Special Containment Procedures : The forest named SCP-64738-1 is to be surrounded by a concrete enclosure 5 meters high with a thickness of 30 cm.
Every civilian must be taken and must be administered Class A amnestics.
Foundation members are permitted to enter the area for rest due to its peaceful and restful atmosphere.
They can also converse with SCP-64738-2 and SCP-64738-Alpha.
Employees are to accept gifts from SCP-64738-2 and Alpha.
Description :
SCP-64783-1 is an oak forest located in the Rhone Valley. This forest has trees twice the size of a normal oak tree.
These oaks can keep their leaves, flowers, and fruits permanently. Pulling it out does nothing as the tree regenerates its wounds.
The flowers give off a strong scent of lavender and rose. The apples are very juicy and delicious according to visitors.
SCP - 64738 - 2 are kind of childish-looking fairy.
They have a harmless behavior, very childish and peaceful.
Anyone can play and chat with them, but any aggressive action against them will cause them to defend themselves with their abnormal powers.
These fairies are extremely diverse to the point that it is difficult to categorize them. But here are the most common:
The Phantasmagoric Fairies are the most numerous to be listed. They are blond, have red eyes, four transparent leaf-shaped wings. They have small figures. They are dressed in simple red dresses. They are born from the magic forest.
The Fairies of the Winds are recognizable with their brown hair reaching the shoulders, green eyes, a white dress decorated with flowers. They have a childlike face. They have four simple transparent wings. They can fly quickly through the air but no other special abilities. They are born from air.
Water Fairies have blue hair, sapphire blue eyes, wear blue robes with white slant lines. They are born from the water points of the forest. They love to chat and tell stories to each other and the other fairies. They also play roles, which can get them into trouble as accidents happen because they are in their fictional roles.
The Tree Fairies have green hair of all sizes, jade eyes, wear butterfly-shaped hairpins. They wear dresses in two green or brown layers. They sometimes carry flowers on them. They have three pairs of leaf wings.
They are born from trees and stay near them most of the time. They cultivate them sometimes to collect fruits and plant them in the ground.
These fairies of these different categories start from one to several thousand. Those previously named are generally between 400 and more than 5000.
But we can see sub-groups either from the original groups, from external elements placed in the forest, concepts, or other phantasmagorical elements.
Some of these fairies are evolutions of the previous ones such as the Magic Fairies, the Water or Ice Fairies, the Nature Fairies, or the Sky Fairies. These possess abnormal powers in relation to their membership, older appearances, more ornate and elaborate clothing as well as a much more pronounced intelligence and character.
Example of external groups fairies:
The Fire Fairies come from all fires lit in the forest. They have an appearance and clothing related to fire. They also have energetic (or "fiery") behaviors.
Book Fairies.
They are fairies from the books since the installation of the Site around the anomaly.
They roam the site's library, ordering the books from time to time and protecting them from thieves. They are, however, simple-minded. They are dressed in leather clothes, inky black hair, and paper wings.
A Librarian fairy with a teenage appearance appeared soon after. She has a studious character, possessing all the knowledge of the libraries from which she comes. She can also perform the acts described in the study books. She also loves readers and explaining written knowledge to them.
The Fairy of Fun is a fairy who spends her time making jokes and other pranks. She has very bright and neon hair, clothes, and appearance.
It surely comes from the children entering the forest and their wonder.
There are Sun and Moon fairies with patterns corresponding to the stars that gave birth to them. They are only saw in their time of the day.
There are MTF Fairies because they came from the armory of the MTF Epsilon-6 "Village Idiots" division, they wear armor, mechanical wings in addition to a straight and disciplined attitude.
In summary, anything can spawn subgroups of fairies. This is obvious with the doctor fairies, iron fairies, computer fairies and other issues from the Site.
However, there is SCP - 64738 - Alpha. A fairy located deep in the forest, living in a glade filled with lilies.
She wears a silk dress, has white hair and an adult appearance with a beauty described as "radiant".
She claims to be the mother of the other fairies and has human intelligence. The entity also has a deep knowledge of the region since Gallic times. Legends and beliefs have fed the forest and increased the number and variety of existing fairies. She alone has global knowledge of fairies whose number reaches ["Deleted"] for more than ["Deleted"] groups.
It also has the more fairies there are, the greater the chance that a fairy in a group will eventually evolve into an upgraded version. Old age matters too. (200 years to evolve, basically).
Thus, she explains that a Phantasmal Fairy named Meru became Magic, then a Magician, Witch to finally become Magic Goddess.
Alpha had also explained that the more fairies multiply, the more the forest grows and becomes filled with magic.
The SCP Foundation is not changing its containment protocol as a result of this discussion.
The forest was first discovered by the Foundation following the aftermath of World War II in France. The Site was built around it and a cover for impassable relief was put in place.
Addendum 1 : Simple Experiments were performed to cause new fairies to appear.
Experiment #1:
A pile of sweets was put in the forest. The next day, three fairies with dresses decorated with these same treats were discovered. They love eat sweets and they are gluttonous.
Experiment #2:
A shovel was put in the forest. A camera was set up to film the "Birth" scene.
At 2 a.m. the next day.
The shadow cast by the shovel grows before taking on human form and breaking away from the original shadow.
The shadow ends up getting thicker, taking on colors and finally reveals a fairy dressed in a peasant's outfit, with leather wings.
The next day, the fairy could be seen taking seeds from the trees before digging and planting in the ground, then backfilling it before leaving.
Experiment #3:
A hammer and a chisel were placed in the forest.
Filmed with a camera to confirm the theory on the creative shadow.
That is not what happened.
At 2:00 a.m., a light appeared next to the hammer and chisel. A Sculptor Fairy in her regular attire appeared and spent her days pounding pebbles to carve them. She becomes very popular with the other fairies.
Experiment #4:
A suggestion by Dr. Hadrian was implemented in the Site. An unused bedroom was filled with maids' wardrobes.
The next day, several dozen Maid Fairies were in the Site, doing household chores of all kinds.
Site Director: Doctor Hadrian, normally this act will be severely punished but I would ignore it because these servants are very useful to the site.
Experiment #5:
A series of powerful lamps were placed in the clearing.
The intense light emitted generated a fairy that shines like a light bulb, spending its time hovering above the forests.
Addendum 2: Experiments with more complex objects were set up.
Experiment #1:
A medieval plastic castle with all its components (soldiers, peasants, and others) was put in the forest.
The next day, a fortified castle was discovered in a new clearing. It was guarded by Fairy Guards while peasant fairies, living in a nearby village, plowed in the shadow of the castle. Inside are servants, then the leading fairy and lord, dressed in a colorful and highly decorated outfit.
All these fairies speak a dialect of Old French and are very suspicious of the Foundation.
Experiment #2:
A corpse was placed in the forest.
The next day, a fairy corpse can be seen in the forest in fatal positions. Often, she changes position depending on where she is seen and seems to move instantly when you look away. But she was never discovered animated or "alive."
Doctor Hadrian: "This is disturbing… I have no words."
Experiment #3:
A soccer ball was put in the forest with sports clothes.
We could see a fairy team that regularly faces in a clearing another team to a game. Several hundred other fairies attend their match, sometimes betting on this or that team.
Addendum 3: Appearance and very unusual fairy evolutions.
Experiment #1: A Class D criminal wanted by the Foundation was found in the Site. But he was surely trapped by MTF fairies because the Site heard gunshots and cries of pain and agony.
The next day, when the forest was searched. Traces of blood were found. But the MTF team discovered the shovel fairy who was finishing burying something. The filled hole was 5 meters deep and was a size comparable to that of the class D sought.
When we asked the question to the fairy, she answered: "A dead man needs a grave". She then flew away in the air with her leather wings.
So, for several days, a body lay in the forest.
But shortly after something creepy appeared in the forest.
Indeed, in the night in the next week, we can see a fairy, dressed in a D-class costume like the deceased D-class now haunting the forest, terrifying the other fairies.
Her behavior is chaotic. Passing to tears, tantrums, or silences. As if the character of class D in his last moments has been grafted into the character of this fairy.
When she sees a member of the foundation. She takes an aggressive attitude and will try to kill the employee in question. Only the MTF fairies hunt her as they scare her and run away to the forest. It is not seen during the day but it can be seen at night.
Doctor Hadrian: "I believe we have cursed the forest. We now have an incarnation of a Class D criminal in this forest, capable of harming us. What will happen when it evolves?"
The Class D's body was dug up and nothing abnormal was found on it. He was... dead and he will be.
Experiment #2: A book describing the personalities of female anime characters was put in the forest.
The next day, several fairies of varying sizes and appearances were present with those same cliched characteristics.
So, we had in total: Bakadere, Boccandere, Bodere, Byoukidere, Dandere, Deredere, Dorodere, Goudere, Hajidere, Himedere, Hiyakasudere, Inudere, Idol Singer, Kamidere, Kanedere, Kekkondere, Kitikudere, Kuudere, Maid, Mayadere, Megadere, Meganekko, Moekko, Nemuidere, Nyandere, Oujodere, Onidere, Otaku, Sadodere, Shundere, Tsundere, Undere, Utsudere, Yandere and Yottadere fairies.
But a problem soon arose as the owner of the book, Doctor ["Deleted"] was accosted by the Dere Fairies, each showing their affection in their own way. But faced with fairies like the Yandere, he tried to make sure that the Yandere fairy did not develop unhealthy jealousy towards the other women of the complex he frequents because a Yandere always ends up having blood on her hands if they get jealous.
Experiments #3: A bed was put in the forest. The next day, a fairy with the appearance of a spooky fairy only with silken wings could be seen sleeping in the bed. She could be seen sleeping outside the bed at certain places that were comfortable for her, she even got into the bed of the site employees, much to their annoyance. Of course, impossible to wake her up. You can only move it by force. The longer the bed in the forest remained there, the more fairies appeared, one per night.
A few weeks later, more than 20 fairies were sleeping in the forest, which caused one of them to evolve.
Indeed, some employees of the foundation began to have dreams with an adult fairy dressed in a white dress, sometimes giving them snacks, giving them massages or other relaxing activities.
This fairy could be seen sitting in the bed of the forest during the day and she calls herself the Fairy of Dreams, wanting to give her targets good nights.
Their number stopped increasing after the appearance of the Dream Fairy.
Incident "Too much Fairies":
Phantasmagoric fairies, magic fairies, magicians, and witches became so numerous that they invaded the entire forest of the Site. SCP-64783-Alpha explained that it was time for swarming.
The shovel fairy multiplied into several hundred leading to the creation of the Gardener fairies, who are dressed in the clothes of the Gardeners. They took seeds and planted them at the edge of the forest west of the Site.
Once the trees were planted, half of the fairies settled there. The Terriers fairies, the Masons Fairies, and other workers, all led by the Architects have built a large village to house the new fairies while waiting for the new forest to grow. The Fairy Knights and MTF watched the plantations for any aggression.
Incident "Moth Fairy":
A species of Butterfly arrived in the forest by chance on July 20XX. D-73849 spotted a cocoon in the forest. The Site's science team decided to inspect it. Inside was an expanding humanoid form.
10 days after the discovery, the cocoon was pierced by hands.
A fairy with majestic Butterfly wings came out and started flying around like all the other fairies.
Incident "Fairy-096":
The Site has been notified by the Foundation that SCP-096 has breached its containment and that increased vigilance is warranted.
On March 25, 20XX in the middle of the night, cries were heard in the forest. It was not a cry from the other fairies, not even the D-Class fairy. It was crying comparable to that of the wanted SCP.
But before an investigation could be prepared, a terrible event happened in the forest. The crying suddenly turned into a cry of rage, while screams of terror from the fairies were heard. Gunshots, magic balls, and other things were seen and heard throughout the Site.
When the MTF team arrived on the scene, they discovered in the worst possible way that the fairies had human characteristics as bits and shreds of flesh were all over the forest, along with clothing.
Eventually, SCP-096 was found crying near a large tree, in the middle of a field of fairy corpses of all kinds.
The Site took SCP-096 back to a containment room and locked it away until reinforcements arrived.
According to the report, nearly 400 phantasmagoric fairies, 146 sky fairies, 98 tree fairies, 64 MTF fairies, 37 knight fairies, 20 water fairies and finally 7 magic fairies were killed.
SCP - 64738 - Alpha mourned the death of her fairies immensely.
This catastrophic event caused the creation of new fairies.
The shovel fairy spent the rest of the days collecting their sisters' body parts before burying them in the village. Then cleaner fairies appeared in large numbers to cleanse the forest of blood. But from the cemetery, 5 undertaker fairies are born and take care of the graves.
But the long-term effect of the forest is much worse.
Indeed, very sinister fairies appeared in the following months. A fairy dressed in black with a mask appeared. Anything staring at her terrified her and she ran away. She was the fairy of terror, born of the terror of the deceased fairies.
Then a fairy dressed in white with blood on it also appeared, it was the murder fairy. She was enraged all the time and attacked any fairies who bothered her. She was confined to a containment chamber on the site because of her dangerousness.
The last fairy resulting from the massacre is the most dangerous. Indeed, it is a pale fairy, with pale hair, with such pale clothes. She was thin, her mouth was 4 times that of a normal human while her eyes had no irises. This fairy was simply the incarnation of SCP-096 and has the same characteristics as the latter.
Her first encounter with the Foundation was terrible. Indeed, she appeared in a room of the foundation crying but instead of male fears, it was the crying of a little girl. A group of scientists heard her crying and wanted to console her, without knowing that this would lead to their downfall. Indeed, they saw the face of the fairy who reacted like her creator. She cried harder and harder before finally screaming in rage and slaughtering everyone who saw her.
Fairy 096 was finally caught after slaughtering her victims. A containment chamber comparable to that of SCP-096 was constructed at the Site and it was locked away.
The final consequences of SCP-096's arrival were that the MTF fairies spawned subgroups of MTF fairies in addition to multiplying them. They call themselves the "Iron Wings" and have very heavy caliber weapons, as well as transport and attack vehicles to their measure. MTF Fairies "Forest Fists" specialize in building fortresses.
The medieval fairy castle was upgraded with an additional triple line of ramparts, deadly traps, and other dangerous weapons. The number of Serfs, Villains and Breeders fairies increased considerably in the forest to meet the needs of this new power. A veritable host of fairy knights, archers and other various female soldiers appeared to protect the fairy lord's castle from such a monster. Also, small bastions were installed at the ends of the forest. The recent fairy village at the edge of the forest was surrounded by stone ramparts and iron gates by the medieval fairies and MTFs while it is guarded by the MTFs who patrol everywhere.
Thus, the fairies related to the armies went from about 100 to more than 2100.
Doctor Hadrian: "It's really sad, the fairies have become highly military after the arrival of SCP-096. There is no longer the same atmosphere as before."
Incident "Musical Fairies":
Doctor Maya brought with her a violin to play a tune in front of all her colleagues. Passing fairies watched the scene.
2 days later, a fairy in a white dress carrying a violin was playing in the forest, all around her were fairies listening to the tune.
Doctor Azel, meanwhile, brought an electronic piano to the Site to outbid Doctor Maya. He played a virtuoso piece in front of everyone, but something unusual happened. Indeed, another piano air was heard and a fairy pianist appeared alongside Doctor Azel like a ghost. The two pianists continued to play until the end of the score, the fairy took a different tone to add variety to the music.
Finally, they finished and everyone in the room clapped. What does not have more to the fairy violinist.
The two musical fairies were now rivals and would do everything to come out first.
For several weeks, concerts in the fairy village were heard. Moreover, the ever-increasing rivalry between the two fairies has spawned other fairies corresponding to the other's instrument family. The violinist fairy was accompanied by other fairies using stringed instruments while the pianist fairy had with her electronic instrument fairies (because from an electronic piano).
Doctor Terrence and his friends had the rather trollish idea of playing the other types of instruments to make other fairies appear. Thus, Terrence played the flute for the wind instrument. Doctor ["Deleted"] brought a drum with him for the percussion. Finally, Doctor ["Deleted"] brought with him a barrel organ for the combination.
They bring sheet music with them so that the melody is as harmonious as possible and then begin to play music in the forest.
The result was obtained at nightfall, with a flutist fairy, a drum fairy and a fairy with a barrel organ playing with the scientists.
Thus, these three new fairies compete with the two previous ones, founding their own orchestra linked to their nature, causing a kind of musical war in the forest.
Terrence and his two acolytes were reprimanded but this one had no shame.
Terrence: « We must add a little fun in the forest after SCP-096 incident. I think fairies' music was a good idea. »
Experiment #4:
A professional photographer's equipment consisting of a camera, two umbrellas, two lamps and a green background was put in the forest.
The next day, a fairy dressed in work clothes began to photograph everything that seemed out of the ordinary according to her.
Moreover, the equipment on site had disappeared but reappeared in certain places in the forest when the fairy wanted to take a clear picture.
Incident "High Kingdom of Fairies":
SCP - 682 has escaped containment and Sites have been placed on high alert.
The fairies started gossiping to each other, spreading rumors from the fairies of the Site to the fairies of the forest.
Then something happened in the forest.
In the weeks following the news.
The Medieval Fairies' castle is going through an intense period of construction, the tree fairies moved the trees to make more room for the small kingdom's clearing.
Forges, mills, and other buildings were built in the clearing. The ramparts were now decorated with buttresses and measured 10 meters high. The castle itself was immaculately white. The fairies were now grown and dressed in their best days.
The peasant women were in new clothes and looked well fed. The female soldiers had very strong and huge armor.
The reigning fairy was dressed in golden armor with golden wings and a jeweled silver crown. She had become queen.
The huge fairy army was now provided with every division imaginable from the Middle Ages.
Paths are dug throughout the forest, including the "Route Royale" which goes to the outside village.
The village below the castle has become a small town in clean, tiled stone.
Moreover, small villages are founded around all along the forest which also serves as a rallying point for the armies of the kingdom of the forest.
SCP-682 was eventually found and contained, but this incident spurred the forest to fight back even more.
Doctor Hadrian: "I was afraid but I am reassured now. I still feel bad for the Fairies, they reflected our world. With so much negativity, I do not want to imagine if a new SCP penetrates in the Site."
